About the Owner

Your host, Ron, has decades of experience in hospitality, as the owner of one of Seattle's most beloved restaurants. I expanded into home renovation during 2010 as general contractor as my wife and I brought our 1967 home into the 21st century. We updated every inch of the home and are comfortable on the first and second floors of this three story home. We especially love the location, the feeling of being in the forest as we gaze out on the wooded garden and watch the birds.

This apartment is a real treat !

  • 5 of 5
We recently spent 3 nights in this apartment, visiting the University of Washington, and some friends in Seattle with my wife and two children (13 and 14). We were so comfortable, we wished we could have stayed another week! Everything in the apartment is done to the highest standards, from the bedding to the kitchenware to the coffee maker. The garden is made especially inviting -- with high-end barbecue equipment to nice garden plants and furniture, to a cozy outdoor gas-operated fire pit. We really enjoyed just sitting out there around the fire. The location is also great - in a picturesque hilly neighborhood, right next to a bike/jogging trail, and walking distance (<10 min) to a nice supermarket and also to a coffee shop (Hart Coffee!). Ron was also the perfect host. He took visible pleasure in spoiling us, and attending to all our needs (and in general, maintaining this place to a standard I have previously only encountered in 5-star luxury hotels).

Could not have picked a better place!

This property exceeded our expectations in every way. Our week here was the highlight of our 16 day road trip. Spacious, comfortable, clean, great location and everything we could want or need was all here. We found several specialty grocery stores within blocks, walked to University Village twice and discovered the Bryant Corner Cafe is now open for dinner. (I highly recommend it.) Ron took great care of us and was sincerely interested that we had a good visit to Seattle. We will be back!

Perfect Seattle Retreat

  • 5 of 5
We spent a wonderful Thanksgiving week in this lovely and well appointed apartment. Despite the cold weather, we were warm and cozy in this comfortable and quiet abode. Although the apartment is on the ground level of Ron's beautifully remodeled home, the large windows fill the living area, kitchen and second bedroom with light. The windows look out onto the lower yard and the woods that surround it, and sliding glass doors allow access to a small deck, the yard and a fire pit. The beds are most comfortable, the bathroom well done, and the kitchen has what you need for dining-in. As a real plus, access to the Burke - Gilman Trail system is less than a block away, which is great for walkers, runners and bikers of all ages. Impeccably clean, great location and private. Not for those who cannot comfortably do stairs or large groups.

Comfortable and Convenient

  • 5 of 5
My wife and my two sons (3yrs old and 8 month old) stayed here for a week. Ron was an excellent host. He made our stay a very pleasant experience. He shared a lot of useful information and frequently made sure that we were doing fine. This apartment was perfect for us. It gave us all the space and convenience we needed that a hotel would not provide.

I stayed at the Condo for over 30 days around June 2014. Ron is an excellent host. The condo was fabulous. I took the bus to work (UW) in the a.m., as several buses stop a couple of blocks away and I walked home each night on the nearby trail. Delightful to say the least. Great experience!!! I highly recommend this property.

Outstanding rental!

  • 5 of 5
This unit was the last stop on our 3-week trip and we were happy to land in such a wonderful spot for our few days in Seattle. Everything you could possibly want or need has been thought of in this rental. It is clean, modern, comfortable, and has many wonderful amenities to make your stay relaxing and perfect. The photos portray the unit exactly as it is, though they don't do a good job of conveying just how quiet and comfortable the unit is. We enjoyed talking with Ron and were glad to have a local contact for questions, but he and his wife were never intrusive while we were there.

The unit is down two levels from the street level so you must be able to navigate stairs to stay here. The covered parking was a nice perk on the one morning it rained. The backyard is like a park and is wonderful for morning coffee or evening meals.

The property is an easy drive into downtown Seattle and it looked to be convenient to the bus line as well, though we did not try the bus system since we had a full agenda each of the days of our stay.
