About the Owner

My name is Laurie.

I am an author, artist, muscian and mom.

The log cabin is my get-away where I write my books and movies. Its my refuge, my home away from home and my heart.

As a child, I saved a scrapbook of pictures of my dream home...

and the first moment I saw our cabin, I knew this was IT!

The smell of pines and being a minute stroll to the beach is my favorite part of being in Tahoe.

My desire is to share a yesteryear, nostalgic, homestead restored with all the fascinations of modern comfort without compromising its ambiance has come true. The hand-made, authentic, cozy log cabin duplex, boasts of spaciousness, yet intimate for two which meets my needs for alone time to create and family time to build memories. I have been coming to this log cabin for over 20 years and it still holds me captive with it's beauty.

Dreamt and believed all my life that someday I would live in a log cabin up in the mountains on a lake. Dream came realized more than vividly true, I feel BLISSFUL! :)))

Very nice, cozy cabin!

  • 4 of 5
Our stay at your log cabin was fantastic! It is such a cozy place and such a pleasure to return to after a day of sightseeing. The location was perfect--just a short walk to the beach and dog park. There were always entertaining things going on down there, yet it was so peaceful and quiet. The cabin itself was well stocked with all that we needed and wanted! It really enhanced the beauty of Lake Tahoe! It was very clean and well maintained. It was our first visit to the area, so quite a bit of time was spent just exploring the area. We highly recommend taking the gondola to Heavenly! It was well worth the price!

Real Log Cabin, real luxury!

  • 5 of 5
My 3 children, 24, 20, 16, my wife (probably shouldn't give her age in public) and myself visited the Log Cabin for a week in March of 2014. I had high expectations for the trip and the lodging what I got from the lodging was mind blowing and well above my expectations. Not often does the lodging make the trip, in this case this awesome gem really made the experience, we all felt at home there and were very comfortable, in fact we have only been gone for a few days and we all have independently stated that we miss the Log Cabin. It truly was the center piece of our trip. Everything from the attentiveness of the owner through the booking process and the prompt answering of all my questions to the actual accommodations were simply amazing. I travel often, i encourage anyone of any age to stay at this beautiful place we just loved it!!!

Owner's Response: Wow, I feel so grateful the log cabin 'made' your vacation.
I too often want to stay inside nestled, because I feel so comfy-cozy,
but the lake being so close and the beauty surrounding me beckons me
to go out and play:) Thank-you so much for your thoughts.

Better late than never... GREAT CABIN!

  • 5 of 5
My family and I stayed in this absolutely perfect cabin back in July of 2013. Finally getting around to telling everyone how wonderful this location is. We rent vacation homes frequently, and without exception this was one of the most fantastic places we have ever visited. In fact, we will be booking another stay very soon. Truly a hidden gem, and the owner is so responsive and pleasant to deal with.

Wonderful Log Cabin in South Tahoe

  • 5 of 5
We had a wonderful stay in this rustic log cabin which provides all the amenities one can think off. Laurie has thought of everything to make it comfortable to feel at home. Easy walking distance to the lake. The cabin is suitable for a romantic get-away as well as for a larger group. Good place to come to!

Incredible Place and Amazing Scenery

  • 5 of 5
The location of this cabin is absolutely perfect. In the heart of the town, but tucked away in a very scenic neighborhood setting. Upon entering the cabin we were blown away. The pictures definitely don't do the cabin justice! It's a quaint, well decorated, homey cabin that is much larger than we had initially imagined. Our favorite part was the incredible kitchen with a huge stove. We definitely utilized this space! In the morning we were able to make coffee, take a nice (and short!) walk to the lake and enjoy one of the most incredible views we've ever seen. I highly, highly recommend staying in this cabin! Additionally, the owner was more than kind and helpful in getting our reservation and stay set up. We plan on coming back!

Owner's Response: Just "Wow!",Thank-you.Our cabin is nostalgic and cozy, yet suprisingly modern. The morning "latte", (espresso maker/milk steamer),
stroll to the lake, walking on the grassy park or barefoot (or in fuzzy boots), on the sand less than 3 minutes from our front door...
I always treasure.
It is breath taking... and giving.

Location

From the Owner

It is everything I dreamt of. An authentic, home-made mountain cabin in the pines... a few steps from the sandy beach, yet near enough to the city and all its activities, that I can be away from the noise and hustle and bustle, but skiing, shopping, gambling within 5 minutes. Hand-made of the most beautiful trees from Canada. Original owner owned the original Tahoe wood mill, and hand made all the panneling, roof, doors and details. It took 5 years to build, while a whole subdivision in the neighborhood was built. The quality and uniqueness of everything about this cabin is beyond my wildest imagination. I feel swept up in a fairytale everytime I stay, and am sad to leave... and can't wait to get back!
