This 3 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment is one of six flats in a lovely historic home that has been faithfully restored to it's original grandeur with a mix of historic charm and modern flair. Featuring 2 master bedrooms, each with a Queen bed, full-closet and one with an en-suite full bath. A junior bedroom also features 2 Twin beds and a full-closet. The heart of the home is a cozy kitchen with a large eating/lounging area, flat-screen Cable TV/DVD, and WiFi. Here you'll find plenty of room for all to gather and pass an evening, host a dinner party, or settle in for a quiet dinner for two. Spacious yet intimate, the 'Americana' is perfect for families or several couples traveling together.

Before being annexed by the city of New Orleans, the town of Carrollton was a summer resort community where the well-to-do vacationed and enjoyed the shady woodlands, meadows and breezes from the nearby Mississippi river. The 'Americana' is just a stone's throw from the well-known Palmer Park, which hosts many community and cultural events with art and live music. The St. Charles Streetcar near the property is the oldest streetcar line in the world! Ride this trolley to destinations such as The French Quarter, Canal Street, Audubon Park/Zoo, Aquarium of the Americas, The Garden District, and Lafayette Cemetery. Also within walking distance is historic Oak Street and it's eclectic shops, boutiques, and various restaurants of all sorts, local groceries and pharmacies - with plenty of Southern charm!

We arrived home last night from the Big Easy a little tired, a few pounds heavier (ha ha) but full to the brim of wonderful memories. I just wanted to say “Thank you” for hosting us for our NOLA vacation.



The Americana was perfect for us and was so convenient to the festival site and everything else we wanted to see. We had such a great time and totally fell in love with your city, the neighbouhood and the lovely people that we met.



I sure hope that we get back there someday soon.



Rick thinks that next time he would love to spend a couple of months.

Beautiful apartment in a great neighborhood!

This apartment was beautiful! We enjoyed the decorations, and the small bottles of wine as a house gift. There were 6 of us and we had plenty of space. The only negative was how far it is from the French Quarter. On the Streetcar it was about 50 minutes during the busy day. Besides the distance, its location is beautiful. Right in the middle of the Garden District, the homes around the neighborhood are very historic! Overall it was a wonderful home and I would love to stay again.

not sure if I would recommend this house

We found the house to be old and run down but clean except the bathroom where there was hair all along the baseboard. The beds were very worn and hurt our backs. Worst of all the listing was not clear that this house has multiple units and this unit is on the ground floor. When the people upstairs waled it sounded like they were dropping bowling balls.

NOLA Happy

We had a pretty good stay at the Carrollton property. Location is everything n this is hard to beat. Parking was good and off street. Place was comfortable but could be a little cleaner. Ie we moved couch and it was quite messy. Also bath showers need a bit more care. Place could use a few more pieces of silverware. Luckily we brought plastic ware. Dinette needs glass table top secured. All things considered we enjoyed the stay. Decor was nice. Pleasing. Laundry was convenient. Roberts grocery was close!

Great stay for the whole family of 6 people

Easily check in with keycode. Also was able to use wifi with provided password. Off street parking available in the back while there is also the option of parking on the street. The listing description is accurate with 2 bedrooms with queen beds and 1 bedroom with 2 twin beds. The bathroom attached to the one bedroom gives plenty of space while we found the main hallway bathroom to be tight with the stand up shower and the toilet seat. If you sit on the toilet you are against the wall. But it was liveable. The property is clean and well maintained. Also manager is available by phone for any problems or questions.The available laundry costs $1 for washer and $1 for dryer which is located outside of the property in the back. The property provides detergent and dryer sheets. Also we were welcomed with several small bottles of wine and local jam. The kitchen is well equipped for any cooking you would like to do. We were too busy enjoying all the restaurant options. The St Charles streetcar is 2 blocks from the apartment and easily walkable. Also 1 mile away is local shops and restaurants. We enjoyed Louisana Pizza Kitchen one night. We had a car and were able to be in the French Quarter within 10 minutes. Parking in the French Quarter was $20 and up, so if you can catch the streetcar or a taxi. Also it is not too far from Audubon Park which is a lovely area to visit.Check in is 3pm and check out is 10am. If you wish to have an early check in at 1pm or a late check out, it will cost $35 each time for early check in or late check out. I would recommend this property to family and friends. Let the good times roll!

Nice place

We liked the location of this apartment, its in Uptown near the Garden District. It was easy to catch the St Charles bus and transfer over to the street car to head downtown! We were traveling with kids and my parents, everyone enjoyed the adventure of taking the street car! This place was very clean, loved the decor. I would definitely recommend this place to others and would consider staying here again if we visit New Orleans in the future.
