Blessed with year-round cooling sea breezes as the name suggests, Brisa del Pacifico is a luxurious 2 acre retreat located on the southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula.

Situated in the lush 25 acre eco-community of Armonia, this very private villa offers a unique sanctuary despite its proximity to the vibrant and picturesque village of Montezuma and the convenient shopping of Cobano. Relax in the salt water infinity pool with its stunning panoramic views, spend lazy days on the patio or ask Ginette, our trilingual (English, Spanish and French) property manager for her suggestions to plan all manner of adventures and excursions throughout this charming area. We're located minutes away from white sand beaches and the famous surfing beaches of Montezuma and Santa Teresa.

Each room comes complete with individually controlled energy efficient air conditioning as well as ceiling fans. The master bedroom boasts a 4 poster luxury bed, walk in closet, adjoining master bath with double granite sinks and double Jacuzzi for that luxurious soak overlooking the pool and property.

The second bedroom is furnished with a queen bed, has a walk-in closet and en-suite bathroom with double sinks and bathtub. The third bedroom, also furnished with a queen bed, has an adjacent full bathroom including a shower, with direct access to the deck and pool. All bedroom furniture is designed by the builder and hand made from local farmed laurel. Solar panels on the roof provide hot water for the house and electrical for the pool, a further testament to the eco-friendly nature of this home.

The fully equipped and spacious kitchen/great room comes with granite counters and stainless steel appliances. Large sliding glass doors lead onto a covered lanai overlooking the infinity pool and gardens, replete with flowers, fruit trees and various indigenous mature trees which are home to all manner of wildlife such as toucans, parrots and monkeys. The lanai also features outdoor ceiling fans, energy efficient lighting and comfortable lounge chairs. An outdoor shower located at one end of the pool provides a refreshing way to cool down.

Outside stairs lead up to a rooftop tiled terrace with breathtaking views of the ocean and property. A gas barbecue and outdoor sink on the terrace provide a pleasant alternative to cooking in the kitchen.

Early morning walks down nature trails to the river which runs through Armonia’s 25 acres will give you glimpses of iguanas, howler monkeys, white-faced monkeys, armadillos, toucans, hummingbirds, parrots and other wildlife.

Only 4 minutes by car, taxi or bus to the village of Montezuma, you can enjoy activities for every age group and interest: beautiful waterfalls, canopy tours, ziplining, hiking, birdwatching, Cabo Blanco and Curu Nature Reserves, sport fishing, surfing, snorkling, ocean tours to nearly islands, horseback riding, yoga, massages, concerts, restaurants, art exhibitions, and vibrant nightlife.

Brisa del Pacifico has the added distinction of being located in one of the world’s only four “blue zones”. Come and experience Costa Rica’s “pura vida” lifestyle at Brisa del Pacifico.

Wonderful getaway

  • 5 of 5
We were so excited to come here. After seeing all the nice pictures and reading the great reviews, we were so ready for our vacation. In advance we exchanged several emails with Siobhan and Hugues and received very detailed and helpful information regarding the house and surroundings. So we thought we are well prepared what to expect but when we arrived even our 2 teenaged kids gaped with their mouths open. What a beautiful place! Gina, the property manager was greeting us with a very warm welcome and showed us around answering every question and giving tips where to eat locally. We loved the layout of the house; it feels like home being away from home. Everything you might need is provided; it is clean, cozy, and comfortable.
We had breakfast on the patio every morning during our 8 day stay; often we stayed half of the day and enjoyed the great pool watching wildlife from the early morning to dusk. There are so many different species of birds to find. We saw up to 6 toucans in the papaya tree; those are very funny creatures. We had at least 2 coatis visiting the property regularly; they just walked by, mainly ignoring us. We saw and more often heard howler monkeys in the trees.
We visited different places: the Saturday market, little stores and restaurants in Montezuma; Cabuya- which has some nice little restaurants and great café and you can by fresh local fish; Playa Santa Teresa, Playa Hermosa, Cobano. We all enjoyed zip lining and jumping the waterfall. We went on a day snorkeling trip and also visited Reserva Natural Cabo Blanco. There are so many things to see and to do but we always came back fairly soon to enjoy the pool and relaxing patio again. We are very thankful getting such an opportunity for a wonderful family vacation. Everyone had an amazing time and we would love to comeback sooner than later! Thank you!

Owner's Response: What a wonderful review Kristen, thank you! We are thrilled that your family had such a great time here; it truly is an unspoiled and marvelous region of Costa Rica.

I’m glad you were able to see so much wildlife. The other day while we were eating lunch on the patio we saw two white faced monkeys not 10 feet from us, one of them scampering up the papaya tree to steal a fruit, the other standing guard. Their little escapade was over in a minute, and although we didn’t have time to grab our cameras the memory is certainly etched in our minds! We are up with the sun every morning and find it’s the best time to see many species of hummingbirds, magpie jays, doves, parrots and toucans, to name just a few. Butterflies abound, and of course we have many coatis (pizote in Spanish) who come for a daily visit to see if there’s anything interesting going on. Howler monkeys can be heard daily, and seem partial to making appearances in the trees near the end of the house where our laundry facilities are located. All in all, it’s very difficult to spend a few days here without seeing an abundance of wildlife.

Gini is wonderful, isn’t she? After living here for 27 years she knows everyone and everything in the region, and always ensures our guests have the best that the region has to offer. We have her on speed dial! And thank you for the detailed description of the many wonderful activities that can be found in the region. We really hope to see you all back here again very soon!

Owner's Response: You were our first honeymoon couple, Kelsey and Mike, and we are thrilled that you chose Brisa del Pacifico to launch your lives together! As you so correctly noted, our house is a lovely sanctuary, away from the hustle and noise of everyday life. Although we are conveniently located close to both Montezuma and Cobano, the lush vegetation and Armonia’s 25 acres of natural beauty ensure both peace and privacy!

Gini, our property manager, works hard to ensure all of our guests are given the 5 star treatment, so we appreciate your approval! We hope to welcome you back to Brisa del Pacifico in the very near future. Pura vida!

We could not have asked for a better place to stay then at the "Brisa del Pacifico" for our vacation to the Nicoya Peninsula in late March / early April of this year. The house was well maintained and very comfortable in a private eco community that is surrounded by nature at its best, and with the stunning views from the beautiful salt water pool, you will truly think you are in "Heaven"!, Many mornings were just spent at the pool area taking in the view and the abundant bird wildlife, saying, "it doesn't get any better than this" !

What really sold us to come here however, were the owners, Siobhan and Hugues. From the very outset of our inquiry to the property, they went out of their way to answer our numerous e mails...I can tell you, you won't go wrong dealing with theses wonderful people and the info they sent us covered everything we needed to know about the rental and the area in general. I have leased a number of times before using Home Away, and can tell you, there is no one more thorough then these owners in covering your concerns and needs. Absolutely, the best!

As far as activities, we hardly ever stayed put, visiting the 'Curu Wildlife reserve" for a day of hiking and a great meal next to the visitor shop. You will need reservations for a meal, but we just asked when we finished our first hike and they took us in. Also, took the long hike to the beach at the Cabo Blanco Nature reserve. A 4 hour round trip, but a must, for the breath taking views of the beach and the nature of the park... A trip out to the Isle of Tortuga by boat is also a must. Arrange through Eco tours in Montezuma, as Gini the property manager said they were the best and they were!. Also consider going to the Cabo Blanco Butterfly farm. A little off the path in Cabuya, but definitely worth it. You can then stop for a smoothie or a great meal at the Panaderia restaurant on your way back to Cabuya... We stopped there 3 times, as it was so relaxing and enjoyable.

Bottom line, there is just so much to do and see in the Nicoya area, that there is no question, you will love it here! You will definitely be making the right choice with this property and its wonderful owners!!!

We had a blast!!!

Everything We Could Wish Fentlyor

How do we put into words a holiday that surpassed all our hopes?

Organising our stay by direct contact with the owners was a great start. They answered all our questions, gave good advice about car hire and reassured us that all our needs would be met.

Despite arriving at night, following the detailed instructions we had been given which avoided any possibility of a wrong turn we were met by our friendly local host, Gini, who showed us round, explained all the essentials and then left us to relax.

Supper under the stars serenaded by cicadas, followed by an evening jacuzzi left us ready for a comfortable night's rest in the luxurious bed. And that set the tone for the rest of our stay. We woke with the sunrise for swims before breakfast in the chemical free water of the pool, as the parrots chased each other between the palm trees, then feasted on pineapples and bananas before settling down to read and swim, relaxing on the sunloungers or retiring to the shade of the wide veranda in the hottest part of the day.

Gini arranged visits from the maid to suit our needs, Jamie came to tend to the pool and garden, timing his visits to coincide with our trips out so that we would find the pool sparkling on our return and the terrace plants watered without any impingement on our activities when we were 'at home'. And that was what felt so fantastic. It was like a home from home, with everything we could have needed provided - from cooking pans to towels of different kinds for pool, beach and bathroom, to jigsaw puzzles and books to read. Wildlife visited so frequently that we always lay out with binoculars and identification charts (also provided).

Gini was a fund of information on the other end of the phone (free local calls) on places to shop, eat out, or visit, checking that we had everything without being intrusive. We found local restaurants in Montezuma where we could eat traditional food rather than international cuisine - although that was available had we wanted it. In Cobano we found fresh vegetables for salads from a choice of supermarkets, greengrocers and markets.

We explored the peninsula and found white sand beaches, rocks and fantastic surfing breakers. At Cabo Blanco we walked to the pacific, quite a hike, but well worth it. Elsewhere we discovered waterfalls and swam in fresh water pools in the jungle.

This was the perfect, quiet relaxation we needed and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting away from it all time.

Owner's Response: Tiggy and James, thank you so much for such a glowing review! And we're thrilled you have booked another month with us next year. We really hope someday to meet some of the friends we've met through Brisa del Pacifico - such a diverse, interesting and friendly group of people from all over the world!
Your description touched on all the things we hold dear - tranquility, proximity to small centres to cover all our needs, and the stunning surroundings. And yes, we depend on Gini and Jaime very much, and we thank you for noticing their hospitality and warmth.
We look forward to touching base with you over the following months until your next trip!

Beautiful house with infinity pool!

Our first impression of this property was that the photos online had not done it justice. We were very impressed with the tranquility and privacy of the location.
My husband was up every morning at sunrise taking photos from the roof deck. The flora and fauna were just what we had hoped to see.
Our kids, ages 17 & 20, we're very happy here. The highlights of our trip were the zip line adventure and dancing at "the club" in Montezuma on New Years Eve!
Highly recommend staying here.

True Paradise

All 6 of us had an amazing time at Brisas del Pacifico. We wished we could have stayed longer, and will definitely rent his house again.
The owners and property manager answered every question we had ahead of time and were very helpful in planning our stay.
Gini the property manager met us on arrival and showed us around the house and told us everything we would need to know, as well she gave us her cell phone and told her to call for anything at all, even translating services if we needed it!
The house is laid out with the kitchen and living room being the main entrance point with the master bedroom on the left. To get to the other 2 bedrooms you go outside where they each have their private entrance with a sliding glass door out to the patio. This was laid out perfectly for our group of 3 couples, with lots of privacy for each room!
We spent almost all our time on the beautiful patio or in the pool, definitely our favorite part of the villa. We never sat inside the entire week, and were only in the kitchen to cook and then our rooms to sleep.
The house is located about a five minute drive to two different towns. Cabano and Montezuma. We found ourselves driving into one town or the other each day to pick up fresh groceries. Montezuma is located on a beach and is a nice town with lots of tourists. We found most people spoke English, and everyone was very polite. We had dinner a few times in Montezuma, but once we found Puggos Restaurant we kept going there for amazing food and a full sushi bar. We drove to other nearby towns as well.
The house was decorated nicely and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped. Each room had its own ensuite, although one was located just outside the room.
The scenery was amazing and the wildlife incredible. Zipling is an absolute must-do, along with jumping in the waterfalls.
The house took a long time to get to, we flew in to San Jose and rented a car, drove to the ferry and then took the ferry over and drove again, but the drive and ferry are absolutely worth it! Renting a car is pretty important, as you could walk in to Montezuma, but the hill down is very steep, curvy and long, and the walk back up would be hard.
We felt perfectly safe in the house and in the area, although they did have Heime (the maintenance man and extra security) living next door.
This was an amazing vacation and we will absolutely go back to this villa and this area.

Owner's Response: Kandis, thank you so much for your detailed descriptions and helpful suggestions on what to do and where to eat. We’re thrilled that you all enjoyed yourselves! We agree wholeheartedly that the charm of Costa Rican life is living outdoors, and we fell in love with this house because of its location, its privacy and also the layout, which allows effortless communion with nature. Thank you for recognizing Gini, who does a superlative job of ensuring our guests are comfortable in all respects – we’re very lucky to have her. Finally, we’re so glad you’re planning on returning – there are so many things to do in the area that a second (and third) trip are almost mandatory!! Looking forward to seeing you again soon!
