January is value season for many of Orlando's main attractions, including Universal Studios and Walt Disney World. Yep, cheap January vacations really can happen at the theme park! Prices can drop by 34%, making it easier to afford the trip. While the value season means fewer guests and shorter lines, it also means shorter hours. At the beaches you'll find fewer crowds, too. Most locals find the weather a bit too chilly to swim, but snowbirds often dip their toes in the ocean or swim in heated pools. Even if you don't get in the water, there are plenty of things you can do along the coast. Collect shells, spend the day fishing, or enjoy watching the sun set. If you rent a home in the area, you can take your fresh catch back to the fully equipped kitchen where you can prepare it just the way you like it.
