Ski Trip Packing List

ski trip packing listAspen? Park City? The Alps? Where is the best place to go for your ski trip? You'll have to decide that one yourself. This article will help you create a ski trip packing list, ensuring that when you do decide where you're going, you'll have everything that you need to make this the best ski trip of your life.

The Basics

Your ski trip packing list will have something in common with that box in storage with the words "Winter Clothes" written on it. You're going to want to go through that box and make sure you have the right kind of clothing for your trip. Ski pants, ski coat, gloves, mask, goggles, skis, poles (if you use them), and hand/foot warmers. These are the basic items that will be on any ski vacation packing list.

Overlooked Items

If you're planning to take a ski trip with other people, make sure to pack walkie-talkies. Not only do these devices give you a fun way to keep in touch with each other in the mountains, they'll help ensure that no one in your party gets lost. Make sure that you bring your MP3 player along with you. It will help you let go of the outside world as you cruise down the mountain with your favorite tunes jamming in your ears. If you're staying in a fabulous vacation rental like a condo, resort, or house  that has a hot tub or swimming pool on site, you'll want to pack your swimsuit. It feels so good to come home from a long day on the slopes and relax in the hot tub. Speaking of relaxing, don't forget to pack warm, comfortable clothes for the evening. You may also want to bring that long-neglected paperback that's been collecting dust on your nightstand at home. Here's your chance to get cozy in your vacation rental, indulge in a glass of wine, and get lost in a great book.

Toiletries

Plenty of people forget to pack their prescription medicines, over-the-counter medicines, and moleskin. It's easy to forget  these essential items if you're packing at the last minute. Lip balm and sunscreen are important must-haves, so be sure to put them on your ski trip packing list. If you'll be flying on a commercial airline to your destination, keep small containers of gels and liquids in a clear quart-size plastic bag so that you will make it past airport security without any problems.
