Make a Splash This Spring

So, it’s a bit cliché to spend Spring Break on the beach, but there’s good reason sunbathers come out right as the flowers start to bloom. Catch those first rays of glorious sunshine before they can give you a first-degree burn. From Gulf Shores, Alabama to Miami to Cancun, beaches around the world are inspiring their devotees to dust off the jet skis, surf boards, swim trunks and bikinis. If you don’t mind sharing the sun with thrones of other potentially raucous Spring Breakers, your destination options are just about endless. If you’re picky about how soft the sand is, how blue the water is, and how many other beach towels and umbrellas litter the shore, however, look a bit deeper. Remote islands like Caladesi (in Florida) or lesser-known paradises like Tulum, Mexico are just two examples of where you'll find sand and surf that's as private as it is picturesque.

Big Fun in the Big City

The Capitol Building in DC, Time Square in New York City, the Space Needle in Seattle… sightseeing on Spring Break is like sightseeing any other time of year, except more comfortable, thanks to the temperate weather of spring. A trip to a major metropolis is easy to customize for any group – families, gal pals, couples, and anyone else for that matter can find something to do in the big city. With a Boston vacation house or New York City condo rental, you'll save enough cash for a shopping spree, show tickets, and museum passes.

Visit a National Park

For some reason, we often forget about the Great Outdoors when we head out of town. But hundreds and hundreds of beautiful national and state parks are scattered all over North America. And what better time to visit one than when the weather is so manageable? Hike Yosemite, ride a horse through the Grand Canyon, or watch the sunset at Yellowstone!

Ride a Roller Coaster

If the crowds don’t get on your last nerve, a theme park vacation is a simple way to keep everyone in your group, young and old, smiling! Disney area rentals make it cheap and convenient to enjoy all the attractions of Orlando, not only Disney World. If you live on the West Coast, spend a day or two at Disneyland. Plan to visit Texas? Check out SeaWorld in San Antonio. And of course, you can always track down nearby Six Flags and Universal Studios parks for a quick getaway.

Spring Break Vacatin Ideas Golf

Green Enough for Golf

Take a swing this spring on some of America's loveliest courses. If your travel companions aren't so enthusiastic about your favorite sport, choose a destination with lots more to do than golf, like Florida or Arizona.

Springtime Skiing

Ironically, hitting the slopes is nearly as popular as hitting the beach on Spring Break! Depending on your destination, some of the best terrain falls from the sky (or is pumped out of snow-making machines) this time of year. Before waving goodbye to winter for good, get the adrenaline pumping one last time with alpine adventures in Whistler Blackcomb, Winter Park, and Lake Tahoe!

Just Drive

While gas prices are bound to put a dent in your pocket book, driving's still more affordable flying. So, pack up the fam in the minivan and take to the road this Spring Break! Make a few pit stops in vacation homes along the way, and you can easily stretch your dollars for a week away from it all. Discover the many sides of California, tour New England, or spend some quality time in the South. You'll see more scenery and sights than you could on any other vacation by letting off the brakes for Spring Break.

Find a Great Festival

All kinds of cool and unique events, activities, and festivals happen on Spring Break, so do a little research and pick out ones that intrigue you. From South by Southwest in Austin to the Spring Break Fat Tire Festival in Ocala, something really fun (and possibly free) is going on in your hometown or just outside it.
