Another great stay at the Kona Bali Kai

Review submitted: November 18, 2013   Date of arrival: October 26, 2013

Another great stay at the Kona Bali Kai.

Beautiful condo with great view, our second stay in this complex, staying in units managed by Holly. We stayed for a week and enjoyed every aspect of the facility. Wonderful ocean view, keep your eyes open for dolphins and other sea life from the lani no telling what you might see. The facility is nicely decorated and upgraded, the highlight is the wonderful furniture on the balcony, Hollies touches are everywhere. As with the previous unit the kitchen is equipped with more than you expect at a regular time share, you will find extras beyond pots and pans to include foil and plastic wrap and basic spices and seasoning, to make using the kitchen easer. The unit was also equipped with beach fair, chairs Boogey boards etc which is great. We had slight problems with check in (our fault) We had scheduled a 1300 meeting time with Holley to get the keys however due to Mokulele airlines being unable to keep a schedule we were delayed until 1900 hours, Holly was very understanding and helpful she made alternate arrangements to transfer the keys to us and come by the next morning to collect the rent. Complexes pool was down for repairs for a day which did not affect us as we did not use although it appeared to be utilized by other guests. Our stay was great and I would and have recommended to others. If you’re looking for a nice condo with a great location to base your Kona vacation on this place is great however if you are looking for a full service resort this may not be your best choice.
The Kona Bali Kai has a decent pool and hot tub, nice BBQ facilities that appear to be well maintained, great ocean access but not good for swimming, on site management and security, great parking a small restaurant and surf shop, tourist desk and close access to a popular surf brake. Other bars and restaurant s are not close so you need a car but I cannot imagine a Big Island vacation without a car.

Recommend, Splashes Ocean Adventures (don’t miss the manta ray tour), snorkeling at the city of refuge (2 step), the Bangkok house for Thai food .

Recommend you avoid Mokulele airlines they can’t keep a schedule and don’t care, and the Kona Taeng on Thai not good.
We will be back

Beautiful condo, even down to the details, perfectly accurate photos

Review submitted: August 29, 2013   Date of arrival: August 19, 2013

What you see in the pictures is exactly what you'll get. Absolutely lovely. Yes, it is as pristine as the photos show. What you can't see are the finer details, such as a quality mattress, good sheets and towels, full-stocked kitchen utensils and the sound of the ocean. The conceriege at the Kon Bali Kai was very helpful as an added bonus. I can't wait to return, and have already recommended this specific unit to friends and family. It was perfect for our family of 4.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Kona Bali Kai-#221-Great place to stay!

Review submitted: July 11, 2013   Date of arrival: June 12, 2013

Our stay in your unit was most enjoyable! The condo is beautifully decorated and comfortably furnished. We looked forward to watching the sunset every evening on the lanai. Places to snorkel and tennis courts are nearby. We rode bikes into Kona for our coffee time! I would not hesitate to recommend this unit to friends and relatives who want to visit the Big Island.

Great experience on Kona Coast

Review submitted: April 24, 2013   Date of arrival: April 1, 2013

We stayed for two weeks in this Condo with another couple. One bedroom much larger than other so we each took a week in bigger bedroom.

Sound of surf awesome and tidal pool just below. Plenty of turtles and fish to observe. This was the end of whale watching season but we did see whales on our first day. Condo provided binoculars which was nice.

Kitchen extremely well stocked. Ziploc bags to laundry detergent to full rack
of spices. Condo also had beach chairs, insulated lunch bag, beach towels for outings.

The Poke (fish) restaurant is downstairs and a favorite of locals.

Our rental agent followed through with all promised. Rent deposit check received in timely fashion.

Would recommend to family/friends.
