Paw Paw's Place... A Great Place

Review submitted: August 30, 2012   Date of arrival: August 17, 2012

My wife and I like to do long weekend get aways at or around the Suwannee area, at least once or twice a year. We've never been to Ichetucknee springs and heard it was a great place. So on line I went, and came across Paw Paw's Place. We love staying in cabins, river homes, etc. in stead of hotels.

Paw Paw's Place was exactly what we were looking for. It was off the beaten path. Way off the beaten path! (I loved that). Billie sent me great directions and instruction on how to get into the cabin. When we got inside we found the place to be spotless. I'm mean super clean. Bathrooms were immaculate. Bedrooms were perfect, (and comfortable). Heck I told my wife that the towels were nicer than the one's at our house!

The screened in deck was PERFECT every morning for drinking coffee and watching the sun rise. We really loved that. One morning it rained. We sat out there and watched the rain, enjoying a slow start for that day. What the heck... Isn't that what vacations are supposed to be for? We didn't want to leave.

If you are thinking of getting in tune with nature. Rent Billie and Scott's, Paw Paw's Place. It's a great place, and a great price.

My husband and I needed a get-away badly, I found Paw Paw's online and was most excited. It was so easy to find and what a great location! The layout of the house was perfect and the amenities were great too! When we arrived the house was very clean and ready to go. We brought our boat so we were able to tie up to the floating dock for easy access to when we wanted to tool the river...It was awesome! We visited several springs and even did some fishing. I will certianly recommend Paw Paw's to my closest friends and family. We will so be back in the Spring.
Oh and one other thing...the owners of the house are great people to work with. They responded quickly and were very very nice!

Thanks PAW PAW's- See ya in the spring!

As a soldier about to deploy, I couldn't have picked a more relaxing way to spend one of my last weeks home. This place felt like a home away from home. Awesome access to the river and a ton of things to do at the cabin. The dock was great place to seat outside at night a see a million stars! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

We had a wonderful time here. The place is clean, a beautiful spot along the river. We went out on the provided canoe, fished, enjoyed the porch, had outdoor BBQ and open pit hot dog roast, and forgot time and city life. The place is decorated delightfully. A true treasure for those who want to get away from it all.

Wonderful Cabin on the River

My husband and I stayed at Paw Paw's Place for a very relaxing weekend. What a great find! The cabin overlooks the river and is well stocked, clean, and comfortable. We used the canoe which comes with the rental for a sunset paddle. We drank our coffee on the screened in porch overlooking the river. We loved that Paw Paw's is pet friendly, and our dog had a great time running in the ample yard. My husband was very happy to find the foosball table in the game room, a favorite of his! Plenty to do nearby, as far as state parks for hiking and biking. Also there are freshwater springs for swimming. Very easy to just relax also. Billie was a great host and accomodated us last minute. Great overall experience, we highly recommend!

We took the kids for Spring Break to stay at Paw Paw's Place. They had the best week and so did we!! There was so much for them to do between the river, boating, the game room and nature in general. For us, it was just relaxing. We enjoyed sitting out on the screened porch having our coffee each morning. You could see & hear all the nature. The house was completely furnished, there was nothing we needed! We enjoyed it so much, we booked another weekend for just the two of us! Great place to stay, located close to any & everything, yet you feel like you are miles away from the rest of the world! Can't wait to go back.

At the last minute my husband and I decided to "go to the river". We love going for the day and have stayed many times for the weekend with friends and family at various places. I have had Paw Paw's place saved on my "favorites" for a while and decided to give them a call. It was the best luck ever. Billie was so gracious and we were able to stay "at the last minute". I have to say that this place is peaceful and more relaxing than any other place I've been in a long time. Fortunately is not a long drive for us and the boat ramp is very convenient. It doesn’t' take long to get to town if needed either. This is home away from home. Comfortable beds too. Thank you Billie for allowing us to stay. We will be back soon. Betty Ann & Tommy
P.S. the ping pong and fuse ball were the most fun!!

Paw Paw’s Place is a true hidden vacation getaway. The property is loaded with activities that kept everyone entertained our entire stay. In addition, the charm is remarkable; from the usable utensils on the kitchen walls to the amazing headboard in the bedroom. Finally, there is low traffic on the river in this area, so we felt as if we owned it. If you love the River or just want to have a great time, I highly recommend Paw Paw’s Place.
