DON'T RENT this house!!!!!!

dziemik19 (wallington nj)
Review submitted: January 2, 2013   Date of arrival: December 29, 2012

DON'T RENT THIS HOUSE!!!!!!
The stove had broken glass panels. It has a large dining table unfortunately, some of the dining chairs were broken. It has outdoor JACUZZI ONLY FOR 3 OR 4 MAXIMUM PEOPLE NOT FOR 6. Unfortunately, the filter did not work and we had to drain and refill the tub twice during the weekend. It has old hardwood floors that were unfortunately covered with dirty, dusty rugs. BEDROOMS were dirty small and nusty beds were broken. It has beautiful, tall windows that let in natural light. Unfortunately, the windows were filthy. The description of the home includes "child friendly". Unfortunately, simple child proofing installments such as outlet covers (as in the plate that goes over the outlet) were not all there. IN SUMMARY, THE HOUSE THAT APPEARED SO INVITING AND WARM IN THE DESCRIPTION AND PHOTOGRAPHS WAS A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Owners response: Let me tell you that I rented this house to a group of 19 year olds for New Years Eve. This was a big mistake on my part, they destroyed my house, it took 2 days to get it back in shape. Some issues, they broke multiple panes of glass in a beautiful circular wood burning stove, this was done because they were rough housing and fell against the stove (probably drunk). They broke a king size bed in one of the bedrooms, there was alcohol sprayed all over the walls, floors and ceiling, they moved every bit of furniture and left garbage everywhere. Again, look at the age group, this is why owners do not rent to teens because of there lack of responsibility.

They admitted to the damage and paid an additional sum to cover the damage on top of their forfieted security. Then they have the nerve to submit this review becaue they were angry that they had to pay for their stupidity. Please take their review at face value from a group of undesciplined and ignorant kids.

Please read the other reviews for this house and let them speak for the houses condition.

Review submitted: September 25, 2012   Date of arrival: August 24, 2012

This house has great potential. It has a great room with a wood burning stove right in the middle of it. Unfortunately, the stove had broken glass panels. It has a large dining table which is great for family meals. Unfortunately, some of the dining chairs were broken. It has a really nice outdoor jacuzzi. Unfortunately, the filter did not work and we had to drain and refill the tub twice during the weekend. It has beautiful, hardwood floors that were unfortunately covered with dirty, dusty rugs. It has beautiful, tall windows that let in natural light. Unfortunately, the windows were filthy. The description of the home includes "child friendly". Unfortunately, simple child proofing installments such as outlet covers (as in the plate that goes over the outlet) were not all there. In summary, the house that appeared so inviting and warm in the description and photographs was a big disappointment.

Very unhappy with this house. I can do old..., but dust, cobwebs, mold in the front side of the house, and little black worms in the bedrooms, no! We paid a cleaning fee, i had to take my own towel and clean the floor and steps! The bedrooms are downstairs, there were little black worms crawling on the laundry room to the bedrooms. My daughter had to vacuum them. I'm sorry about this review, but i chose this house because the reviews that i read before.

Owners response: This house was just exterminated as part of our quarterly visits a few days before the customers arrival. The worms that were mentioned came out due to that treatment. The house is located in the mountains and bugs are definite present. The green moss/algie was growing on the vinyl siding in a small area, due to a very wet area near the house. All of my houses are kept in very good condition, unfortunately you cannot please all of the people all of the time.

We usually stay at the house on Linden Ave. but do to the availability had to change to a "new house". Other than some small issues, we were very pleased to try a new house. After our stay, we had a vote to see which house we wanted to rent next year. And the winning house was...... you'll have to decide for yourself. We had an issue with the outdoor grill, I made a call to Tony, and the next day we had a replacement grill delivered. We cook every night on the grill so we were very pleased at the quick response, thank you Tony.

A bunch of friends and I booked this house for a weekend to relax. The house is big and easily accomodated all 14 people. The HOT TUB was the best part. The house is in a beautiful location and safe, safe safe! We do not have kids but I can see this home a perfect place for a family getaway. We went to The Crossings for shopping, and skiing and wine tasting are all close by. The deck of the house is HUGE and the house have beautiful HUGE windows all around. If this house is too large for your group send an email to the owners they are wonderful people and they will have other options for you; all equally great-trust me I rented from them few times and I was not once disappointed!

Review submitted: February 21, 2012   Date of arrival: February 17, 2012

My husband, my friends and I loved Tony's home. The home was very rustic but it had all the amenities we needed. We loved the warm hot tub, which was perfect against the starry night. We also loved the interesting fireplace in the center of the room, which spread it's warm evenly around the room. We also loved the 30+ bottles of Jack Daniels arranged on top of the kitchen cabinets. This place is perfect for a large group of friends.

The house is very spacious, cozy, clean, and the fireplace in the middle of the living room is beautiful! The hot tub outside is a perfect size and can be viewed from the living room. It was perfect for my large group. Tony is very easy to work with and wonderful as well. If you need anything at any point in your stay, Tony is more than happy to come to the house and accommodate your needs. My son, daughter, son's girlfriend and myself stayed at this house for a long weekend and we had a great time. The house is large so we had enough room to not get on each other's nerves! The young adults really enjoyed the hot tub. The TV was great; the games were fun to play. Honestly, there is nothing I can say that was missing in the house or anything that we needed that wasn't there. Owners are also very nice, prompt and organized. It was great to deal with them and we highly recommend this house!

Review submitted: July 17, 2011   Date of arrival: July 9, 2011

We found the house to be very accomodating for our 14-member family reunion - plenty of space, 2 bathrooms, newer appliances, 2 refrigerators which is quite handy for larger groups, a beautiful deck, and hottub. Go for walks around the peaceful community to see the deer and spend a few days at the Boulder lake beach. Activities are generally within a half hour drive of the house - zipline, white water rafting, Camelbeach water park and Tannersville outlet mall. Had a great time! Tony was very helpful and informative! Thanks!!

The deck area had plenty of comfortable seats and the hot tub was a big hit with the kids. Great get away with kids and the foosball table was in use throughout the stay. The Skirmish Paintball was a great attraction in the neighborhood. This was my first time at this house and overall we had a great time. I will definitley recommend this house and plan to rent this again. Tony thanks for everything and we totally appreciate extending the checkout time.

I would recommend this house to everyone. This is my 4th year renting with Anthony Lillo. This year was the first time I rented this house and I loved it. There were a total of 10 people staying at the house. We all felt comfortable with the house. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The deck had a great view and the hot tub was always fun. The house had everything we needed. It was a home away from home.

We had last minute guests show up and Anthony made sure that security let them in. He always was helpful and made the trip easy to plan. I will be renting from him again next year and would everyone interested in one of his properties.

bright, comfortable house

Review submitted: August 13, 2010   Date of arrival: August 7, 2010

We only had 2 nights & were coming from different states, so we met at the lake of Hickory Run state park and then drove the 20-30 minutes to the house after the check-in time @ 4.

the 4 BR's are downstairs w/ extra refrigerator, the upstairs has 1 MBR, the large open living/kitchen area and a big deck with the large hot tub. the upstairs had lots of windows, so it was nice & bright. the kitchen table was nice and large so we could all eat.

my only minor complaint is that the 2nd bathroom is inside the MBR off the kitchen, so the 4 BR's downstairs generally share the 1 bathroom (unless the folks in the MBR aren't late risers or early-to-bed'ers & are willing to share)

the deck area had plenty of comfortable seats and the large grill worked great

the hot tub & the foosball table were big hits too!

enjoy!

There were 14 of us spending the weekend and as soon as we walked in we fell in love with the layout of the house. The living room/kitchen/hangout area was great for a group as large as ours, we spent, if not all, except sleeping in that room. The upstairs was so spacious and the fireplace right in the middle of the room made it so nice and different. Overall experienCe was great and the ski slopes were only 20mins from the house.

Good spot for a skiing getaway with friends

Weekend Ski Trip (NY)
Review submitted: February 19, 2010   Date of arrival: February 5, 2010

I rented this place with 15 of my friends for a weekend ski trip. The house is large and spacious and very close to Big Boulder or Jack Frost ski areas, and there was more than enough driveway space to accomodate six cars.

There were two or three chairs that were slightly damaged when we got there and the foosball table was a bit wobbly (it looked like it had been repaired after the legs had been damaged), but overall the accomodations were very good.

Tony was extremely friendly and accomodating for our party. The process for renting the house was very smooth and went along without any confusion whatsoever.

We had a wonderful vacation. My husband, daughters and their boyfriends rented this house for a week. There were 10 of us. We wanted a big house where there was enough room for everyone. This house has so much space. Enough privacy for everyone. Aside from privacy, the house is beatutiful. Everything you may need is provided. The fireplace was exceptional as was the hot tub after skiing. The temperature at the beginning of the week was 0 - 7 degrees with snow. Very scenic, lots of wildlife. Close to the ski slopes and stores. Tony and Deborah were great to work with: really nice people. This is a fantastic vacation house for a group of people to get together. We highly recommend this rental and would rent it again.

Our first time to the Poconos.
What a trip. We came from Florida and the rest of our family and friends came from Maine - Washington State and
Connecticut.
10 of us, all told, had a fantastic Christmas. The House was so spacious that we weren't on top of one another
even a capacity of 14 would have left so much room.
The Deer roaming outside added to the touch of Christmas along with the snow.
We certainly could not have picked a better Place.
The House was so warm and comfortable ( more so with the fireplace ) even though the wind chill factor outside was minus 25 degrees.
Fantastic time.
Would do it again.

If you're headed to the Poconos.... you have to check out this house and its very reasonable rental rates. This is the second time we've rented this house and we will do it again. The wood stove, hot tub, and the spacious deck are great. The back yard is big enough to have a good game of booce (bring your own if you can). The foosball table could use a "tune up." There are also 2 regrigerators which is perfect for larger crowds.

Michigan. Well worth it. The house was
conveniently located to many of the things we
wanted to do, including rafting on the Lehigh River,
biking on the Lehigh River Gorge Trail, hiking in
Hickory Run State Park, and shopping at the artsy
shops in Jim Thorpe and the outlet places in
Tannersville. Our children loved the hot tub and
the community pool, and especially enjoyed riding
their bikes around at dusk to see all the deer. A
nice place to stay; would definitely rent here again.

Among our ranks were business owners, middle school educators, high school principal and vice-principal, a military officer, and an asst. superintendent of schools who all desperately needed an oasis from stress and that's exactly what we got. Tony and Deborah were the consomate hosts and went out of their way to ensure our comfort. We are ready to resign on the dotted line for a return trip. The hot tub alone was worth it all, and the beautiful scenery was spectacular. All of the teachers give this trip an A plus!!

Thanks for everything!!

Dear Tony and Deb,

Thank you so much for letting us stay at your amazing spacious house. Everyone had plenty of room in our company of eleven people. The house has everything anyone ever needs. My favorite things were the fireplace and jacuzzi. I had a wonderful vacation! I would recommend this place to all of my friends, and I will definitely consider renting it again next year.

Best regards,

What an absolutely wonderful house for a family vacation! We loved the spacious living area which gave us all plenty of room to spread out and read our books. Our week in August turned out to be rainy and cool so we had the fireplace going for 3 days and were cozy warm. The kids had a great time going in the hot tub. The deck is great with plenty of room to kick back and enjoy the view. We also had fun feeding the deer from the deck. There’s plenty of deck furniture plus outdoor games (nice bonus). The house is very clean and well kept and the homeowners are always on call if you have a question. I would highly recommend this house for vacation.

We would like to thank the Lillos' for providing a very nice, affordable vacation home with all the amenities you could want. There was plenty of room for all of us and the hot tub was used on a daily basis. We enjoyed the beach at the Main Lake and loved watching the many deer that wandered around the area. We had one rainy day and the kids board games that were here came in handy. We would rent again in the future

Tony and Deb:

This was our first experience renting a home in the Poconos, so we were somewhat anxious about doing all this on line. However, when we walked into the house and went upstairs, we found that it looked just like the pictures on the website. Everything was clean and well maintained. The kitchen was stocked with everything anyone would ever need to prepare meals during their stay. It made our stay quite comfortable, considering we were cooking for 10 high school girls. The accommodations were great.....all the girls were comfortable. They especially loved the hot tub and being able to go out onto the deck at night. We used the grill and prepared a meal for our home and our neighbor's student home, easily feeding 27 total people and never feeling crowded!

Thank you for a wonderful experience. I will recommend your home to anyone wanting to spend time in the Poconos.

Our family rented this home for this
past Christmas Hoilday. Everything went well, even down to the planning. The owners were very informational and truly kind. They went above and beyond to make our vacation a Christmas to remember. We felt at home as we walked in. The country style living with the cozy fireplace just made our stay even more satisfying.

The warm outdoor HotTub was just the
icing on the cake. It was a very spacious and relaxing way to celebrate the Holidays. I would sincerely recommend this house to anyone who's looking to feel at home away from home.

I would like to thank Tony Lillo for the unforgettable time that we spent in his rental house. We often rent houses with my friends, but the atmosohere in this 5 bedroom house in the Poconos was more than welcomming.
All 7 people that were in the party had great time all together in the family room and privately as the house is HUGE.

Tony and Debbie forseen everything from the jacuzzi(that was GTREAT HIT after skiing) to the smallest pieces in the FULLY EQUIPPRED KITCHEN.

We will certainly come back.

Again THANK YOU.

First off, it was a pleasure dealing with Tony and Debbie, they were very nice to deal with and everything in the house was great as described. The house was close by to Skirmish as they had stated and the house was able to hold a large group of people comfortably. The location and house were great, wish I had more time off to stay longer. Also the house was very clean! Highly Recommend it and can't wait to go back.

There were 12 of us that just came back from this house. We were very pleased with the home and it's furnishings. It was cozy and comfortable, stocked with games, videos, and very clean!!!! The property was secluded, making us feel like we were alone in the mountains. Some of the homes in the community were a bit shabby, making us worry about what we were getting in to, but as soon as we saw the property and house, we knew we were in the right place. We recommend the house for a large family or a couple families. Thanks, Tony and Debbie, for being available for any questions and checking in with us to make sure our stay was enjoyable.. Sandy

This is a GREAT home if you want to get away to a place which makes you feel at home instantly. It has everything you want from a vacation home.
I personally brought a group of 14 college guys on our yearly skiing trip.
The guys loved the place.
The Jaccuzzi ROCKS! (Even in the middle of a snowstorm - really!)
Tony the owner is a pleasure to deal with, a professional, and very accomodating.
I did alot of research on Pocono Vacation homes, and this is actually one of the BEST priced homes available in its class, especially for its centralized location.
WE'll be seeing this place again!
Thanks!

The hot tub was a huge hit, it snowed on Wednesday night and words can't describe how beautiful it was to be in the hot tub at night during the snowfall.

Our extended family (9 adults & 4 kids) used the home for a family reunion weekend. While the 2 bathrooms were an issue once in a while (especially with little kids), the house was otherwise very comfortable -- even for 13 people! With the weather being lousy that weekend, we still had enough space not to be under each other's feet.
