It's Not Just the Deer Who Are Dancing

As a big birthday treat, my husband and I chose Dancing Deer over other properties in the San Juans ... and we're so very glad we did! The house, with its enormous glass wall of windows overlooking the water, is just glorious. From the loft bedroom upstairs, you can choose to watch the dawning of the day (or, if a guest prefers lots of shut-eye, the blinds work just fine).
The owners are top-notch: all questions are cheerfully and promptly answered with a spirit of warmth and humor. While some rental properties can make vacationers feel like intruders, this is not the case at Dancing Deer. It's as if we're the treasured, invited guests that Dancing Deer purposely invited in.
The property is perfectly situated between downtown Eastsound and the southern shores, while Moran State Park is literally just down the road. Putting it succinctly: You couldn't do better!
Lastly, a question: Can we come back tomorrow?

Dancing Deer - delightful

This was our third visit to Orcas Island, but our first time at Dancing Deer. From our first inquiry about availability through the prompt return of our deposit after our stay, the owners (Susan and Charles Stewart) couldn't have been kinder, more hospitable, or more professional. If we have the good fortune to return some day, Dancing Deer would be our first choice. The house was lovely and comfortable; everything was in perfect working order and as advertised -- or better. We appreciated their pet friendly policy, too. One observation to share -- The house's three levels allowed all of us some space and privacy (as well as wonderful views), but those with mobility issues might have trouble with the number of stairs inside and out.

My husband and I came here for our 4th Anniversary. What a Wonderful spot we
found. The house was just great! Very clean and very well maintained. Our dog
loved being outside on the deck and not having to be tied up. It was very
relaxing for us- we loved to just spend most of our time on the deck looking
at the great views. I would recommend this house to anyone. Would definetly stay

Simply Breathtaking!

This is the best location for anyone staying on Orcas Island! Just a few step away from Moran Park. Even if you stayed by the house your entire vacation the large private lot is breathtaking alone. The house was meticulous when we arrived and the owners were an absolute pleasure to work with. This is one of the best experiences I've had with a vacation rental. Thanks Dancing Deer!!!

Wonderful island and vacation home!

The accommodations at Dancing Deer made for a relaxing vacation and homey get away. The view from the spacious deck was amazing and in the morning we were able to view the grazing deer in the front yard. We relaxed and enjoyed evening bar-b-ques on the deck while watching the sun set with a glass of wine. I would recommend Dancing Deer and Orcas Island to anyone ready to get away from the hustle, bustle and fast paced life.

Wonderful family-getaway home!

This rental feels like a home. Along with being exquisitely appointed, it is a very comfortable, extremely spacious spot for families. Our first time we enjoyed Dancing Deer with 2 other adults. Next time our adult children and three young grandchildren joined us. The attention to maintenance and detail is apparent with respect to the well being of the kids. Gates at both decks preclude little ones from wandering off. The downstairs can also be closed off, if necessary. The property is so expansive and distant from the road that little ones can play unfettered around the grounds. The home is beautifully decorated, yet the art objects are out of reach of tiny hands! The number of puzzles and games available to guests/children are a wonderful addition when parents just want to gaze at the spectacular view from the deck. Although there are some very good restaurants nearby, the meticulous and fully equipped kitchen make cooking and cleanup a breeze! The three floors allow ample space for several guests without feeling crowded.. We highly recommend Dancing Deer to couples looking for a magical weekend and families enjoying the hiking trails and the beauty of the San Juan Islands. Also, the owners are very receptive and reponsive to questions or concerns about the property and the island..

We rented DD last August,-- and it was truly a wonderful experience! Every amenity you could think of was included, -- the property and house are exceptionally well kept, comfortable, easily accessible to Moran State Park, Rosario, and Eastsound. Plenty of room, beautiful views, and a truly fantastic vacation escape. You couldn't ask for more!
