Amazing Stay in Ocean Beach!

My husband and I are looking into moving to the San Diego area. We chose a vacation rental over a hotel to give us a more "homey" feel to our vacation. We arrived on Friday, Feb. 1 and planned on staying through Friday, Feb. 8. The place was amazing...very serene, peaceful with a beautiful view of the ocean. The back deck and huge back window overlooking the ocean were awesome to wake up to each morning. The cottage was clean and cozy and perfect for my husband and I to spend a week in. The cottage is conveniently located and it is a short walk to the shops and restaurants of Ocean Beach, as well as being located right near Sunset Cliffs. Elizabeth was a fantastic host and such a pleasure to work with. We ended up getting "stuck" in San Diego for a few extra days due to a blizzard at home in NY. Elizabeth was understanding and worked with us so we we had a place to stay for a couple extra days. I would totally recommend this cottage. You will not be disappointed. I can't to come back to San Diego!

It all been said before, but we just had to confirm that the kudos are well deserved -- the owners are extremely friendly and helpful. Our flight was delayed due to a strike, and they did all that they could to accommodate our change of plans. What a charming little bungalow, perfect for two (and our baby)! The deck was a haven and we loved walking to the ocean pier every day. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This truly is a charming cottage as advertised. The deck and outdoor space is especially enticing as a place for rest and relaxation. Cozy so just enough space for 2. Location on a quiet street near the ocean and a quick walk to "downtown" OB. Owner is very accomodating and easy to make arrangments with. We will likley stay again.

I stayed for one week right after I finished graduate school and had the absolute best time of my life! I grew up in san diego and used to frequent OB when I was a teenager so I have a preexisting fondness for the place, so I may be biased, however...
1. Elizabeth is perhaps the best host I have ever had, she is around enough to help out if you need it but no too much so that you feel you're being watched and she also let us use their communal washing machine and soap. Our peacefulness and happiness was obviously paramount.
2. The bungalow has everything you could possibly need from an extra toothbrush and toiletries to coffee and kitchen stuff.
3. The view is simply breathtaking and there is nothing better than waking up every morning to drink a cup of joe sitting on that phenomenal porch.
4. The neighbors are delightful and give you that, "you're part of the family this week" feeling of comfort.
*** Also, about OB, it is the most relaxing, peaceful, kind, and loving place in the entire southern california area and I would never go to any other beach community to recharge my batteries.

Been wondering if the gracious owners would adopt us so we could stay forever :D. Perfect location. Perfect in everyway. What you see in the pics is what you get. Bed, water heater, clean, as quiet as the area gets...all the stuff you worry about with a rental...stop...no worries. Family lives in Ocean Beach and they said this cottage was way better than their homes! OB is the friendliest place! Weekdays were great days to be a tourist. I heard ONE siren while there (and it was a rainy day ;) You never have to leave Ocean Beach if you don't want to. Best souvieners were at Ocean Gifts..Wings were ok for Tshirts (but support the locals instead of chains) Tony's was a good Pool Hall, so was Sunshine. Nicks is OK if you want seafood. Old Town Cafe BEST BREAKFAST. Arizona Bar/Grill (Off Newport) BEST BURGER (stuffed burger gotta try it!) Didn't try HOdad's too crowded...Pizza...Newport Pizza...hand made. Bring comfortable shoes!

My husband & I recently stayed at this cottage and it exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect. It was a short walk to the beach, sea cliffs, restaurants and shops. We had a view of the ocean from the living room, eating area and deck.It was definitely a step above the typical rental. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed for our week stay. We were able to bar-be-que on the gas grill one evening. We will definitely stay here again next time we return to the San Diego area. I highly recommend this if you'll be staying in the San Diego area
