The location was right in the heart of the action, you could walk anywhere within a few blocks. I felt pretty safe too as the building was gated with security cameras and clean. Overall we had a great time and the host was very responsive when we had a question- we'll be back for sure, as soon as I can get the days off :)....

We were very disapointed after reading all the reviews. Upon our arrival we were greeted to someones vomit at the bottom of the stairs where we had to tip toe around and hold our breath and this remained for our two night stay. The place had obviously had water leak problems as there where numerous patch jobs and painted over stains. The showers were in need of cleaning and needed to be recaulked. The couch was starting to fall apart. The doors to the bedrooms had no door knobs, just deadbolt locks, doors for the laundry closet were falling apart. Found a cockroach on the kitchen counter. Bed were ok but had black sheets that seem to have some makeup stains on them and the pillows were terrible. This is not a luxury condo and the pictures make it look much better than it is.
Owners response: No. Although I'm known to love to help in any way I can, I cannot and will not be made responsible for something occurring OUTSIDE the unit, downstairs in the common areas of the building, especially during a late night checkin. By the time I went to inspect the apartment in the morning the building cleaning people had already been there, and had cleaned up. I assume what was being claimed was cleaned. Deadbolts on the doors? Really? If an owner has to keep your deposit you don't have to grasp for straws trying to find something that doesn't suit your taste for security. Take responsibility. The black satin sheets placed by my housekeeper were fresh off the laundry and pressed, but this renter doesn't say how he left them completely soaking wet. Why didnt they use at least towel to mop up the mess they made in the room? The unit upstairs directly above mine experienced a water heater breaking on them a year ago and damaged a small spot about the size of a fist on my roof. It was repaired with in 24 hours and painted. I did not put popcorn on it because it would be too messy. This is Florida, so I do quarterly pest control on principle but its hard to keep one insect away when you arrive to clean and find your renters left your counter full of food and open containers. I dont appreciate that as I strive very hard to keep everything clean for my guests. I found my a/c not working because they had broken the switch, my washer/dryer closet door on the right was now broken on the bottom right pivot, and now my couch had a tear. I never once got a call or email from him to fix any issue, which I would have immediately addressed, and was left to clean up a huge smelly mess, fix the a/c, replace one closet door, and get someone to sew up the tear they made. The small deposit I was forced to keep wasn't nearly enough to cover everything, almost as much as the value of their rent. At first I didn't think it was worth renting the place for only two nights but I made an exception after they asked numerous times because I thought this renter would be clean and would take care of things. Now I realize its the best decision I made as I imagine what it would be like if they would have stayed any longer.

This was my 1st time staying in a vacation rental and not a hotel. I have to say that Raul set the bar for all my future vacation rentals in other locations.
The condo was clean, well kept, and fully equipped.
There was 4 of us staying there and space was definitely not an issue. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, laundry room, that's bigger than my apartment in NYC.
The full kitchen really helped us saved money. Food and drinks in South Beach are ridiculously expensive. The kitchen allowed us to cook our own breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a few nights.
The location was amazing. We were 1-1/2 short blocks to the beach and Ocean Drive where all of the bars and restaurants are. We were on Collins where all of the stores are. Because of this ideal location, we didn't have to drive anywhere (which is great because parking in South Beach is non-existent).
I am so glad that Raul was the first person I got a vacation rental from. Because I was a newbie, I asked a billion questions and he answered all of them promptly and politely.
All in all, I cant wait to stay in Raul's condo the next time that I am in South Beach.

This was the perfect place for 6 college roommates to gather for our reunion. Raul was professional, great to work with from start to finish, and very accomodating. Everything listed and shown in the pictures was accurate. All the fun we needed-beach, dining, dancing, people watching- was within walking distance. I look forward to return trips to SOBE and hope to stay here again. Thank you very much.

My mother and I stayed at this location November 7, 2011- November 10, 2011 to celebrate my birthday. I have previously been to South Beach several times prior so I knew exactly where I wanted to stay in South Beach (close to Wet Willie’s of course, lol). I knew for a fact I didn’t want to stay in a hotel, I wanted a home away from home type of feel. So after looking at numerous condos via TripAdvisor, I was torn because there were so many to choose from. But what made me go ahead and give Raul a try was his immediate and detailed response he gave when I sent him an inquiry. I asked numerous questions about the rental property, I even asked questions that were already answered on the listing page but Raul still answered and was very welcoming.
With that being said I went ahead and sent the deposit and filled out the necessary paperwork, which was a breeze. Every step of the way the owner of the property was there and willing to assist in any manner. I had a special request and it was to allow us to check in early (11 am) instead of 3pm since we would arrive in Miami around 9am. Raul had no problem accommodating us and even met us at the condo to introduce himself and bring additional dish soap.
The overall building itself is wearing but that goes for a lot of historic property along South Beach. But the condo itself was very clean and up to date and not to mention WIFI. I love how spacious it was (each bedroom had its own bathroom) and AGAIN very clean. Just by the little welcoming items Raul had there I can tell that he wanted my mother and I to feel like we were at home. And that’s exactly how we felt for the 3 days we were there. One more thing I appreciate about the building/property is how secure it is, I like the fact that someone needs a key to not only get into the parking lot but also into the building and of course the individual units.
I don’t know if it was the time of year we came down (early November) but we didn’t hear any outside noise while sleeping. I most definitely didn’t and I even slept in the bedroom with balcony and I left it cracked during the night. I slept very comfortable and peaceful at the condo, which says a lot.
At the end of our stay we hated to leave but I do know when I return to South Beach next year, I will contact Raul.
P.S. deposit was returned promptly

Excellent location. Property Owner Raul, is an excellent host. Raul checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. I was there celebrating my 45th birthday, no need for a car, just walk around the corner and your on Ocean Drive, less than 5 minute walk to beach. Just wanted to thank you for allowing us to use your condo, looking forward to staying there again sometime next year.

Our stay in SoBe was could not have been any better. Nothing better than being able to walk into an apartment and feel like you're walking into your own space. Unlike walking into a hotel room then bumping into your bed. The place looks exactly like the pictures show it. The apartment was well maintained. The owner was great with helping us. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone. You are basically just a few steps away from anything. I definitely would not consider staying anywhere else anytime I go to SoBe. We are going to be long term customers.
This location is where you definitely want to be. If you like the Cuban cuisine you definitely want to try the food at Puerto Sagua on 7th and Collins (only one block from the apartment). Don't expect the best service ever because they are very busy but I promise you that the tasty food will win you over. If you like Seafood/Peruvian Style Food visit Chalan on the Beach Restaurant on 16th and Washington... my fave is the Seafood Rice and the Jalea Mixta (mix of fried shrimp, calamari, fish, casava/yuca, etc.) The buses on Washington are only 25 cents so hop on it and get there and back easily. For the best Mojitos try The Palace on 12th and Ocean Drive and keep in mind this is a very "Open Minded" bar/restaurant lol. We saved money by just going to the nearest Walgreens on 4th and Collins and just buying the necessary things like bread, eggs, cold cuts, and juice so that we can save the money and use it on dining out and other fun things.

Loved the security and ON SITE parking, a rarity in South Beach and at least $105 savings. The only complaint I might have is that the previous tenant blew some fuses and some outlets didn't work. The location is perfect, walking distance to most points of interest. Looking forward to our next visit, Thanks

I and my cousin were recently in South Beach for a weekend, and stayed at this AMAZING condo. Raul is a great renter, and was constantly in contact with me through the entire process. The condo is located in a GREAT spot, at the corner of 8th and Collins, and directly across from the Puma Store. It was great to not have to worry about searching for a parking space, as one comes with the rental and parking in SoBe can be a HUGE hassle. Also, there are grocery stores, restaurants, and clubs all within walking distance, my favorite was the late night pizza place Pizza Rustica at the corner of 9th and Washington (simply AMAZING).
Just like I told Raul when I concluded my stay there, if and when I return to SoBe, I SURELY will be in contact with him to stay in his condominium again. GREAT PLACE TO STAY!

We stayed at this apartment in Jan 2010 and the place was in a great location, we could walk everywhere and one block from the water. However the place was dirty and poorly appointed. My friend received a chemical burn on her lips from a towel!!!! The bathrooms were ok- but dingy and not put together well- one had a hole in the wall. The fans were lined with so much dust that you wouldn't even want to turn them on. The futon couch was broken so it was just flat as a bed the whole time, making it hard for 2 couples to sit comfortably. Plus it was badly stained. Other things I could have gotton over such as: having a dirty dishwasher load when we arrived, limited cups/dishes, we had to buy toilet paper for ourselves because more was not supplied- but the whole thing was awful because of the chemical burn and overall dirtness. I would not recommend this place to anyone- too bad cause the location is great.
Owners response: What this renter doesn't say is that I had to keep their entire deposit which wasn't enough to cover the tremendous mess they made including the hole they themselves made in the bathroom. Almost all the towels were stained with what looked like frozen drink liquid which is probably why the supposed "chemical burn" occurred. The bed in the first room was broken as well as the sliding mirror in the second room. The entire living room floor was sticky from the spilled hard liquor. Their contract was for 6 people but yet there were three additional sleeping bags in the living room. They didnt even bother to take out the trash during the 4 days they were here. I spent 2 days cleaning this mess and had to find the next group a room and refund their first nights' stay. They never even called me to rectify these "problems" anytime during their stay, but chose instead to trash my home and then have the nerve to get upset that I kept their deposit.
