The best place to relax and enjoy

Review submitted: April 10, 2014   Date of arrival: March 22, 2014

My family and i spent a week in this beautiful cabin, it was our first time in the smokies, we fell in love with this place, the quiet and the peace we had was unique, the creek is amazing, we heard the sound of the water from the porch, we loved that, this cabin was like home for us, our kids enjoyed playing outside and making smores in the firepit, we were blessed with snow one day, and it was spring already, we had the most beautiful vacation we ever had in bryson city, which is a small and lovely town, we recommended this amazing place to our families and friends already and we will come back for sure, the owner was very kind and available for when we needed. Thank you so much for everything, we hope to be back soon!!!!!

Thank you sooo much!!!!

Excellent place for a family.

Review submitted: December 9, 2013   Date of arrival: December 7, 2013

We stayed at he creekside cabin for a weekend to ride the polar express with our children. The cabin is great and well equipped. We were pleasantly surprised to walk in for our holiday stay and have a cute Christmas tree lit in the living room. Beautiful setting, relax on the deck while listening to the creek water rushing. We are already looking at dates for our next stay. Highly recommended if you are looking for a private but not remote place to stay.

Perfect for Pups and Married Couple

Review submitted: June 24, 2013   Date of arrival: June 15, 2013

We stumbled upon Fox Creek cabins while looking for a last minute weekend vacation retreat on Father's Day weekend. While Bryson City is often billed and advertised as a family friendly summer spot, we found it was also great for couples without kids and also great for dogs!

Our new puppy loved playing in the creek and our Rhodesian Ridgeback found his pace running around the house and laying in the sun.

The house had a great set up for laundry and cooking...and lots of information about nearby escapes and adventures. That helped since we were unfamiliar with Bryson City.

But our favorite part was the creek ...you could hear the peaceful running water sounds through open windows...you could enjoy the nearness of cool spring water while doing yoga on the lawn just steps away from the creek...and you could meditate or talk with friends while watching the creek from the front deck. Peaceful and not too pricey!

Best Mountain Vacation!

Review submitted: December 15, 2011   Date of arrival: October 10, 2011

My family stayed in the Hillside cabin for a week to celebrate our son's fourth birthday and my 6th anniversary with my husband. We had an excellent time! The cabin was very cozy and welcoming. Our favorite part was the fire pit just off of the porch where we roasted marshmallows and made s'mores almost every night of our stay. The cabin was very convenient to the train station and my family really enjoyed trying out the local restaraunts as well! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful cabin with us. We can't wait to come back - hopefully very soon!

Owners response: So nice to hear that you enjoyed your anniversary & birthday at Fox Creek Cabins. We hope you can come back to the Smokys soon to take advantage of the repeat guest discount. --- Alan & Bev Miller

sister/sister vacation

Review submitted: October 13, 2011   Date of arrival: October 6, 2011

This was a vacation for my sister after she suddenly lost her husband of a massive heart attack. It's been very hard taking care of her 4 girls and one grandson with no income coming in,but her faith for God is amazing. This cabin was awesome and worth every dime. Peaceful, relaxing, and things to do with the whole family. even though this was a sister/sister vacation. We rode the Smokey Mountain Rail Road just mins from the cabin. Visit the local stores, watched families rafting, Saw a Bear. Had a peeping tom that we named this time Foxy( A yellow tabby cat).lol we grilled, set in the hot tub, drank coffee out on the beautiful porch. and relaxed. We will be coming back and staying in one of the three cabins. Thank You for allowing us to stay in your beautiful cabin home away from home.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet-friendly, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Owners response: We are glad you enjoyed your retreat at Fox Creek Cabins. Being a small family owned business, we try to provide a everything a cabin in the Smokys should have. Remember that all returning guests get a discount on repeat visits.

RELAX AT THE CABIN - PLAY IN THE AREA!

Review submitted: August 17, 2011   Date of arrival: August 6, 2011

Fox Creek Cabin Meadowside is one of 3 Fox Creek cabins off the road in this secluded area. While there are 3 cabins, you have privacy from your vacationing neighbors! We stayed at Fox Creek Meadowside. Great hot tub for relaxing. Walk along the creek to a "hidden" waterfall. Cozy (but spacious) 2 bedroom cabin that was clean, and welcoming. Nice owners! Want fun? Bryson City has been touted as one of the 10 best outdoor activities areas. Whitewater rafting, tubing, pontoon boat riding, fly-fishing, zip line gliding, horse back riding, jet boat rides, hiking, and more! Must visit the Cork & Bean in downtown Bryson City (Wake Up & Wine Down). We will be staying in one of these cabins again in the future!

Awesome Place!

Review submitted: July 25, 2010   Date of arrival: July 2, 2010

My husband and grandkids stayed at Fox Creek cabin (creekside) from July 2 - July 6 and had a wonderful time. The kids could not get enough of the beautiful waterfall! The water was too cold for me but I had a great time wading in the creek with them, looking for treasures! Only issue was the DVR did not work - but we did not come there to watch movies!! We hope to stay there again!

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, pet-friendly, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Owners response: We are glad you enjoyed your stay at our cabin. I'm sorry you didn't call us about the DVD while you were there. We would have replaced it right away, which we did right after you left.

We stayed in the Meadowside cabin July 11-18, and really enjoyed our stay at Fox Creek. Our 3 young boys loved playing in the creek, especially at the large waterfall. We are hoping to come back to stay at Meadowside next summer. Thank you very much for making our stay fun and memorable.

Owners response: An unfortunate note: the waterfall these guests enjoyed is no longer available to our guests. Although only 50 feet farther along our Creekside trail, the property where it sits has been sold and the new owners will not allow access as the previous owners did .

The cabin is really nice to come home to after an eventful day out.
The watefall was a bit of a let down. *

Our evenings eating dinner here and grilling out were wonderful. The hot tub was AMAZING!!

The cabin is not far from Cherokee where we had fun experiencing casino life, just remember to stop while you're ahead!

Our vacation was over way too soon! We will have many wonderful memories of this cabin.

* Homeowner's Notes:
I'm sure they didn't go all the way to the waterfall! Don't stop at the 2ft fapids. Continue until you can't go anymore. The waterfall is 20 feet tall!

Thank you for letting us use your cabin! We had incredible weather and enjoyed the peacefulness of the back deck and the sounds of the creek. We loved the short hike upstream to visit the waterfall.

We were able to do tubing at Deep Creek and white water rafting on the Tuckaseegee -- perfect for our kids!

We enjoyed our nightly ritual of s'mores around the campfire. This was the first time we've experienced the Great Smoky Mountains and we've seen some amazing scenery.

Our favorite excursions are tubing Deep Creek and walking our dogs on Island Park in the middle of the Tuckaseegee River in downtown Bryson City at the east end of Bryson Street.

We photographed Elk in Cataloochee and waterfalls all over including Pnathertown, Schoolhouse Falls off Cold Mountain Rd. Our favorite waterfall andcreek is at Fox Creek /Shephered Hollow!

The people in town are very nice. Our second stay in the cabin was as magical as last year. We look forward to coming every year. Thank you for everything!

I have enjoyed my stay. The waterfall is quite nice. My purpose on this sabbatical was to study the forest, particularly the poplar grove at Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest. Future viitors might take a moment to reflect opon the mosses growing in the tree tops. pausing to consider the significance of the canopy plants which may survive only in this particular niche of remaining Old Growth Appalachian Hardwoods. Consdering this area is regarded as the seedbed for reforestaion after the last ice age, the implication of undiscovered knowledge contained in the remaining Old Growth Canopy is intimidating. Be sure to look down too for snails and such.

Happy New Year!!! We loved the cabin. It's beautiful, peaceful, and the sound of the creek is awesome. We're from Columbia, South America, but live in Savannah GA and our trip to the beautiful Smoky Moutnains reminded us of our country.

We came here with two boys and both grandmas and we had a lovely time seeing them so happy and enjoying the cabin, the creek, the views... everything.

We went tubing and skiinging in Cataloochee & Maggie Valley and for our first time being with snow, I guess we can se that we survived... and will definitely keep trying to stay on our feet next time. :) (Thank God for the hot tub)

Our dog, Simona, had a blast !!! Thank you for being pet-friendly. We'll definitely recommend it to our friends.

Tip : follow the tail as far as you can go and don't stop at the "small waterfall" -- keep going! We went on the Smoky Mountain Railroad yesterday, and to the Rose Creek mines today. Tomorrow we will go to Biltmore Estate. We will be back!

What an awesome family vacation! We never stopped and it's time to go but there's so much more we want to do! We can't wait to come back. The waterfalls at Deep Creek in the Smoky Mountain National Park are beautiful.

If you are taking 441 from Cherokee to TN make sure to stop at the top of the mountain at Clingman's Dome. The view is undescribable.

Coming back to this cozy cabin every night was so relaxing. Couldn't have asked for a cleaner place.

One more thing... make sure to look for the fireflies at night!

With the rooster cockaling, the parents snoring, the creek babling, the waterfall gushing, the ladybugs a flight, the hot-tub bubling, the fireplace crackling and the smell of a ru cabin, makes us feel right at home during the holiday season. We're already planning another trip here, there is always something to do. We bought a Wii for the family, but ended up playing the good old board games in the cabin, especially Cranium! In case you are wondering, the waterfall is a short 5 minute walk up the stream. Happy New Year!

Thank you for sharing this paradise with your guests! It has been great to "come home to the cabin" after adventures during the day. The whitewater rafting and jeep adventure tour (which included the train ride) by WILDWATER RAFTING created memories to last a lifetime, we'll be back.

Have been to Cherokee many times but never have enjoyed it as much as this time. The cabin & surroundings are exactly as described on the internet. Very comfortable and made the trip a very relaxed one. I'm glad that I chose your cabin.

While staying in this "Foxy" hideaway, our family has created memories that will not be forgotten... The hot tub was fantastic after a day of tubing on Deep Creek... We are sad to say goodbye to this nice cabin and the friendly foxes that fill it's walls....we'd love to say here again.

It's been a resful week here at the cabin. We really enjoyed the peaceful serenity of the mountains. We ventured out on many day trips: Road to Nowhere, Fontana Dam, Waterfalls near Highlands, foade the Smoky Mountain Railroad and went horseback riding in Cherokee. The hot-tub came in handy to soak our tired muscles after horseback riding! The Everett Diner on Main St has the best breakfast around, delicious! Have a great time, I know we'll be back.

-Great Vacation- We enjoyed the quiet but close proximity to the attractions. The cabin was great, especially the view and the crowing roosters.

We all enjoyed being in this cabin. I's so comfortable and neat... Even though we only stayed a week, we enjoyed as much as we could... We are touring several SE US states and our week at Fox Creek was the high point of our 4 week tour... The waterfall and hot tub are excellent!... We all agree it was one of the best moments in our lives and had a great journey!

Our family had a wonderful time. We loved the sound of the creek, very relaxing! We were fortunate to see a bear on "The Road to Nowhere" and we also saw elk in Cherokee. We look forward to our next visit! God Bless!

The waterfalls and tub are excellent! That's what I enjoyed most of all. I loved being in the cabin on rainy days and still getting to go the hot tub when it was cold because it is hot! It watched many movies and played monopoly and cards with some friends. The tub was excellent. I loved it. The waterfalls are what I enjoyed the most.

Suggestion: if you don't have anything to do... go around Bryson city and discover things to do usch as grocery stores, bookstores. Go to the railroad, and go tubing, canoeing, rafting, and kayaking.

Too bad we were only here a week!

Thank you for the most cozy cabin in Bryson City. The waterfall was gorgeous just as well as the little stream. My fiance and I had the time of our lives coming up here to the Smoky Mountains and plan on coming back here for our honeymoon.

We had a wonderful time. The cabin was absolutely beautiful and one of the most serene places that I've ever been. We truly enjoyed walking the creekline and gazing at the beautiful waterfall. We hope to enjoy your Fox Creek or Fox Hill Cabins again in the future. Best wishes, Denise

What a cute cabin and location! We loved being able to play scoccer in the meadow and take hikes. Bryson City's best feature is he the Soda Shop! :) We went into the hot tub everyday because it was very cold. We hope to come back to Fox Creek Cabins next Spring Break.
