the house was in perfect shape and well taken care of. the veiws are stunning with the entire back of the house being all windows the veiw of the lake is great. the boat dock is a great place to hang out and have a fire at dusk. very peaceful and private. The back deck is a nice place to have a cook out for dinner or lunch. And the sat light tv came in handy when them uninspecting storms come.
Recommended for: adventure seekers, families with young children, sight seeing, romantic getaway
Owners response: Thank you. We love the lake house and are glad that others appreciate it as well. The only problem - we are renting it so much that we hardly get to use it ourselves anymore!

This house is beautiful and very well designed. Beautiful landscaping and decorated in a way that makes you feel like you are at home. The location is a little remote. Would be a great getaway in the summer if you have a boat and enjoy the water. My oldest son and girlfriend did not want to leave!
Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, pet-friendly
Owners response: I am glad you enjoyed your stay. You had such rainy weather! I also appreciated the picture that Dave took of the irises. They looked like Georgia O'Keefe paintings.

The home was very clean and well maintained. The dock is nice but a little shallow for fishing at this time of year. We did have an issue with the propane which is used to heat the home. As soon as I notified the owners, they quickly made the problem a priority and had a family member present to help meet our immediate needs as well as the having the propane company on site to rectify the problem as soon as possible. The owners are easy to work with and very supportive. The fishing was a little slow but a cold front was passing through at the time of our stay. If I return to KY lake this is a property I would definately consider renting again.
Owners response: Yes we did have a propane problem! Between the time we left and our guests arrived, a period of about 24 hours, the valve on the propane tank developed a leak and lost most of the tank of propane so that they did not have heat the following day. That is when the big fireplace comes in handy. We got it fixed but it did take a little time. I am pleased that you were so understanding and worked with us in getting the problem resolved. We all know that unexpected issues do occur and we try to solve any problem as quickly as possible. I am glad the rest of the week was warm and that you and your family enjoyed your stay.

We visited for four day weekend to see our son who is attending Murray State University. We brought friends with us who are considering sending other daughter to Murray State next year. We all enjoyed our visit so much. We were able to visit our son in a homey atmosphere complete with our family dog and a roaring fire. He and his father even got to go fishing. Our friends got to visit MSU at theIr leisure with their daughter. We all got to hike and explore Land Between the Lakes. The house is beautiful and you feel like you are out in nature with all those big windows. We had a great weekend and we will be visiting again during our son's years at MSU. P.S. great kitchen too!

Small Family Thanksgiving Retreat

This was the perfect home for our first Thanksgiving destination vacation! It is the most comfortable home and peaceful setting. Our two grandchildren enjoyed it as much as the adults! From making smores at the Franklin stove on the deck to fishing off the dock. We were able to take our pet, Cosmo. He is a small rat terrier and he loved that he could see out from any directions due to all the wonderful glass windows and open floor plan. We enjoyed the fireplace so much. Watching the fall leaves drift down from the trees was almost like watching snow fall in the winter.
We actually have talked about making this a yearly tradition. My son is a big hunter and fisherman. He absolutely loved the woods surrounding the property. We enjoyed an afternoon of shopping and eating at Grand Rivers, Ky. We drove to Murray to watch a movie, but mainly just enjoyed the homes ambiance.
Thanks Melinda, for making your home available for some great family bonding. I think our family talked, shared, laughed and relaxed more than I can ever remember. We shared a morning devotional together everyday at the breakfast table. Your home made this possible by having us together for 4 mornings that we would not have had if we had Thanksgiving at our home. Everyone would have been off and running in different directions when the meal was over. My husband and I think it is the best investment we have made in a long time!!!

Owners response: Thank you for such a lovely review. We love this house in every season but fall and winter are actually my favorite times to be there. When I am trapped inside with cabin fever in St Louis in January, I just get in the car and drive to the lake house. Everything is suddenly better. The light from the big windows chases away the winter blues and the fireplace is so cozy. We can go for walks in the woods or along the shore, watch birds fishing in the lake and throw frisbees to Flora until she is ready to go take a nap. Flora, our goldendoodle, starts wagging her tail as we cross the bridge into Illinois because she knows where we are going. I am so glad you enjoyed your time there as much as we do.

Just returned from spending four fabulous days at this lake house. The place is fantastic. Excellent views of Jonathan Creek from most windows. Very clean and well cared for with all the ammenities anyone could ask for. My sister and family met my wife and I from Oklahoma for this long (7 months in the planning)awaited vacation. This rental was nothing less than perfect.
The weather was almost perfect for us with light mist the day of our arrival, heavy wind on day two and perfect weather the last two days. The black bass made us work for the ones we did manage to catch, but that is fishing.
There is not one negative thing to say about this rental, I highly recommend it to anyone considering this as a possiblility, let your search end here. The owners are very easy to work with and very accomodating. We all hope to be back in the near future.

This was the first time my wife and I had rented a home for a break. We spent the week with friends from another area of the country and it surpassed our expectations! The home is tasteful and comfortable; it would be great for families as well as for someone desirng some quiet and solitude. The dock was great for relaxing! It was so restful for us that after early morning fishing, we really enjoyed just relaxing at the propery. Easy drive to re-stock groceries, and Jonathan Creek was quiet.
We had absolutely no issues with the owners directions; they were a pleasure to work with making the entire process easy. And I was so surprised to see the charcoal in the grill our first night! A nice touch.
Well worth our choice. Highly recomend.

Owners response: We are always so pleased for people to enjoy our house. We think it is great but we like to hear that other people do too. You should try it in other seasons as well. It has special appeal in every season.

what can i say!everything was so perfect, clean well supplied just charming.Everything we wanted in a great home was there. My wife and i enjoyed ever minute, and boy did time fly by.The views where great, and we felt like the lake was all are own.The fishing was good caught lots of crappie, some of the biggest we ever caught and never even left the creek. We both wanted to stay longer but had to get back to work.We took or dog bear, and no pet fee, hope that stays that way and yes we'll be back.Thank you so much for shareing your wonderful home with my wife and bear.
Owners response: We are glad that you, your wife and Bear enjoyed your vacation. Well mannered dogs are always welcome. We have a large goldendoodle and know how hard it is to leave your canine family member in a kennel or even with friends while you vacation. It is just more fun if they come along.

My husband and I rented this delightfully charming home during our daughter's spring break from college. She attends Murray State University only 20 minutes from this lovely home. It gave all of us an opportunity to get a little R and R despite being close to the university. The home is well maintained and very comfortable. I usually don't sleep well when away from home but I had very restful sleeps here. It is also well supplied for cooking.
Thank you for offering this delightful home as a vacation rental.
Owners response: Thank you so much for your compliments. I am trying to get my granddaughter to go to MSU because it would be so convenient to visit her - but then it would be so convenient for her to have parties when we are not there. HMMMM. Maybe Missou is a good idea. Seriously though it is a great place for parents visiting their kids at MSU or alumni attending alumni events.

This is a very nice lakehouse. Beautifuly decorated , very clean and well kept. We were immediately comfortable with our surroundings as we entered the house. The entire wall of windows gives a spectacular view of the lake and dock area (we missed the lake view the first day back at home). This home is furnished with everything you might need. We especially enjoyed relaxing on the dock watching the kids play on the paddleboat. I would definitely recommend this house. Thanks for a great experience!
Owners response: We are so happy you enjoyed your stay. We strive to make each guests experience enjoyable and really appreciate the feedback.

Our family has been coming here for three years now and it has become our family tradition for the 4th of July. My son brings his boat and docks it at their dock and we enjoy the paddle boat that is there as well. A perfect getaway for families, so much room for everyone and so well kept. We have already booked next year!
Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway
Owners response:
you are one of the first guests we rented to when we decided to list our house. I actually think this was your 4th year to stay at our lake home and we are so happy you will be back next year. It is good that you have already booked. Summer books up fast and that 4th of July spot is sought after by many potential renters each year.
Our house is very popular with families seeking a central location to meet each other and reconnect. Some live in Chicago meeting others from Atlanta, others are from Little Rock and Cinncinnati or St Louis and Nashville etc. Less driving for everone.
We are booking our spring and summer dates earlier each Year. We appreciate all our guests but especially appreciate our repeat guests. Hope to see you for many years to come.

This rental property is very nice. Clean and the kitchen was well stocked with cookware. We had six adults and a dog and the house was roomy enough for us all. The temperature was extremely hot and we were still able to eat outside in front of the large fan. There are great views of the lake from the house.
Recommended for: age 55+, pet-friendly
Owners response: We love eating on the deck with the view of the lake and are glad you did too. We have had that old barracks fan for 30 years and it has always made the hot summers much more enjoyable. Glad you liked it.

We have 3 young children and were looking for a relaxing place to just spend family time together, and this home was perfect for us! The home is beautifully maintained and has all the amenities you could need. Kitchen was well-equipped with appliances and stocked with all the extras.
The children (8, 5, 2) enjoyed swimming right off the dock every afternoon, and they loved having success at fishing. The views of the lake are wonderful from the family room/dining area as well as from the deck with a spacious table and umbrella.
The house is in such a quiet location, and there was so much nature to absorb. We saw a doe with twin spotted fawns in the front yard every day, hummingbirds, squirrels, butterflies, and of course fish. It was such a relaxing place to vacation, off the beaten path of resorts and crowds. It is really a great place to just spend quality time together.
The dock is big with a swing and hammock, fans for cooling are everywhere inside and out, and of course the house has air conditioning too! Bedrooms are comfy, spacious and have private baths.
Favorite eating for our family was Belews Drive In in Aurora...great chocolate shakes!!!
I cannot say enough great things about this home on Kentucky Lake. Thank you Sandersons for allowing my family to spend a wonderful week at your beautiful home!
Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet-friendly
Owners response: We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. The house is our retreat from the world. It is great in the summer but fall, winter and spring have their advantages too. We have migrating pelicans in the spring, great color and fires on the deck in the fall and great natural light with huge fires in the fireplace in winter. Come stay in the off season sometime too.

Our group had a great time and just loved your house! It was very clean, private, and well stocked with everything we could possibly need.
The dock was a real bonus, we could easily park our boats and enjoied Coffee there each morning while watching the sun come up.
The decks off the master bedroom were great and where we spent the majority of our time that wasn't spent on the lake and you're right, the fan was our best friend and what an AWESOME fan!!
The information provided was very detailed and extreemly helpful. If there was something we needed to know, you covered it!
Thank you so much for the use of your beautiful home!

Families from the Atlanta and St. Louis areas met here for a nice relaxing vacation. The home was very nice and provided all the needs of your own home. The kitchen was well stocked, the family room was open with lots of light-windows looking down at the lake, 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths--lots of towels, nice outdoor deck with big table and great umbrella, and a wonderful boat dock.
The home is NOT located in a neighborhood---making it more private. There is lots of room to park cars as well as place your boats or boat trailors.
Time was spent fishing every morning and evening and lots of fish were caught. We had a great fish fry the last evening there and had enough fish to take home for another fish fry.
Cooked most of our meals on the nice grill but did drive over to Grand Rivers one afternoon to have dinner at Patti's Settlement. I would hightly recommend the pork chops. This is a nice place to visit quite unique when it comes to it's history.
The dock was just down from the home and was mostly covered but did provide an area to be out in the sun if you wanted to get a sun tan. The boat slip provided a great place to get our pontoon in out of the rain. We enjoyed the swing and hammock and it was nice having a fan and overhead light. With electricity on the dock we were able to charge up our boat batteries as well as listen to some great music.
The dock is plenty big enough to have a full size boat as well as room for jet skies. Where the dock/home is located there is lots of privacy --with not much lake activity.
We were very happy to bring along our small dogs--and NO pet fee.
Another great feature is having access to the internet. Being able to check email for business reasons was quite helpful. We also used it to check lake conditions, fishing spots, directions, etc.
I would definitely recommend this vacation home and we would consider returning to stay here in the future.
Thank you to the Sandersons for opening your vacation home to us--we made some great memories

Owners response:
We are so glad ou enjoyed your stay at our home. We put a lot of thouht into building it and you mentioned the features that we love most. We almost always stay in a Homeaway or Vacationrentals listed home when we go on vacation. While there we pay attention to the amenities that are offered to see what we should offer and what amenities are missing that we should have.
We like to think that people feel that our house is really their home away from home. We appreciate feedback and give serious considedration to any suggestions made by guests to improve our service.

I have been meaning to write this review for some time but since returning from our fabulous vacation on Kentucky Lake time has slipped by.
The house is fabulous. Very clean. Fantastic lake views from every room and the house is stocked with every thing you need for a great vacation on the lake. The layout is open and great for a family. It is kid/teen friendly - we fished and boated every day.
Very private and secluded - a piece of paradise.
Thank you for the great stay in your beautiful home. We would highly recommend this property!

Our family spent a week at the house and we were very happy with the experience. The house is clean, modern, and has everything you need to live comfortably. Jonathan Creek is quiet and peaceful - it felt like we had it to ourselves! It's close to marinas for boat/jet ski rentals, convenience stores are nearby, and good restaurants are just a short drive. The Mexican restaurant in Murray was our favorite! I would recommend this home to anyone and would definitely consider a return trip!

We were there for a week with our two children and our dog. We began each day on the dock and ended each day on the dock. The views were fabulous from every room. The deck was great. The screened porch was a great place to read. There are deer to watch and that thrilled our children and the dog.
We boated, played in the water, taught our kids how to play badminton. the kitchen is very well equipped, just like being at home.
After the kids were in bed, we sat on the deck and watched the stars, something we do not see nearly as many of in the city.
We loved it and would go back again.
