This unit was exactly as advertised; very clean, great ocean view, ocean sounds seemed to echo off the building, close to shoppping and reastaurants, complex grounds were neatly maintained.
If in the New Smyrna Beach area again, we definateloy would attempt to rent this unit.
Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway

We stayed in this condo for 2 weeks in April 2013. The condo was clean and comfortable. Nice view of the ocean. It was great to be able to see family swimming in the pool while sitting on the balcony. This condo is on a driving section of the beach but had very minimal traffic. In fact we drove our rental car on the beach, which I would highly recommend. It was a lot of fun to drive down the entire beach and watch some of the local surfing contests. The pools were both nice. One of the pools is heated , which makes swimming on a windy day very nice. We felt very safe and secure staying in the condo unit. People seemed very nice and friendly. We also visited the national park, which is about 5 miles down the main road. It costs a couple dollars for a day pass but there are literally thousands of seashells on the beach. My daughter loved collecting shells on that beach and could have spent an entire day just on that beach.

This is a very nice condo

We stayed at this condo in July and again in September. This is a very nice condo and the owner is very easy to work with. The condo was clean and the views from it are wonderful. We loved the pool area and the beach. New Smyrna is our favorite vacation spot. We definately will stay here again.

Great Vacation Spot

The Pelican is a beautiful resort. We loved how close we were to the pools and beach. The property is very clean and quiet. The condo was great for our family of 5. Everything was just as described above. It was so nice to be on the top floor with no noise above us and we never had to wait for an elevator (like at the much larger resorts). The kitchen had everything we needed and we loved that we didn't have to bring our own beach chairs, cooler and towels. . . that was a GREAT treat! We will for sure stay here again.

We had a wonderful time at the Pelican. The beach is awesome, the view from the condo is excellent, and the pool is very nice. I used the barbeque grills by the pool to cook every dinner. My older children enjoyed the stay as much as we did - they only wished there was a hot tub on site. But given that one of the pools is heated, there really is no need for one. Great beach access!

What a great week!!

We spent a week right on the beach and enjoyed ever minute of it. The condo was perfect and had everything we needed to be comfortable, including the beds. The view is magnificent from the 6th floor. We walked on the beach every morning. The complex is very quiet; we never even heard a door slam. The heated pool was wonderful, especially when the wind was blowing off the water. A screen protected the sunbathers also. The owner met us there and was very welcoming. New Smyrna Beach is a great little town to explore. There are lots of local restaurants with great seafood. The shops on Flagler Avenue are plentiful and we even ventured to the downtowm area and discovered the Little Drug Store has a soda fountain and great Hershey's ice cream delights. We would definitely go back.

We have stayed at the Pelican 3 times now and we really enjoyed this condo very much. The view from the balcon as well as the front room was fabulous - I could wake up to that every day!! We had excellent contact with the owner and she was very helpful. The Pelican is a very well taken care of condo - the pool area is very pretty and plenty of room for everyone to enjoy! We will definitely be back!

Family Vacation Paradise

I started going to New Smyrna Beach with my parents in the early 1970's and now have the joy of taking my family to enjoy this vacation paradise. This unit at the Pelican is by far one of the nicest, cleanest, well-maintained, and beautifully decorated condos that I have stayed in. The description and photos accurately reflected the appearance and amenities. The owner was very friendly and helpful with questions about the property. Pelican is conveniently located near grocery stores, shopping, and wonderful restaurants. Be sure to check out Norwood's, Dolphin View, and JB's Fish Camp for Great Seafood and Mon Delice French Bakery for wonderful pastries/breads and excellent subs! This condo is equipped with everything you need for a hassle-free vacation. I definitely recommend this condo and we cannot wait to visit again!

The condo is immaculate and perfect for a beach vacation. The rooms are nicely arranged with a large main room including kitchen and living area. The bedrooms are well appointed with beautiful bathrooms. The description of the condo was accurate and the property was clean and well maintained. The owner was very welcoming and provided excellent customer service. I would highly recommend this property to a friend and we hope to return there again next year.

If you're looking to get away somewhere quiet, picturesque, but fun, then this is the PERFECT spot !!!
The condo was just great, exactly as advertised, very clean with everything you need for a family vacation.
It was a perfect home base between the beach, the pool, restaurants, shopping and sight-seeing. The other residents of the complex were very friendly and helpful in recommending restaurants and destinations. It all felt like home away from home.
The beach is as flawless a beach as you will find in central Florida. The pools were saltwater (one is heated depending on the time of year) and a great break from the beach and sun. The 52' TV was a very nice way to unwind after the kids were put to bed. Even the sectional couch lets two adults lay out and watch a movie after spending all day on the beach or out sight seeing.
Local restaurants were a real find (Flip Flops is a must, Breakers serves the best burger EVER, PJs was great for seafood, we're picky restaurant goers and didn't have a bad meal during our stay at all pricepoints, that's so unusual), and you're a short drive from decent shopping and most of central Florida's destinations.
If you're looking for a Hollywood/Miami nightlife and crazy party atmosphere, this isn't the place for you. If you're looking for lots of room on a large powder sugar beach, laid back friendly culture, and a place to just unwind with your spouse/family/friends from the hectic pace of real life, then New Smyrna Beach and The Pelican will be perfect for you.
We can't wait to get back here and will absolutely be staying in this unit again. To us, there's no point in staying anywhere else now that we've found this gem.
You're always taking a chance when you rent a condo based on reviews and pictures, but we hit the jackpot when we found this place. Rent with confidence. Worth every penny.

Family Spring Break 2010

This was the 1st family vacation we have taken with all 8 kids and we all had a wonderful time. This unit was very clean and updated, great views, and access to pools and beach. The pictures shown are exactly what get. We met with Cindy (the owner) on Saturday and she gave us pool passes, parking passes and answered any questions we had. The condo is centrally located near grocery stores, Souvenir shops and many restaurant/bars...anything and everything you'll need. We were married right on the beach outside our condo which worked out wonderful since the condo's are right on the beach. The complex held a Luau, which included a limbo contest, hoola hoop contests, free face painting, food, drinks, dj and prize. One of the pools is heated which is nice if it gets cooler, I like having an option to choose the unheated pool on hot days too. The beach has sandy white soft sand and the water is very clean. We saw several dolphins and the kids had a blast boogie boarding which Cindy had provided in addition to towels, sand toys and beach chairs. This was a great place to stay and we'll be back next year.
