Wonderful Stay!
NWI Boat Mom
(Northwest Indiana)
Review submitted: March 3, 2010
Date of arrival: January 2, 2010
We had the opportunity to stay at this beautiful house for 6 weeks in January and February, 2010. The home is exactly as described, bright, open, airy, brand new, with open water views. We especially enjoyed sitting on the deck outside the master bedroom taking in the view (with a nice cold beer!).
We had some unseasonably cold weather the first 2 weeks in January, but enjoyed ourselves despite that! After enduring 2 feet of snow in Northwest Indiana we welcomed the change!
Some highlights: Walking to the No Name Pub for pizza and chicken wings (we especially liked the carribean variety), Bahia Honda State Park, walking on the 7 mile bridge, the Key West Conch Train Tour, dinner at the Square Grouper and shopping at the very convenient Winn Dixie right on Big Pine. Day trips to Key West are easy from this home, and we went there several times. We especailly liked the sunset music cruise on the Fury catamaran out of Key West. And, no matter how many times we see them, we are always amazed at the Key Deer on Big Pine Key!
The home is well stocked, with a new gas grill that we used frequently. We also brought our small boat and were able to launch it easily right on the property.
Perhaps the nicest surprise is how wonderful Ann is. She is a gem! Easy to deal with and so friendly! Full of helpful suggestions on how to make your stay perfect. I recommend this home without hesitation! We will be back!

What a GREAT stay we had in this perfect home nestled in the perfect neighborhood. Ann was absolutely wonderful to work with and I consider myself having made a new friend. The neighbors are a delight and could not have been more accomodating with local information. The Key deer were an unexpected treat and we enjoyed seeing them daily as we walked to the No Name Bridge for fishing or the No Name Pub for pizza and beverages. The home's location could not have been better. We had everything we needed when we cooked "in" which we did often and we found it to be clean and extremely comfortable - just perfect. What more can we say other than we decided on the plane heading home that our first call once back in Richmond was to Ann to book this home for next year which we did. Thanks again for an amazing stay in your home, Ann.

My family and I had a wonderful visit to Big Pine Key. This house was very nice and comfortable with plenty of room and all the amenities of home.
My husband loved that fact that the boat could be parked under his bedroom! We did plenty of fishing and even caught a few tarpon on back dock. The owner is great to deal with and the nieghbors were all very pleasant. We are already planning a trip back next year!

My family had a great mini reunion staying at this rental. We are Floridians, so we are very familiar with the Keys and the location of most places. We had a boat, so this was a great location to access fishing areas and Looe Key for snorkeling. Of course were also in the middle of the Key Deer Sanctuary, so they were very plentiful day and night. Everything is close by and convienent. Everything was as Ann said. All the rooms and beds were very comfortable, everything was clean and in good order. Thanks Ann for a great place !

Ann, your house was the perfect place for our much anticipated fishing trip. Myself and 5 cousins had more than enough room to relax and enjoy everything Big Pine had to offer. The house has more than enough space to accommodate all the boat you need to fish the waters around Big Pine. We were able to dock at 20' flats boat, a 22' bay boat, and a 27' center console without being cramped. The two smaller boats were even launched from the boat ramp on the property. You're just minutes away from all the inshore fishing you could ever want and only 15-20 minutes from the deep side of the reef. I certainly look forward to staying here again. Look forward to staying here again!

The six of us had a great time at Ann's place.
The seas were so friendly that we went boating everyday. The full moon was beautiful on the deck in the evening. We caught lots of nice fish including yellow tail, grouper, dolphin and a big beautiful sailfish. Looe key diving was spectacular. A 300# jewfish practically attached his self to our boat and never left our side till we pulled anchor.
The house was great and the boat dockage was excellent for two 25' boats.
Ann, the owner is responsive and a joy to work with.
Oh and thanks to Bernie across the street who was a wealth of knowledge about the area and made us feel welcome in the the neighborhood. :)

What a wonderful place! The house is so peaceful and beautiful. The pictures do not do it justice. This place was a perfect place for our anniversary. With the house being centrally located, it was easy to make day trips to Key West or Bahia Honda State Park. We felt very much at home. I would recommend this place highly. I would love to make another trip. Thanks again Ann for all of your ideas for sightseeing and dining in the area. You have beautiful home. Thanks again for sharing it with us.

Thank you Ann For allowing us to stay in your wonderful house, it was everything you said it would be! We arrived April 14th and right away we met some wonderful neighbors who were very helpful on letting us know what see and where to visit since it was our first time in the Florida Keys. We came for April vacation so our son who is 14 and niece who is 20 could come with us. They enjoyed the Key deer that would just come right up to us. They also enjoyed the Iguanas that were everywhere, my husband and I loved the sunrise the most it was nice to be able to just open the doors in the bedroom that open up to the deck. We can not wait to come back next year!!
Thanks Again Ann

Just a note to let everyone know what a nice place this is! We were there for 2 weeks and had a blast! The house was just as described. Weather was great and we got to do plenty of fishing right off the back porch.Caught plenty of mangrove snapper to have a couple of fish frys! One of the plus of the house is the neighbors! They were some of the nicest people we have met. Everyone was friendly and try to help you any way they could! Ann was very nice and a pleasure to deal with! Hope to talk with you and get to come back next year!

Thank you Ann for providing such a great place. We have been comming to the keys for 15 years and have never stayed in such a wonderful location. This year we brought my elderly parents who have friends in the keys.........Even they commented on how well kept and nice this house was for a rental property. We were worried about having only one vehicle, but my Dad and husband were so close to "Strike Zone" Charters and No Name Bridge, it did'nt matter. On the one day we did venture down to Key West for the day and left "the guys" behind they walked over to the bridge...fished...then had lunch at No Name Pub. They were happy and so were we!
We look forward to our next trip, and will most certainly try and stay on Baileys Lane.....Oh and did I mention everyone in the area.....Great, great people, by the end of the week we were walking with them. Just a wonderful neighborhood and a great house.....And the Key Deer are amazing!!
Thanks Again,

By Jack and Karen (Vero Beach FL)
Ann's place is one of the most neat, clean and nicest places we've stayed in the Keys, and we've been going to the Keys for 30 years. The crown molding and marble were such nice additions. The 3 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms made it perfect for my wife and I and our 2 daughters and their husbands. We were all together in a spacious comfortable place, yet we also each had our own space. And I loved the "boat garage", the covered slip under the master bedroom. What a bonus and treat that was!...along with the outside shower, which I have at home, and which made me feel right at home. The daily visits by the Key Deer were adorable, and being so close to the No Name Pub was great. We had their pizza 3 times in a week! We caught some nice yellowtail about 5 miles offshore in only about 50' of water, some cuda at the red marker about 3 miles straight out from the US1 bridge and some nice sharks (2 blacktip and one nurse, all about 4-5' long) in the back country near the Content Keys on the flats and got into a couple of schools of nice jacks near both the Bahia Honda Bridge and the other US1 bridge closer to Big Pine. We also saw a lot of tarpon roll right out by the No Name Key Bridge, and saw one guy jump one, but we couldn't get any of them to bite. Great place, Ann. Thanks for the memories!

Ann,
We had a wonderful time at your house. The weather was beautiful. We did catch some fish, boys shot some hog fish, and they also caught tarpon. We were able to catch enough snapper for about 8 meals. We went snorkeling at Loo key and it was perfect, flat day and beautiful fish and coral. Loved the key deer and went to the No Name Pub twice. Drove to Key West twice and had a great time. Visited Bahia Honda beach. My husband used the Kayak everyday. Even saw a deer swimming in the water. It was great we could go out for a couple of hours on one boat, then switch off with the smaller boat for skinnier water. Was so convenient to wash the boats down right at the dock. Had fun catching bait with a sabiki rig. My son brought a bait "motel" that he made and we tied it to the dock to keep the bait alive. Half our group gets seasick so the seas were perfect. Only one day very rough. Did some night fishing and the almost full moon was beautiful on the water. Your house was a pleasure to stay in, beautifully decorated and convenient to all the waterways. Your neighbors were also very friendly and helpful. We hope to stay there again sometime.

This house is perfect. I'm a full time florida resident, and therefore, have made many trips to various Keys...this was the best! If you are into fishing, it's the perfect location! The boat ramp was super convenient, and the ability to leave the boat in a sheltered area at night was fabulous! Some great restaurants near by too. The house was immaculate, bright, and spacious. There is plenty of room for 6-8 people without anyone being cramped. Also, Ann could not have been more of a pleasure to work with on this rental. She was super helpful, and got my security deposit back to me extremely quickly! I wish we could have stayed at least twice as long...enjoy!

This rental property was perfect for us! Spacious, private, clean and right on the water. The boat slip held our son's charter boat and there is a great launch about two blocks away. Tarpon fishing off the BahaiHonda bridge was phenominal. We jumped about 20 and caught 9, none under 100 lbs and the biggest about 150 lbs. BahaiHonda beach was so beautiful we went at least three times, but watch out for the little key deer, they are everywhere! The whole area is great for the nature lover. Ann is a real pleasure to rent from and we hope to get back again soon. If you just want a good burger and fries for the young ones don't miss Coco's next to the WinnDixie, delicous.

We had a great time and enjoyed the home and its location immensely. We brought our boat with all of our fishing and diving equipment and the house is situated perfectly to accommodate all of that. Being able to load and unload everything right under the house and have all of your equipment so accessible made the trip that much more enjoyable. It was great to have the room downstairs as a staging and clean up area for all of our activities. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the sunrise in the mornings and watching the sunset while waiting for the key deer to show up in the evening. What a friendly bunch of deer – we loved visiting with them. Diving the Looe Key was an awesome experience; so many beautiful fish to see. We enjoyed the couple of walks we made to the No Name Bar for dinner – how convenient and the food was great. The Carp fishing was a blast and we also enjoyed a visit from a thirsty Manatee. Overall; the house has a great open floor plan that worked very well for two couples to share and having Wi-Fi was a great bonus. The neighbors were very nice and the experience with Ann was extremely pleasant. Will definitely revisit. Thank you for Sharing your home with us, Ann.

We have stayed at many places in the Keys with our family and our boat, and we all agree this was the best. Having the boat right there under the house, with our rods, reels, dive equipment, coolers, etc., at our fingertips made getting ready for any boating experience so much easier. The downstairs area was especially nice, because our adult children and their husbands could hang around down there when they needed some space. We loved being able to just put our boat towels out on the line to dry after a day of boating and then grab them off the line the next morning. The outside patios were well used, as we waited for sea-farers to come home. Although the Atlantic was very rough, we were able to dive on the coral heads near the shore one day. There was plenty of fishing and diving on the Gulf side, though. We took several kayak trips from the house around the nearby islands, and we rode our bikes up to the Key Deer visitors center (best selection of children's books) and all around the area. No Name Bar is an easy walk for a quick bite to eat, although we're glad we made it to Boondocks one night to hear the absolutely amazing blue grass band (only there Oct. to May). In addition to going to Key West several times, we spent a day at Bahia Honda State Park at the beach, one of the loveliest in America. We climbed up to the beautiful railroad bridge, where we got some great pictures and watched a ranger catch a non-native iguana. Since the dive boat from Bahia Honda cancelled everyday, we went out on a local boat. It was very reasonable, and the office is on the right, just after you head south from Key Deer Blvd. Even with the rough seas, the trip to the Looe Key reef area was wonderful. With so many things right at our fingertips, it was easy to take advantage of most of them. This was a relaxing, easy going vacation, but with lots of adventure, if you care to seek it out. A great place, and it has Key Deer right in the yard!

You could not ask for a better location in the keys. You are only 40 minutes north of Key West and there are many great restaurants close to home; one that you can walk to.
We had two couples and were quite comfortable on the top floor. There is a very large bottom level that has a KING bed and a queen futon, but the connecting stairs are outside.
It was enjoyable just chilling down by the water and trying to identify all the birds flying by. We had Key Deer that came right up to our hands.
You will have super communications with Ann.

My husband and I rented Ann's home the month of January 2011. Ann was the greatest! Easily contacted via cell phone or email. Even checked in the first day to make sure we made it safely. The view was wonderful from the windows and deck. Loved sitting on the top deck in the morning and moving to the lower dock area to bask in the sun. The home is everything Ann said it was, very clean and comfortable. We loved the area and only 1/2 hour from Key West. We brought our 18-1/2 foot Crestliner. We were thrilled having the boat under Ann's home and really easy to clean fish. The pelicans would come to get the fish scraps, at times there were over 12 to 15. Really fun to watch them fighting over the scraps. We went out on both the Gulf and ocean. Caught barracuda, red fish and fish we didn't even know what they were called. Caught a 8 foot shark and luckily it broke the line. Bernie, Ann's neighbor came over to welcome us and gave us plenty of fishing tips. A wonderful restaurant called Barracuda in Marathon is a must. Wonderful lobster $28, Thia pot stickers are to die for, you have got to try them. Of course No Name Pub is a must see. Had a great time definitely would recommend Ann's wonderful home.

My family of 9 gathered this year for the week of Thanksgiving. They came
from Virginia, California and Sarasota, Florida. We have a little cottage
but needed more room for all of us to sleep. This house was wonderful!
On the next lane from our own cottage, and large enough so five of us
slept there. There was a wonderful big table that was large enough for all 9
of us, so we ate our evening meal together there recapping all the days
activities. We rented bikes, and the California teens loved that. Flat country!
With the little key deer being protected with 25 mph speed limit, it was safe
as well as fun for them. House has a great covered space for the boat,
and there was room as well for our kayaks. We kept them there as this
house is closer to the pass than ours. Lots of fishing and diving took place.
A trip to Key West, and the best possible early Christmas gift to the entire
family, a swim with the dolpins at the Dolphin Reasearch Center. Right
around the corner is the No Name Key Pub famous for their pizzia! Conch
and lobster available at the sea food markets to go with the fish we caught.
The house could not have been more convenient or accommodating. Well
furnished and open to the lovely breezes from the pass. We are considering
Thanksgiving again in 2011! Thank you, Ann!

We loved our stay in Annie's big pine key home. We lobster every year and we usually stay on cudjoe key. This year we had a group of 7 people and rented Annie's home on big pine. It was fantastic. It is very spacious, plenty of room to sleep with a beautiful master bedroom and bath. We caught tarpon in the canal behind the house! We have a 22 foot tower boat and it was no problem getting in and out of the canal. The marina and fuel are literally right around the corner. We truly enjoyed our stay.

I've stayed just about everywhere in the keys, and have finally found the perfect home. The waters off of Big Pine key are unique in the fact that they are secluded by many small islands allowing protection from either the gulf or the ocean. Giving the boater many opportunities for either fishing, diving, snorlkling or lobster hunting. If it's rough oceanside, it's easy to go gulf side and vice versus. The house was the cleanest of all I stayed in, the locales were very freindly and informative. Plenty of places to explore right out the back door by bicycle or plain just walking. Don't forget to visit No Name Pub for the pizza, best ever! Grocery store was close by along with other essential shopping venues, make a day trip to Bahia Honda State park either by car or boat, it is worth the trip (by boat 4.2 miles, by car 4.5 miles).
Homeowner was exceptional with information, and very helpful. Key west was only 30 miles away for evening out on the town. House was very comfortable, I enjoyed sitting out on the 2nd story deck overlooking the bay as the moon would rise illuminating the bay and the bridge to No Name Key, it was spectacular. Tarpon would roll right in the canal behind the house, and fishing was great right in the bay. I woke up one morning to see Key Deer (endangered species) drinking out of a bird bath right across the canal. Didn't get bothered at all by mosquitoes! Can't wait to come back again! Be careful if you go, you just might not want to leave!

My wife and I go to the Keys for Mini-Season every year and Ann's home by far has been our greatest adventure. Centrally located, this beautiful Keys home offered us an array outdoor activities for us to enjoy. We love to dive, fish, boat and most importantly... Relax. The cut-in boat slip is super convenient for when you spend the day out on the water and can come home to leave your boat protected from the elements and leave it prepared for the next day. It also offers quick access to the Gulf or the Atlantic. Awesome neighborhood! Very quiet. Key Deer everywhere. Minutes away from Key West. A must see!. We hope to continue to visit every year from now on.

Great Spacious Beautiful Home in Big Pine Key

We could not have been happier with this house we chose for our family vacation in the Florida Keys. It sits on a canal with a view of the bridge/bay on Big Pine Key in the famous "Doctors Arm", a quiet KeyDeer- filled neighborhood. Our son hooked a tarpon in the canal the first night there, very exciting. The house is like new inside, very comfortable 3/3 with everything you need to relax. Flat screen TV in the LR, nice open floorplan, very spacious rooms. The pics on this website do not do it justice. Ann was wonderful to work with. Great communicator and very helpful with any info we needed, where to eat and what to do! You won't regret renting here.Big Pine is only 30 min from Key West and Marathon and 10 min from Looe Key Dive Center. Great Location. Bring your boat and fishing poles and all your dive and snorkel gear and stay a while! We highly recommend it ;)

The house was very comfortable and met all our needs. We enjoyed trips to Bahia Honda, and Key West. It was great to be walking distance to No Name Pub, thought a bit of advice, they're always crowded and you will probably have to wait for seating. We got to pet deers, and feed the birds. Our boys caught a tarpon in the canal, a shovel nose shark off the bridge, and several other small fish. There was a really nice breeze under the house during the afternoons (wished there was a hammock - hint!). Ann was great to work with - overall a great week.
Thanks Ann for sharing your house.

This is our second stay in Ann's house. (see review from July 09) All photos and information are accurate. Ann is a wonderful owner and very helpful. We stayed here for our first time last summer and were so pleased with the house and location that we came back again this summer. The boat slip under the house is wonderful and our 23 foot center console with "t" tops fit fine. All the neighbors as well as the staff at the Wooden Bridge are so nice, friendly and helpful. Until next year........enjoy!

We stayed at Ann's place the last week of May 2010, and had a great time! The place is very nice and clean inside. The kitchen is well equipped. Key West is only 40min away, and the Bahia Honda beach is only 5 miles away. We saw the island deer everyday, and several times it came very close to us. The owner is fantastic! We have rented different places in the past, and this was by far the best experience. Thank you Ann!

We had Lunch at the No Name Pub everyone really enjoyed the Pizza.

This was a wonderful vacation! Started off great right from the start-Ann is wonderful. Couldn't ask for a better "landlord".
The house is just as described-no surprises. Plenty of room. The neighbors are great for friendly suggestions of where to eat and what to do-but Ann can help you there too. We didn't have a boat, but plenty ammenities for this.
This was my first expereince renting a house and was outstanding. Couldn't reommend this house highly enough. Big Pine Key is such a serene part of the keys-you will love it!
P.S. Take care with those deer while you are down there!

We really appreciated having such a lovely place to come and go from (north toward Marathon and Islamorada and south toward Key West) and just to relax at while experiencing the Keys! Many thanks to Ann for her hospitality and congratulations on such tasteful decor. All in all a clean and comfortable place with the nearby No Name Bar and short drive to the major Supermarket adding to the convenience. The lower floor bedroom and bath with its separate entrance provided for additional privacy as well.

On Thanksgiving, I find it appropriate to write my review of Ms. Ann's rental home on Big Pine Key as I could not be more appreciative to have been blessed to stay there earlier this month. From the first communications with her to the continued support and friendship that blossomed afterward was a blissful experience. The house is devine with classic beachfront decor with understated elegance. None of the bright pastels and kitschy decor so often found in beach rentals. From the tile details in the new bathrooms to the wide open floorplan it's perfect for anyone. The additional bedroom, bath and laundry on the bottom is great. A handicapped person could stay with family if the wheelchair can get over the stone drive or they are slightly mobile. While the kitchen is upstairs, the patio area could be used to eat and gather in good weather. The location was delightful. Morning sunrise from the deck or masterbed, the tarpon jumping in the canal, the easy walk to the bridge over to NoName Key are all priceless. Easy trips to the Blue Hole or just looking out for the Key Deer. Relaxing at the house, taking the kayak up the canal or out to fish under the bridge, renting or bringing a boat as the slip is right under the house, going to Bahia Honda, Key West or other day trips out and about, this is the perfect home to retreat to. We didn't want to leave for our next destination Key Largo for diving that didn't happen due to bad weather. We would've jumped at the chance to go back to Ms. Ann's house. What a doll Ms. Ann is a landlord who becomes a lifeline and a friend. She is the embodiment of what true Key's people are like. The pure essence of someone who treats you like they've known you forever. She is happy to share as much knowledge as possible and provides great care to her home. Her pride shows throughout as an example of her time and devotion to provide you with a cozy place to stay. Her love of the area and through her wanting your enjoyment and stay to be the best it can be are part of what makes this rental unique. Therefore, as I pointed out in this review, this is the rental you'll be forever thankful in finding.

Our Family vacation......
Our family vacation was the best year yet. The house was perfect and described to the "T". The rooms were the perfect size for my family upstairs and the room downstairs was like its own home itself. The pictures are accurate, nice, clean and bright. Just brings in the warm, sunshine in the days as if giving you a big hug. When we were out every night we where able to see the key dear. In the am we looked across the street and where able to see them as well.
Able to fish right from the deck was even a treat.
My in-laws flew in from CL with this being there first visit to the Florida Keys. I am from Florida and travel to the Keys as much as I can and must say this is the best place to stay. Close to everything and being able to keep my boat right there made it even better. We have a 19.5 foot boot, it was tight but was able to get it in and out., just wait for high tide.
My in laws and my family just couldn't get enough. There back in CA and I still in Florida and already trying to plan another trip.
Ann was a delight every time we called for additional information was there and ready to answer any questions.
Thank you Ann for opening your home to people like me who love to travel and still like to feel at home.

Hey ya'll!
If you are looking for the perfect getway in the Keys, look no further. This house is in probably the best location I've found anywhere in the Keys. It is only one lot in from the channel, one block over from the marina, right in the middle between Bahia Honda and the Content Keys. PERFECT!
Ann is a sweetheart! She is absolutely GREAT! Thank you so much for a perfect 22nd anniversary, Ann!
The house was clean with plenty of room and the master bath shower is awesome.
We went down with another couple for a double anniversary week from September 19 - 26. We all had a great week.
I've stayed in several places in the Keys over the years but I have to say that this is the best place I've been and I definitely plan a return trip to Ann's.
Bring a boat or rent one while you're there. There's plenty of dockage area and the canal is over 7 feet deep in all tide conditions. Seeing the sunrise from the master bed is another added bonus. The Key Deer were everywhere and we saw all kinds of birds right on the dock. We even had an iguana drop in for a visit. The tarpon schooled right in the canal 5 feet off the dock.
You can't go wrong dealing with Ann. She really is a sweetheart! Give her a call and book this paradise home today!

In my extensive search for a house to rent for our annual Keys trip, I ran across Ann's house. It is a wonderful place to stay. My husband and I have been coming to the Keys, Big Pine in particular for 13 years and have always stayed at a local Campground/Fish Lodge. No complaints there except that after we had our son and I personally cannot go offshore fishing I decided I would like to have a house big enough to spend all day in instead of efficiency apartments. I ran across this listing and called Ann. From the minute we talked I knew this was our forever vacation home for our trips. We will not stay anywhere else.
So I should give a horrible review so it doesn't book up but I can't. So, for anyone who wants a bright, cheery, big open place that is perfect the the ones who stay behind and yet perfect for your hardcore fisherpeople, this is the place for you. I loved the master bedroom. i loved the open floorplan for my 3 1/2 year old to run wide open in.
I loved the satellite TV for evenings. I loved that we actually could park the boat under the house which may not be a big deal to some but was just the best amenity ever. The fish table could be covered because when you load up like we did on fish, cleaning can be a real hot chore. Although a few Coronas make it so much easier.
No Name Pub is one of our regular hangouts when there so you must go and you really don't have to eat anywhere else but Boondocks is another favorite always if you must go off the Key. Of course Key West and Blonde Giraffe has the best Key Lime Pie anywhere on the planet so go. They have a store on Marathon on you way home you can get your Pie Fix.
Ann's house is the bomb. Her house is very well equipped in the kitchen. No hand mixer, so if you plan on doing baking like me be aware of bringing your own. Plenty of towels. Property was well maintained. Great customer service. Ann is always a call away and answers promptly. She really cares that you enjoy your stay. The local Keys info in the living room is great it came in handy when my son and I got bored. We took off in the car and did some exploring.
Yada, yada, Yada. So, in a nut shell stop searching, book it and have fun.
Thanks Ann and we call you next year!

Thanks to Ann for a wonderful holiday. The house was exactly as described, location much better than we expected - exceptionally beautiful, peaceful setting. We loved the house, very cool and spacious, plenty of room for our family of 6. Loads to see and do nearby; we spent several days at Key West, loved Sombrero Beach at Marathon (free, didn't spot any turtles but reliably informed they are there). We spent our evenings relaxing on the deck, stargazing and listening to the lapping waves down below. The house itself is very homely, very comfortable, has all amenities. If we had any suggestions for additions, we might suggest a kettle - being Brits, we love a cup of tea! We loved our time at the house, it was well worth the long trip, highly recommended.

We (5 adults & 2 small dogs) spent the week of July 4th. We had perfect weather and were able to go out fishing and snorkeling every day. The house is spaceous, clean and comfortable. The grocery store and several little shops are very near.
The pictures of the house are very accurate and we were glad to be able to take our dogs with us. Getting up every morning and walking accross the No Name Key bridge is wonderful and I sure miss it! (2 miles round trip). The Tarpon are VERY active in the evening right behind the house with 6 being caught while grilling dinner!
We took our 23 ft Deep V Center with "T" top and were able to pull right under the house into the slip. That was so convenient with shade, fish cleaning table and fresh water right there at the boat.
We were not able to use the ramp at the house. Our boat was to big. Right around from the house is the Old Wooden Bridge ramp. (withing walking distance). If you have a boat larger than 18 ft. you will need to use the ramp at the bridge. You can get everything you need for your fishing trips right there; bait, fuel, tackle, drinks and ice!
Looe Key is just a short boat ride from the house for great snorkeling. Great fishing locations are also near.
We traveled with our boat to Key Largo and snorkled the Grecian rocks at John Pennecamp State Park as well as the Christ statue. These are perfect snorkeling locations It is well worth the effort! You will be glad you went! (If you don't have a boat, you can get on dive boat in Key Largo.) The Park provides maps at the gate. The loading ramp at the park is great.
The neighbors are fun and friendly and we look forward to our return. We always felt very secure and safe. Make sure you observe the speed limits on Big Pine. They are very diligent in protecting the deer. We saw lots of police with radar.
This was our first experience dealing with Ann and she is great. You can't go wrong if you want a great place for your vacation. We are already thinking about another vacation here soon.

We loved this place! It was spacious and comfortable, not formal. The boat slip and canal/channel had plenty of room and depth for our 25' boat with 3' draft under all tide conditions for two weeks. It was so nice to have the boat in the water right at your back door. The ramp on premises is only adequate for a small boat, but the Old
Wooden Bridge Marina (one block away) had a good ramp, fuel, bait, ice and a great staff. The No Name Pub, also one block away, had some of the best food you could get anywhere (on the planet). Groceries, boat supplies, dive shops were all just 5 minutes away. Ann was fabulous to deal with from the reservations, the stay and through the return of our deposit after the stay. There were great dive and snorkel sites and fishing just a short boat ride away. We look very forward to planing a trip back there again as soon as possible.

Ann, thanks so much for letting us use your paradise in Big Pine Key. The house was great, clean and the location was fantastic!!! There were 4 of us guys on our annual fishing trip...We went fishing almost everyday and snorkeling at Lou Key was amazing but I must also tell your future guests to take their boat to Content Key and explore. It is so peaceful and really captures the essence of the islands.(stay in the channel on the trip out there) Went to no name pub and had the world famous pizza around the corner and drove the short distance to Key West for one evening. The picture was included for you. The old wooden bridge marina was right there and everyone there was nice. The gas was affordable, the bait was fresh and the ice was plentiful. The run out to fish offshore literally took us all of 20 minutes and we were trolling for dolphin, tuna and wahoo. We caught a ton of fish, ate very well and made memories of a lifetime! Thank you so much!!! We hope to return in the near future! Oh, and we have to throw in props for Andy the caretaker. He was extremely nice and very helpful with local knowledge. Thanks Andy!

a few evenings and the deer would almost follow you to the pub. Ann was very

My husband and I have been Florida residents for 40+ years. We have stayed on almost all of the Florida Keys. Big Pine Key was our newest adventure. The spacious home is very clean and everything is like new! We used the onsite boat ramp for our 19' boat to launch but chose to use the marina located around the corner to take it out. We encountered the friendliest deer near the home and on No Name Key. The No Name Pub is just like they say "walking distance" and have good pizza.
A review coming from longtime Florida residents, you will not be disappointed in the location to Bahia Honda State Park, Key West or Looe Key Reef.

I spent a week at this beautiful home and felt like I never want to leave. Coming from cold and windy Chicago, this place was a paradise! My family and I were able to completely relax on the large porch, lay in the sun and watch as the big silver fish jump out of the water right infront of the house for a split second. Quiet with just the sound of the palm trees' leaves in the gentle breeze. The house is a pool of light inside, so bright and open. So much space inside for the kids to play. Everything is brand new, appliances, floor, bathrooms. There's everything you'll ever need on your getaway. The location is only a 10 min drive to the sandy beaches of Bahia Honda.
What a great find!
The owner is super friendly and helpful. Suggested a great nearby restaurant. A place we would not have found on our own. And the food sure was fantastic!

Outstanding.. house,location,provisions and Vacation!!
We had a group of six stay at this house in Jan 09..
It was such an awesome place and everything we could have wanted was right there!
The house was so clean and put together for comfort, just lovely! In the first 5 mins after arriving, we
knew we would never want to leave. Thanks to the owner, Ann, she could not have been more helpful!!
We rented bikes for a day, rode around looking at Keys, wildlife, had a 19' boat with us and went to
Bahia Honda.. beautiful !! Did some fishing, too cold for me to get in the water, 2 friends got in and
each got a lobster, we put back... lots of fun for them.
Went to Key West for a night.. what a night.. There was plenty to do, see and kept us busy.
The best part.. being right at the house fishing off the docks, grilling, enjoying the views and hanging out!
Don't think we can wait till next year to come back, plan to be back this summer!! Many, many thanks for the best vacation the 6 of us have ever had!! Kym and company

The house was wonderful!! Beautifully renovated rooms provided a great place for our family to play games, hang out, and eat. We enjoyed the deck overlooking the water and were constantly looking for wildlife!! The property was clean and very comfortable for our family. We enjoyed Bahia Honda State Park, about 5-10 minutes from the house. There were beautiful beaches, stunning views, and great nature trails to walk and look for iguanas! We spent a lot of time down in Key West. There is always something to do and see there. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone! It was perfect to stay a little out from all the action of down town but close enough to go and enjoy! Overall, it was a great vacation with a great location, beautiful weather, and perfect house to stay in!!!!

Big Pine Key is a perfect location if you are looking for a quiet non touristy location and this house is perfect if water access is important. The house has its own boat ramp and covered dock. There is enough room in the house for 6 people to stay very comfortably and each bedroom has its own bath. If you like to Kayak you can launch from the boat ramp and be in beautiful mangroves in a short paddle. If you do not bring your own Kayak there is a rental place just before the No Name Key Bridge. While we were there a manatee visited in the canal which was very cool. We also dove, snorkeled, and brought our bikes. Most of the island streets have bike paths which are paved and flat for easy riding. The house is very clean and has recently been remodeled. The owner is great to deal with and is very helpful. When we return top the Keys next year this house will be tops on our list. If you like to fish or dive there are many charter options in the area. Make sure you speak with the local residents to find the best options. Everyone on the island is very helpful and willing to share their knowledge. Around the corner from the house is the No Name Key Pub which is a must visit. The food is excellent and the decor is priceless. You will understand as soon as you walk in the place. I recommend that anyone looking to relax and have convenient water access check this place out. The only downside was packing to leave.

The house was very clean upon our arrival. Key West is only a 30 min drive. The children enjoyed riding their bikes on the island. The Key Deer were everywhere. The No Name Pub is within walking distance. The food was outstanding. We were very comfortable in the house and the view from the master bedroom and porch are fantastic. We spent the days diving for lobster and the nights fishing from the No Name bridge. We will most definately return!!! Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to create such great memories!!!

Did not want to leave. Great location, fabulous place: clean, well stocked and nicely decorated with amenities close by. The dock was perfect, nice and shady; water access could not have been more convenient. Love the resident tarpon rolling in the canal, day trips to Key West and Bahia Honda, lote of boating adventures. I can';t wait to go back. Julie

We had the best time staying at Ann's! The house is so beautiful! Very clean, lots of room, and great location. There was 8 in our crew and plenty of space for all of us. We brought our 35 ft boat and our friend brought his 18ft boat and had plenty of room for both. The boat ramp worked great for the small boat, the 35ft had to be put in a the marina a block away, NO PROBLEM!! The Old Wooden Bridge Marina had ice and fishing tackle when ever we needed. It was very nice being near the main channel that leads to the Atlantic and Gulf. When we were not on the water, hanging at the house was great. The patio was awesome along with the great view. We had the best time every! Ann was so sweet, you will think you have known her your entire life!

The house is a real gem. SOOO easy to get to the
Atlantic and to the Gulf. It was absolutely the
easiest access we ever had down there. The boat
slip under the house is totally cool - way better
than just tying up one side the boat. We couldn't
use the boat slip because the boat was just too long
but the ramp we used as 2 minutes away. The
house was totally beautiful. The downstairs is like
an apartment - totally private if you have more than
1 couple visiting. We loved it and RECOMMEND it to
anyone wanting a GREAT Keys Vacation!!!

To say my family and I had a wonderful time on our Keys vacation is an understatement. The home was beautiful, clean and exceeded our expectations. The location is perfect, as it is only about 30 minutes from Key West and a short boat trip from my favorite snorkeling/diving location (Looe Key Reef). Big Pine also is home to the Key Deer Refuge and you only have to look off the balcony to see Key Deer, Tarpon, Marine Iguanas, etc... and a short drive will take you to see the wild peacock that roam the island. We also enjoyed some great fishing during our stay. We will definitely be back!!

Ann-
I really enjoyed my stay in Big Pine. The house was beautiful, as was the location. Tarpon rolling in the canal is always a nice thing to wake up to and come home to!
Fishing in the Gulf and Ocean was great- managed a load of snapper and a few grouper as well! The proximity to Key West was also great, and we took two trips to Key West for the day and took the short ride back to peace by evening!
Thanks again, will certainly recommend your home to friends and family!

Ms. Haber,
Just a quick note to tell you how pleased my entire family and myself were with your home.
Being that close to the open water was just perfect for our boating needs.
The accomodations exceeded our expectations, the house was very clean and comfortable for all 6 of us.
The location was convenient yet secluded.
I certainly would refer friends and family to you for their future vacation needs as well, we will plan to return next year ourselves.
Fondly,
Rose
