We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at the Herons' Nest. It was everything you said and more. Just like home! All your food recommendations were awesome! AJ,s out of this world---Breakfast Club on Sunday early a.m. was the ticket! We are looking forward to coming back many times this summer. Thanks for the best 25th wedding anniversary weekend.

Darling Place

Thank you so much for the beautiful "retreat". This is the most peaceful and charming cottage. I love the art work, the porch and the lovely garden. I have relaxed as never before, read 3 good books and listened to the birds sing. Tybee is so great! All of the recommendations that you made are so helpful. I can't wait to come back and bring my husband, he will love it. Even all the rain didn't dampen the spirits of this darling place! Best wishes to you both.

Wonderful Stay

Jason and I had a wonderful stay at the Herons' Nest. It was quiet and private which are two things we look for. We had a long day which included getting married-it was so nice to come home to this clean and comfy cottage.
Even young people enjoy the simple things-ha (both 21 years)

Throughly Enjoyed our Stay!!

We throughly enjoyed our 10 days and especially loved the garden and appreciated all the "amenities". You thought of everything to make our stay delightful---and the washer/dryer made our lives so much easier---and the hot tub---and the "goggled" duck---yay! The location is terrific---and the restaurant book was really helpful---Sundae Cafe was awesome(we went twice). We lucked out finding the Herons' Nest---and leave with warm thoughts(despite the weather).
P.S. and the bikes were wonderful; we felt like kids again! And you have a terrific YMCA. Bye!!

Thank you for a great weekend! We ran all 5 races in the Critz run. Felt and needed this place to recover and relax. I love the personal touches of chocolate on the pillow and our sparkling white grape juice waiting on us! The hot tub was wonderful for our sore muscles after the run and the bikes were a huge help in getting around Tybee.

This is our 4th trip to Tybee and love it more each time! What a wonderful week we have had! This is only the 2nd time we were able to stay at the Herons' Nest, but look forward to many more times. Quaint and Comfortable!

Thank you so much for your quaint and comfortable house. It is beautiful and set in a beautiful location. Max and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast at the Breakfast Club, toured the Light House, walked through the Historic District in Savannah and topped off the night with an exquisite dinner at Ele. We are now on our way to tour Fort Pulaski. Thank you for making our first stay on Tybee Island such a joy!

What a wonderful relaxing 2 days. The accommodations were awesome. You were totally correct when you told me to only bring clothes and cosmetics!
We never imagined it to be so nice and clean. The hot tub, the bedroom, the porches. All so wonderful.
We rode the bikes all over and even stopped at the IGA grocery store and grilled out. How awesome! We can't thank you both enough.

Savannah Rock n' Roll Marathon Stay

This was the perfect spot to relax pre race and revive post race. We always enjoy the Back River area and Fred offered something new. I've lived in Savannah or visited since grade school and this was a 1st!! AJ's at sunset and a crab sandwich did not disappoint!

Thank you Fred and Malinda! We've been to Tybee four times and this spot was the best! You've provided everything possible and it was so appreciated. We were here on a car delivery drive for a brother moving to Florida. Always a treat to be in Tybee. AJ's buffalo shrimp is worth a 1000 mile drive in our book! Huc a Poos is a hoot. We'll be back some day! Thanks for the wine and the hot tub!!

The Herons' Nest was Charming and Comfortable!

Where do I start! The cottage was just the right size and infinitely charming and comfortable! Love the garden and the porch as well. Fred's suggestions were dead on and we followed all for a different feel on our 2nd visit to Tybee. Pizza from Huck A Poo's, AJ's at sunset and the Breakfast Club were all winners. Great to have the bikes too. We took advantage of them all day Saturday and really connected to the island a little more than in a car. This was our anniversary (23 years) and we had a great time. Can't wait to return. Love the peace and quiet nature of the "back river streets". I hope this area never changes. Even hurricane Sandy couldn't spoil our visit.

A wonderful Visit

We had a wonderful visit. The hospitality was great and the pictures do not do justice to the Herons' Nest. It is charming, quaint and relaxing. Tybee Island is the same. Thanks for the memories! Your place is so quiet and comfortable. Plenty of room! We loved the BBQ and the porch. The hot tub was great It is so peaceful here. I am so glad we chose your place for our 1st visit to Tybee. We are here for our belated 4th anniversary and would love to return for our 5th in May. We loved our historic tour with Dina from the "Island Hoppers". Such an informative tour she even gave us extra time because it was our 1 st time and the summer crowd is gone. She had extra time!

Lovely and Comfortable Cottage

What a lovely and comfortable cottage you have provided, a wonderful place for Tom and I to celebrate his birthday! We were able to take advantage of many of the thoughtful amenities from the comfortable bed to bicycles and beach equipment and suggestions on restaurants. We saw a beautiful sunset and sunrise, we saw moonrise right before the fireworks in the middle as if overlooking the fireworks. We spoke with many of the friendly locals and enjoyed the peacefulness of the ocean. Always nice to come back to the "nest" to enjoy the screened porch and the garden and rejuvenate for the next day. Our stay was wonderful. We're energized and rested and we look forward to our next visit, hopefully longer.

Where do I start!!! The best rental we have ever stayed at. Breathtaking garden "serene", everything perfect. Loved all our amenities, nite time perfect, comfy bed. Mornings (early a.m. hours) coffee in hand and country music to listen to while I meditate on your peaceful closed in screened porch as I gaze out of the window to garden view (perfect). Hot tub (wonderful, relaxing) enjoyed much. Home away from home. Loved the restaurants, the beach, all of Tybee Island. Loved visiting Savannah, shuttle service was great from Tybee to downtown. You have done a wonderful job of making this place"PERFECT".

What a wonderful, convenient, relaxing, enjoyable place to come and stay! Very clean, quiet and nice amenities! We loved riding the bikes, enjoyed the patio and garden and your advice on restaurants was great! The beach, shops, lighthouse etc were all so convenient to get to it made it really nice not to have to worry about parking!! We got what we came for and that was to rest and relax and enjoy we did. An Amazing Place to Honeymoon

The Herons' Nest has been an amazing place for us to honeymoon. You have thought of everything. We loved the secluded porch. It was raining the first night we arrived and it was very nice to sit on the screened porch and listen to the rain. Tybee Island will be a future vacation spot for our family. We are just sorry the Herons' Nest can't accomodate our children, but it was a perfect honeymoon.

This is our 2nd stay at the Herons' Nest. We came here for our honeymoon 5 years ago. This has been a wonderful anniversary because of all the thoughtfulness you have put into this place. We had an amazing time here. The cottage was perfect and was a much needed relaxation spot. The bed with the million dollar sheets and the hot tub. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect spot!! Thank you Fred and Malinda

Great Get Away

Thank you so much, we had a wonderful time! This was the first time we have gotten away for years. It was nice to be able to walk places from here to there. The only thing that could have been a little better was the temperature outside. Maybe we can come back again someday. We'll recommend this place to other people. The amenities were clean and we loved being able to use the hot

Enjoy visit to Tybee

We enjoyed our visit to Tybee very much, in celebration of Don's 65th birthday.
the Herons' Nest is charming, nice and roomy for 2 and very clean----which is very much appreciated. We would have liked warmer weather, but seeing there is nothing I can do about my husbands d.o.b. we made the most of it and we are glad we came.

As good as it gets! The Herons' Nest is one of the "cleanest" rentals on Tybee. Fred and Malinda are very kind and make sure you have all that you need for a wonderful visit. So many great places to eat on Tybee too. A very private rental without being secluded.

Perfect Hideaway for a Long Weekend

The best place to stay on Tybee by far. Thank you for your graciousness and hospitality. The Herons' Nest is a perfect hideaway for a long weekend. AJ's for dinner at sunset is an amazing "must do experience". The beach was perfect this time of year. My favorite weekend on Tybee ever.

Loved the towels, pillows and Screened Porch

We had an absolutely wonderful time!!! even with the bad weather, we had a good time. The condo was so wonderfully set up that relaxing here was just what we needed. Love the towels, pillows and screened porch...just to name a few! The location was perfect. We either walked or rode bikes everywhere we wanted to go. Alley#3 is a wonderful secret!

We Will Return for Our Anniversary

We had a beautiful time here at the Herons' Nest. We got married on October 1,2011 and have decided to come back every year to celebrate our anniversary. Lovely Condo

We had a wonderful time in your lovely condo. it is plain to see all the time and love you put into your decorating. The coffee and wine were a perfect touch. The island was beautiful. I read in peace st the pier almost every morning and Daniel spent hours in the hot tub. The condo was nice and clean. The
very best part of our stay were the hours and hours we spent on the screened porch. It is comfy and o so cute! Thank you for this wonderful vacation spot!

Malinda, thank you so much for the wonderful hospitality, warmth and love you have put into this place. It really shows! We have had a fabulous time, despite the cloudy,cooler weather. We only have one regret, and that is we can't stay longer. It was so nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. What an amazing way to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary.

Wonderful Stay

Aaron and I had a wonderful stay here! This place is amazing. You took great care of us and the room was amazing! We had plenty of places to go thanks to the book. It helped us out in many ways. The room had everything we needed and was very clean. I loved the comfy bed; I could have laid in it all day. The distance was great also and we were able to walk to mostly everything. There was never a moment we did not have a great time. Thank you so much, we had a amazing time.

Wonderful Anniversary Vacation

Our trip to Tybee was full of unexpected events and despite the power outage, flat tire on bike, attack gnats on the beach, and the grill messing up on us this was the most wonderful anniversary vacation ever. We had a splendid time and this place was very clean and quite cute. Thanks for everything! We would recommend this place to anyone who wishes to come to Tybee.

Wonderful Rental

We loved our time here at the Herons' Nest. We've stayed at many vacation rentals, but your kindness, hospitality, and preparedness has been the most outstanding ever. The place is wonderful and relaxing and had everything we needed. The beach was wonderful, one of hopefully many visits to Tybee. We were continually grateful for the use of the bicycles, and also for the beach gear.

Honeymoon Stay

We had a wonderful stay here on Tybee Island for our honeymoon. It was the perfect place for us to begin our lives together. We loved that everything was so close and we got to walk everywhere. We really love this place and can't wait to come back again.

Not an upscale condo, but an apt under a house

Negatives
- This is not a condo, much less upscale as stated on their website, but a small 1st floor apt inside a house. You hear the owners above you, and can never feel totally private. It is a feeling of staying in your parents basement. The owners do not pester you, however you do see them daily.
- Mosquitoes. Bring lots of bug spray. They do provide some, but you will need more. We had to buy candles to also help with the bugs. While they have a lovely garden area, we could not use it because of the mosquitoes.

FYI
- TV’s are tiny
- Hot tub is indoor, connected to living area
- Beach access is 4 blocks, but taking the bike makes this very easy.
- House comes with beach towels, bikes, small boogie boards, carts, coolers, beach mats and beach chairs.
- There is a curling iron and hair dryer.
- Internet access and cable TV.
- Check the dates of all condiments/spices before using. We found many outdated items, including one from 2008.
- The pictures from their website are accurate.


Positive
- Bikes – we took the bikes all over the island
- Located in a quiet area
- Owners were very quick to respond and fix a flat tire on a bike
- The house was very clean

Recommended for: age 55+
