Excellent Home, Clean, Beautiful, Accomodating, and Incredible Location

We are a group of professionals in our late 30s who travel frequently. I have rented through vrbo numerous times and found this to be one of my best experiences. The listing manager was incredibly responsive and the house itself was everything you could possibly want in a vacation rental. We came to La Jolla to enjoy the beach of course and this house is unbeatable. A short one-minute walk and you are literally on the beach. The surf was great and the view of Ja Jolla Shores park and the beach and ocean from the deck were breathtaking especailly at sunset. Shops and restaurants are also a very short walk away (about 5 mins). The home is very accomodating and has a very quintessential San Diego feel (cool architecture, open flow with deck seating, etc.). The kitchen has everything you could want to prepare a gourmet meal, and the living areas, outdoor areas, and bathrooms were clean and current. There is also a state of the art washer/dryer on the mid-patio. We found that one of our favorite things was the outdoor bamboo shower which was great for rinsing off after the ocean or before/after the hot tub (which is a very large and most importanty hot, hot tub). We will definitely be back!

Good Local - Like Staying at a Relative's Place

Perfect for those who want to be close to the beach (you can watch the surfing action from your livingroom) and local amenities, for those who need a lot of space and for those looking for a comfortable place to call "home" temporarily.

Our family from Singapore of 2 adults, a 5 year-old, a 1-year old and our nanny booked this property on about 24 hours notice on the day after Christmas. The property manager, Jonah, was extremely responsive in replying to my initial query within half-an-hour. We had enquired about 5-6 places in Orange and San Diego Counties and this offered the best combination of location and availability. That said, while the property is large and in a good location, we found the rate relatviely high for the size of our family during what didn't seem like a "peak" period of the week between Christmas and New Year's.

The property is a short half-block walk to a prime beach for surfing, swimming or just relaxing. As stated in the description, excellent restaurants are a short stroll away as are most amenities a vacationing group might need like supermarket, gas station, Starbucks and even a "postal" store: One hardly needs to drive anywhere.

The house itself is comfortable with a large kitchen with all manner of appliances such as relatively new range, fridge and dishwaher (the latter somewhat rusted though it did the job.) All the applicances are visably well used. There is an enormous pantry stocked with everything once could possibly need for cooking and baking. The newer, large capacity washer and dryer are just outside but worked well.

The dining table is large and inviting and the living room set includes a large "L" shped sofa plus chairs focused on the large-screen TV. Again, the TV's offered hundreds of choices though we couldn't get the sound to work propely (only through the TV itself) in the master bedroom.

All the bedrooms (two upstairs), three down) were adequately sized with comfortable beds and clean, yet, well worn linens. The bathrooms were fine with the two most important qualities: hot water and strong pressure. The jacuzzi was large but is stuck down in the small jungle-like, outside area below the deck so there is no view. The cover also requires at least two people to take it off and replace fully.

Overall, the house is very well-worn and lived-in, so if you are expecting a design showcase, this isn't it. If you want a homey, spacious place in a good location where everything works, try here.

Awesome house...great location

Two families with children stayed here and had a great time. The biggest draw is the beach is a 100 yards away. Safe neighborhood, clean beach, restaurants, grocery store 2-3 blocks away. Albeit very busy on weekends at the beach. The house is quiet, artsy, relaxed, and comfortable. This was awesome and we would definitely stay here again.

Quiet high end beach house, comfortable

two families with children stayed here and had a great time. The biggest draw is the beach is a 100 yards away. Safe neighborhood, clean beach, restaurants, grocerey store 2-3 blocks away. Albeit very busy on weekends at the beach. The house is quiet, artsy, relaxed, and comfortable. Only complaints were master bedroom toilet not fixed while visiting one week, and no place to hang clothes except in master bedroom. Other than this was awesome and would stay here again.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway
