Fun week at the New Jersey Shore

Review submitted: September 18, 2010   Date of arrival: August 28, 2010

- This house was everything we had hoped it would be. Very clean and neat- all the comforts of a home away from home. The only thing missing was a potato peeler and when I told the caretaker - the very next day she brought one over to the house for us ! It was really a pleasure to stay at this property.
thank you

Relaxing week at the shore!

Review submitted: July 7, 2014   Date of arrival: June 28, 2014

Overall a great house on the Jersey Shore. Located in OBII, the house is located on a quiet street with friendly neighbors. Within walking distance of restaurants and donut shop at the end of the street with great food! The home itself is updated to include satellite TV for those rainy lazy days, and air conditioning on those hot summer nights. Updated appliances made it feel ike we never left home. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a Jersey Shore getaway!

6 months stay

Review submitted: May 18, 2014   Date of arrival: December 1, 2013

I stayed here through the winter for my clinical rotation at a nearby hospital. The owners were very helpful and gave me a list of nearby restaurants. There is a tv in every room and free internet. It is very close to the beach and the bay and great location for a runner biker or swimmer.

Cute house.

Review submitted: August 14, 2013   Date of arrival: July 27, 2013

Suited my family of 4 for 2 weeks; minimal storage for clothes -- don't overpack. I left it cleaner than when I got there. Would be nice if house included beach badges...Sofas only tolerable because slipcovers were clean. Bring your own pillows and blankets, etc. Nice to have a TV in every room. Internet connection slow.

Owners response: The beach badge fee, as mentioned in all of our advertisements, has nothing to do with us and goes directly to the local beach association. The modest fee pays for lifeguards, crossing guards, beach cleaning crews, security, fantastic family activities, etc. And it gains you access to the most beautiful beach on the Shore. Certainly worth it for tenants and in our minds is a steal of a deal. There are two closets and some bedroom drawers but as mentioned by this tenant, the home is cottage-sized, so good point - don't bring tons of clothes. There is a washer and dryer inside the home to clean your clothes and bathing suit anytime you want. The sofa is a much better sofa than any of the newer, flimsy, IKEA-type sofas being made nowadays, and it folds out to a great queen-sized bed, so it is a wonderful asset for tenants if they want to sleep two more. The adjoining love-seat is newer and beautiful. High Speed Wifi Internet is FREE for our tenants and works great for us - perhaps this tenant has a slow computer. Who knows? Considering the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy to other homes, we are grateful to have such a beautiful home still intact, and such a beautiful beach to enjoy.

What a great place at the shore. Just big enough for my family of 4. It was close to beach and bay. Great on site parking and great sunsets from back deck. The neighbors were all so friendly... Recommend the property to all. The owners were so easy to deal with. Cant wait to come back

We couldn't make our vacation

Review submitted: June 27, 2013   Date of arrival: June 8, 2013

We planned our vacation to go to NJ for my niece's wedding, we unfortunately had to cancel last minute, my husband had 3 operations in 3 wks time. He was in intensive care for a very long time. I spoke with Ann and she was so nice and very helpful. She allowed us to use our vacation stay at another time, so we are going next year at the same time. This was so nice of her to do this, I felt so relieved that I didn't loose my rental money and she was willing to work with us! Thank you again for helping us during this very difficult time!!! We cant wait to come next year and stay at your beautiful home!!!

Our Beautiful Honeymoon Getaway!

Review submitted: August 11, 2012   Date of arrival: February 27, 2012

My Husband and I along with our dog spent a magical month in Lavallette at this lovely home. We got married while we were there and spent our honeymoon celebrating the start of our life together with romantic walks along the beach, cooking dinners together in the fabulous kitchen and waking up to morning coffee in the bright and cheerful living room with the pretty sunshine gleaming through the nice big windows. The house was neat and clean and the location was close to everything you need, including the grocery store down the road and just a short walk to the beach. We will definitely be back to visit the place where we have beautiful memories that will stay in our hearts forever!

My husband and I had a great time! The place was very neat and comfortable. It was easy to find and close to a lot of fun things to do, even though it was not quite summer. We will definitely be back next summer.

Cozy Little Cottage

Review submitted: April 9, 2012   Date of arrival: April 1, 2012

This place was such a comfortable place to stay. My family and I (four of us) had such a nice time staying this close to the beach and our friends. Make sure you bring linens and towels, as there aren't any provided. My kids and my husband liked the fact that there was a PlayStation and TVs in every room. We loved that we could see the sun set on the bay while we ate outside on the deck. The cottage was fairly clean (some hair on the floor and dirty dishes), but overall a very nice place and had all the amenities that we needed. Thanks for such a great stay.

Great Vacation

Review submitted: October 9, 2009   Date of arrival: August 29, 2009

This house was so elegantly decorated. When I first walk in, it truly captured the whole style of shore living. THe place was extremely cozy, confortable and accomadating. The entire family loved the stay as we already booked again fro next year. THe house is conveniently located to beach, bay, shopping, Point Pleasant Boardwalk, and Seaside Boardwalk. We are soo forward looking to our stay again next year...

August 09 vacation

Review submitted: September 8, 2009   Date of arrival: August 29, 2009

I have to concur with the positive sentiments of previous reviewers. House was beatifully maintained, clean, and comfortable. Owners were very easy to deal with, as was the property manager.

Yes, its a walk to the beach or the bay...but not far or strenous unless you really have a mobility problem.

Very quiet neighborhood...you can hear rte 35 traffic, but not to the point of keeping you awake.

This was our first time renting a house...didn't think to bring toilet paper, paper towel, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, fabric softener etc...but A+P two miles south was easy enough to buy those things. It was my wife and I, and our two kids. It does sleep six with the pull out couch, but that would make it a little 'cozy'--we thought of inviting my mother for the trip, glad we didn't!

Easy 2-3 mile drive to Seaside Heights/Park, if you want kids activities. A little longer (20-30 minutes) to Point Pleasant Beach/Jenkinsons Amusement Park. Highlight within Lavalette was Music Man Cafe. Nice bagel store right at the end of the block.

We would definitely stay here again."

Wonderul Relaxing Vacation

Review submitted: June 22, 2009   Date of arrival: June 22, 2008

My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Jersey shore. We were there in June 2008. The house was close to everything we needed, a short walk to the beautiful beach. The beach was well maintained and very clean.
We especially enjoyed the sunsets on the Bay side which we could see from the house. The neighborhood was quiet and quaint and we were able to enjoy our walks in the evening. In the morning I was able to go running.. The house is well maintained and cleaned which was important for my husband since he suffers from allergies...

Perfect Getaway

Review submitted: June 4, 2009   Date of arrival: January 1, 2008

My husband and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this property. We love the fact it was a few blocks from the beach ( with beach passes ) - all of the stores, boardwalk and night life is right around the corner. Very convenient, overall. The kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms were very well maintained, the house was a dream to stay in. In addition to the great property, and near by activites, the owners were an absolute delight to deal with. Our experience was very enjoyable.

Overpriced rental

Review submitted: June 2, 2009   Date of arrival: August 1, 2008

I stayed at this home in the summer of 2008. This home is 2 houses away from Rt 35 and very noisy at night. The house is really 2 blocks from the ocean since it is at the end of the block. The owners keep advertising the home as a new home, but it was renovated a few years ago, 2005 I believe, and it really isn't well maintained. The rugs are cheap and dirty. The LR furniture is old and uncomfortable. The kitchen stools are old and uncomfortable. There is little storage space for clothing. The patio is very small with no room for children to play. The staircase going in and out makes cooking outdoors an inconvenience and a nuisance. This house is very overpriced.

Owners response: Sorry to see this tenant was unhappy. We do everything in our power to help our clients have a great vacation. And we always encourage tenants to check out the home before they book it... In fact, every room is pictured here so there are no surprises.

That said, we are a bit puzzled by this review because the tenant emailed us immediately after her vacation, saying we had a "lovely home." The tenant certainly has a right to change her mind, but there are some inaccuracies in this review...

For one, the house is new. It was completely demolished and rebuilt - except for one interior wall (to keep from being taxed as "new" construction). As the pictures show, this home was rebuilt, is new, and in our humble opinion, looks great...

Plus, we spend a lot of time and money maintaining it. For instance, all the carpeting was replaced in 2008 and it looks like new. We are painting the deck in May, 2011. We love this home and always try to make it look beautiful...

Concerning the furniture - the kitchen now has new, cushioned swivel stools; and the LR has a nice, soft, pull-out sofa bed (see pictures)...

As far as location - we are in the middle block between the ocean and bay. We are closer to the bay side, but to get to the ocean you have to cross one street. It is a very short walk to the beach...

The size of the home, patio and lots are all the same in this area, except for homes right on the water (which are three times more expensive to rent). If a tenant is looking for a place for the kids to run around, we suggest using the sand playground about 75 yards away on Harbor Drive...

As far as price, we hope tenants look around to find the best deal. Please do. You will find our prices are less expensive than other comparable new homes in the area...

We turn away dozens and dozens of possible tenants every year because we are always booked full. And we have many repeat tenants who love this home...

We do remember this tenant lost her wedding band while staying at the home, so perhaps that is what spoiled her stay. Either way, we are sad she was not happy in the end. We do the best we can to make everyone's vacation a joyful one.

love Ocean Beach!

Review submitted: September 11, 2008   Date of arrival: August 30, 2008

I grew up spending 1 or 2 weeks every summer in Ocean Beach. I couldn't wait to take my family starting this year for the same experience.
The house is excellent. Location couldn't be better. Very clean and new. Deck space appears much larger than all other house in the surrounding area. Dealing with the owners was more than pleasant. We will definately consider renting the house again for next summer....and probably for a longer time period.
