Lovely cottage, lovely people

We have been big fans of Mt. Desert Island for years and this is the nicest place we have stayed for charm, comfort and location. And how many places have a chipmunk that waits for you on the front step when you return to the cottage? The owners also are very nice and helpfully steered us to some good kayaking spots.

"Welcoming, lovely accommodations"

"Nature abounds in this quiet, private setting in quaint Somesville. It has all that anyone could ask for...welcoming lovely accommodations, close to Acadia Nat'l Park, and a family-like atmosphere. Both Juniper and Franklin Cottages have been our home away from home for many years. We keep coming back for the unforgettable, delicious month of rest and relaxation."

Our home in Maine

My wife and I have stayed in Franklin each summer for the last five years and we could not imagine a better, more relaxing place in Maine. The house is wonderfully decorated, spotless, and has all one could want for an enjoyable visit. It's close to great hiking, paddling, and shopping, yet when you're at the house you feel like you're at your own little secluded refuge in the woods. Best of all, Ken and Marilee are amongst the most accommodating, helpful, and welcoming hosts we have ever had.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, pet-friendly, sight seeing, romantic getaway
