This was my family's second visit to Whiteface Lodge. We were thrilled with the layout, size, luxury and views this particular suite offered. There were 8 of us in total and the suite accomodated all of us in comfort. The Whiteface Lodge is a true 5 start resort geared toward active families. My family regularly visits Switzerland and the Whiteface Lodge reminds us of the types of hotels you find there (less than 100 rooms with quality and service abound).
The owner Leslie was promt in responding to our inquiry and if anything, understated just how impressive her suite is! The check in/check out process was seamless and painless. This suite comprises two floors and is located on the top floor of the hotel with easy access to the Kanu restaurant and lounge as well as the main entrance to the Lodge itself. The views of Whiteface mountain are breathtaking, especially from the Master bedroom.
There is so much to do at this hotel that I could not begin to list all of the activities. Some of the highlights my family enjoyed: the day camp for the kids (we also used the night camp so the parents could go for dinner at Lake Placid Lodge down the road which was incredible), the pool is really nicely done with indoor/outdoor access and some great hot tubs, the S'mores campfire nightly is a great touch as are the fresh cookies left in your room nightly, the shuttle service to the Canoe Club which is the Lodge's private beach front site located a few minutes away on Lake Placid (includes free paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, badminton, volleyball and basketcall courts).
The weather was so nice during our visit that we did not use the movie theatre, gym or games room with bowling alley. We will definitely go back in the winter to enjoy these features along with the ice rink.
I realize that this review probably sounds as though I work for the hotel however our experience really was that good and I felt compelled to share it.

Beautiful views, perfectly large for a large family. Plenty of room - there's a four season porch that can be used as another bedroom or a gameroom which is what we used it as to play Yahtzee with the kids!
It was truly magical. We have stayed at the Lodge plenty of times but this was by far our best stay, due to the location in the lodge.
Staff is friendly and very helpful. Service is impeccable. They clean the room morning and night - doing dishes, straightening. The suite was very clean and beautiful. Homey, it's like being a guest in a friend's lodge, but with your own suite. Soo perfect!
Will be back for sure!!!!!!

This was our extended family's second stay in this condo at the beautiful Whiteface Lodge. Those staying in the unit included four children under age four (two in cribs, provided by the Lodge), two twenty-somethings who love to ski and snowboard, four thirty-somethings who love the outdoors, and an active grandma. We all felt comfortable and pampered during our stay. This unit is clean, spacious, and well-lit with beautiful views of the mountains. The staff at the lodge could not be more accomodating, polite, and helpful. The activities are plentiful and cater to all ages. Could not recommend any more highly!

we had the best time! this was our second family stay at this property, and as before, it was EXCELLENT! The staff is friendly and helpful, the environment clean and beautifully decorated -- they go all out for the holidays! There are so many activities for all interests and ages. Surrounding trails in the snow covered forest were fine for an on-campus walk. The Kanu lounge is perfect for a glass of wine and a relaxing moment by the fire. I could have stayed another week!

This is our second visit to this property and we have already booked to come back! We love the Whiteface Lodge and cannot say enough wonderful things about the property, and staying in this Grand Lodge is the icing on the cake! It is absolute luxury with everything you need...two fireplaces, a sleeping porch, amazing views, a beautiful master suite, and on and on. Our family of four and a guest had an amazing vacation.

The photos and property website don't do this any justice!! It is even more beautiful in person.
We stayed for a long weekend with my husband, our three children (4,4,&2), my sister and her husband, and my parents.
Resort- Not a detail has been missed! From the moment we walked in the front door we were greated with a smile from everyone we encountered. The service was excellent. If anyone is even thinking about going around the holidays, I strongly suggest it, the decorations are wonderful.
Condo- So much room. We utilized all three rooms, plus the 4 season room. Everyone had more than enough space, very comfortable yet all the luxuries you would expect from a 5 star resort.
Overall it was one of the best places we've stayed, and we can't wait to return.

This is the most beautiful place we've been to.... and we keep coming back! We recently spent the weekend at this amazing property. We made good use of the three bedrooms, four season porch and pull out couch. With 6 adults and 3 children we had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy!
The well appointed accommodations were exceptional and the service was excellent. We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant, swimming, hot tubbing (yes, in the rain), the game room and the amazing spa. The valet service to down town is a great perk. The snow flurries throughout the weekend added the perfect touch to our vacation. Our boys loved to swim between the indoor/outdoor pool in the snow.
Prior to our arrival we were provided with an activities list for the Lake Placid area. This allowed us to purchase tickets for a magic show in advance of our arrival. Due to the popularity of the sold our show we were happy to receive this information in advance so we could attend.
This property is a must for anyone who wants to experience the best at so many different levels. We're ready to book our next vacation to this amazing home away from home. Don't miss out!

My husband and I stayed in this lovely condo with his mother, his two brothers, and their significant others (plus two toddlers!). We used all three bedrooms plus the enclosed porch as a fourth bedroom and everyone slept comfortably. Both my sister-in-law and myself were very pregnant at the time and we felt comfortable and at-home in this cozy lodge (I even got treated to a prenatal massage in the spa!). The beds were fabulous, the living area spacious, well-lit, and clean, and the kitchen convenient for making our own meals, when we opted to. Housekeeping was very attentive, thorough (they will load and unload the dishwasher!) and left soft, oversized cookies with turn-down service every evening. It was a cloudy/rainy weekend in May but we still had no trouble keeping ourselves (and our toddlers!) entertained. There was so much to do, without ever having to leave the resort. We especially enjoyed the pool, the game room, and the KANU lounge area. The town of Lake Placid is very close and offers affordable restaurants and shops. We had a wonderful time and would love to return again someday.

Beautiful condo, as described by very helpful owner, on great property with plenty to do for all ages. The condo was able to comfortably accommodate 8 adults (varying ages) and 2 toddlers. So many activities for all ages right on the grounds–which is wonderful with small children! Some of our favorite amenities were the indoor/outdoor pool, movie theater and bowling ally. We felt relaxed from the moment we entered the main lobby, the staff is very friendly and in general the warm and low key environment surrounds you. Great vacation spot! Would recommend it to anyone.

What a beautiful place! We went with our 3 children, ages 3, 4, and 7. They loved it and so did we. Plenty of room for everyone and more. Lots of things for the kids to do. The private beach was a big hit with canoes, kayaks, and sand toys with lunch available. The concierge was very helpful with information about local hikes and restaurants that were appropriate for our family. Plenty of TVs and a DVD player in the room with movies available at the front desk for some quiet time. The Camp Kano counselors were very good with the kids. Plenty of treats for the kids: cookies every night with turn down service, smores by the fire, or ice cream at the parlor! The service was excellent. It was a high class, family-friendly vacation.

The property is exactly as advertised. We came to Lake Placid to attend a wedding and were so pleased with this condo. The location of Whiteface Lodge is just beautiful. We woke up each morning, drinking our coffee, to watch the sunrise over Whiteface Mountain from the screened-in porch. We loved being pampered by housekeeping, with turn-down service and meticulous attention to detail. We brought our 14 year old son, who found plenty to do at the lodge, with swimming, roasting marshmallows, kayaking at Camp Canoe, and playing pool in the game room. Lake Placid itself offers so much;from sightseeing, adventurous day trips, great food, & breathtaking views.

We just got back from 6 nights at this condo. It was everything, and more, than the owner promised it would be (who was very helpful!). We had 6 people above age 20 and two 15 year olds. There was plenty of room and the condo was beautiful. We couldn't have asked for a nicer place. There is so much to do in Lake Placid (hiking, canoeing, kayaking, olympic venues, etc..), and there is also plenty to do just within the lodge itself. Whiteface Lodge is spectacular. The staff was great. Definitely a first class feeling. We noticed several families with younger children who always seemed to have alot of activities or 'Camp Kanu' to keep them busy and having fun. I would highly recommend it to anyone, all ages. Wish I could go back soon!
