? Love Love Love it! ?

Review submitted: March 31, 2014   Date of arrival: March 28, 2014

This was our spring break family mini trip. My fiance, myself with our 4 kids. Kids love it as well with lots to do at the cabin at night after the days filled with lots of sigh seeing etc...
Great set up and floor plan. Love that its more in the woods and away from town way up in the Mountains. Quiet, with great views. We saw all kinds of wild life like different birds, a raccoon, deer, wild turkeys, and squirrels. The only thing we did not see was a bear, like the kids where really hoping for. (maybe next time)
Only dislike is how steep & narrow the roads are to get to and from the cabin. After the first day it was not too bad, since we where getting used to driving it. But the 2nd night after dinner out it was raining and made the roads slick as well. If I would have not had my mini SUV I may not have made it. Actually saw a guy in a little car have troubles getting into area too due to the same conditions down the road from Beary Blessed.
All and all, we will def be back with or without the kids for another little get away.

I just can't stop raving about our stay

Review submitted: January 9, 2014   Date of arrival: December 21, 2013

Sheila & Keith,

I just can't stop raving about our stay in the mountains (and don't want to). I have wanted to do this for years and this was the first time renting a cabin. The cabin was comfy and supplied all our needs. My family and I enjoyed our stay tremendously. The cabin was clean, private, had beautiful views and, obviously, well maintained. We were told the bears would not be out because of hibernation and it probably would not snow...Guess what?...We did see a bear and it did snow just enough to elate this Florida family. Thank you for being so constantly pleasant when having to deal with a nervous new tourist. I would say our stay was VERY blessed at the Beary Blessed! Thank you.

A great time even with a few small needed improvements

Review submitted: August 6, 2012   Date of arrival: July 21, 2012

We recently stayed at Beary Blessed for a week. The location is wonderful, right between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We actually enjoyed the winding roads up the mountain to get to the cabin! The overall "curb appeal" of the cabin is nice, and it was quite spacious for our group if 3 adults and 2 children. The view was somewhat limited due to obvious trees and a couple other cabins clos by, but we were able to get a glimpse of some nice sunsets as well as the lights at night. We liked that it had main level entry, too. Other nice features were the nice screend in porch, front porch and porch off second floor bedroom, rocking chairs on the porch, Washer/dryer availability, king sized beds, and jacuzzi tub. Overall, we had a nice stay. There are a few things we did feel could use improvement, though....
...cleanliness--the cabin didn't seem to be cleaned very well, a lot of spider webs inside, dirt in corners and on stairs, hair in bathrooms, hot tub had some garbage in it.
...TVs in bedrooms did not work properly
...kitchen--good amount of supplies but some useful things missing such as hotpads, extra towels/dishcloths, baking sheet. Plus, the dishes were not very clean....maybe the dishwasher needs an update? We found some dishes stored under e sink with cleaning supplies and dirty used scrubbers, which was not very appealing.
...furniture and carpeting are pretty outdated and worn, could use updates maybe.
....might check on raccoons or other animals possibly living somewhere near or the cabin attic?? We heard them rustling around every night.

As said, overall, we had a very nice stay, as we always do when we visit the area. However, we have stayed in some much cleaner and more updated cabins! After reading through the guest books under he coffee table, we found that guests who stayed at the cabin from back in 2009 had some of the same "complaints" and suggestions as we have, and it's 2012! So it seems that maybe those guest books aren't read? We did have a bear most up to our garbage recepticle the last night there, which was great! We were hoping to see one. He just seemed to be checking for food, and when he couldn't get into the cans, he left. Fun to see him! Again, nice stay at a nice place that needs a few improvements.

Owners response: We are so sorry to learn you were not completely satisfied with your trip and did not find things satisfactory. We encourage our guest to let us know upon arrival if you do not find the cabin in satisfactory condition or something is not working correctly. As for animals in the area, they have a tendency to scamper wherever they want, the roofs, the ground, and porches, we remind all our guest that we are in their environment and that this is part of the mountain experience. We do gradual updates to the cabin, in the last few years we have installed a new hot tub, washer & dryer, sofa & recliners. We keep our prices low for our guest so that all walks of life may have an affordable vacation, but also do our best to make the cabin a comfortable home. We will continue to do updates in the months and years ahead as well as continue to keep our prices low for future guest.

Road well traveled!

Review submitted: October 26, 2010   Date of arrival: October 21, 2010

Beary Blessed cabin is indeed on "top" of the mountain. We had a little trouble finding it because the roads aren't marked paticularly well. However, when we did, we loved it immediately. The cabin was clean enough, although, the sheets could certainly be updated. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and utensils. The view would have been beautiful had the person next door not built their house directly in front of Beary Blessed.
All in all we had a wonderful time in the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg area and would recommend it to anyone and we will return next year for sure.

Owners response: I am sorry that you felt the sheets needed to be updated, we use a cleaning company that provides the linens and we will definitely speak with them on some updates for sheets, and yes the view would have been spectacular had their not been a house built in the location it was, but as owners, and as can be viewed by our past guest, the view is still a great one. We do look forward to having you stay with us again

We stayed 7nights at Beary Blessed Cabin and had a wonderful time. Had not been to the Smokey Mountains in 14years. Cabin was very clean and well taken care of, the road to cabin was scary at first but was ok after going to and from a lot. The scenery from the cabin was fantastic and the Bears on the front porch will be an unforgettable memory forever. Went to shows, shopped, and drove and walked through the smokey mountains. Will be coming back soon to Beary Blessed Cabin. It was a "Bear of a Good Time"Don and Dorothy Taylor and family.

We spent 5 wonderful nights at your cabin and had one of the best Thanksgivings ever! We were so impressed with your cabin and thought it was charming, spacious and extremely clean. Your suggestions prior to the trip were so helpful and we enjoyed exploring the area. All of us, including our 2 toddlers, had the best time and, despite the fact that we didn't get to see a bear,we would love to return again in the future.

We stayed for 4 nights and had a wonderful time! The cabin was great and had everything we needed. We never saw any bears like we read other people wrote in the guestbook in the cabin but it was so nice to be there and just enjoy the peace and quiet. The drive up was not as bad either as we had thought. Our trip was a 9 year wedding anniversary/family vacation. We had such a good time. Thank you for everything and we will be back again!

Our family of 5 started a new tradition this year and
booked your cabin for Thanksgiving holiday.

We had the best time and were totally pleased with
the cabin when we arrived. We brought board
games for the family to play and really enjoyed the
foosball table.. We had a tournament every night.

The kitchen was well equipped for me to cook our
Thanksgiving dinner and the Christmas Tree was a
beautiful addition.

We plan to make this a tradition for sure and are
adding Beary Blessed Cabin to our list for next year!

We loved the Beary Blessed cabin! It is really cozy and just the right size for about 4-6 people. We took our 5 month old daughter and had plenty of room for her pack & play, bouncy chair and toys. The kitchen is well equipped and had every item we needed. We got a friendly visit from a neighborhood dog named Sister and she was friendly and playful as could be. My husband was thrilled that the satellite dish had a DVR. I highly recommend staying at Beary Blessed and do not let the drive up intimidate you! Just drive slowly and carefully and you will do just fine. We even braved going up in the rain and though we had a few tire spins, we made it just fine and none of our vehicles were SUV's or had any type of 4-wheel drive. If you're a military family, Ripley's gives really deep discounts, so make sure you don't pass that opportunity up.

Many thanks to Keith and Sheila Bailey for allowing us to rent their beautiful cabin for our grandparents weekend for our daughter. It is nicely tucked away though simple to find, very cozy and we loved the view.

The place was decorated beautifully. The beds were very comfortable, the view was breathtaking. the hot tub was so relaxing. Everything was set up so perfect. The hot tub and jacuzzi were great as was the nice quiet atmosphere. Its a great get away from all the crowds and hustle and bustle of the tourist attractions but yet it is not that far away. It has a great mountain view and at night you can see the lights of Gatlinburg from afar. If I come back to this area I will for sure come back to "Beary Blessed Cabin" it does'nt get any better.

We had a beautiful time at this cabin! We came up with our 8 children and had a wonderful experience. There was plenty of room for all of us and we loved how we felt right at home. We had all of the comforts of home, yet in a rustic setting in the mountains. The location is very convenient to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, although I wouldn't want to drive up that mountain after dark! We are "Beary Blessed" to have stayed there!

Owners response: For any mountain view, we all have to make that drive up the mountain to get to that breathtaking point of seeing the tops of the mountains. It is well worth it to those of us who love a mountain view though!

We have stayed in several cabins over the past 10 years and Berry Blessed was a great experience for us too. The visit from the bear was awesome. (looking throught the window from the inside of the cabin of course!) The christian atmosphere was a bonus for us too. Our parents traveles with us. This was their first visit to the area. They loves being in the cabin and sitting on the porch soaking up the peace and beauty of the mountains. Thank you for sharing your cabin!

Owners response: Being in the Great Smoky Mountains offers the chance occasionally to see the beauty of a bear as they enjoy their natural habitat. Please remember wherever you are that if you see a bear use caution you are in their habitat, they are not in yours.

We absolutely loved the Beary Blessed cabin. We were on vacation with our 1 year old daughter and this cabin was very family and small child friendly. The cabin decor is very inviting and you feel like you are at home and not a cold hotel room. All of the features and amenities were a definite plus and for the money you can't go wrong here. We would not hesitate to recommend this cabin to friends and family, nor would we hesitate to come back. The area was beautiful and the views were great. Watching the sunrise and sunset were amazing from the screened porch and the covered porch off of the upstairs bedroom. We loved the rocking chairs and all of the Bear decorations. The location, between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge was very convenient. We did a lot of driving a round and this cabin was centrally located for all that we did.

And since we were going to the mountains it only made since to "stay in the Mountains! (I can't take credit for that one) There is no doubt that the cabin is up in the mountains..wow! What a view! The vacation rental was just as described on the web-site. It was a wonderful getawat for the "fam". The next time we visit the Gatlinburg area we will definetly try to stay at the Beary Blessed cabin.

They also enjoyed the hiking, rafting, swimming, ice skating etc. I would have been happy to just relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. I love the decor of the cabin (can't wait to print the picture of the 3 year old sitting next to the "Beary Blessed" sign with the bear on the front porch! We can't thank you enough. We truly feel blessed. Our 10 year old enjoyed the Bibles sitting around (didn't pack hers) and memorized some more verse. We can't wait to return. Marc and I are hoping to get away by ourselves again next Feb. Thanks again,
Carol

One of the things we liked the most were the views from the hot tub and the cleanliness. One of the things that sold us on staying at the Beary Blessed was the reasonable prices. We hope to be back again one day to enjoy this well kept cabin.

From the keyless entry, to the timer on the fireplace,we felt that this cabin had been smartly furnished with much thought put into it. It is a beautiful all wood interior cabin that is very cozy. The price, location, number of bedrooms were all a plus, but the price definitely sold us. We really enjoyed our vacation here at the cabin and thank you.

The cabin was nicer than we expected. It was clean and well decorated. It was comfortable and had a warm atmosphere. We loved the gas logs, hot tub, jacuzzi and porches. What sold us on staying at the Beary Blessed was it was available for the holiday, but next time it will be because we were impressed. We will recommend it to others. Thanks for your accommodations and interest in our comfort.

A very rustic cabin with nice bedrooms. The cabin was very peaceful and soothing for the soul. The September special and the location of cabin were the selling points for us.

It is such a peaceful atmosphere, with all the features needed to accommodate pretty much anyone's needs. Comfortable and secluded enough to just sit and relax, surrounded by magnificent nature, while still being clsoe enough to the mountains, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg to be able to take advantage of all that they have to offer. Everything was great and the hot tub was wonderful, especially after hiking around the mountains all day and there was nothing any better than soaking our muscle aches in the hot tub. We loved the washer and dryer also. This cabin comfortably accommodates a family of six and gives you privacy and the comforts of expanded living. We had a wonderful time!
