My family and I stayed at the villa in August 2009. The Villa was spacious and clean. Don Aurelio greeted us when we arrived. He made sure that we were comfortable during our stay by calling and making sure we had everything we needed.
The location of the villa was wonderful. We had three beaches in the area, restaurants and supermarkets. It was right of the highway which made it convenient when we travelled the island. The pool was clean and well maintained. We would definitely recommend it to our family and in fact we'll definitely stay here again.
Thank you Don Aurelio!

Hats off to this vacation. This was the way to go. Gated community, very quite villa, and so relaxing. If your traveling with 4 or more in your vacation party, definitely lease here. The accommodations were spacious and we did not need any beach accessories as they were all provided... Towels, chairs, coolers, boogie boards, etc... Conveniently located not only to a private beach but, restaurants, supermarkets, etc. were all a few minutes away. Not on purpose but we accidentally put the home security system to the test one night and the police were at our door within 5 minutes so we were at ease and felt safe.
The Wi-Fi was an added bonus as it allowed our children to do their homework online at night during our stay.
The only complaint I would have is that 7 days were not enough. Definite 2 week vacation next time.
Thank you so much Don Pepe for extending your home to us and the Sangria was yummy.
We will see you again...

Arelio is a great host. The condo is well equipped in a quiet, secure development. Mornings sitting in the backyard, under the palm trees, drinking coffee are most memorable. It has Sony Bravia TV's, a comfy couch and new barbeque grill. The main level had new windows and sliding doors. Beach access is a 5 minute walk. We walked several times to Luquillo Beach and spent an afternoon. Luquillo Beach is a 5 minute drive away and is a great beach with a little bar and grill and gift shops. Good excersize. There is a strip of vendors and restaurants that is fun to check out along the highway. Old Town San Juan is an hour or so away and is fun to visit. We also took a day trip to Ponce which was enjoyable. Book early for snorkeling trips. We did a night kayak trip into a luminesent bay that was really fun. All in all, we had a great time and recommend this location.

Review submitted: November 30, 2012 Date of arrival: November 26, 2012
The house is adorable and the location couldn't be better. Thank for all yours kindness and helping us find the best places to eat, the menu, roads and so on. Can't wait to come again. We went to Guavate and had roast pork Los Pinos. Went to the Kioskos several times, num 54 like someone said and to La Parrilla, be sure to eat their fresh snapper. Went to the Bio Lagoon in Las Croabas in Captain Charlie electric boat, Great, Really beautiful and spooky and you don't have to spend the night on Vieques. Went to Bacardi Factory--a must- see if a little disappointing. We seemed to have eaten our way through the Island. Loved it !

Dear Don Pepe
We had wonderful time. The location is great and the house had all the comfort of home. We loved the location. It is easy on and off the expressway. It was very easy to access different parts of the Island. We especially enjoyed the quick access to the beach and all the amenities you available. Thank you for suggesting Los Pinos in Guavate. The food was delicious. And thank you also for the suggestion of using Highway 66 which made getting to places much easier and with less traffic. Thanks Noreen, David, Linda, George.

We had an amazing time here. This house has EVERYTHING! Appreciate the beach supplies and fully stocked kitchen. Recommendations:
1. Go to Vieques on Ferry. $4.00 round trip. Get tickets early. Loved Red Beach!
2. Brass Cactus - Jummy Fajitas.
3. Near Luquillo Beach. Go to Kiosko 54. Great local food. (Chicken Stew and rice).
4. Get a "loaded" Piña Colada from the little green truck across from Kiosko 54.
5. Dive in waterfall @ El Yunque on Big Tree Trail.
6. Rent Kayak from Gringos. $5.00 @ Luquillo Beach.

This house was abosulutely beautiful and the area was just as beautiful. We fell in love with this house soon as we walked in. We were immediately fascinated with the island feel of the house, the outside patio, modern appliances and then of course, the owner himself, Senor Aurelio :) The owner was extremely helpful in every way possible and available at any hour that we needed him. He frequently checks on you and makes sure you are completely satisfied. The house is much prettier than the pictures itself and I do highly recommend this house if you're looking for a quiet comfy get away. Its very close to beautiful beaches, all types of activites, food and shopping. In all, this is a better stay than the resorts, especially if you're like myself and like to be secluded away from tourist and crowds. Nice and peaceful stay with romance. THANKS AGAIN AURELIO, and we hope to see you again next year :()

Wedding-Wonderful Location Luquillo Beach Solimar.
Review submitted: May 29, 2012 Date of arrival: May 17, 2012
This is a wonderful location, The House is great! Did not need anything, only my own food. I will definitely comeback. I had a wonderful time, It was 25 years since I came to the Island , and wow not disappointed at all, From this location you can go to El Yunque Rain Forest, took a trip to Ponce City in the south part of the Island and also to Guavate in Cayey City off expressway 52 to Ponce The Food was great Puerto Rican pork A La Varita. You can see the countryside ,Isla Verde is the place to go for night life dancing Salsa at the El San Juan Hotel. The ladies MMM nice! Thank you Mr Cabrera for everything . This place is great! I recommended this place to all family and friends at the wedding at the El Conquistador Hotel to come and have a great place to stay for a wonderful vacation! 5/17 to 5/29 2012

Surprised with The Place.
Review submitted: May 29, 2012 Date of arrival: May 17, 2012
I must admit I was very surprised when I saw the place and its amenities. For a Tropical Island it gets very expensive when living out of a suitcase in a Hotel. This whole house is a treat. If I could change anything it would be less partying and dancing until four in the morning and getting up earlier in morning to enjoy the Sun . Usually it rained in the San Juan/Isla Verde area and in the afternoon up past the Rain Forest. Highly recommend Rain Forest,Old San Juan and of course Luquillo Beach. If you get a chance Culebra Island is another world- Flamenco Beach . Anyway I will try and comeback during peak season,a little more pricey but better Weather. I can go on and on ,But judge for yourself. Have fun . God Bless .

The proprietor and his home are an amazing!
We came into SJU about 11 p.m. and the proprietor was waiting for us at the car rental place to escort us to Luquillo (about 30-35 minutes drive). It was very nice not to have to stress about finding it in the dark - a nice, early, and much appreciated touch.
The house is great! You must try the outdoor wok and use the flashlights in the kitchen to hunt down the nightime coqui! Be ware - there is a HUGE frog that lurks in the front yard that just stares at you. He is real...even if he doesn't move too much :)
The location is also nice - a short drive to El Yunque, 40 minutes to Humacao, and only a 3 minute walk to the beach. Being in the gated community was also nice. It is seemingly hard to find good eats but follow the proprietor's advice and you will have NO troubles. He was very responsive to text and phone calls for help and advice.
Bonus: Surprise sweet treat! To die for!!!
Agree with another commenter/poster - only thing we would have changed... more time. Hope to bring back the kids on a future visit.
This place is GREAT!
Thank you so much for a wonderful and relaxing vacation!

This is Our second trip to Puerto Rico . It was sadly gray and rainy the first days. Sunny from April 01 in Luquillo Beach . We hope to take a Boat tour/visit The Rainforest El Yunque. We wanted to be near the best beaches. We found this place easily affordable and close to the Ocean. Our only suggestion for this place would be a hook or a box near the front door for the keys that we used during our stay.PR is a nice place.Much warmer than Buffalo New York . Our stay in Luquillo was all that and more, Thanks to you Mr Cabrera ! The House is wonderful and has everything you need including location ,amenities . Suggestions for future guests . 1. Go to El Yunque Rainforest and hike the trails, take your time to spot the small wonders. Mt Britton trail is well worth the uphill climb . 2. Eat at the Kioscos. A bit too extreme for young kids on the weekends but a great treat otherwise. 3. Go to the biobay! Pure adventure. out of Fajardo was awesome and recommended by the locals. Not something you can take pictures of and you will come back wet. 4.Try the outdoor. Its fun and is super hot ! 5. open the windows @ night to enjoy the sounds of rain. 6. walk / run the beach. Put your feet in the sand 7 watch the crabs dig out 2 sunset. 7. eat 2 the Brass Cactus. The Churrasco 7 chios is the yum! Thank again for everything. Left behind some groceries 7 hope the next guests find it useful. Your danish pastries Quesitos was a welcome surprise ! Comfortable and nicely set up condo unit within the gated community of Solimar, right next to route3 in Luquillo. It has a nice back-yard with two bar-b-q grills great for outdoor dinners. Don Pepe (Aurelio) was very welcoming and gave as useful advice. Although there is a beach at the back of the complex, it is rather dirty, the bottom is rocky and the surf is rough, so we recommend going to the public Luquillo beach which is well maintained and calm. You can walk there (4-5 blocks) but if you bring chairs etc, it is better to drive and park for $4.28/day. We did not go to the beach kiosks because we had heard that the beach behind them was quite dirty. Luquillo is a small town but has several good restaurants, Pasta y Pueblo is one of the best. It is an easy drive to Fajardo and the Culebra/Vieques ferry (you need to be there before 6:30 if you want to get on the 9:00 AM ferry). Touring Puerto Rico is fun although traffic near San Juan can be quite heavy. We drove to Palmas del Mar resort and to the west and southwest coast that has some pretty areas such as Rincon and Boqueron.

Owners response: Hola Martin Thank You for your review , Im glad you liked our Mi Casa es tu Casa . I that you wished and your wife that wanted to stay another week . Im glad you used the chairs and your daughter her husband and Beautiful little boy had a great time . Yes at this time of the year Oceans are Oceans they can get pretty rough rather quickly . Most of the time when we get a Cold front from the North the wind will make it a little rough . The Live rock area that you mentioned is a wonderful spot for inexperienced snorklers . Since it is rather shallow but when we have a cold front it will raise to about four to five feet when it is calm about two to three feet . It has a lot of beautiful fish . From yellow Tangs to Blue Tangs and French Angels and all kind of Tropical Damsels. I kind of know what Im speaking about since I had three large Aquariums and I usually like to catch some Octopus for a nice salad . During the Summer is very calm and great for small children since there are Natural Pools all along the Beach . Thata is why the Local fishermen Tie up the boats is this area . It connects to the other side of Luquillo Beach the most beautiful in the Caribbean rivaled only to maybe Varadero Beach in Cuba which is off limits . Thank You and hope to see u soon. Boqueron is far away and Rincon and they dont have a Luquillo Beach. Also when you say the beach being dirty it is a Public beach and free of charge . We have the Dept of Natural Resources that cleans the Beach area once a week from the Palms tree and the Seaweed that it is constantly being washed on shore this is not dirty it is the Oceans way to get rid of the excess nutrients being dumped on the Oceans. The Municipality of Luquillo has assigned a cleaning worker to pick up trash that is blown all over from local visitors as well of our guests . Hope this help to answer some of the questions. From a five Star accommodation .

"Wonderful holiday in a villa in Luquillo"
This was our first experience of renting a home. We were apprehensive but Mr. Cabrera was so nice and reassuring that we decided to stay three weeks. It allowed us to get in touch with people from Canada who had recently rented his house. Upon arrival, Mr. Cabrera was very welcoming and even took time to tour the area to show us where was located the beaches, restaurants and shops. He has clearly explained his house in every detail. The complex is fenced and guarded 24 hours. In addition, his house has an alarm system. His house full of appliances and equipment of any kind, 3 HD TV, WIFI, and a beautifully landscaped backyard with plants of all kinds and sets of patio more comfortable. There is a kitchen with wok hob and BBQ gas and charcoal. We spent a good time. In our opinion, the area of Luquillo is truly one of the best of Puerto Rico. We made some trips by car to the east and south of the island near Ponce. We also walked to the center north of the island is located where the Bacardi rum factory. We did not find beaches as beautiful as those of Luquillo. Our holidays have been easy and the temperature was beautiful in a very welcoming home. Mr. Cabrera thank you for your hospitality and your good pastries. Helen and Jean-Yves de Montreal, Canada

Review from Family of Chicago, IL (Thanksgiving November 2011) “This was our first visit to Puerto Rico and we definitely picked a great location and rental property. Mr. Cabrera meets us late in the evening the day we arrived and took the time to give us a tour of the house and the neighborhood. He even led us to the grocery store so that we would have breakfast the next day. The second day of our stay we realized that the coffee maker wasn’t working properly, and the very next day we arrived home after a full day of snorkeling to a new coffee maker and a box of delicious local pastries. Mr. Cabrera went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation. The neighborhood is very safe, the pool is clean and well-kept, and the beach is beautiful and very close by our two sons (6 and 8); have a wonderful time here, and all of us enjoyed relaxing on the back yard and patio after busy days of swimming, snorkeling, zip-lining and hiking in the rainforest. There is so much to do here that we will need to come back to complete our “must do” list. The weather was great during our visit the week of Thanksgiving and most places we went were not crooned with tourists A great place to mix with the locals in the Kioskos off of PR 3. La Parrilla was very good, and the stuffed burgers at El Jefe Burger were delicious. This was a truly memorable vacation, and a big part of that was having a place where we felt very much at home. Thank you Mr. Cabrera. We will be back!!!!! The McNulty Family

November 2011. This is the second time that we have rented from Mr. Cabrera and every experience we have had has been wonderful. We have taken our family from Hawaii; here and our family from New York, Virginia and Connecticut. From all the states everyone was very happy with their stay.
From the beginning Mr. Cabrera has always been very hospitable, he greets you upon arrival and makes you feel welcome.
We have found that our stay we did not need anything. Mr. Cabrera had all the amenities that you could possibly want from indoor activities, outside patio and many things that you could take to the beach, which is a stores throw away.
The house has always been very clean and we were thankful that everything is here, especially the kitchen area, where my husband loves to cook, and the grill both gas and charcoal whichever you prefer. As I said, all the amenities and much much more than you could ever need.
We also feel very safe and the gated community and have found the neighbors to be very friendly.
The pool area, playground and tennis area are phenomenal.
As we continue to come to Luquillo we will always rent from Mr. Cabrera We are very pleased. It is a great family spot for young children, young adults, teens and elders.
Thank you Mr. Cabrera for your hospitality and we feel welcome to your home. We will be back!!!!!

My family of five--two adults and three children--stayed at this lovely little spot for 7 relaxing days. Don Pepe is an excellent host. He showed us around the area on the night of our arrival, kept in touch via txt and generally was very accommodating. We enjoyed Playa Azul, the beach closest to us, La Pared, the surfing beach, ate local fare at the Kioskos nearby, visited El Yunque, Old San Juan, and on the last day before our departure, sailed to the outlying islands on a catamaran for snorkling from Fajardo, which is close by. Overall a fantastic summer vacation. I highly recommend a stay at Don Pepe's condo. Luquillo is a great starting point for all the fun things you can do around Puerto Rico. We'll definitely go back!!

Thank you Don Pepe for a great vacation with my family. We had a great stay. I recommend this rental for anyone! Don Pepe is very friendly and helpful in visiting local attractions. The apartment was very clean and most importantly safe! In a gated community and 24hours security and alarm system. It is also in a great location. It is near Fajardo to take the ferry to Culebra and Vieques Island. It is also close to San Juan. Luquillo Beach is also very beautiful. I do recommend renting a vehicle in Puerto Rico. And I thank Don Pepe for encouraging me to rent a vehicle. It is not a must if you want to relax and joy the beach. But we wanted to get to know Puerto Rico and visited different places such as Old San Juan, Vieques Island, Barcardi Tour, El Yunque (which is so close) and so are the kioskos where they sell affordable and delicious food. Thank you Don Pepe and see you soon! If you are hesitant in whether or not to rent this property, go ahead and book it! It is a great location and Don Pepe is an ethic and honest person.

This property was comfortable and met our needs nicely. We went down to PR for a family vacation- myself, my wife and our two children aged 9 and 12. Sr. Cabrera (owner) went the extra mile to make sure we were happy and kept in touch via text to make sure everything was going ok. If we had questions, he responded right away with guidance and reccomendations. There were a few small issues with the property- a small leak in the kitchen, a rear slider door that came off the track frequently and a pool and gym in the complex that could use some updating. These small issues were really nothing when compared to all the positives- a very safe, clean and secure vacation home, an accomadating and friendly owner, a full size gas grill and comfortable patio, beach gear including chairs, coolers, towels and boogie boards an a very good location near three nice beaches. If you are seeking pampered luxury, look elswhere. if you want a nice clean comfortable beach house, this is a great choice.

Owners response: Im glad I was able to provide you a safe and clean home and that you liked everything about the house the small leak will be fixed in a matter of hours It was repaired 8 months ago with the May rains a small crack resurfaced water is very tricky with our cement houses which is safer and stronger than wood that is a small problem once in a while.Your Children were very Happy when you asked me if I had Boogie boards .I gave your children a nice surprise and had the two brand new Boogie boards for them to use at the beach. Im glad they liked it and used it. I have ordered brand new security doors for the Patio and entrance plus security windows another $6,000.00 investment for everyone to enjoy and feel safe and comfortable. They should be installed in Sept. Your children were thrilled being here for the Summer .Gracias Don Pepe Hope to see you soon. I keep improving the house I have invested as you could see over $97,000.00 the last three years . My Patio your PATIO or MI Casa es tu Casa there is no other like it. Also my rates are the best . Location Tops .Puerto Rico Does it Better.

I vacation every year in Puerto Rico and I've stayed at most hotels in the San Juan area as well as the Rio Grande/Luquillo/Fajardo area and I must say that renting this villa was the best choice I ever made. First off, its in a gated community which is great and also walking distance to the beach. The owner is helpful, kind, and very accomodating. The house was clean and stocked with everything we needed and plenty of towels and beach toys. The back yard is great for unwinding after a long day under the tropical sun and also for grilling on the stainless steel Weber gas grill. El Yunque, Hacienda Carabali for horseback riding/atv's/go karts, outlet mall, golf course and of course beaches nearby. Close to Walgreens, Walmart, and many restaurants. There's also a great bakery nearby across the #3 highway. I will definately stay there again next year. When Don Pepe says, "Mi casa es su casa", he means it. Can't wait to visit again.

We had an absolutely wonderful time in this beautiful vacation home that feels like just that -- a home! We could not have been more comfortable during our stay. Our incomparable host, Don Pepe, was waiting at the home to meet us and made sure we were settled, oriented, and had everything we needed. He was also available at all hours to answer questions and could not have been more accommodating. The location was fabulous -- direct access to Luquillo Beach through the housing complex. Luquillo beach itself was pristine, gorgeous, and not over populated with locals or tourists. The location was also only a few minuets drive from the El Yunque rainforest where there are breathtaking views, wonderful hiking, and many more fun activities. We also took advantage of the proximity to both Old San Juan as well a Fajardo -- where there was a bioluminescent bay (better than any other we'd been to) and a ferry that took us to the charming island of Vieques.
Best of all, this home was a STEAL! A wonderful place to come back to after a day of adventure that had everything we could want. Some of our best times of the vacation were spent grilling and relaxing on the charming patio, or enjoying a movie on one of the flat screen TVs. It was so easy to have a car, with plenty of stores, restaurants, or anything else one could want. We look forward to our return and will definitely be revisiting Solimar during our next stay,
Ashley

My family and I stayed at the villa in last week May 2011. The Villa was spacious and very clean. Don Aurelio was kind enough to greet us when we arrived. He made sure that we were comfortable during our stay.
The location of the villa was wonderful. The beach was close by you could either take the five minute walk or the 2 min drive to the beach. There were plenty of restaurants in the area.
We found a fantastic family owned restaurant in town called, "El Rincon Del Sabor". The food was excellent and the service was superb. We also tried "King Seafood" and we were not impressed at all. Over priced and the food was okay. You mainly have to drive to all of them but they were some that were very close. There was a supermarket and a Walgreens also close by.
The property was right of the highway which made it convenient when we were exploring the island. We would definitely recommend it to our family & friends. We'll definitely stay here again.
Thank you for your kind hospitality Don Aurelio!

The location in Luquillo was excellent. Within walking distance of Luquillo Beach. A short Drive to El Yunque and a 20 minute drive to Fajardo and and the ferries to Culebra and Vieques. Don Pepe was a very accomodating and gracious host, he provided us with lots of information of things to do in Puerto Rico, he met us upon our arrival so that we could follow him to the villa and he made certain we had everything we needed. The villa was very nice. It was clean and had plenty of room for a family of 5. There were plenty of towels, linens, Beach chairs and toys and both a gas grill and a charcoal grill. The villa was also convenient to a grocery store and Walgreen's. We throughly enjoyed our stay at this property and would absolutely recommend it. Our family had a wonderful time in Puerto Rico and the landlord and this property in Luquillo were one of the main reasons we did. Thank you Don Pepe, my family loved our visit to beautiful Puerto Rico.

This property was perfect for our family. The beach is only minutes from the house with its own path to get to it, the community pool was open long hours, tennis court and volleyball net were a plus for our family. Aurelio was great, he explained everything to us and was very accommodating. If I had a question, he always answered our calls even before arriving to the property.
My family came over with no issues. The security booth called us if we had any visitors, which made us feel very safe and secure. The property was big enough for us and pretty clean. They have plenty of linens, towels, beach towels, lounge chairs, 2 grills (charcoal and gas). We had a so much fun. Is only 5 minutes from the Rainforest, El Yunque, and many other areas. Shopping is also minutes away, and a great outlet mall 15 minutes away.
We will definitely stay there again on our next trip to Puerto Rico.

I rented Aurelio's condo for one month. I was there the full time--other family members came for a week at a time. Everyone enjoyed the accommodations and the easy location to many sights. Aurelio is a kind and honest man, and you can rest assured that your reservation at his condo is secure. It is very safe, located in a gated community. For those new to Puerto Rico, be prepared for a lot of litter on the beaches and everywhere. I carried a plastic bag every time I went to the beaches to pick up garbage. And the stray animals will break your heart. My family befriended a female, tabby cat who hangs out at Aurelio's. PLEASE watch for her and feed her--we called her Lucinda. I even took her to the local veterinarian to have her spayed so she can have a chance. The only reason I didn't rate the condo as Excellent is because it is next to a busy highway. I chose not to use the A/C as the weather was perfect, and had a lot of road noise during the night. But everything else is as he says it is--lots of room, fully furnished, etc. Enjoy your visit at Luquillo! We are already talking of returning next year!

Owners response: Hi Janet Im glad all of you had a great time and a great value. All your family came to be with you and the beautiful Sun tan you left with . It was my pleasure to help you get your car the following day at Dollar car rental since they ran out of cars when you came in at 1100pm I was there for you to take you and family to the house. And calling Dollar to pick you up the following day and again helping you get your car and taking your younger daughter to the Airport at 500am . I still believe that Solimar Luquillo Beach is better than a Five star hotel for the Value and facilities ,Location. There is no better place on Earth. We are plain Paradise . Yes garbage and strays are a problem all over the world. We are working with the local authorities to keep it under control. And on the beach since we have the trade winds the garbage gets blown all over the place and there is a lot of careless people yes Im with you on that one. Come Back soon. Your Amigo Pepe.

I took my AP Biology trip to Puerto Rico to explore the rich ecology that is on the island. Also to visit my family who lives on the Island. My students really enjoyed their trip and learned so much. But the best part was the condo. The students were so happy with the condo and the location was perfect for all of the best activities of the Island. And while we were not snorkeling, horseback riding, kayaking, or hiking through the rainforest, the student enjoyed their time at the beach that was just few steps away. I would recommend this condo to anyone who is interested in the best part of the the Island. It is literally minutes from the rainforest, beach, lighthouse. and the best snorkeling. Also we found a Panaderia with the Rueben best sandwich.

We spent one week in Luquillo at Aurelio's place.
We had a very good time, Our host made everything so easy for us.
The house is very well equiped, very clean and well situated, close to the beach, a few minutes away from a shopping center.
We spent great time outside having cocktails around the BBQ.
Aurelio picked us up at Fajardo, dropped us at the airport, and had one concern : making his guests happy!
We would strongly recommend the house!
Cheers
Owners response: Hola Charles it was my pleasure to pick you up and your friends from Paris,France. Im glad you made it at the last second. When you came in from Vieques you mentioned your rental over there was not up to any standard and it was far to get groceries and no transportation. Im glad you did not have the same problem at Luquillo . Hope to see you all soon Gracias and take care. Our weather has been sunny and a cool 70 to 75 at night and Sunny and hardly any rain . Thank you so much for letting us rent your home this past week. We had a great time in Puerto Rico and your wonderful home and hospitality had a lot to do with it. The house and all of its facilities were terrific - you had everything we needed and were wonderfully helpful in making sure that we well-cared for. We appreciated the attention. Your yard was also excellent, and we enjoyed it for a few meals. I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to see you, before we left, but we were eager to see more of your lovely island before our flight back home. Thanks again for everything, and enjoy the rest of your summer!

Don Aurelio took us on a tour of the property, which was in good condition. He provided us with endless information on the local area and what cities to visit (which was very helpful).
Don Aurelio provides us with free wifi, satellite tv, flat panel tvs with DVD, air condition in all the rooms and a fully stocked kitchen and washer and dryer!
The house was very clean, spacious, comfortable and very affordable. The furnished backyard and patio area was great when we cooked outside. Not to mention the musical songs of the Coqui.
The house was just 10 minutes from the El Yunque Rain Forest, 45 min to San Juan. The Walgreen's, gas station, and grocery store less than a mile away were very convenient.
All and all this was a great home away from home. We would recommend it to anyone. When we revisit Puerto Rico we know what home to go to.

Holiday in Puerto Rico

Review submitted: June 13, 2010
Date of arrival: May 1, 2010
We (2 adults and a boy aged 6) have enjoyed our holiday in Puerto Rico. We've rented via VBRO at both sides of the island: Luquillo and Cabo Rojo. The highlights of the first week (Luquillo): old San Juan, swimming in the waterfall at the end of route 191 (Naguabo side of rain forest) as well as from the Luquillo side and the sea in Luquillo (walking distance). We also had the communal pool all to ourselves during the week (unfortunately it was closed on Sunday). I would rate the accommodation as average (it was clean but a bit untidy, it has a nice garden but close to a busy road), however with the friendly help we've received from Mr Cabrera (he has guided us from the car rental agency in San Juan to the house at 23h00 !) I've rated the experience as good.
Recommended for: families with young children, families with teenagers, sight seeing, tourists without a car
Owners response: Thank Mr Schalker yes we are close to Highway #3 very convenient to go places .Like to the Guavate area for the Puerto Rican BBQ Pork , to the Camuy Caves and Arecibo Observatory. And of course we have the perfect spot for ecoturism The Rain Forest only 12 to 15 min away Old San Juan . The Island of Vieques and Culebra and Palomino and Palominito next time you have to stay longer and the house sometimes it gets to be a little bit untidy due to the fact of my Wonderful rates and that my Guests they keep coming at a rate of one right after the other ones. And also meeting you at 1200am it is my pleasure anything to help my guests see you soon . Say Hi to your son he did enjoy his vacation I could see his face very very Happy Boy. Don Pepe Gracias.

I was very nervous at first to rent a home from an individual I didn't know--especially chancing that we could arrive far away from home and find we didn't have a place to stay or that the place was not what it was advertised to be. It is good to know that Home Away offers a protection guarantee that is inexpensive to purchase for worry-warts like me. But with this home---you won't need that!! The house itself is great (clean, comfortable, and anti allergy) with EVERY amenity you might need (including outdoor grills, chairs, coolers, tons of beach towels as well as a washer/dryer, several TV/VCR/DVD players, and yes, ladies, there is a lighted make-up mirror---as well as a dining table big enough for 6 people to eat or play games at easily). If you need something there is a grocery store just 2-3 minutes away and a Wal-Mart within 10 minutes. The house has a security system and a safe. The area also feels very safe and secure---it is in a gated community with a pool and tennis court. There is a one time $25 fee (good for the length of your stay) by the homeowners association for you to have a car there. The gated entrance to the beach is at the back of the community (about 2-3 minutes from the house---we usually took the car so we could put all our stuff in it---you will get a gate key). It is very conveniently situated near the rainforest (El Yunque--hiking, swimming in La Mina Falls, horseback riding & El Yunque Zipline), next door to the Kioskos (a group of open air store front restaurants--make sure to have a hamburger at El Jefe--closed on Mondays unless there is special event), within 15 minutes of the ferrys/airport to go to Vieques & Culebra,15-20 minutes away from the best biobay (in Fajardo), not to mention right next to the amazing Luquillo Beach. You WILL need a car, but the house is not difficult to find and has easy access to the highway. The rent is very resonable and it was nice to be able save a bit of $ and calories by having our own food and be able to choose to spend a bit more when we did go out to eat.The best part is the owner himself. He goes by "Pepe." If something isn't right, Pepe WILL make it right. Even before we arrived he quickly responded to any of our questions and concerns by both email and by phone. He is honest and takes the BEST care of his renters. When he says Mi casa es Su casa---you can take him at his word. I wouldn't hesitate to rent from Pepe again. I just know that as the word gets out---every week will be booked!
Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing
Owners response: Gracias Muchas Gracias MP and JP and family Im glad you had a wonderful time Gracias for the pictures . I will use them see you pronto. Hasta la Vista in 2011 . When it gets about right you have Your Casa in Luquillo . Gracias Pepe .

In January 2010, my husband, my in-laws and I visited Puerto Rico to visit my family and tour the west coast of the island. Our trip was semi-spontaneous and we had not booked accommodations for the 2nd half of our trip, so we were delighted when we discovered Don Aurelio's beautiful place in Luquillo Beach was available due to a last minute cancellation.
Don Aurelio is the perfect host and very accommodating. He met us at the beginning of our trip in San Juan so that we would not have to detour from our trip westward. When we arrived to pickup the keys and tour the property, he suprised us with delicious mondongo (a Puerto Rican traditional food) which my husband had never had before but thoroughly enjoyed! He gave us a tour of the facilities and endless information on the local area (which even for a native like myself was incredibly helpful!).
After 4 days in the west coast full of sun and sand, but no air conditioning or hot showers, we were thrilled to arrive at Don Aurelio's air conditioned townhouse and take a hot shower. Typically we plan a few nights at the Wyndham for these luxuries, but this was a much more pleasant and cost effective alternative - not to mention the fact that Don Aurelio provides free wifi, satellite tv, flat panel tvs with DVD in all of the guest rooms a full kitchen and washer and dryer! Wyndham look out!!
The entire place was clean, spacious, comfortable and just right for the four of us. The furnished backyard and patio area was the best location for my daily cup of coffee in solitude before the family woke up.
The proximity to Luquillo Beach (no fighting for parking!) and the access to the pool were ideal. It was also just 10 minutes from my family's home, 15 minutes from our friends in Loiza, and 10 minutes from the El Yunque Rain Forest! The Walgreen's, gas station, and grocery store less than a mile away were incredibly convenient.
For the past seven years, my husband and I try to visit the island at least once a year. We believe that we have found the perfect location for our future visits! We would strongly recommend Don Aurelio and this location for any travelers that are looking for the comforts of home in paradise!

Nice place in a quiet neighborhood. The unit was clean, and included everything that we needed for a nice stay. There was a fenced in back yard with some grass, which was good for 1.5 yr old.
Close to rainforest as well as Fajardo (sp?) for more water activities.
Walking distance to Luquillo beach, which was real nice.
Walking distance to the beach on the other side of the point, which was a little wavy when we were there.
Walking distance to the Brass Cactus which had some amazingly good food, even though it was a touch expensive.
The pool was closed one day for cleaning, and for an unknown reason on another day, but was nice when open.

A comfortable place to stay
Review submitted: February 7, 2010 Date of arrival: March 8, 2009
Three of my friends plus me stayed here for spring break this year (2009). The complex had all of the amenities we could ask for. There are tennis courts, basketball courts and a swimming pool.
The two bedrooms accomodated the four of us just fine, and the kitchen was very useful in preparing meals. Aurelio keeps the place very clean!
Also, the location is close to plenty of attractions. We drove to the rainforest and it only took about 10 minutes. The surf at La Pared was consistent during our trip, and we were able to walk to Luquillo beach where we caught a few fish.
This villa was the best deal I found before arriving in Luquillo and after spending 5 days there, I think it is still the best deal.

My family went to Luquillo in March 2009. We have four children: 6yrs, 5, 18 months and 4 months. The beach next to the Balneario was perfect for them. The development also has private access to another part of the beach where the water is not as calm. The house was well maintained and clean. My kids can't wait to get back and we would certainly stay there again.
Thanks Aurelio

This is a very beautiful house that sit within a quiet community. There is a on site pool and tennis court. You are walking to Walgreen's, the bank and local food. I stood here in April 2009 with my 17 month old son, husband and mother. Let just say we were all comfortable. The price was well within our budget.

After a layover in my hometown, I went to retrieve my key for the rental and was pleasantly surprise with the condition and facilities of access. My husband loved the outdoor grill and patio and the central air on all the house. Mr. Aurelio had an efficient person to welcome you. You only need your luggage and your food(you can shop nearby) and you are all set. I will definetly recommend this villa "Solimar" to anyone whos looking for a home away from home. All the turistic places near and far and the most important thing was that the place was excedingly safe and very clean. If you need to rent for the summer or winter; this is the place to go. Don Aurelio; many THANKS for an experience we will likely to repeat. Thanks again; Lourdes and Luis

A dream Villa, a perfect location. The air was clean and everything felt fresh. The house is spacious and clean, very comfortable and well kept. The matresses and air conditioning, kitchen and bathroom all brand new, and remodeled, also the patio is a beauty with a large brick BBQ, a gas grill and Spanish and Italian tiles. Everything you need is right there. It was exactly what we were looking for access to the beach and the ocean . The owners of the property are accomodating, attentive, reliable, and kind making sure our vacation went perfectly and supplying everything needed to make our stay feel comfortable and easy, what a vacation should be! The beach is only about 5 minutes walking from the villa, and enjoyed the famous Balneario Luquillo beach. Nearby are Mexican and Seafood Restaurants. Various shopping centers and supermarkets are just 5 minutes. A great place for just couples or the whole family. The price was within our budget.

A comfortable villa and the owner will do everything possible to make sure you are comfortable. He even escorted us from the airport at 11:30 PM. A work colleague and I used this for five days as a base to work out of while doing work in the rain-forest. It was clean and had everything we needed including Wi Fi.

We spent Thanksgiving week here and it was very nice. The owner (Pepe) met us even though we arrived late at night to show us the place. It is well furnished with a fancy refrigerator...excellent air conditioning. A very nice back yard/patio with palm trees and local iguana. A nearly empty beach is a five minute walk within this gated community and there are literally miles and miles of empty beach to walk on. Swimming is very safe in the sandy beach parts but stay away from the reefs that have spiny sea urchins. An easy two minute drive to a modern food market and Walgreens. Close to the rain forest and about 40-50 minutes to Old San Juan.

This is a very beautiful house that sit within a quiet community. There is a on site pool and tennis court. You are walking to Walgreen's, the bank and local food. I stood here in April 2009 with my 17 month old son, husband and mother. Let just say we were all comfortable. The price was well within our budget.

my family went to luquillo in March 2009. We have four children: 6yrs, 5, 18 months and 4 months. The beach next to the balneario was perfect for them. The development also has private access to another part of the beach where the water is not as calm. The house was well maintained and clean. My kids cant wait to get back and we would certainly stay there again.
Thanks Aurelio

Three of my friends plus me stayed here for spring break this year (2009). The complex had all of the amenities we could ask for. There are tennis courts, basketball courts and a swimming pool.
The two bedrooms accomodated the four of us just fine, and the kitchen was very useful in preparing meals. Aurelio keeps the place very clean!
Also, the location is close to plenty of attractions. We drove to the rainforest and it only took about 10 minutes. The surf at La Pared was consistent during our trip, and we were able to walk to Luquillo beach where we caught a few fish.
This villa was the best deal I found before arriving in Luquillo and after spending 5 days there, I think it is still the best deal.

nice place in a quite neighborhood. The unit was clean, and included everything that we needed for a nice stay. There was a fenced in back yard with some grass, which was good for 1.5 yr old.
Close to rainforest as well as Fajardo (sp?) for more water activities.
Walking distance to Luquillo beach, which was real nice.
Walking distance to the beach on the other side of the point, which was a little wavey when we were there.
Walking distance to the Brass Catus which had some amazingly good food, even though it was a touch expensive.
The pool was closed one day for cleaning, and for an unknown reason on another day, but was nice when open.
