Exactly what we were looking for and more! We loved it. We had a wonderful Valentines weekend here and our dog Dexter loved it as well. The cabin is in a small community of a small city up in the mountains, and yes it is located in real mountains, not hills. It takes about 10 minutes to get to the nearest supermarket which was perfect for our get away from city life. Easy to find, lots of privacy and Chrissy's hospitality was above and beyond. We felt more like house guests (with or own place) than customers. The way she decorated was adorable and made us feel cozy in bear country. Everything we needed or wanted was there. Fire wood, board games, kitchen appliances, comfy beds, extra blankets, washer dryer, etc. Thanks Chrissy! Let us know when you're in Fort Laud, you can be our house guest anytime!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Cedar Duplex in Glenville, NC. We were on a budget, but wanted to rent a cabin for two nights. This was the best deal we found and was not disappointed. Very clean and homey. When we arrived the Cabin was warm and cozy. Even though it is off season we found lots to do in Cashiers/ Highlands. We enjoyed soaking in the hot tub each night which was the perfect tempature and very clean. Even though this was a duplex we felt like we had lots of privacy. Christine, Jim, and Buddy(dog) were very sweet and accomodating. Christine's complimentary breakfast was awesome. Better than any pancake house for sure. Thanks for making our weekend away so enjoyable. We will definently be back soon. :)

Owners response:
With The Cedar Duplex entry on the main level where spaciousness and 'easy access'
as well as your own personal hot spa .... well, its no wonder this rental beckons a
return stay for so many!
Yes, indeed its a favorite where 'privacy and cleanliness' is 2nd only to our TLC
to YOU as our #1 Priority!
We are always so very thankful for folks as Chris and Tasha !
We value such superb guests and warmly welcome you back :)
Thank you from Christine & Jim !

The cabin was just perfect. We never expected all the stuff everywere, that made it look and feel like a home. From an incredably comfortable bed, to all the antiques and stuff on the walls, and the small details like games and all the little personal touches. It just felt so warm as soon as we walked in.(and not just because our lovely landlords turned on the heat, gas fireplace, and electric blanket) It just felt great to be there.
We live in Florida. It's getting to be a regular thing to go to the mountains every New Years with the family. All the cabins we have rented in the past were very plain, not much on the walls, nothing extra, almost like a hotel. What a pleasant change. Cashiers is a very nice place. We will definately be back.
Christine and Jim made us feel very welcome, like family (or better). Thanks.

Owners response:
With such fantastic guests as you, Ron and Marthica family, one can't help but view such like 'family'. The last minute 'dog situation' might have discouraged another from even leaving the Florida area on the trek this way to the mountains. But we are so glad you made it here and HAPPY that you enjoyed your stay.
We feel good knowing it's your desire to return to one of ours and more than happy to accommodate such pleasant folks as you. Thanks for the joy of getting to know you and the super good care you took while there at your Cedar Duplex.
You have a mountain home here with us anytime! Jim and Christine

We were worried because the price was so low, But we were really surprised when we walked thru the front door the owners thought of everything. We were greeted with a hug from the Cristine. The place had a living room, two fire places, Nice Kitchen, washer-dryer, Private bath and bedroom, and a nice private hot tub that holds 5. The only bad thing was we had to leave to go back to work.

A Wonderful Stay!
Review submitted: August 22, 2011 Date of arrival: August 19, 2011
Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay at the Prime's Cedar Duplex. It is set on a beautiful lot with a small stream and overlooks a christmas tree farm across the street. The kids loved walking down the stream and watching the fish. We all loved relaxing in the hot tub and eating the best ever french toast that Mrs. Prime made. The home is clean, nicely decorated and cozy. It is conveniently located to downtown cashiers and just 1-2mile from Lake Glenville. The Primes were very hospitabile and we are looking forward to a return trip. Guests, J & M R.

My husband and I spent the 4th of July in the enchanting Cricket's Den. Although we had seen pictures on the internet, we were still surprised to see the spacious, well-stocked accommodations. The decor is fascinating and fun! So thoughtful to have little touches like microwave popcorn for a late-night snack and a dryer sheet in case we did laundry. Most important to me, this place was CLEAN. With the growing reports of bedbugs, I can hardly stay in a hotel anymore. No worries of that at this place! The rate was competitive with every other accommodation we checked and Christine and her husband could not have been more gracious, inviting, and friendly. Our only regret? We did not have time to try out the hot tub!
