Back again and booked for next year's wedding!

Review submitted: March 7, 2013   Date of arrival: March 3, 2013

Lisa,

The house was amazing. It was so lovely to be able to sit and enjoy some wine and just be there for a while - honestly, I already didn't want to leave. The pictures can't even capture all the beauty. You made so many just absolutely perfect choices. The ceiling in the great room is GORGEOUS. The kitchen is a dream kitchen. I love all the windows everywhere and the bathrooms galore! And the island/bar in the kitchen. UH THAT WOOD! The space for the wedding is enormous. I can't gush enough about the whole thing. I can't imagine what it looks like in the summer with the pool open and the greenery..I just want to thank you for opening up your house to us like that. Megan and I had such an amazing time just being there. To be drinking a glass of wine while sitting on the sofa, watching the movement of the water out the window --- breathtaking, honestly.

Business off site/event

DDR (NYC)
Review submitted: January 29, 2013   Date of arrival: January 18, 2013

We had an event with 25 people at Lisa's home on Bayview. Not only was the house as gorgeous and the views spectacular as stated, the venue was a perfect place for our business conference. Lisa provided concierge style services from food to office supplies that we needed. She also helped to arrange for people who could not sleep at the home places to stay. Bayview was used as our main "hub". Any requests we had were taken care of and provided in advance of our arrival. We are already planning our next event this spring where Lisa is facilitating a golf outing at her private country club. Practicing on her home putting green was a great treat! No doubt we will all be planning personal stays there this summer too. No reason to go to the Hamptons when you can stay at this unbelievable home and at a fraction of the price!!!

Another private event for a birthday!

Review submitted: January 28, 2013   Date of arrival: January 22, 2013

As a Private Chef, I have the opportunity to prep and cook in many different kitchen and I have to say that Lisa's Kitchen is by far the one that I enjoy the most. It is beautiful, spacious and comfortable and it has all the necessary kitchen tool, a great range, 3 ovens, 2 refrigerators, 2 dishwashers and elegant platters and dishes. Above all the view from the kitchen and dinning room is absolutely spectacular and a wonderful place to truly enjoy a delicious meal with friends and family. 5 STARS!!

Cheers, Pascal

Best Rental House Ever

Lisa G. (Brooklyn)
Review submitted: January 23, 2013   Date of arrival: January 18, 2013

Every year for 20 years now I have rented a house with the same group of friends for a long weekend. This is by far the best house we have ever rented. It has a fully and gorgeously stocked kitchen--I mean it has everything that you might think you want. We were 12 people (including children) and we didn't even touch 2 whole sets of dinnerware. It has 3 ovens and 2 dishwashers. It was glorious! The beds were super comfortable and luxurious. There were so many bathrooms! The kids loved the putting green and exploring the marsh and surrounding woods.
The views were amazing. The living room had adequate seating for 12 people to sit around and chat or play games. There was an office downstairs away from it all for one member of our group who was on a deadline to work undisturbed.
It was just perfect.

Lisa, Thank you for helping to make this the best family Christmas ever. The house was fantastic. We have so many fond memories at your home, cooking, hanging out by the fireplace, going on hikes, and of course a few vineyard tours. Your house is amazing and so are you!! We are already making plans to come back again for a couple of winter get aways and hopefully again next Christmas. You are the best..with many thanks.

Review submitted: January 9, 2013   Date of arrival: January 4, 2013

Although I was a bit intimidated at first by renting such a well appointed house for a weekend, it was truely a pleasure. The house does have spectacular sunset views and very comfortable furniture which lends itself beautifully to kicking back and relaxing. Although it may be great in the summer, I think the winter may be the best time as there are plenty of fireplaces. There is also a beautiful kitchen which worked perfectly for our chef which Lisa recommended and really made the weekend that much more special. We also found the putting green provided for a lot of laughs.

Terrific Home

AM (Singapore)
Review submitted: December 30, 2012   Date of arrival: November 30, 2012

Second time we've stayed at Lisa's beautiful home. No surprises after a long flight in from Asia (she greeted us!), other than awful JFK traffic. By all means go to either Southold Seafood market or the one across from Santa's tree farm for fresh clams, lobsters, fish etc and cook away in the outstanding kitchen, has everything you need including SHARP knives - not the cheapo Ginsu versions found at most VRBO rentals. Take a look at Google maps and explore the nearby beachside communities and shorelines, take in historic sights and lighthouses and definitely eat lunch at the small cafe on main street in Mattituck, forgot the name but specials are always on a chalkboard inside - Zagat rated. Excellent cappucinos. Sandy had no impact here. Quiet, safe and TV's throughout the home have a few hundred channels. Great outdoor grill. If out of season no need to go to the Hamptons or Shelter Island, stay put and relax!

From waking up in the morning and making breakfast with the glorious view from the great room to just sitting down in the kitchen island and having wine, cheese and great conversation. This home makes you feel welcome as soon as you step inside. For a moment I thought it was mine ! Lisa, you were such a pleasure, and so helpful with all the information you gave us. Charter School Auction Item

Review submitted: December 4, 2012   Date of arrival: November 17, 2012

My family and friends visited in late November. What a beautiful time of year.

We enjoyed the fireplace during a glass of wine, while using the pantry filled with beautiful accent pieces to serve our cheeses on. We were lucky enough to get the master suite and what a lovely room it was. From the view, to the fireplace, to the expansive bath, to brushing your teeth while looking at the water; for me was once-in-a-lifetime.

Even though it was brisk outside, we hiked through the woods, visited the waterfront beaches and let the kids search for deer. We even played baseball in the sand pit in front. The ladies went shopping at yard sales and the men went to the brewery. The kids went to the carousel and out for ice cream.

Whether you want to wine and dine at home or at a restaurant, the North Fork is the place to visit. This home was the best place to stay so that everyone could be together and have the best of both worlds.

Thanks again Lisa - we will be back!

Friends' get away

Review submitted: December 4, 2012   Date of arrival: November 26, 2012

It says something about the quality of a stay when the stunning view isn't even the most memorable part. The Bayview is built to enjoy your favorite people. It has room for everyone to have their own space, but a few awesome options for gathering together as well, most notably that killer great room. The real reason I want to go back though is to sneak a peak at who makes those beds. SO COMFORTABLE.

Booked Bayview for a girls weekend to celebrate my best friend's upcoming wedding & it was incredible! Its been almost 2 months since we were there & everyone is still talking about it. Lisa & the staff go above & beyond in making your stay perfect - the house is impeccable, it truly felt like home. The recommendation for the wine tour & private chef made our stay that much more fun! When we booked the house, she said we'd be back & now we can't wait to plan another weekend!!!

Fabulous Fall Weekend Getaway

Joanne (New York, NY)
Review submitted: November 3, 2012   Date of arrival: October 26, 2012

My family and I enjoyed a fabulous fall weekend getaway at this property. The listing photos are very accurate, so we were very pleased with the high end, luxury amenities and the beautiful views. The property was clean, well-maintained and very comfortable to have the whole family hang out together. The elevator was helpful for my elderly parents to safely get in and out of the house. We also enjoyed the automatic playing piano, which encouraged my parents to sing a few old songs for us. Lisa gave us very helpful information about nearby activities and we spent a wonderful afternoon at a local farm, where we had a lot of fun on a hayride!

Birthday weekend away with family and friends

Review submitted: November 2, 2012   Date of arrival: November 3, 2011

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at your beautiful home. The elevator came in handy for my father to get in and out of the house easily. We just enjoyed spending time together in the main living room on the 2nd floor. My parents enjoyed the automatic piano playing so they were treating us to a few songs. We had a beautiful day on Saturday and went on a lovely hay ride at one of the local farms. Everything else was top notch so we had a terrific time.
Thanks again. Take care.

Amazing in all seasons!

Matt M (United States)
Review submitted: October 22, 2012   Date of arrival: September 6, 2012

This was my second visit, my first being during the summer several years back, which needless to say was outstanding - Pool, Local to Beach, Water, etc and the luxurious but yet comfortable amenities of the house (really more than just a house) allowed my large family to all do their own thing as well as come together for some great family time.

However, this review is about my recent trip during the month of September, which I found out according to the local paper has some weekends that are even busier that any weekend during the summer. The weather was great and at night we certainly took advantages of the fireplaces while still enjoying the all the outdoor spaces this Lisa's home has to offer.

The kids went pumpkin and apple picking while my husband and brother in-law's enjoyed golf and the vineyards. However, our favorite time was gathering everyone at night, cooking in the gourmet kitchen and sitting around the fire. I truly think this is a house for all seasons.

I was recommended to this property by a friend who had stayed here last year for a long weekend of wine tasting. I trusted my friend's taste but I was so blown away when I arrived and everything, I mean everything exceeded my expectations. My family and I barely left the house because it was so beautiful. What a great spot for a wedding, rehearsal dinner or birthday or anniversary party! I would highly recommend this vacation home to anyone and will most certainly be back!

Review submitted: October 19, 2012   Date of arrival: September 30, 2012

I was amazed when I got to the property, it was simply beautiful. The owner saw to every detail you could
possibly think of. After the experience the owner felt like my best friend. The area around offered every-
thing from fine dining to wine tasting, golfing, boating, sun bathing or just hanging out watching the sunset from the back deck. I recently got married and if I had a smaller wedding I definitely would have booked this property. I definitely would recomend this property to all my friends and family. I am looking forward to staying at this property again and exploring more of the area around.

We booked Lisa house for a girls weekend. From day one when we contacted Lisa to the days after our stay Lisa was nothing but wonderful. She could not do enough to make the entire booking process and our stay more than we ever could have imagined. The pictures of the house really do not do it justice. It is a beautiful house, the view is amazing. We were planning on eating out but when we saw the kitchen we planned a gourmet meal. You name it Lisa had it in her kitchen. We are all close friends but the house gave us enough room for everyone to have their own space. Lisa recommendations for restaurants and wineries to visit were the best. The North Fork Table was amazing. Shin and Raphael vineyards were excellent. We have already booked next year and a winter weekend. So much to do and a fabulous house to stay at. Lisa you are the best and we cannot wait to come back. See you soon

We enjoyed our weekend at the Bayview Property so much that we can't wait to go back next year...the house is very comfortable and extremely well appointed...it is cozy for two but also can accommodate a crowd which was great as we invited a bunch of friends over one night - and there was plenty of room. As for the sunsets - each of our 3 nights were stellar - perfect for sitting on the deck with a glass of wine from one of the North fork wineries with your favorite person next to you!
Thank you Lisa!

Your house is every bit as beautiful in person as pictures - that view is truly amazing. Unfortunately the rain put a damper on our time but we enjoyed Noah's, Claudio's and the North Fork Table. Renting on line is something very new to me. Typically we stay in hotels or rent from a realtor. This was such a great experience and I'm so happy we took the chance to check out this home. The house is AMAZING. You never want to leave when you look out at the gorgeous views. Even when it was raining it was fantastic! I called and spoke to Lisa because I could not believe that this house actually rents for $300 a night from Sunday through Thursday. I thought there has got to be some kind of catch.....impossible. Nothing of the kind, it was exactly as she stated. The way the house is built, the master bedroom, kitchen and living area are all on the top floor. Since it was just the two of us the house felt like it was just the right size. If we wanted to use the gym or the pool we would go downstairs. Otherwise we just lived on the top floor. If any one gets a chance any time of year to take advantage of this great opportunity do it. Take a vacation, personal day or call in sick. It is an unbelievable deal and worth every penny. There is no doubt in my mind that we will take advantage of this again in December and go to Lisa's Christmas Tree Farm....Santa's in Cutchogue and back again to use the house in the winter, warming up to one of the 3 fireplaces and a glass of local wine. I can't imagine how gorgeous it must look when there is snow on the ground. Don't walk RUN to Bayview!!! Thanks again Lisa

Review submitted: September 4, 2012   Date of arrival: August 19, 2012

Having gone "east" for family vacations for several years, we can say with certainty that "Bayview" offers a wonderful way to capture the family for a week or two. The house has all the amenities one would want to ensure that your vacation would go on uninterrupted for any wants. You only need to bring your provisions or have them delivered and your all set. The scenic views are wonderful and are especially beautiful at sunset when the sun reflects off the sparkling water for a real treat. Pour yourself a little wine, kick back on the lounge chair and watch one of the best shows Mother Nature can offer. The home is dog friendly for you pet lovers and the grounds offer a full array of deer and rabbit in the mornings and at sundown to excite the young ones.
Have a great time and be part of the "Bayview" family on your next vacation.

Lisa's home and its surroundings are absolutley beautiful. Our 2 family vacation (my brothers family and mine) was a pleasure with access to any activity possible (wineries, beach, golf, dining) . The real delight though was enjoying dinner, a cocktail and the unbelivable view the property afforded. Certainly a week we will never forget.

The finest review I could give a property would be a recommendation to others, Lisa's home would be one I would have no problem referring others to.

Review submitted: July 5, 2012   Date of arrival: June 24, 2012

This is our 4th year coming to Bayview. My wife and I always come to the house a few days early so we can relax before the children come. We truly feel like it's our home when we get here. Lisa has the refrigerator full with all of requested provisions. When we arrive we go right to the refrigerator pour a glass of wine and start to relax! When we were first coming out to the North Fork we were wondering if there would be enough for us to do since we stay for two weeks. I will tell you once you stay here, you never want to leave. You just get lost in the views. It's so gorgeous here it's impossible to capture it in a photo. The first time we walked into the great room we gasped for breath. Even though I know the views having been here before, when I come back it still takes my breath away! It amazes me how festidiously clean this home is. I check the calendar and see that it is rented all year long. You would never know when you arrive that the house has ever been rented to any one else. We have had a few cocktail parties with some friends who also rent on the North Fork or have their own homes. We are always so proud when our guests say this is the most gorgeous site on the North Fork! Lisa is a wonderful person to work with. We saw the rates for weeknights in Sept/Oct and already booked some time to be here in the fall. What a deal!! We highly recommend staying at Bayview for any event or a relaxing visit in the winter. As Lisa says..."it's gorgeous here all year long!" It's true.

Back again next year!!!

Review submitted: July 1, 2012   Date of arrival: June 17, 2012

Lisa –

We had the most beautiful family vacation imaginable at your Southold home. We had great fun preparing meals together in your amazing kitchen, barbequing and playing music in your state of the art system by poolside.

The views were simply breathtaking!!

The countless amenities including the gym, player piano, elevator, magnificent baths, etc., just added to our comfort and what was a fabulous time for all. My 3 year old grandson was in tears when we had to leave, but we promised him we would do it again.

The fun started from day one when you had a professional photo shoot and we got to see your home from a different point of view.

You were always right on when we needed something. Hats off to Maria who did a terrific job with the cleaning.

See you next year!!

This was not our first time here and certainly won't be the last! There is no other house like this on the North Fork! Happy Wedding Guests

Review submitted: June 30, 2012   Date of arrival: June 15, 2012

Lisa,

Thank you so very much for sharing your beautiful home with us for our wedding day. You were right when you said the back area of the house comes alive when you put the tent up and simply decorate the tables. Less was definitely more when you have all those beautiful grasses around the house. We loved having the cocktail reception around the pool and watching the gorgeous sunset on our wedding night with friends and family. Staying a few days to relax was definitely the best suggestion you had. What a pleasure it was to be able to relax with my fiance before all the festivities began. As big as the house seems, it really does work for just two people the way you have set everything up. We can't thank you enough for helping us with every detail and supporting us along the way! If it weren't for you and Maria I don't know what we would have done. You were even able to keep both our mothers calm too! We can't wait to come back to our new found "home". We had two friends who are also getting married that said they want to do the same thing here too! How great is that, wee get to come back and play again. Unfortunately we won't get the use of that gorgeous master bedroom and bath but we will come back another time just the two of us. I love the idea of coming back in the winter and relaxing by the fireplace. It must be so beautiful looking out to the water and the preserves in the winter.

Again, you are the best and we just can't thank you enough for everything. You truly helped to make our wedding perfect. Love, M and M

Too Good To Be True...I Thought

Review submitted: May 15, 2012   Date of arrival: April 29, 2012

When I looked at the website and saw how beautiful this home was, I thought for sure it was out of my price range and I would not be able to afford it. I'm a single mom who gives most everything I have to my family. A luxury home like this one was something I never thought I would be able to stay in. I saw that it was posted that week days in the off season starting on Sunday afternoons the house was available for $250 a night. I thought this can't be possible!! When speaking to Lisa she said It's important that every one has the opportunity to stay and appreciate Bayview and that I should consider taking a few days off to come enjoy it with a few of my girlfriends....OMG I thought this is too good to be true!! Well I am here to tell you that it was everything and more than I could have wished for. I could not believe I was really staying in this magnificent estate. I honestly started to cry when I walked in and saw where I was staying. We planned a few days of events outside the house, only to find ourselves loving it so much here we never wanted to leave! Thank you Lisa for making this possible for us. We will be back over and over again.

This home was a large part of a wonderful get-away for 10 ladies on our annual trip. When I first saw this home online I was sure we could never afford to stay there but took a shot at emailing Lisa. She was so helpful and obviously loves this beautiful home we are so fortunate she rents. Every one of us was so taken by the beauty, cleanliness, comfort and amenities of this home. It is even more beautiful than the pictures. There is plenty of room for multiple families or friends to either be together in the great room or find a quiet spot away from others. Lisa gives you a lot of information about the area which we definitely used to pamper ourselves: Pick up & return to the house by Vintage Tours for an afternoon of winery visits; massages at the house and then a French Chef who came to the house and did a 5 star dinner for us. Lisa provided us with all the people to make this long weekend the best.

Third Visit and another unforgettable stay!

Jennifer (Long Island, NY)
Review submitted: April 2, 2012   Date of arrival: March 29, 2012

Recently spent a long weekend at Lisa's incredible estate and everything was perfect, once again. Every guest at the house was blown away with how beautiful the home is, especially when they step into the Great Room and see the breathtaking views. The weekend was all girls and we fit in the perfect amount of fun and relaxation. Lisa provided numerous recommendations for everything we had planned which made some things very easy. On top of all of our group activities including a salon day, shopping, wine tour, and a visit to the town of Greenport, it was perfect to have such an oasis to return to. The house has everything you need---just bring yourself, lay back and take it in! Family dinner in the Great Room, board games, sitting out on the porch while enjoying the local wine, pampering yourself in the Master Bath with the sauna/steamroom/jacuzzi.... We couldn't have asked for more and hope to return time and time again.

Luxurious, Peaceful, Beautiful

Review submitted: March 19, 2012   Date of arrival: March 10, 2012

Me and my fiance spent the night at this unbelievably beautiful northfork home. If you're looking for a peaceful, relaxing place to stay, do yourself a favor and book this house. You won't be disappointed (just don't expect a beach house). The house had every luxury you could ask for: gas fireplaces, an amazing kitchen, simple but comprehensive entertainment system, gym, sauna, hot tub, even a putting green. The view from the living room and master bedroom was spectacular, especially in the morning with the sounds of the birds flooding into the house. We had a magical night in this home, and if we have any regrets, it's that we didn't stay longer.

Future stay and visit

Review submitted: March 2, 2012   Date of arrival: February 27, 2012

We decided to take a trip to Southold yesterday to see your house before our scheduled week this summer.

Our visit to your house was a super treat. As we looked around we kept saying OMG!! The online pictures understate the beauty of your home. As recent retirees, we found it fun and invigorating to explore the many beautiful rooms in your house. It is spacious, the views are breathtaking and it has so much to offer. We are looking so forward to coming with our family, children and grandchildren. Your hospitality was super.

Thank you!!

Dear Lisa,
Amazing—Beautiful—Paradise—Unforgettable—Heaven—Relaxing - is how I describe your wonderful vacation home. You have created a private oasis to rejuvenate the mind, body and spirit. You have thought of every amenity anyone could need. Everything is RIGHT!
I had the feeling of complete relaxation while we enjoyed lunch, overlooking the
pool, the beach and the bay. The gourmet kitchen, fireplaces, private suites, a working office – all with gorgeous views of the bay are ideal for

Repeat visitor- INCREDIBLE home & relaxing weekend with friends!

Jennifer (Long Island, NY)
Review submitted: February 22, 2012   Date of arrival: February 17, 2012

Just returned from my 2nd group visit at Lisa's home and cannot say enough positive things about our stay. There was more than enough space for our group of 10 and the home is pet friendly, which is a plus. Incredible sunsets, relaxing sleep in comfortable beds, modern/unique/beatiful decor from all over the world, cozy fireplaces in all rooms, all of the amenities needed including all dining and cookware, iPod docks, spa-like bathrooms with a sauna, steamroom shower and bathtub. The list goes on. This house is perfect for hosting anything from a weekend with friends, to a family get-together, to a wedding or a bachelorette party (which I'll be returning for in one month)! My review is based on visits in the winter, although I'd love to be there in the summer and take advantage of the pool.

The location is excellent in the middle of wine country. We spent the day visiting wineries including Duck Walk & Corey Creek (1 mile away), Martha Clara, Sherwood House and more. We are repeat offenders for breakfast at Jenni's Main Street Grill (5 minute drive) where the food is to DIE for, and we never had to wait over 10 minutes for our large group.

Lisa is incredibly accommodating and a great hostess. Even having not met her in person yet, she has always made sure we are happy with everything prior to arriving, and is available whenever we need her by cell phone or email.

A+++++

Review submitted: February 15, 2012   Date of arrival: February 3, 2012

No gifts required for the best family time ever in this beautiful resort home with it's many amenities. We had a great time cooking together and sharing precious time that is not so easy to come by these days. The house is large enough that all 13 of us could sit together in almost every room in the house. We took a nice walk down the block and visited the horses and picked shells by the beach. We also visited Sparkling Pointe vinyard and enjoyed an afternoon of great wine, cheese and music. Returning back to the house, throwing on the fireplace in the the great room ,ordering pizza and being with the people you love most, the best weekend ever. This house is a great experience for anyone any age. Love it and can't wait to go back. Till next year God willing.

Call me crazy, but I just have to comment on this listing! I stumbled across it while looking at wedding venues (my cousin is getting married) and I can't get over how family friendly it is, while at the same time being gorgeous and luxurious! Pet friendly, handicapped accessible, LGBT friendly...the list goes on and on. I guess I just want to let you know I think it's wonderful and I will remember this for the future. CJ and Andria 5 star review!!!!

Review submitted: January 29, 2012   Date of arrival: January 26, 2012

My fiancee and I live in MN, but we knew as soon as New York passed same-sex marriage that we wanted to get married there because that is where she is from. We began looking for properties that could comfortably host the wedding ceremony and the reception, as well as provide a week-long "vacation" for our bridal party and ourselves. We want to create an experience for ourselves and our loved ones that is full of celebration, love, fun, and relaxation.

We looked at a lot of potential properties but none of them fit our needs; they didn't allow weddings, the property wasn't big enough, or it was unclear if they were comfortable with same-sex weddings. Luckily, we came across Lisa's property and thought it was PERFECT! We contacted her and received a response right away. Since we are planning a long-distance wedding, my fiancee and I had a bunch of questions. Lisa was extremely prompt when answering our questions via email and graciously spent two hours of her time answering our questions over the phone. She provided numerous wedding planning tips and lots of insider information on the area's best activities, catering, and more. She even offered to perform our nuptials! Lisa is extremely accommodating and it is clear that she wants to help make everyone's wedding day as special and stress-free as it can be. She is also comfortable working with budgets of all sizes and provided many great money-saving tips. We are so excited to continue to plan our wedding with Lisa - her beautiful property offers such wonderful amenities at an unbelievable value. On top of this, Lisa's willingness to answer questions and assist with both the smaller and larger details of wedding and vacation planning makes this whole process much less daunting.

We feel so blessed to have found the perfect place for our wedding and will be sure to post another review after we get married in the Fall of 2013.

Three generations of my family stayed here for a special birthday celebration! Everything about Lisa's home is just as you read. The views are spectacular, the furnishings gorgeous and comfortable, and the location is perfect. We visited wineries, explored the property and made fabulous meals with lovely wines. If you like to cook (or eat), you will LOVE this amazing kitchen. I have been dreaming about the walk-in pantry and its incredible supplies since we left. I was happy to be woken up early by my daughter because I could sip coffee and watch the sunrise slowly lighting up the panoramic sky. You know you are in a special place if you are happy to wake up before the sun! Thank you so much Lisa!! We can't wait to return.

Hi Lisa! We are part of the Robbie & Crystal Weekend. It was an experience right from the beginning. The house is gorgeous, the bathrooms feel like a spa, and every room feels welcoming. Your kitchen is one that everyone dreams of which meant that everyone had a hand in something. And the views from every part of the house were breathtaking. Our whole group had an absolutely wonderful weekend. There was something for everybody. We were able to enjoy the vineyards because they are so close by and it was so great that afterward we had a cozy spot in your home where we got to enjoy the sunset while relaxin by a fireplace. It was so beautiful! I hope we get to return to experience it in the summer. Thank you so much for having us as guests in your home!

Bayview is Heaven & Lisa an Angel !

Review submitted: January 13, 2012   Date of arrival: January 6, 2012

From the very first phone call with Lisa I confidently without a moments hesitation sent her a large deposit (without even seeing the house first) !!!

When a family offered her twice as much money for a week that we originally booked, she declined. Lisa’s character, problem solving ability, optimism and belief in Karma make her someone that is so fun to work with and someone you can trust instantly! Living it New York City it is so refreshing to meet someone genuine!

-This is itself is enough said!

Looking at the amount of remaining characters I have left I am worried I won't have enough room to talk about the FABULOUS HOME she graciously allowed us to stay in. On one hand I want to write a terrible review so others won’t want to stay there and I’ll have more weekends to choose from for future visits (....JUST KIDDING)! When I think of how special it was to stay there, I simply must pay it forward and have others experience the exact same level of PERFECTION that we did! I read and write reviews on EVERYTHING and am realizing how peculiar it is that I am giving something 5 stars and have no negatives.

My husband and I eloped in St. Maarten and wanted to rent a house to have a group of our closest friends celebrate with us (We’re very non-traditional). We did just that with 14 of our closest friends and every single person there did not stop with the string of adjectives describing Lisa’s luxury home! We celebrated, laughed so much, drank too many margaritas, danced on the back decks to the outdoor sound system, cooked gourmet meals, explored the property, visited Corey Creek Vineyard and took a moment to truly appreciate the things in life that are special (The people you meet along the way…Lisa being one of them)!

I’m right now trying to coordinate with the friends to agree on a weekend this summer to do an instant replay! If anyone has hesitations or questions please feel free to call me (Lisa, you can provide my information to anyone!)

With So Much Love,

Crystal & Robbie xoxox

At Clara’s House – A Journal

One

As I journey along the path I will always be drawn to Clara’s house and the peace and serenity I experienced there. It was not just an ordinary country home. It was actually a sanctuary for my soul that had been tossed around, thrown at the wall, hurled to the floor, bruised, fatigued, and feeling down and out.

I did not find the house. It found me through its owners. I ran a “wanted to rent” ad and a young farmer named Tim saw it. His wife Patsy called and said, “We have got the farm house you’re looking for. It’s clean, charming, away from neighbors and has a view of the valleys. We call it Clara’s House.”

The locals named it after the owner who was found dead of a heart attack on a settee in the dining room. She was ninety-five. As she grew old alone she closed off the rest of the three-bedroom house and lived in the kitchen and dining rooms. Tim and Patsy acquired it as part of the farm they bought from her estate.

The two-story frame house sits on a knoll with valleys to the east and west. It has a worn out whitewashed look, faded green roof, and country cottage windows with tiny panes. It stands desolately amidst the cornfields, the closest neighbor being half a mile away.

It faces the east with a country road about sixty feet from the front door. On its north side a burly pine tree reaches out to the roadway like a giant bonsai. A pole wrapped by a trumpet vine and flanked by purple lilacs and bridal wreaths marks its driveway.

A row of tall evergreens shields the house from the road. Hyacinths, tulips, wild ferns and rose bushes are planted close to the walls. Towering maple and oak trees surround it, with their droopy branches touching the roof.

I felt something pleasant and familiar that first time I set foot in the house. The cool temperature, the musty smell, the prismatic light playing through one window, the branches of a nearby oak tree creating a crazy quilt silhouette through another – this dizzying array of quaintness hypnotized me. I stopped in the hallway to think, but Tim interrupted to show me the rest of the house. At tour’s end I expressed my misgivings: farm buildings blocked the view to the west, and the house was too big for just one person. He apologized with some embarrassment for his wife’s call and for wasting my time.

Three days later I moved to Clara’s House.?

Review submitted: January 4, 2012   Date of arrival: December 25, 2011

Lisa,

May the Peace of the Lord Jesus, which is beyond all human comprehension, descend on you and your family this new year.

I have taken the liberty of attaching a journal I wrote about a rented house in Blue River, WI. My wife and I have lived in our first and only home in Chicago since 1972, when we bought it new. We're only 3/4 mile from the Sears Tower and 3-4 miles from the Magnificent Mile. In 1995 I purchased an Assisted Living Facility in Richland Center, WI, a rural town of 5000 people. There are more cows in our county than people.

When I moved there after buying the business I rented Clara's House (see essays) and Bayview reminded me of the serenity at Clara's. Please excuse my presumption that you would be interested in reading about it but I feel the strong energy that bonds you with Bayview.

Please accept my heartfelt respect and admiration for you for following your bliss.

Be still, center yourself and stay open.

Joe

Christmas visit with family

Review submitted: January 3, 2012   Date of arrival: December 1, 2011

Jose,

Thank you very much for your kind words regarding our home. We make every effort for our guests and I am so pleased you took the time to write about your wonderful 5 star experience at Bayview. Yes, being a "local" you may have thought I pulled some extra weight around here to get things done more quickly, but unfortunately it does not work that way. Through the eight years of waiting for our permits we actually were "grandfathered" with setbacks. We benefited by getting our permits for 75 foot setbacks, which now would be over three hundred feet. Through patience and perseverance we ended up with the house as close to the water as you experienced. In the summer time when you are in the pool you feel like you are in the middle of the bay the way we designed it. I'm not sure if you knew that the pool is a true heated gunnite pool which was engineered on pilings. It cost over $100,000 to have them specially make it that way. It soars 15 feet above the ground extending from the first level of the house which is also lifted 15 feet. This way you have all those beautiful water views from the bedroom you stayed in. Thank you for taking such fantastic care of our beautiful home. It's family gatherings like yours that fills this home with special memories, even if we can't see them, there is an overwhelming sense of it that lingers. You know the feeling, it's indescribable, and only something you feel when you walk in. It would be our great pleasure to have you, your family and friends back to stay with us again. Have a Happy and Healthy New Year!! All my very best...Lisa

Hi Lisa,My wife and I were part of the R....party and stayed Dec 2011 in the Jr. Master.. This was our first experience staying at a luxury rental house. Your house's amenities are 5-star and the location and character of the house are 5+ stars.. Our niece, Dianne, made an excellent choice. Awesome!I can't believe how long it took you to get a building permit. but if I were a "local," I would also insist on a rigorous building permit process.

Review submitted: November 20, 2011   Date of arrival: November 7, 2011

We had Lisa's Bayview house for the week of our wedding and it was the best decision we could have made. Not only did Lisa help us out with recommendations for rentals and catering, but she helped us have a very pleasant and comfortable stay. The house itself is gorgeous and the view is breathtaking. Jon (my husband) and I watched the sunset every night. The master bedroom allowed us to enjoy the sunrise atmosphere while still being cozy in bed. The fireplaces were the best! The kitchen was fantastic and we hosted our rehearsal dinner there. The double dishwasher was a life saver! We did yoga in the great room the morning of the wedding and a blue heron was visiting down by the water right in our view.
We were married right on the property in the most beautiful setting on Long Island. Lisa was so nice and supportive of us from day 1. It was so nice to have such a great place to live and be married, very relaxed and warm.
Thank you so much!!! :)

I know you took such care to furnish your home! It all is beautiful, but my favorite pieces are the living room couch, dining room chairs, and the white chairs in the master bedroom and downstairs (so beautiful AND comfortable!). I also love the mirror above the sink in the downstairs bathroom at the end of the hall. And of course the pottery. We were in Positano for our honeymoon and have similar pieces. Just gorgeous :)

A new Mr and Mrs at Bayview

Review submitted: October 28, 2011   Date of arrival: October 27, 2010

Hi Lisa,

This is Jean (the newly named Mrs.). I know you have been corresponding with Steve this entire time but I just wanted to send you a personal email myself.

I can't thank you enough for letting us stay in your beautiful home and allowing us to have close family & friends over for our rehearsal dinner. The house is simply amazing...and the view is breathtaking. There is so much attention to detail in the construction and decorating style. I love all the pieces you have in your home but especially the light fixtures that are on a pulley system! Do you mind if I ask where you got them from? Maybe we can incorporate them into our future home :)

Maria is a godsend and an angel. She was cleaning and tidying up while she was at the rehearsal dinner -- totally unnecessary but much appreciated. While we were at our wedding brunch on Sunday, she cleaned up our mess which we were planning to take care of when we got back. She even made it into my wedding vows! At the rehearsal dinner she had told me (regarding Steve) -- "marry him today not tomorrow." And I thought that was so poignant considering the fact that she had only met him a couple hours prior. Without question Maria is the best.

Our photographers brought along a videographer testing out aerial photography with them and he put together this little video. I thought you might appreciate it since your lovely home is captured in almost every shot! Here's the link:

Again thank you for sharing your home with us Lisa. We had a wonderful time and will always look back fondly when thinking about the time we got married :)

Take care,
Jean

Incredible Luxury

Adam A. (Glen Oaks, New York)
Review submitted: October 25, 2011   Date of arrival: October 7, 2011

A little background: my family and I get together every year to celebrate my parent's anniversary and usually stay at hotels on Eastern Long Island. I cannot think of an event that would not be perfect here. We will NEVER stay at a hotel again after staying here.
The listing description and pictures, while accurate, do not do this vacation home justice. It is absolutely beautiful, top to bottom, inside and out.
12 of us stayed for the weekend and had plenty of room for all. The bedrooms are all spacious and comfortable. We spent the majority of our time in the Great Room, a huge living room/dining room/kitchen area which is perfect for entertaining. The open layout is great since it allows people in the kitchen to interact with those in the dining area or living room. The appliances in the kitchen are top-notch (Viking, Kitchen-Aid, GE Elite, etc) and everything you would ever need is there. The living room has high ceilings and huge windows with sliding glass doors that lead to the upper deck. Spectacular is the only way to describe the sunsets seen from this room.
We were lucky enough to have decent enough weather to use the heated pool and the lower deck. No one wanted to barbque, but if we had, there was a Weber grill (more high quality) ready to be fired up. The gym equipment is the type you'd find at your local health club, with an elliptical machine, treadmill, exercise bike and weight machine.
All of the rooms are set up with an incredible audio/video system. Bose speakers everywhere including outdoors on the decks and surrounding the pool. High-end flat screen televisions in every bedroom, the gym, even some bathrooms! And a system that lets you play your ipod remotely from any room in the house. This place is a high-tech audiophile's dream.
The owner Lisa is as wonderful as the home. You can tell she really cares about the people staying here. It was a pleasure dealing with her. Her courtesy, kindness and professionalism are a big reason we will be returning year after year.
I could go on forever and my review of this estate would still fall far short of describing it's beauty and luxury. Suffice to say that my family and I have a new "home away from home"! Thanks again Lisa, for letting us into your home. We couldn't have been more pleased.

Special couple back again!!!

Hii Lisa,

Boy, its so heart breaking to leave this place....We had an absolute amazingly beautiful time it was just unbelievable. Every second of it we enjoyed and just wanted to thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for your extreme generosity. It was a very much needed getaway. We watched the sunrise and sunset every day and it was just perfect and it sure does never get old. The house is beautiful in and out and we already have soo many memories and laughs that will never be forgotten. Just walking around and seeing some of our seashells from our wedding and finding our dogs tennis ball that we must of left from our june trip, and looking at the barbeque and remembering all the great food we cooked on there for our rehearsal dinner, where j's dress was hanging up in the downstairs laundry room. HAHA, just a few of the memories we really took in on this pervious trip. We have great photos from the little beach/island across the way with your house in the way background, real neat. We left you alittle token of appreciation on the island, we heard you are a fan, and you mentioned that you were thinking of staying there this week, if you do remeber to enjoy alittle of it while looking out across the water to the little sandy beach. Because we paddle boated across that bearring sea to see if we could find any kind of washed up treasure !! but, we settle for 2 pieces of beach glass a couple shells and a real nice piece of drift wood thats going to be used to build a shelf at our home to put some of the things we found and photos we took while staying at The Bayview house. Indoor Wedding!!!

Review submitted: October 18, 2011   Date of arrival: October 14, 2011

When my fiancee and I heard New York had passed same-sex marriage we knew right away that we want to get married. We soon started to look for placed to have a small intimate wedding and we found Lisa's bayview home. We feel in love with pictures that are here on the site and knew this was the place for our special day. Also pictures do not do this home any justice. It is absolutely breath taking and amazing. From the moment we stepped in we knew we picked the perfect place. You couldn't ask for better views. Lisa is the sweetest person you will ever meet. No matter how big or small you question ot issue is she is there to help. About a month before our wedding our wedding party grew from 10 to 25 people. As I began to panic Lisa helped me to stay calm and figure out a plan. She knew these were changes that were out of my control and she help us to come up with a plan to have an indoor wedding. Which has not been done before in her home. The upstairs in the kitchen, Great room and Dinning room was the perfect place. It fit 25 people perfectly for the ceremony. It also gives you a great background scenery of the bay for ceremony pictures. After the ceremony guest went down stairs to the greeting room to enjoy drinks while dinner was setup and we took breath taking pictures. Lisa offered us to use 2 additional tables to bring into the kitchen. We didn't need to use them because between the dunning room table and the butcher block there was plenty of room for us. The same place we had our ceremony was where we had our dancing. Just move the alter table to the side and we were ready to go. It was a weekend of a lifetime that would never be forgotten. Also to speak about the person that Lisa is, we left our flower right in the kitchen, and we didnt realize it till we were 2 hours away. She wrapped them up and sent them to us. When you wake up on your last day you dint want to leave. We know for sure we will be back in the near future for couples long weekend. Lisa thank you for your kindness and genoroisity during our weekend. Couldn't ask for a better hostesses!! Also Maria was great and very helpful during our wedding day! We look forward to coming back in the future! Thank you, Annette and Kevina!!!

Owners response: The girls are so special to me. I am so proud of them. I am ecstatic about them choosing us to get married and celebrate at our home. I cried when I saw Kevina come out. She walked down the "aisle" in the living room with her veil down on her way to see Annette so beautiful. After they got married, they took a photo in front of the cake and their smiles were a galaxies wide!! They are so wonderful. After they left from the weekend celebration, they forgot their bouquets and asked if I could ship them back to them. I wrapped them up in paper towels tight so they would not fall apart. I sent them from my office Fed Ex with my co worker so they would arrive in the best shape possible. I totally understood why that was so important to the two of them. All the weddings here are special to me for many reasons.....this one is at the very top!!!! Love to you both.

Dream come true!

Review submitted: October 12, 2011   Date of arrival: September 6, 2011

My husband and I knew we wanted to get married in the North Fork area - we had been going there on weekends and his parents had a house in Orient. We wanted to find a house we could rent to have a reception outdoors, but offered enough space for our wedding party to come out days before the wedding to enjoy the time out there. Needless to say, it turned out to be the most spectacular house and the owner could not have been more helpful. We basically came out on a Thursday and did a wine tasting tour of some of the wonderful vineyards, on Friday had a BBQ/pool party on the deck, and finally Saturday had our reception. The house has a view from the living room that will take your breath away, and the open chef's kitchen is the size of some apartments in Manhattan! It does NOT look like a typical rental - each furnishing seems meticulously chosen and loved for. It would take too long to list all the notable things, but all in all, we could not have had the memorable wedding week without this house.

Thank you also for allowing us to host our wedding here!!! People are still talking about how gorgeous our "venue" was and everything was just spectacular!
Lisa has been so helpful, accommodating, and awesome about everything. It was a wonderful week's experience :)

An Amazingly Beautiful Home

Tim (New York)
Review submitted: September 26, 2011   Date of arrival: September 15, 2011

This house is simply amazing!!! My Wife & I rented this home for our wedding weekend, 9/15/11 thru 9/19/11. Our wedding ceremony and reception was at a local vineyard. We had our immediate family stay with us for the weekend and everyone was raving about how beautiful and spacious the home is. The weather was perfect; the scenery was gorgeous and we were lucky enough to be able to enjoy the pool every day we were at the home. I had Tom Schaudel come in to prepare some fabulous food which helped compliment a fantastic and enjoyable workspace. The pictures really do not do this home any justice. The kitchen is absolutely beautiful! The bedrooms are all private suites with their own bathrooms, audio visual components and access to the rear pool deck for lounging, tanning and of course swimming. The master living room sits plenty of people very comfortably as does the master dining room which are both great spaces for entertaining. The master bedroom suite is all luxury, from the private sauna to the relaxing steam shower, there isn’t an inch of this home that leaves any doubt. The Bayview home is an amazing place, which helped play a large role in our amazing wedding weekend, one both my wife and I will never, ever forget. As amazing as the home is and all that it has to offer, the owner Lisa is every bit of beautiful as well. Both my wife and I had a last minute arrangement fall through the cracks for our wedding; once Lisa heard about this misfortune, she stepped up and offered an extra night for both my wife and I to stay at the Bayview home free of charge. In today’s tough times it’s a breath of fresh air to know that there are still people in this world like Lisa who are willing to contribute positive karma when an opportunity rises. Both my wife and I cannot put into words how thoughtful and meaningful this kind of gesture means to us. It’s the kindness of people like Lisa and the absolute beauty the Bayview home offers, which has both my wife and I planning to visit once again very soon!

Our sedding and stay at the house

Stephan (Toronto, Canada)
Review submitted: September 23, 2011   Date of arrival: August 14, 2011

My wife and I came in on August 14th, a Sunday evening, a little less than a week before our wedding which was on the 20th. Lisa had been kind enough to let us stay a couple of nights prior to get to know the house before our arrival. It was breathtaking. The view is fantastic, the TV and kitchen room are such a wonderful center of attraction to the house and the main bathroom were both beautiful (the other ones too). I would rate this house as excellent but I rate it as Good only because the water was not as accessible as I anticipated. It is accessible but not as easily as I would have liked. It would have been nice if a path across the high bushes had been made so to walk from the backyard into the small bay area where maybe even a dock would be set up... (perhaps it's something Lisa could consider). Instead, you need to follow a path on the far right of the property which seems detached from the property. The path eventually (if you don't mind bugs) leads you to a bench overlooking the water but again, the water is quite a few feet beneath the sitting area so swimming or kayaking doesn't seem simple to me.

But don't let it stop you from renting this house, there is plenty of water access in the neighborhood and the town offers a great deal to see from vineyards to antiques and markets... It really was enjoyable and quite a week! Our guests and family were in love with the house and I will definitely come back... I wish there was a rating between Good and Excellent... again, only because of the water access.

Owners response: We loved having Lisa and Stephane stay at our home and have their wedding here! They are such wonderful people and so proud that they chose Bayview for their special day. The water way we have in front of the house comes in from the Peconic Bay and Corey Creek. We have a kayak launch at the end of the property where you can put in your boat or go for a swim. Because of the Department of Environmental Control, we are limited to cutting back or even touching any of the wetlands. There are huge fines and penalties, including jail if you touch anything. The boat basin in front of the house would typically have a path and trail from foot traffic, but since we don't keep our boat here it's over grown. We would love to have a mowed path to walk around the water, but it's not possible, so in lieu of that we have to walk down to the end of the property. Although the rules can be tougher than we would like it does keep people from destroying the natural beauty that we are so blessed to have on the North Fork and our home. Hope to see Stephane and Lisa soon for an anniversary weekend!

The boys loved the golf and greatly appreciate you getting them on at your personal golf club. The North Fork Country Club they said was gorgeous and such a treat.
We went to Shelter Island and hit sunset grill? It was a collection of the beautiful people, like an issue of "Town and Country", too fun!
Our stay was amazing, thank you again!

My now Wife and I were looking to plan a wedding at a east end house and came across Lisas beautiful home. After looking and finding nothing that would work out, we figured this house was going to be too good to be true. Well, i contacted lisa and explained to her what we were looking to do and she understood everything and was so polite and easy going. We agreed on a date and started planning our wedding. During the whole process of planning lisa gave us great advice on everything. She saved us so much time, and worry, and made us feel like this was our house. The packet she put together was very helpful in explainging how everything in the house worked and all the local information. I highly suggest reading it, also entertaining. (Im not a huge fan of shopping center restaurants either) HAHA. It was really a magical week we had there prior to the wedding to have time for my wife and i to relax before our big day. The house was immaculate and her staff was beyond helpful and top notch. The wedding was a huge success and is still being talked about months after. It was the time of a lifetime. We have never felt so relaxed and been surrounded with such beauty and peacefulness. Everything in the house was clean and spotless when we arrived and we liked to keep it that way. You can tell easily that a lot of thought and money was put into this house and it truely shows, no corners were cut anywhere. Every window you look out of you have a beautiful view. Lisa is a very respectful and a more than generous person, easy to work with and extremely kind. In doing so to everyone elese she should always recieve the same in return, espically towards respecting her beautiful home that she worked so hard to build and make a masterpeice for everyone elese to feel like its their own home for a week or however long you stay. On behalf of my wife and all our guests at our beautiful wedding, we would like to say thank you for creating the perfect setting for a magical wedding and a amazing week prior. That was a week that will never be forgotten and the memories we can hold with us untill our next trip at the Bayview house! Thank you again for being there thru the entire process and our like 200 emails back and forth to ease our mind with any question we might have. We are so lucky to have met you and we feel like we gained a great friend! It was absolutly amazing! We cannot wait to stay at your beautiful home again!! Your the best!

Amazing Estate and Amazing Host!

Sutton Place (NYC, NY)
Review submitted: August 16, 2011   Date of arrival: August 7, 2011

We rented this house a year in advance to be sure we did not miss out on being here once again. This house books up very quickly and there is no need to come check it out before you confirm your stay. It's better than any photos you could ever see. We have been fortunate enough to stay here with our children, alone for a long weekend and also with friends wine tasting and cooking at home during the winter months. There is not a time of year that is "off season" this house and the North Fork are a fantastic place to be any time of year. Lisa is the most gracious and accommodating host making sure that anything we may want in advance is waiting for us at our arrival. There is not a thing this house does not provide for anyone who is accustom to upscale living and high end travel. All the amenities of your own home or a 5 star hotel are awaiting for you here, from antiques, gorgeous crystal, Egyptian hand knotted rugs, to custom made Italian dinnerware. There is even a Waterford Crystal chandelier in the master bathroom! You truly feel like you are living like royalty at Bayview. If you live any where in the world and want an estate to escape to than this is the place for you. There are many lovely homes on the North Fork, but nothing as exquisite as this. Don't settle for anything less or you will be sure to get it.

Vacation Fun from age 5 to 75!

Eileen M. ()
Review submitted: August 3, 2011   Date of arrival: July 24, 2011

Our extended family spent a delightful week at this home. The property far exceeded our expectations- with excitement and fun for everyone - aged 5-75, even the ones with paws!

The layout of the home was perfect for the mulitple families sharing the home with separate bedroom suites for privacy and centralized areas to come together. The attention to detail in the design made the experience not only luxurious but tranquil. Lisa was just amazing - be sure to follow her recommendations for sites and restuarants in the area, she is "spot on" in her descriptions and assessments. Lisa even made sure that the refridgerator was stocked with our favorites on arrival day. This was so nice after a 4 hour car ride!

The only thing that came close to watching the beautiful sunsets was watching a lightening storm with all the lights out. It brought me back to my childhood memories of vacationing on the North Fork. I'm so glad we have now found a place that will provide the same fond memories for the next generation.

Once we can determine a date for 2012, we will begin planning for our next summer vacation at this location - and perhaps a quick weekend or so in between!

This experience was the highlight of my extended family's 2011! Thanks Lisa for so graciously sharing your paradise with us.

pull together for our wedding in such a short period of time and

behind our earlier misfortune with another rental.

Lisa you are truly humbling by your kind gesture to extend our stay

A Special Invite back for two beautiful people

Review submitted: July 22, 2011   Date of arrival: July 3, 2011

NO WAY!! Thats would be SO awesome!! Thank you so much. You know we obviously didnt have this wedding to make money, but for 2 low middle class people to save every penny for 4 years to have the wedding of our dreams and for all our family that know how long we came and tried to show at our wedding empty handed and have the nerve to bring guests. 14 to count ( out of about 95 people.) Then to have 12 no shows really was a reality check for what we thought about a lot of our family of lawyers, architects, and retired teachers just to name a few. Then someone like you would actully offer us your mansion of a home for a few nights for free and we only met once. Its just unbelivable the amount of genorosity someone can have that barley knows you, and the lack of dignity, morales and respect of someone thats known you your whole life can actually exist. Your a breath of fresh air. And we appreciate you so much.

Outstanding home, great location -- treat yourself to something special

NJ Sue (New Jersey)
Review submitted: July 4, 2011   Date of arrival: June 26, 2011

We just returned from a week at this beautiful property. The home itself is full of every amenity you could ask for (pool, sauna, TV in the bathrooms!, electronic fireplaces, wifi, sound system throughout the house and pool, golf putting green, elevator, and more!) But the property with its water views, wildlife, and privacy are the big winner for us. We felt like we were masters of our own private estate.

We had the good fortune of being at the house on the 4th of July weekend, so we were treated to several local fireworks displays that were clearly visible from the Great Room deck...a real treat!

Southold itself is a lovely little town. We got incredible oversized sandwiches for lunch at the Wayside Market and had an excellent dinner at the Founders Tavern -- both on Main Street. There are farm stands all along the main road...good produce, pies, jams, etc. There are tons of wineries all around too. We did not get to any of them since we were with young children, but they are all around the area.

We took a day trip to Greenport (just about a 1/2 hour away) and enjoyed shopping at a nice variety of small stores and had a very good seafood lunch at Claudio's.

Spent a few hours at Tanger Mall -- good if you have a bad weather day (which we did not) or if you are a bargain hunter (which we are).

We spent most of our time at the house -- just relaxing by the pool and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The home really did exceed our expectations and Lisa, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with.

Don't hesitate if you are considering renting this home -- treat yourself to something special.

AWSOME!

pete (Brooklyn, NY, USA)
Review submitted: June 22, 2011   Date of arrival: April 15, 2011

No false advertising here! This place is awsome!

We have been enjoying the North Fork for over 20 years and this is one of the best rental properties we have enjoyed. The house is extremely well equipped. Flat panel televisions, full ipod/music compatibility, beautiful pool, great grill, workout equipment, extremely comfortable beds/linens, steam shower and sauna in master bath, and a full chef's kitchen. If you like to cook like we do, this kicthen has it all. Everything is easy to find and can accomodate a large group.

Aside from the house itself, this location is really amazing. This on the water location really gives you the feeling of being in a wildlife sanctuary. The sunsets/sky in the early evening are breathtaking.
I was going for a run early one mornig with my dog and a beautiful red fox darted out accross the driveway. No kidding.

Lisa (the owner) is very hands on when you need her to be. She goes out of her way to make your stay "perfect". We had a really great and memorable stay. With out a doubt, we are fans for life!

Pete and family (Brooklyn)

Owners response: We loved having Pete and his wife here for their children's Spring break and family vacation. Having the heated pool for the children was a priority. It was important that they could swim comfortably at a time of year where it can be hot or cold. Their original thought was to go away and travel by plane some where, until they found us. We were a car ride away without the hassle of traveling by plane to a random hotel or island where they would have been one of a thousand. They were able to have their privacy and enjoyed the house like it was theirs (as it should be when guests rent it). One day my dad had to help me out with landscaping needs at the house. I loved my dad calling me up to say "what a wonderful family you have staying at the house". "Lisa, the kids were laughing and screaming jumping in the pool having a blast and Pete could not have been a more friendly guy. I'd love to get together with him some time when he's not staying here. He was really cool!" To which I replied " yes dad you are right, they are wonderful people, and the children are doing what they should be doing on their vacation..having fun!!" There is no doubt we will be enjoying new memories with this family over and over again. We very much look forward to them coming back to stay in "their home".

I'm with a fortune 100 company. We choose this house based on the write up, photos and speaking with the owner Lisa. Lisa helped us book extra housing near by and we used the house for all of our business meetings. The great room was perfect for round table discussions and accommodated flip charts. She was helpful in putting together activities for significant others such as golf, wine tasting and other local activities. The house was gorgeous, serene and the sunsets were as described.

Loved the house and the area and it couldn't have been any better.

Enjoyed driving around and checking out the towns and restaurants....it's a great area and very relaxing.

Ferry trip to Shelter island was a highlight along with walking around Greenport.

But enjoying weather hanging by pool was the best part of the trip..playing the music outdoors while kids were jumping in and out of pool will be the greatest memory!!

Morning Lisa!

We hope you enjoyed your week-end also.

It’s so hard to be back and get on the wheel of life again. We all enjoyed our escape to Bayview and we loved the house. We didn’t see as much of the surrounding area as we could have but with the house so welcoming we found it hard to leave. The boys were happy in the pool, playing golf and Jimmy set up a soccer goal in the sand. It was glorious just to relax and kick back.

Meeting you made the house more personable and both Shelley and I agreed we felt like we lived there. It was very modern but comfortable and inviting.

Thanks again

Dear Lisa,
Thank you so much for your generous offer for the kids to stay over night at the house. I know they will want to do that when they come back to LI. Of course they took off already only after 2 weeks home. Ah, youth... lol
We are so happy to have your place for our most special family day. I only have one daughter so I want her to have the wedding of a lifetime. I certainly hope that you will join us on Nov. 11th in celebrating with us on your beach and property.
You are so fun and cool to hang out with!
Can't wait to see you again and continue, a new friendship.
Thanks again, Lisa.
Take care,

The Ultimate Five Star North Fork Sanctuary

Review submitted: April 29, 2011   Date of arrival: April 28, 2011

As a lifelong eastern Long Island resident and someone who has a deep appreciation for the endless natural beauty that the North Fork has to offer, I can't begin to express how truly incredible this property is.

From every amenity possible like the heated pool, sauna, jacuzzi, smart entertainment system, flat screens galore, plush furniture, outdoor putting green, elevator and full wi-fi, very accessible, breathtaking views from every corner of the house and a sprawling kitchen that would make Mario Battali dance with joy, this is literally the perfect place for very special engagements or a private, intimate getaway (and very easy to get to from the main North Fork road.)

Lisa is an impeccable hostess who put incredible time, taste and detail into the landscape and layout of her home to ensure the highest level of accommodation and accessibility possible. I have stayed in 5 star hotels around the world that don't have this much thought and accessibility for their guests.

For those who plan on staying at this property, be prepared to be blown away by your surroundings - and not want to ever, EVER leave when it's time to go home.

Thank you for sharing your home and sanctuary, Lisa - there's nothing like it!

Our beautiful wedding at Bayview

Lewis (New York)
Review submitted: April 2, 2011   Date of arrival: March 27, 2011

We were so lucky to have met Lisa and have the pleasure of using her gorgeous home! The views are spectacular and were the back drop to our most important day. She was so helpful with every detail and made the entire event feel effortless. From helping us with the caterer, the tent company and other important things we needed help with for the wedding day Lisa was like having our own personal wedding planner. If it were not for her we don't know how the day would have ended up. The rehearsal dinner and the other events we planned at the house made the whole event last an entire week rather than just a few short hours at a commercial facility. All the local business people all knew the house which made everything so easy for us. I would recommend this home to any one that is interested in having any kind of event here or just simply enjoying this home as it was there own for a week or month if you have the time. It truly is a 5 star resort and "fit for a billionaire".

Owners response: We love having any special event at our home where family and friends share some of their most important memories. What was special about this family was that they had a true appreciation for the North Fork and how beautiful the water and nature preserves can be even in the late winter and early spring. This is one or our favorite times of year. We have so many guests that fly in from all over the world and may know or have researched the North Fork but have no idea about the local community and who they should fee comfortable to trust in business. We are a family that has been in town since the 1940's. We know a lot of other local families, and are grateful to have not only "old timers" take care of our home and guests, but also new wonderful people who have brought an entire new dimension to our beautiful town that we welcome with open arms. We pride ourselves with guests saying "we are staying at Bayview with Lisa". When they call for a reservation for dinner, go to the seafood market, buy a Christmas tree, go to a vineyard or solicit a professional wine tasting at the house, I know they will be taken care of. Thank you very much for choosing our home. We know you will be back over and over again.

Bachelorette Bash

Review submitted: March 30, 2011   Date of arrival: March 25, 2011

I was lucky enough to stay at this gorgeous house last weekend (March 25) for my sister's bachelorette party. Ten girls fit comfortably in the home and there were bathrooms to spare! The kitchen blew us away. It was totally luxe and even made us want to cook. The views from almost all the rooms were serene, we felt secluded in a very good way. The rooms were large and comfortable, all of us could fit in the living room/dining room. Lisa is very accomodating and a pleasure to deal with.

Owners response: It was such a pleasure having the girls stay at our home. They took care of it like it was their own. We love sharing our personal residence with people who truly appreciate our precious things. They said they would be back over and over again and we very much look forward to their future stay!

Great Getaway Home -

The North Fork is a wonderful oasis from the city and the more modest younger sister to the Hamptons. This was the perfect place to host my friends for a birthday getaway weekend. My father had stayed here previously and recommended the home highly.

Although we wanted to go out and sample the local restaurants, the home had such a wonderfully well-appointed open kitchen with that gorgeous view, we had to stay in one night to cook and savor the surroundings. There was top of the line equipment and every utensil and gadget a cook could possibly want. It was a joy to cook and eat there.

The home has a centralized control unit that can play music and movies from and endless selection and also control where the music plays, the temperature and lighting to create that perfect mood. But the bathroom! I could have stayed in the master bathroom the whole weekend and been content with the view, the bath, shower, steam and sauna; it was like my own personal spa oasis.

Lisa was a very hands-on and enthusiastic proprietor. She made herself available to us throughout the weekend to answer any questions and she took great pride in our enjoyment of her home. She also provided us with a highly informative area guide with tons of informed tips and local information that I never would have known. Thanks to Lisa and we hope to be back soon!

I had the pleasure of staying at your house last weekend for a friend's birthday. You have a beautiful place and we had a really good time. I told my friends about your house and she is interested in renting it for a girls week in August. We can't wait to come back and stay again...you are the best!

In lieu of Christmas gifts, our family of 13 gave ourselves a weekend getaway at this beautiful house in Southold. It was beyond our imaginations and couldn't have asked for anything better. The accomodations were beautiful, we had fun cooking together in the large kitchen where we were all able to mingle and create wonderful memories. We all individually enjoyed the master bathroom with the warm sauna and steamer while listening to a wonderful variety of tunes. We were also able to visit Sparkling Pointe Vineyard as we was very close in distance. The view was also outstanding and we enjoyed waking up to deer in the yard. It was very spacious, comfortable and homely. We cannot wait to go back. A great weekend to remember.

Hi Lisa,
We really enjoyed our stay, terrific home and what a sunset we had last night - about a 9.7 on the sunset scale, and having grown up in Hawaii, that's saying something. Great cookbooks, I see you were at Moulin de Mougin from your Roger Verge cookbook (I ate there in October), have you ever tried cooking the lobster fricasee? It's outstanding, particularly with fresh lobsters from the Southold Fish market - that place is a great find by itself.
We'll be leaving for Manhattan around noon today, oh well all good things must come to an end....some comments:
Rubbish - have separated non recyclable in yellow bags from recyclable, we rinsed everything that is recyclable and put in the back barrel so no foul odors etc. Everything worked fine, I will share your VRBO website with other Revlon execs if they want to come out of the city for a long weekend, we really enjoyed the quietness of the whole area which is a little different than from what you find in the Hamptons. Although Sag Harbor was very quaint.
Never went to a winery, too darn cold! The Southold meat market had great veal chops and short ribs, USDA Prime, unreal.
Thanks again and hope to stay here again in the not too distant future.

Breathtaking home, wonderful host, a peaceful stay.

Review submitted: January 5, 2011   Date of arrival: November 24, 2010

Our family rented this magnificent Southhold home during Thanksgiving week in 2010. We read the reviews, saw the pictures, and were pleasantly surprised to see that the home only exceeded our expectations. The house is large enough to accommodate a large family comfortably with fantastic shared space, yet has enough private nooks to enjoy the peaceful and scenic views. This is a "smart" house, with ability to pipe music throughout from iPods and Rhapsody, enjoy TV and movies in surround sound, and enjoy great wi-fi access. The views, however, will leave you little reason to do much more than gaze out the windows in the open-floor plan great room. Lisa immediately treated us like we were old friends and although we are Long Island locals, we greatly enjoyed the detailed list of nearby restaurants and actives that she personally crafted for her visitors. This a a great place and we intend to visit again.
