A wedding and vacation combined

Lakeside Retreat is the best location on the lake. Easy access to so many things we were able to visit lots of wineries, go to Corning Glass where we made our own glass ornaments, walked Watkins Glen beautiful captivating gorge (nature at its best, layered cliffs, waterfalls etc.), toured Belhurst Castle and much more.

Our main reason for going to Seneca Lake was to attend our grandson’s wedding. We decided to go for the week and include a vacation with friends. It was a little intimidating as to where to stay having never been to the area before.
What a pleasant surprise to find the home with everything possibly needed and more. Fully equipped kitchen and I mean fully equipped. We had steaks from the grill on outside patio area, breakfast in the kitchen nook, and other meals in the dining area. Bathrooms had extra supplies for anything left home.

We all enjoyed the many included water toys, kayaking, paddle boating water rafts etc. There were life jackets for us and extra water shoes. We took our own fishing gear, but I noticed that was also there.

Mimosa’s on the pier in cushioned lounge chairs for the sunrise, and roasting hotdogs around the fire ring watching the moon reflect off the lake.

The wedding and reception was beautiful and went well. We also had a great vacation.

Thank You Abi & Winton

Owners response: We are always pleased to share our home with others. We take pride in our home and find great joy in knowing that our home brings peace and relaxation to others as well. We were married at Belhurst as well and found Seneca Lake to be the perfect spot for our second home. We love the seasons and rent year round ... please visit our home when you are able. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Something for Everyone

This lakeside retreat was even lovelier in person than in the pictures. Three generations of our family were able to enjoy a week together; grandparents, two 30-something couples, a toddler and a nine-year old. The eight of us had plenty of room, and it never felt crowded thanks to the spacious floor plan, the 4 bedrooms, and all of the different outdoor spaces- the dock, the beach, the boathouse, the shady bbq patio out back, the hilltop patio facing the lake. The owners were always available if we needed them, and gave us a local contact in case we needed immediate assistance, which of course we didn't, because the owners had already thought of everything! We love the outdoors, and were thrilled that we could bike or run to the Keuka trail, kayak right out back, and take day trips to nearby state parks. Robert Treman S.P. was a special treat- we jumped off a diving board and swam at the base of a gorgeous waterfall, on a well-guarded beach with a shady picnic area. We visited many wineries, our favorite was Shalestone (we love reds!), and we were able to kayak to Miles Winery and Brewery! The brewery trail was a treat, and we loved Rooster Fish Brewpub which was a 20-minute ride on 14 South to Watkins Glen. The area has so much to offer, but we would have been content to stay at the serene property all week, where we watched birds through the binoculars that were waiting for us by the picture window, did yoga on the serene dock at sunset or sunrise, cooked huge family meals (always plenty of extra place settings in this home!), toasted s'mores and told spooky stories by the campfire, and read in the lakeside hammock. We even brought an 8-person float and anchored it out back all week, so we could enjoy the refreshing and clear waters of Seneca Lake as a family.
This home has many unexpected necessities like trash bags, toilet paper, hand soap, dish and laundry detergent, cleaning supplies- every cabinet is full of all of the things you need to take excellent care of this home. All of the beds were comfortable, the pillows and linens were fresh and clean-smelling, and the gracious owners have provided all of the ingredients for a vacation that can be whatever you want it to be!

Our Lakehouse Vacation Retreat

This is our 3rd year at this lovely home. The owner's have carefully and thoughtfully provided even the smallest items so you're vacation is carefree. The air conditioning is great, the hot water always perfect for those relaxing and refreshing showers, the location is wonderful both for wine tasting and sightseeing. The view of beautiful Seneca Lake is just magical as was the magnificent rainbow we experienced so even a little rain brought joy. My little granddaughter loved the fishing as well as the adults. We were 6 ranging from age 62 to 4 years old and this home had something for everyone. Games, movies, books, great television, boat lift, lakeside firepit for chatting and smore making. The boathouse so well equipt is just perfect. We just love it. I would recommend this home to anyone wanting peace, privacy, great nearby restaurants, great wineries. So many things to do and so little time to do them all makes you want to make this home away from home an annual treat! Enjoy!

To all our repeat renters... we welcome you back... and to those repeat renters we haven't connected with yet... we welcome you too!

Family Vacation

This was my first attempt at a Family Vacation. There were eight of us...my two adult children and their spouses and three grandchildren...ages 15, 8 and 4. The house was spacious enough that we never felt crowded or underfoot of each other. Plenty of room for sleeping and having two bathrooms was a luxury. We all enjoyed swimming off the dock, fishing, kayaking. All our meals were eaten together at the large dining table - wonderful kitchen space as well as an outside grill.

We took a day trip to Watkins Glen and all hiked together. The adults took a few wine tours which were within a short driving distance - 5 to ten minutes at most.

At night we had a fire in the fire pit and sat around telling stories, laughing, cooking marshmallows.

All in all it was fantastic! I give this rental my highest recommendation.
