Perfect Place to Stay

My family and I had the best time in New York City this past week. We also stayed in this rental last December, 2011. Abi is GREAT! If you want a very nice and reasonable place to stay, this is the place. Great restaurants and shops all around and a few parks. Night life is great for the younger people. Subway is only a few blocks and the area is very safe and quiet.

Thank you Abi for everything and our family will be back soon:)

Me and my family were very lucky to find this apartment among the thousands advertised on the internet. Nice furniture, very nice beds and linens, very clean and comfy. Note, however, that it's a NYC apartment, so do not expect lots of space. Abi is a great guy, very friendly and made everything easy. I could not expect better.

Thank you Abi, all was Ok

Appartement très fonctionnel pour sa superficie, chambres petites mais avec lits "king size" et placards. Chauffage qui fait du bruit au démarrage mais efficace ainsi que la climatisation. Niveau d'équipement suffisant.
Propreté irréprochable (sols, sanitaires et linge).
Emplacement géographique très appréciable : proche de 2 lignes de métro, rue calme, quartier sécure et très commerçant avec pleins de restos et bars.
Le manager Abi est très à l'écoute et réactif : il peut se charger de vous trouver un taxi qui vient vous chercher et vous emmène à l'aéroport. Il nous mnaquait un ustensile de cuisine, il nous l'a procuré dans les 15 minutes suivantes, il est venu le lendemain soir voir si tout allait bien.

Nous recommandons tout à fait cet appartement plutôt pour une famille avec deux enfants.

Exellent Place

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

we stayed (3 people) for 6 days in the apartment. From the first contact till we left everything worked out perfect. Abi, the manager did everything he could to make our stay even more perfect. He is always there when you need him. He cares about everything and helps you immediately no matter what question you have and very important you reach him every time. We stayed in first class hotels in New York before but the service was not better than the service we got from the manager of this apartment (Abi). The apartment has everything you need, from dishwasher to washing machine to dryer. There are a lot of towels, dishes and so on. You really feel like you where at home. The area is perfect too. The subway, buses, supermarkets, restaurants are around the corner. You can reach everything you need in maximum 5 minutes walk. The area is also save and quiet. The apartment was very clean, even cleaner than the most hotels in New York are. So many thanks to Vacation Rentals from Home Away and our special thanks to Abi who is really the perfect apartment manager. If someone who wants to book has a question to someone who stayed there before feel free to contact me.

Perfect!

Perfect! Great neighborhood, gracious host, Roomy enough (considering it is New York) for two small families with children. Half a block from the playground, so the kids could get their wiggles out while the adults got ready. I will stay here again next time for sure...Just a word of advice, don't expect to do much cooking, the kitchen is really an afterthought, but it was nice to have for eggs and toast anyway, which is more than we could have done in a hotel. Who would bother with a hotel, anyway?

Great NYC stay

We use reviews to help us plan our accommodations, so this is our honest review.

To begin, Abi, the contact for this unit, is a very nice young man and easy to communicate with. He was always courteous and helpful with any questions, provided quick responses via email and gave good information about the area and transportation. We liked the neighborhood and ease of walking to restaurants and other sights we planned to see. The front steps are steep; anyone who has trouble with stairs might find them a challenge. The unit utilizes space well and we did NOT find it to be too small as another reviewer had said. Our friend that stayed with us grew up in NYC and mentioned that for NY, it was better than many he has seen and thought the updates done were excellent. I would definitely be comfortable there for an extended stay. We did hear other people in the building come in late at night and they were somewhat loud, but have experienced that in hotels, too, and have come to expect it in any major city that has a night life.

The photos were accurate. The unit and building were very clean. The beds were amazingly comfortable (better than some hotels). The bathroom was updated and includes a hairdryer for guest use. It is a little narrow; someone who is very large might find it small.

It was exactly as we had hoped. We were able to sit in the main living room, have a glass of wine and snacks bought at the corner store, and relax in our own private space before going out for dinner. Each couple had their own bedroom, and in the morning, the early birds could sit and visit, while the others slept undisturbed.

It was a great value for a quick budget getaway to see our friends before their return to Germany. We would all highly recommend this unit to vacationers wanting something a little different than the standard hotel stay. It gives you a feel for real NYC living.

Easy living in New York

4 stars out of 5 to Govindas apartment in New York. The kitchen-table was a little bit too small and could also have some more chairs. We were informed there were 8 beds but there was only 6. That is corrected in the advertisement now. Otherwise we are very pleased with our stay at Govindas. Very good standard with cooker, coffemachine, washingmachine dryer, portable PC for loan, free WIFI, TV + a very nice and calm area to live in. And, Abi, the manager was a very nice person, he was more like a friend to us!

Wonderful apartment

The apartment is clean and has everything you will need for a stay in New York.(The beds are very comfortable). The street is quiet and close to the subway. There are many great places close by. I appreciated the manager Abi, he was willing to answer my questions and help when needed. I will stay again!

Disgraceful misleading advertising

We are two couples and arrived at this apt to find that the size did not match the property advertised on webpage and wonder who sent in the other four reviews. We
did a quick measurement and the two bedroomed apartment is approx half, and I mean
half, the size of 700 sq feet advertised. We find this disgraceful, as we booked and paid huge money in good faith and feel we were deceived as did not get what we paid
for. The double bed was up against a cold brick wall and bed could only be accessed from one side as room was 7' x 10' and bathroom was so small that the fittings stuck
out obstructing the door and passageway to enter shower was far far too narrow and we are not huge people. All in all, we found we got very bad value for money, as our
main reason for choosing an apt, rather than hotel, was the extra space that this apt
was advertised as having. What a disappointment, as we were in New York for a week and wanted a degree of comfort for our stay. Would appreciate a response to
this email.

Perfect NYC stay

I highly recommend this apartment. We arrived to find it clean, modern and well equipped, exactly as described. The beds were very comfortable. Abi was extremely efficient and helpful, replying to emails promptly. It was the perfect size for a family of 4. The location is convenient and interesting with shops, restaurants and subway within easy walking distance.

Perfect Location! Great Landlord!

Went to NYC with another couple and stayed at this apartment. It was a great location that was walking distance to a lot of things that we did ie. shopping in Soho, Katz Deli, Russ & Daughters, Momofuku, etc. It was super clean, beds were comfortable, and Abi the landlord was very kind and accommodating. I would DEFINITELY refer this location to anyone looking to stay in NYC and we will definitely be back.

Well, The apartament is new, very clean, with everything you need inside. It is located in the heart of east village, in a peaceful street. Next time in New York, i will be there again for sure. Congretulations to the owners.

Amazing!

We had a great time staying at this wonderful apartment! We, a group of five young adults, were left with a glowing review of the place: the location was great, the apartment was clean, fresh, highly functioning and spacious, and the staff were beyond helpful. Coming equipped with internet, a television, a washer and dryer, a fridge, stove, microwave, toaster, and even a dishwasher, all the amenities were covered. We had no problems at all and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun trip to New York City.
