What a wonderful vacation home!
Iowa family
(Pleasant Hill, Iowa)
Review submitted: April 8, 2013
Date of arrival: March 15, 2013
Two families - four adults and six kids - spent a week in this home, and what a week it was! This was my family's third vacation tomthe Mississippi gulf coast in the past six years, and the third home we rented. This was the best of the three! Plenty of room, everything was clean and in good working order, and we had everything we needed. It was a week of warm, Mississippi hospitality and an awesome break from the Iowa winter. The only thing missing was the crawfish pie I read so many great reviews for!
We will come back, and when we do, I will call Turner. Great house!

We found the property to be as nice as the pictures and comfortable for our family. 2 adults and 6 children, ages 8-20. Once we looked around the surrounding area(s), we found much to do...New Orleans was a favorite as was Mobile. A great central location to visit local attractions. It would have been even better if the weather cooperated, but it was still a fun and relaxing vacation. The kitchen was beautiful and it was very helpful to have laundry on site!

Turner & Brandi - Thanks so much for sharing your home. We had the best weekend. Everything was perfect! The house was beautiful, clean, and had everything needed for a relaxing getaway. We loved sitting on the porch and gazing at the water, watching the mullets jump. We enjoyed the kayaking, crabbing, and fishing. We even had board games to play while it rained. Brandi's crawfish pie was the best we ever had. Can't wait to go back. You were so nice to work with! We will be back again & again. Mona, Jeff and the boys!

We haven't been here 24 hours and we cant wait to give a review.
If you are wanting quiet, quiet, quiet, then here is your place to stay in Gulfport. If you want clean and comfortable, then this is it! If you are looking for space inside and out, then this is definitely the place! Beardscove has a fabulous view and you won't be disappointed!
We arrived today to attend the 2nd annual Gulfport Music Festival and we founded a little touch of heaven hidden away on Beardscove. We were only here 30 minutes and our two teenage boys could not wait to cast their rods in water.... Caught three catfish on the first day! That's a good sign, we gonna have fun! Be gone cell phones & video games!
The house is beautifully designed, clean and nicely located. It is perfect for any family wanting to get away and enjoy the coast. The beach, grocery store, department store, pharmacy and restaurants are just 5 minutes away.
This house is going to be great for relaxing in the evening after a day at the beach. There is such an amazing view from the deck.... Oh my, there's even a deck off from the master's bedroom.
We plan to eat most of our meals at the house and the kitchen is perfect with stainless steel appliances, dishes, utensils. I love the simple furniture and the nook. The modern designed bathrooms are very clean and the laundry room is located right off from the kitchen. There is even cable tv & wifi in this little touch of heaven!
The owners are just a text or call away to answer any questions and they communicate to us quickly. The weather is prefect and we gonna hate to leave. We'll just have to come back!
Thanks for providing a great place to stay for a week.

Don't miss out on this beautiful home and wonderful owners. We stayed at their home for a couple of nights and believe me they were awesome. From the time we got there til the time we left we had the best time, and it is so close to everything that you would want or need. The best thing about it is that even tho you are close to everything, shopping, beach, etc..., when you get back to the house you feel like you are away from everything, it is quite and peaceful. You are right there on the water and the owners have a fire pit that you can enjoy in the evenings, oh and the fishing wow, just throw your line in the water and forget about work and the telephones. I would recommend this get a way to everyone, I know that we will be back!!! (To the owners, again Thank you so much)

My family and I stayed at this rental and it was beyond our expectations! The house was so roomy and had everything you could ever need. The people that had stayed before us broke the coffee pot and when we called the owners, they went out and purchased a new one for us.
Turner was a delight from first contact! Any questions we had about anything from fishing, where to eat and what to do he was always willing to answer and if he didn't know the answer he found out and called back.
We had a total of 9 people staying here, 4 adults and 5 children ages 8-17 and everyone had a great time and was extremely comfortable. Not only do they provide a clean, roomy, cozy home away from home, if you don't feel like cooking while on vacation, call ahead and have all your meals catered by them as well!
We will come again for sure!
Thanks again Turner and Family from the Gould's!

My family came to Gulfport for a week-long baseball tournament and chose to stay in your beautiful home. This house is fully furnished with everything you could possibly need from kitchen utensils to sheets and towels. What an adventure it was fishing from the backyard. We caught an array of critters including a 30 inch Red Fish, alligator, sting ray, crab and sheepshead. The best thing about the home is that you are literally minutes away from grocery stores, the beach and a spectacular restaraunt (Back Bay Seafood). If we are ever back in town we will not hesitate to stay again!!!!

I would like to thank Turner and his wife for allowing us to rent their wonderful home. We came to Gulfport for a soccer tournament Memorial Day weekend, and decided to rent a house instead of a hotel room. Great decision!! This house is beautiful, and completely furnished. During our stay, we were able to catch fish, and crab between games. We also had fun watching the two small alligators, that were swimming in the bay. If we are able to ever get back to Gulfport, this is definatly th place we will be staying!!!

Without a doubt, this was the best stay I have ever had in a vacation rental. The house is absolutely gorgeous. Everything was well supplied. In fact, it's the first time ever in a vacation rental for me in which there were enough pots and pans! The house is quietly tucked away, but is convenient to everything. You absolutely will not be disappointed staying here. If you vacation in the Mississippi Gulf, Beards Cove is THE place to stay. There is none better.

The house fit our needs to perfection and we enjoyed trying out seafood restaurants in the vicinity. We expecially liked the White Cap.
Everything was clean and we had everything we needed to have an enjoyable week. Thanks for a great place to meet and spend the week.

Our 10 day visit was a truly relaxing and very pleasurable experience. This is the place to stay if you are going to the Biloxi/Gulfport area. The home is large, impeccably clean, and beautifully appointed. It is completely equiped with every convenience. We felt instantly at home. The house is set on a large private lot that is blissfully serene and overlooking a place of great natural beauty, and yet the whole is very convenient to all of the many and varied pleasures of the Missississippi Gulf Coast. The views from the house and deck are truly memorable. Not only do we look forward to visiting again, but we will unhesitatingly tell all of our friends and colleagues to make this house and area a must on their future vacation lists. The owner is a pleasure to deal with, and the whole experience from first day to last has been flawless. This is one of those rare places that you leave with real regret and look forward to returning as soon as possible.

4 mom's+ 4 teenage girls + the dance studio owner in this house for a dance convention weekend = WONDERFUL experience!! We really enjoyed our brief time in your beautiful home. There was plenty of room, comfortable bedding, more than enough supplies, a great view and it was in a great location, for us. It has beautiful flooring, top grade appliances and the funiture/decor are far superior to the standard "rental". It was such a pleasant (and thoughtful) surprise to have your wife stop by with a crawfish pie! One of our mom's is a high school science teacher. She loved pointing out and identifying the wildlife out back. I only wished we had of had time to use the fishing poles you provided. I have to say, by far, the best moment was Saturday morning when we spotted 2 otter's playing and hunting for food in the water behind the house. We were almost late for our first class because of watching them! We arrived back to our homes at 2:30 this morning and it was such a WONDERFUL experience we are already planning our trip back to next year's convention =D

The house was beautiful, it is exactally as it appears in the pictures. We spent a 2 week Christmas Vacation and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. It was quiet and relaxing, very secluded and yet it is just minutes away from all the action. Our family of 5 and my parents stayed and there was plenty of room. Our children ages 8 and 9 loved playing outside, it was much better than being in a hotel. We felt like we were at home until you looked out the windows at the beautiful view. We had friends over for Christmas dinner and everyone fell in love with the home, the dinner was catered by Turner's catering company and it was delicious! They delivered it in the morning and it was a snap to put together. I couldn't stop telling everyone about it when we returned home. We had absolutly no disappointments.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Beard's Cove water front home. The place was clean and well furnished and the photo was accurat.
My wife is handiacped and with my son-in-law's assistance we easily carried her upstairs. Once she arrived upstairs she was able to manage her walker easily on the first floor.
I really enjoyed the fact that there was no through traffic and it was very quiet. I had the feeling of solitude especially provided by the marsh and far shoreline. No one is able to look at you ffrom the front or even the back due to a small inlet being located at the back entrance.
It was very calming to sit on the lower front deck and watch roosting redwing blackbirds stir with the morning sunrise. There must have been over 50 birds roosting there. They were far enough away that you did not hear their morning chorous. There were quite a few blue birds around in the evening.
The fishing was good off the bulkhead. My grandsons were delighted catching some very large hardheads.
I noticed a lot of bait activity in the bend of the cut located in front of the house. I often saw fish working minnows and shrimp there. I only wish I had known that turner had kayaks available. In fact I noticed a good concentration of bait around the entire peninsula that the house sits on.
I would certainly recommend this property to a friend or relative.
I look forward gto returning.

The property is fantastic, the owners are easy to work with and very hospitable, and we LOVED the "stock the fridge" and "casseroles to go" option! After traveling by air all day w/two kids, then driving to Camp Shelby to pick up my husband (for a 4 day R&R prior to deployment) it was SO nice to "come home to" food in the fridge and a DELICIOUS lasagna ready to stick in the oven!
The house was close to everything; airport, beach, restaurants, grocery...yet very private and quiet, perfect!
This was our first vacation rental experience...this is THE way to travel, especially with children!!!

We just spent a long Labor Day weekend at this home. It is easy to get to from the interstate, is super-comfortable, has amazing views and is on a beautiful waterway that is so close to the Gulf. We brought a double kayak and spent time in the marsh looking at beautiful birds and wildlife. We also brought our boat and took a quick trip out to Horn Island... really awesome. There is a big gas grill that we used with great joy. The grocery stores are literally 3 minutes from the door. Morning breezes on the front porch were my fav. Also, the beds are comfy... hot water all the time... everything worked. Happy, happy, happy.

This is a great place that seems like you're miles away from everything yet you're just right around the corner from everything you need. Being a traveling salesman, I stay in a lot of hotels. I happened to come across this place while on a trip where all the hotels were sold out. I'll come back here every time from here on out. It actually felt like I was on vacation. This place is a steal! For the price of an average hotel room, a family of four could stay here with extra room left over. I'll be bringing the family down here as soon as I get a chance. I highly recommend this place for not only family getaways but also traveling professionals. You won't be disappointed!

Yeah, I'm one of the owners....but this was my first "stay" at the home on Beard's Cove and I was impressed. While the pictures capture the view fairly well, you must see it in person to appreciate the breadth and scope of these Mississippi wetlands. There's quite a menagerie of wildlife to be enjoyed from the back deck. Various species of waterfowl frequent the bayou behind the house, nesting, preening, skimming the surface of the water. A small gator near dusk....a 3 or 4 footer, gliding through the bayou. A water snake slithering through the water. Mullet jumping along, chasing or fleeing who knows what. At night a flashlight reveals the red eyes of bullfrogs (among other things) peering from the rushes across the bayou.
Besides the free attractions on the property, the house is very convenient to grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, etc. We enjoyed shopping at Rouse Grocery Store and eating at the Blow Fly Inn.
Do yourself a favor and give this place a try. You'll be glad you did.

Wow... I can't even begin to tell you how nice this home was. Talk about "home away from home". We took the whole family (2 adults and 4 teens) to the coast for a family vacation. This place was so nice! It was in a quite neighborhood and the views are amazing. Close enough to shopping and the beach, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. After spending the days out on the beach it was so relaxing to just sit out on the deck... throw some steak on the grill and watch the the kids fish off the dock. My son caught a Red Fish the first 10 minutes we were there!! This place is awesome! Beautiful sunsets and all the wildlife you can imagine... birds, fish, rabbits, crabs, and alligators. So, get your camera ready! Great place to be in Gulfport/Biloxi. Thanks for such a great vacation.
