WE stayed at this family retreat with 8 adults and 4 grandchildren....18 months, almost 4, almost 7 and a 9 year old for 5 days. There was plenty of room to spread out and enjoy each other and the beautiful Bayfront. The description of the retreat ...photos were very accurate. The Retreat included many toys such as: beach toys for the kids, kayaks for the adults, boards, a ping pong table, bikes and games, puzzles, etc. The fenced in patio area was great for our children to play in at all hours of the day. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans dishes, etc. WE made many of our meals right at the Retreat. The property was clean and well-maintained. The neighbors had a dog that our grandkids would spend time daily petting her through the fence. We even took her for a walk on the last evening of our stay. Because this Retreat provided almost everything we really didn't have to leave the premises. We did go to the San Diego Zoo and found a coffee shop in Mission Bay that was nice but overall the Retreat was the place we wanted to be at. Nicole answered our many questions promptly and we would recommend this property to anyone. Thanks again for the lovely stay.

Our family of nine ranging from 6 months old to 75 years stayed at this location for almost one week. Everyone had something to do that was enjoyable and fun. The enclosed patio area was perfect for two toddlers to play in freely with the available toys, either with adults or while being observed from right indoors. They flew kites outside the fenced in gate on the beach. Some of the adults rode the bikes that were provided at the house. The convenience of the location was perfect for going to restaurants and to places like the zoo, sea world and a whale watch as well as markets. There were some glitches in trying to figure out the electric wiring in the house. Not issues of danger, but the inconvenience of some switches not working or not working consistently or not hooked up to where they should have been.
In general, this property was large enough for all of us and very conveniently located. We would recommend it to others.

Everything about this location was exactly as it was described. It came with more than enough amenities to keep everyone busy, and was large enough that we did not feel like we were on top of each other all weekend. It was perfectly situated right on the bay, and only one block from the beach, which gave us the best of both worlds. I live in the area, but still felt like I was on vacation. I would highly recommend this property to groups of all shapes and sizes. My family and I plan to return on an annual basis!

This is our first experience with renting a vacation home, plus doing it all online. The entire process of communication, contract, deposits, etc. was very timely & professional. We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and our group consisted of 8 adults, 1 three year old and 2 infants. I spent many hours over several weeks looking for the “perfect” house & chose Braemar because of all the positive reviews, home size, location, and photos. This home surpassed our expectations as it was well appointed, spacious, clean, and had more amenities than we ever imagined. The location is excellent and once you arrive, you never have to get into your car again if you don’t want to. Great location for relaxing and touring – close to many attractions. There were so many personal touches and information provided that we felt right at home.
Thank you for a wonderful vacation and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay in this home again.

This house gave us exactly what we needed. The sleeping, dining, cooking were more than adequate for our 14 person entourage; 8 adults and 6 children. The backyard is an entertainment center all by itself and kept adults and children very busy and happy. And then there's the access to the beach just outside the gate..... what a blessing when you have children/grandchildren ranging in age from 2 to 11. All the toys, bikes, paddle boards made for loads of fun. We also got to all the theme parks that are close by which made the kids very happy. We swam in the Pacific Ocean just two short blocks away and made good use of the shopping and restaurant availability. We all loved our stay at Braemar Lane and would not hesitate to do it again.

Our family of 16, ranging in age from 6 to 70, thoroughly enjoyed this house during our week stay. The location on Sail Bay is perfect for enjoying the water activity, and offers protection from the wind, so that you may take advantage of the wonderful yard space and all the toys that are generously provided. Even the teenagers put down their computers! Its proximity is a short stroll to the beach boardwalk and numerous restaurants. The house is very comfortable, from the beds, to the layout, to the well stocked kitchen. The pictures clearly depict this well maintained property, and the management company and owners made themselves available at all times. No one wanted this vacation to end. Recommended restaurant: World Famous. Excellent food, great view, and extremely well priced.

This house is the best located on the harbor. It has great access to the beach, bike paths, Catamaran Club, volleyball. It is also within a minutes to all of the local San Diego attractions.
The house comfortably accomodated our party of 10 and there was plenty of beach toys for all ages. We all had a great time and the house was perfect.

I found this wonderful bayside home to be everything I wanted and needed for a family vacation in SD.There is an abundance of living space to be enjoyed, as well as the outdoor patio and yard. I would have to say after spending 30 yrs. at vacation rentals at the beach, this property was by far the favorite of the whole family. Great parking, lots of toys, well stocked kitchen, beautiful view, comfortable beds, location--everything we needed. A beautiful home.

Our family of ten (parents, children and grandchildren) spent a wonderful week in this delightful home during a week of spring break in March 2012. The home and grounds are well designed, spacious and provide comfort and efficient meal preparation. The property is well equipped with kitchen, laundry and recreational accessories. The location allows ideal access to walks/runs and other activities around Mission Bay and easy access to the Pacific beach three blocks away, as well as to the freeway system, activities around San Diego and LaJolla. All members of our family would stay in this home again in a heartbeat. We are thankful that such a quality property with such warmth and charm was available for our stay.

Our family of nine has stayed at this address twice...both times very happily. Being right on the beach of the bay allowed our grandchildren immediate access to sand and water, but the fence allowed us control of their activity. The house is expansive and well equipped. But the real selling point is the toys: kayaks and a sail boat, ping pong table and several bicycles, children's beach toys, towels and chairs...so many things to do for both children and adults. It's a great place for far flung family members to gather and enjoy.

This is our family's second year renting this wonderful home. Our 3 young children have so much fun in San Diego that it has become an annual trip for us...and this home is our preferred place to stay. Beach toys, bikes, kayaks, hot tub...it's all there. The home has beautiful beach and bay views from the floor to ceiling living room windows. The kitchen is very well equiped and the house is big enough for large family gatherings but is still cosy enough that a family of 5 won't feel lost in the place. Mission / Sail Bay is a terrific place for young families with lots of activities - on this trip we visited the USS Midway, San Diego Zoo Safari, and multiple trips to shop in La Jolla. Plus, Disneyland is close enough to visit on a day trip. A short stroll down the boardwalk is a great little playground for the kids. Lot's of great cafe's and restaurants in the area. The Catamaran Resort & Spa is 100 feet down the beach so if you need some pampering, they will take care of you. 3 Minutes further and you are watching the surf break on Mission / Pacific Beach. We will be back again in 2012.

I was so happy to have found this vacation rental. The description was truly accurate in all aspects. The photos give a clear view of what the home is really like. The home is even better than described. With the fully open floor plan our group never felt crowded. It is a nice family home that is kid friendly and comfortable as well as clean and very well maintained. The few times I had questions the owner responded quickly and politely. The past two years the owner has alway called himself just to check in and welcome us. I have recommended this property to friends and family.
There are so many things to do around this home: Sea World, Belmont Park, fishing in the bay or just heading to the beach for the day. The kids had fun kayaking. Everything you could possibly need or want is available for use. Every night we enjoyed the 10pm perfect view of Sea World's fireworks. Once you're at the home there is hardly a need for a car. Bikes are available for use to get around. The grocery store and Starbucks are within walking distance. Good Time Charlies is a great family casual restaurant that is walking distance. Bird Rock Yoga Studio is close by too.
We will definitely be back next year which will be our third year and we can't wait.

The best thing about this house is really feeling like you are "at home" during your stay. This house has all the things you forget you'll miss until they aren't there, like high quality sheets and fluffy towels, plenty of pots and pans and sharp knives, and nice but comfy furniture. The communal inside spaces and the fenced yard that leads out to the beach are wonderful hanging out spaces. There are lots of extras, like kayaks, beach toys and towels, umbrella, a basketball hoop, bikes, and a nice jacuzzi. There is a child-size table for kiddos, a high chair and a nice stroller. The house is clean and well-maintained. It was a real home for many years and the owners have left it feeling that way for their guests. It is clear that the owners get pleasure out of guests enjoying what was once their beloved family home. You can't go wrong in staying here if the homey feeling is what you're after. This was our third house in three years, but this will be the one we keep coming back to.

Our group of 9 people had a great time the entire week spent here. The amenities were plentiful, a very clean and spacious home and outside play area. We felt totally comfortable having our young toddlers outside with minimal supervision as the area was very secure being fully enclosed with view fencing. Beds were very comfortable, plenty of beach toys, fully equipped kitchen, and plenty of parking (very hard to come by in San Diego!) Nearby restaurants, shopping and parks. We also enjoyed the jacuzzi tub each evening. Would definitely recommend to others and gladly return in the future.

This property was awesome! Our family had such a great experience while staying here. It was so nice to have a "home away from home" atmosphere. The gated yard was so nice, especially for keeping our 2yr.old grand-daughter safe. We felt so safe and secure! The yard was one of the most beautiful yards all along the bay area. Very well equipped with water "toys", beach towels, bikes to take along the boardwalk, everything we seemed to need for a day at the beach. To have the beach and boardwalk right outside the gate was spectacular! We truly felt like we had died and gone to "heaven" for our vacation. The house was perfect for our family. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and on the BBQ outside. The hot tub was an added bonus as well.
Spent 2 days at Sea World that was only 5 minutes away. Everything we wanted to do was so close. Grocery store, restaurants, shopping, Belmont Park, so convenient!
We are already trying to figure out a date for our 2012 San Diego trip. We will definately be booking this place again!!! I would highly recommend this home to any family that wants to have a great vacation experience.( I'll never stay in a hotel in San Diego again!!)
*Nicole (property manager) was very helpful also and was very prompt with emails and phone calls!
It was awesome!!!!

Our family of eight stayed at the Braemer Bayfront Home recently. The property is amazing and the home was very clean and well maintained. I loved the original mosaic tile entry and the retro master bath! We enjoyed the spaciousness, the availability to Sail and Mission Bay and the accessibility to Mission and Pacific Beaches. Wonderful restaurants are within walking distance. The Bahia Bell Paddleboat picks up next door at the Catamaran Hotel. For $10/adult, it is an amazing opportunity to get out on the Bay during the evening. Directly across Sail Bay(within walking distance) is the Mission Bay Aquatic Center that offers all sorts of water activities with lessons if necessary. The Braemer Rental provides four beach cruiser bikes that were utilized daily. We also enjoyed the two kayaks, ping-pong table and basketball hoop. The jacuzzi felt so good after playing hard every day.
This is the perfect vacation home for a large family or three couples who want to relax on the quieter Bay side or party hardy on the Ocean side. With easy accessibility to the airport, beaches, downtown, the San Diego zoo, Marine World, PetCo Park and many more attractions, Braemer Bayfront Home is the ideal vacation get-away.

We loved the house and the location. We have two young boys (ages 5 and 6). The house is very spacious and perfect for a family. Plenty of toys for the kids and the Beach in the back yard! Ideally located to all major attractions in San Diego. Sea World, the Zoo, and other major activities within 10-15 minutes. Easy to drive to all tourist destinations. Huge backyard with ping pong table, grill, hot tub, and perfect for outside dining and enjoying the Mission Bay weather. Free bikes too. The Catamaran hotel is next door where you can rent fishing poles, bikes, boats, sailboats, waterbikes and enjoy their nice restaurant. Plenty of great restaurants within 6 blocks to 2 miles. Downtown San Diego 10 minutes away. La Jolla 10 minutes away for beautiful sunsets. This is the perfect place for vacation!

Also, couldn't believe how many kid items there were here, both kids loved it! The shovels were the highlight. All of the directions for everything were very helpful.

My family experienced a wonderful stay! The large gated back patio and yard area was just perfect for our grandchildren to play safely while we enjoyed the view of the bay. We biked over to a nearby playground one day and headed out to the zoo another. The day that it rained all day which I understand is very unusual-my daughter located a wonderful indoor play school just a couple of miles away. Our only regret was that we did not have time to stay longer. We hope to return again. Thank you for all your assistance and we found the information book that you have placed in the home very helpful and up to date.

We were looking for a 10 day get-away (from the cold). Traveling with young children so convenience, space, location, beach access, amenities, and of course price were all important criteria for us to consider.
Nicole made the whole process move quickly (very quickly in fact). I emailed at 10:30pm and she returned my email within 5 minutes with all the pertinent info. She exceeded our expectations in making our first VRBO experience positive. She has even put together a comprehensive guide to the Mission Beach, San Diego attractions and her recommendations are spot-on so I won't bother going into detail here.
The house is spacious, well appointed, has a beautiful yard, is centrally located (right on the beach in Mission Bay) and 2 blocks from Pacific / Mission beach. The home is exactly as represented on the listing - no wide angle lenses required...the place is massive and could easily accommodate a couple of families with kids, and grandparents.
There are loads of beach toys for young and old...pull the kayaks to the bay and go for a cruise. SeaWorld is literally 3 minutes away. Disneyland is 1.5 hours away. Coronado is 20 minutes. Surfing is a 2 minute walk from your door.
This experience changed the way our family looks at "family vacations". This was the most civilized vacation we've had in years - far from the National Lampoon's variety we'd grown accustomed to. San Diego is a terrific family destination. We will be back in 2011...and we know where we are staying. This beach home offers terrific value for what you get in return.

This rental was more than what we expected. When you walk through the front door you are at home immediately. It is very homey, comfortable and clean. You name it and this beach house rental has it. The kitchen is fully equiped for entertaining of all kinds. The outdoor living space is gorgeous and very relaxing. Parking is excellent. Once you get here, you are within walking distance to restaurants, grocery store, the ocean and any number of little shops. The bay boardwalk right behind the house is wonderful for walks, bike rides, playing in the sand & water or just relaxing on the patio and enjoying the wonderful view. I would definately recommend this rental to relatives and friends, of which I already have.

We just returned from our stay in beautiful Mission Bay with a family of 13. I have to say, the house is all it sais it is and more!
There are so many positives, space doesn't allow. The location is great, everything's a bike ride away.
The home comes equipped with every toy imaginable...for little ones up to adults. The patio area is beautiful, with plenty of seating for a large group. I brought many things on this trip that I didn't need to bring, because the house had it all. Everything was well maintained and clean...and I'm hoping future renters are considerate of that & keep it that way!
I also liked that the home allowed plenty of parking, so we never had to fight for spots on the street. Also liked the security of locking gates in front and also on the bay side. We had 4 kids along all under 2, so this house worked perfect with little ones as there was plenty of room for them to roam.
And Michael & Liz were more than helpful, and just a phone call away if we had questions.
We are definitely returning next year!!
