Incredible Stay!

Our group of 15 loved staying at the cabin. Jane and Ted were extremely helpful in accomodating our group for the weekend and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The kitchen was ready-to-use and was full of everything our group needed in order to cook for such a large group. The scenery at the cabin is beautiful. Our group especially enjoyed hiking in the Tonto Natural Forest, which is only a 10 minute drive from the cabin.

Unforgettable stay at Eagles Retreat!

We had our best Christmas ever at Eagles Retreat! The house is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by windows through which we enjoyed the beautiful scenery from just about anywhere in the house.
Our family of 13 (9 adults and 4 kids) was able to experience both warm and cozy moments (movie and hot chocolate by the fireplace) and cool fun and adventure (sliding down the snow hill, volleyball in the snow, ping pong, basketball) all without leaving the property. If you wanted to, you could literally not leave the house throughout your entire vacation; anything you might need Ted and Jane put at your disposal to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
It was truly an unforgettable time. Thank you Ted and Jane!

We really enjoyed the Eagles Retreat

Our family had a lovely time at the Eagles Retreat last weekend. Jane and Ted were absolutely wonderful to work with. They welcomed my numerous phone calls asking questions ranging from the location of each bedroom to if we needed to bring our own towels. Even though we arrived later than expected, they waited for us so they could show us how all the amenities worked and make sure we knew where everything was.

The house was spacious and beautiful, every room had large picture windows with views for miles in every direction. The yard was huge and had plenty of places for the kids to play in and explore, the neighboring cabins were far enough away that you felt very secluded and had complete privacy. Displayed inside was an assortment of unique and intricate decor, which was evidence of their many travels considering each room had a different theme from various other regions of the world.

We took a day trip to Fossil Creek which was spectacular. The water was crystal clear and made for excellent swimming, the older kids were even jumping off the rocks into one of the swimming holes as it was very deep with no obstructions. I highly recommend taking this trip if you have a truck or SUV, but probably not the best idea for a smaller car.

All in all we had a wonderful stay and will definitely return to the Eagles Retreat in the future. Thanks again for being such wonderful hosts!

Best weekend ever

My family of nine decided to spend Easter weekend in Strawberry at the Eagles Retreat. When we arrived we were blown away at how big the cabin was and how peacefull it was. We had more than enough room. The kids enjoyed playing ping pong, basketball and we were able to sit together in the livingroom playing boardgames and darts. The kitchen is equipped with every appliance you can think of. My grandchildren had a blast using the intercom system. If you like horseback riding you are only minutes away from Besty Ross Acres. The rental process went very smoothly with no glitches or surprises, Ted and Jane were always avaliable to answer any questions I had. We plan on coming back in the winter so the kids and go sledding in the front yard. Thank you Ted and Jane for making our Easter a memorable one. Sheree and Family

Do NOT pass this place over - SO worth it!

What an absolutely wonderful get away! The home is very well laid out, comfortable and has every amenity you could ask for. You can easily fit 4 adults and 4 kids with room left over. Three families is no stretch at all, you won't come close to tripping on each other. PLENTY of local attractions if you have even 1/2 an outdoor gene. Hiking, horses, quads, plenty of creeks...

More of a homebody/romantic? Incredible sunsets out of (BOTH) perfectly positioned living/great rooms, fireplaces to keep you warm, comfy beds, 290 degree porch with views on every side, bubbly waterfall you can hear inside (not that I can imagine a better sound than the constant light breeze through the pines), Dish for a curled up movie or music to dance in front of the fire.

Kitchen? Oh yes! Everything in working order and SPOTLESS (as was the entire home!). I can't speak for what a typical stock is, but the fresh fruit was a wonderful touch! Extra fridge for beer/food for larger parties? Yup. BBQ? Yup. Missing a darn thing? Nope.

Plenty of places to eat out if cooking is to daunting after a long day. MamaJoes Italian is maybe 1.5 miles down the road...I can recommend their Pizza without hesitation, best I've had in YEARS! Check their hours...Lesson learned, you might just want to walk their and back, its hard to stop eating when its THAT good!

Jane and Ted were a breeze to work with, called us to make sure we were ok when running late up the mountain, warmed up the home, greeted us with bright lights and brighter smiles, walked us thorough, and left a number to reach them (not that there was a need).

If you are staying in the Payson area (like...+/- 50 miles) Eagles Retreat should be at the top of your list! I know I'll be back...and booking early! the rest of the state is going to find this place!

Absolutely incredible!

Our family of five just returned from an incredible week at The Eagle's Retreat. You couldn't wish for more personable hosts than Jane and Ted, and the setting of this spacious, well-equipped house, backed by the national forest, couldn't be better. After waking up to a large herd of elk meandering nonchalantly behind the house one morning, we went on a fantastic horse trek with Rick at Betsy Ross Acres, and the next day we hiked two of the exciting trails at the Natural Bridge Park. When it rained, we played ping-pong, board games, watched TV and used the wifi to catch up with friends and work. Finally, when the snow came, we found ourselves in a true winter wonderland. Thanks to a closet stocked with coats and gloves, and a pile of large inner tubes, we sledded for hours down the slope immediately outside the front door. Thank you, Jane and Ted for everything; you are wonderful!
