An incredible family vacation!!!

Review submitted: April 1, 2012   Date of arrival: March 10, 2012

We have been home now 2 weeks from Villa Cecillia and constantly find ourselves remembering our week, looking at pictures and talking about what a great family holiday we had. We were initially going to shop for our groceries and bring them on the ferry but last minute had Chrischelle shop for us. I would absolutely not do it any other way. We are a family of 5 and with our luggage and the added groceries (plus trying to keep meat cold) would not have been an enjoyable way to start the trip. Chrischelle did a fantastic job picking up everything on our list (and it was a long one!). Chrischelle was also very helpful before we arrived as I had emailed her many questions.
The villa is incredibly beautiful just like the pictures! It is very spacious, open, has a gorgeous kitchen and stunning views of the ocean. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived. We came to North Caicos to relax and spend lots of time together as a family. We loved the quiet but this location is definitely not for every family with kids 10-16 years old. There isn't really much to do but for our family it was perfect because it was exactly what we needed and expected. Our kids loved it!!
There were 2 families renting the villa beside us but lucky for us they were hardly ever on the beach. For our entire week we only saw the local fisher man and maybe 2 other people. Perfect for us!
We spent every day walking on the beach, snorkelling (mostly in front of the villa), reading, running (some of us!) and playing some games. We did walk a few times to 3 Mary Cays but it was rough the one day we tried to snorkel there. My husband and 2 boys had more fun snorkelling in front of the villa where they saw lion fish, coral, starfish, a stingray and many other smaller fish.
We only rented a car one day and spent the day exploring North Caicos and also Middle Caicos. Mudjin Harbour was very beautiful and really needs to be seen to be appreciated. We ate lunch at Danny's which was good and we were glad that we did. Also ate at Silver Palms Restaurant and we would highly recommend it. Delicious! Make sure you try the lime pound cake with lime glaze!
I have nothing negative to say about this villa, our holiday was perfect. You will not be disappointed if you go and I am sure you will come away with many wonderful memories.
Thank you so much to Dan, the owner, for sharing this incredible vacation spot. We would love to return!!!

Owners response: Hi Cathy: My wife and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you again for choosing the Villa Cecilia for your Caribbean vacation destination this year. Picture Perfect

Review submitted: April 13, 2014   Date of arrival: April 5, 2014

If you are looking for a wonderful relaxing vacation you can look no further. The Villa was excellent and the views outstanding. It was the best way to decompress and enjoy the water and sun and friends. The beach is one of the best we have experienced and it was rare to ever see anyone on it other than our group. I can't wait to come back!!! We made a lot of local friends which made our trip even more enjoyable.

Paradise Found!

Review submitted: April 10, 2014   Date of arrival: March 8, 2014

We spent a phenomenal two weeks at Villa Cecilia! We travelled with two school age children, and Grammie. The house was beautiful yet comfortable with a very good layout and flow which afforded spaces for both family time as well as quiet moments. The photos do not do it justice! We found there to be plenty of room for five people in the house and around the pool. The outdoor furniture was of high quality and well maintained. It was great having furniture both by the pool and on the beach, although a few more loungers would be nice.
The beach was beyond belief! It's by far the most beautiful beach we have been to in the Caribbean. Most days, we had it entirely to ourselves. The water was shallow, calm, and warm enough for the children to swim in without worries, yet still enjoyable for the adults. We saw very little sea life so we did not worry about the more dangerous ocean creatures, like sharks.
The Islands of North and Middle Caicos are fairly remote, although after some days, we developed a sense of familiarity. A car is a must. We found the Islands to be very safe and not once, did we feel at all unsafe. For those seeking many outings, these Islands may be a bit quiet. For us, they were perfect and we even cancelled our second planned outing to Middle Caicos because we were enjoying ourselves so much at the house.
Chrishelle, the property manager, is lovely. We had her stock the fridge prior to our arrival which was very helpful, especially for a two week vacation. She chose familiar brands so we didn't have any surprises. We had concerns that we would be lacking in meals as we are foodies. This fear was quickly alleviated once we discovered some of the local restaurants. Next time, we would plan less dinners at the house and go to the restaurants for our evening meals. Word of advice: most of the restaurants require you to make your reservation (and place your order) in advance, during the day. You cannot just show up at the Island restaurants in the evening.
Chrischelle also arranged a half day fishing trip for us. We had a terrific time, and our daughters are still talking of it.
We felt truly relaxed at the end of our two weeks, and were sad to be returning to the metropolis of Provo for a few more days before flying home.
We would absolutely recommend Villa Cecilia to anyone looking for relaxation and privacy. Thank you Dan and Joetta for sharing your paradise with us. We are already looking forward to our next vacation at Villa Cecilia.

Everything We Were Hoping For

Review submitted: January 2, 2014   Date of arrival: November 6, 2013

"We had the most amazing time at your home in N. Caicos. It was everything we were hoping for. Totally secluded and did not leave the property for 7 days and did not see another person except Chrishelle the whole time we were there. It was the perfect setting for our 2 and 3 year olds. You have a beautiful home and it was well kept with everything that we needed during our stay. Thank you for having the experience from arrival to departure be seamless and effortless."

Loved Villa Cecilia

Review submitted: July 10, 2013   Date of arrival: June 24, 2013

This was our first stay on North Caicos as we normally vacation on Provo. We are so glad we did! We are a busy family and prefer peace and quiet when we unwind. We certainly found that at Villa Cecilia. Most of our days were spend swimming and snorkeling. During our adventures we saw rays, great tropical fish, puffer fish, star fish, conchs, and even a sea turtle! During low tide there is a group of rocks in the cove directly out from the villa where baby tropical fish hide. This is an excellent place for younger kids to enjoy snorkeling and the water is about knee deep.
Every evening we were visited by a Yellow Crowned Night Heron who would land on the back patio and drink from the swimming pool! Amazing! (We named him Monty). Each morning we saw flocks of flamingos flying over on their way to the flamingo pond. It was all quite magical!
We also took a day trip to Middle Caicos and Mudjin Harbor which was a great adventure and also quite beautiful.
We packed non-perishable foods on our checked luggage and had Chrischelle buy our perishable goods before our arrival. KJ's Grocery on North has practically everything you could want, but is more expensive than the Provo grocery store. Chrischelle also arranged our rental car- it was all seamless!
I have not even talked about Villa Cecilia which is first rate accommodations! A biggie for me is a comfortable bed and these are excellent! The showers are great also!
The villa is situated on a cove with two other villas and that is within an area of beach stretching about 3 miles. There were other families there renting one and the owner was visiting another. We usually walked the beach by ourselves searching for coral, conch shells and sea glass.
If you have reservations about staying on North Caicos, let me convince you to do it! It was a little outside our comfort zone, but once we experienced it, we will never stay on Provo again. The seclusion and serenity and wildlife was ideal for our family! Every new day brought a new adventure!

A great two weeks at Villa Cecilia

Review submitted: April 10, 2013   Date of arrival: March 9, 2013

Villa Cecilia is a beautiful luxury villa in a pristine, remote paradise. The layout of the villa is quite well done and is very spacious for 6 occupants. The interior design and the furniture, finishes and fixtures are of high quality.

Breakfast in the screened in porch overlooking the ocean is a wonderful way to start the day. No doubt, after dinner over a glass of wine, your group will reconvene to the porch to reminisce about the day’s activities.

The beach is pristine and remote. It was very rare to see other people on the beach. We highly recommend an early morning walk towards Three Mary Cay. Keep your eyes open near the shore for star fish, rays and schools of fish. Bring your snorkel, the pelican feeding in the morning will give you a hint where the schools of fish are.

We recommend that you purchase your meat, coffe and fresh vegetable in Provo before you come over. There are some local stores on North Caicos but their supplies can be limited. The local liquor store is well stocked and is well priced.

The local restaurants are quite good, especially if you like fish or conch. The people of North and Middle Caicos are very, very friendly and are always eager to tell you about their home and to find out about yours.

Chrishelle, the Property Manager, was very attentive to our needs. On our arrival, she gave us a good idea of what local activities would occur during our stay. If you can, make sure you catch some of the local musicians. The local fishing is excellent and there is a good chance that you will catch a Barracuda.

Bring some bug spray for the evenings if you plan to sit outside.

If you are looking to leave the noise and hustle of the city behind you, in search of a tranquil and beautiful Caribbean setting, you must consider Villa Cecilia. In addition to “almost your own private island” you get to stay in a wonderful Villa.

Another great vacation at Villa Cecilia

Review submitted: April 3, 2013   Date of arrival: February 23, 2013

This is our second year staying at Villa Cecilia, and we had another memorable vacation! It is such a nice getaway where one can truly escape and focus on what really matters in life!! Chrischelle met us at the ferry and it was like seeing family. She remembered our boys and was quick to help us load all of our luggage into our rental car. A quick drive and it was to the house. It was just as we had remembered. The view was still as spectacular as ever!! The boys remembered "their" rooms from last year and quickly made themselves at home. We had Chrischelle stock the home with groceries again, which I would highly recommend. We also brought a cooler of frozen meats and other items, as well as an entire suitcase of supplies. Again we found that the house had plenty of dishwashing detergent, as well as some detergent for the washing machine. However, we also brought washing detergent so we could just wash instead of bringing so many clothes. The beach was as perfect as ever. There was nobody staying in the houses next door, so we pretty much had the beach to ourselves the entire week.

We enjoyed heading over to Mudjin Harbor and stopping for lunch at The Last Chance on our way back - I highly recommend stopping there. Howard was a gracious host. We also had lunch at the Barracuda Beach Bar - Clifford, the owner, is a delight to talk with. We spent some time at Three Mary Cays, but the seas were too rough for any swimming or snorkeling with our small boys (8, 6, and 3). And honestly, when having the beach at Villa Cecilia, we found that there was no reason to leave it!!

We did get bothered by no-see-ums this year -- we didn't get bothered by them last year. But we all got bit on our legs and arms. It wasn't a deal breaker, but I will definitely be prepared for next year. Also the drain in the second bathroom didn't work for taking a bath, but the shower worked. The other bathtub worked fine. We let Chrischelle know of this, and I'm sure it will be fixed for next time.

All in all, it was a perfect vacation! Leaving was so sad and my boys still talk about going to North Caicos and ask when we can go back. Until next year....

Maintenance issues mar quiet beach house vacation

Review submitted: March 27, 2013   Date of arrival: February 16, 2013

Villa Cecilia is an attractive house with a great view and a nice pool; it also has a terrific beach for sunbathing, swimming and walking. Unfortunately, the day our extended family got there, the air conditioning and fridge stopped working and were not repaired till more than halfway through our stay. There is a small wine refrigerator that we put some essentials in, but it was quite inconvenient for a large group. There were also a number of other aspects of the house not in good repair—dishwasher didn’t get dishes clean, blender broken, screen door handle broken and rattling in the wind, one of bedroom showers not working well, several lights burnt out in different rooms, etc—each one of which by itself wouldn’t have been a big deal, but the cumulative effect, combined with the larger problems, left us feeling that we did not get what we paid for. The property manager was apologetic and did what she could to get the AC and fridge repaired, but the owner offered no apology or compensation after our initial email detailing our concerns. When we contacted him more than a week after leaving, he was hostile and accused us of causing several of the problems.

Owners response: Dear Tiana:
I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you and your family may have incurred during your recent stay at the Villa Cecilia. I am sure you realize, on a remote Caribbean island, materials and labor are not nearly as accessible as they would be in the US. Never-the-less, Chrischelle and I responded immediately to your problems and had them repaired as quickly as possible and with as little inconvenience to you as possible.

What I am having real difficulty understanding is, even after we went above and beyond to resolve your maintenance issues, you state I was rude and did not offer an apology. That is simply not true. I never spoke to you directly at any time before, during, or after your stay. All of my communications regarding your stay was with your sister, Anneka. I offered her my sincerest apologies as well as agreeing to compensate your party for the minor annoyances you encountered. Anneka, for whatever reason, decided to decline compensation.
Over the past 3 years we have processed and serviced more than 100 bookings. During that period, we have received accolade after accolade regarding the Villa and our customer service and have never received less than 5 star reviews. Furthermore, I can assure all future guests that they can expect nothing less than the same excellent customer service all of our past guests have received.
Sincerely,
Dan & Joetta Silva

Amazing vacation!!!

Review submitted: March 18, 2013   Date of arrival: January 26, 2013

We had a really amazing stay at your beautiful house, Villa Cecilia.

The house itself is stunning and the perfect set up for the five of us. Our daughter enjoyed her own private pool and we all enjoyed our own private beach. We spent a lot of time walking toward Three Mary Cays, and even drove down there for some snorkeling one afternoon. Chrischelle was very helpful and knowledgeable and was able to get us some fresh Grouper so we could celebrate a birthday on the last night. We chose to have her supply the kitchen with groceries and she found us the most amazing (and largest) avocados we'd ever seen. We also found the grocery stores to have nearly everything we needed.

We found all the locals to be more than friendly and very helpful. When we had car trouble two residents came running to our rescue and fixed the situation immediately.

We explored North Caicos and ventured out to Middle Caicos for a day. Mudjin Harbor was a highlight.
We especially enjoyed the Last Chance Bar & Grill and even adopted a puppy that we met there. Yes, we found a puppy on your island and she arrived in Minnesota this past weekend. She's a 3 month old Pot cake and an absolute blast.

We really hope to make it down to North Caicos and Villa Cecilia someday. And we are strongly encouraging friends to head down there as well. You have a beautiful home there, with a beautiful setting on a beautiful island.

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home.
Sincerely,
Marc, Jenn, Skylar, Bogey and Luna

wonderful vacation

Review submitted: February 23, 2013   Date of arrival: February 2, 2013

we are just back from a wonderful vacation at villa cecilia , it really was our own private beach for the week , the beach was amazing the best Ive seen in the caribbean .. the house is absolutely beautiful , u dont need to leave the house as long as you have enough food and drink .. dont wait to shop on north caicos because there is nothing on north caicos you may not even get fresh milk .. so bring your food from provo .. we had a nice dinner at silver palms which is nearby but u have to pre order your food that morning and make your reservation , its on the dirt rd at the rotary near the house other than that there is nowhere else to eat on the Island that i would recommend ..Middle caicos was a nice day out worth a visit for sure ..chrishelle was great she was there for us with any questions , the wifi in the house is awful It really needs to be upgraded works now and again .. we got stranded in Turks because of storm in northeast so we had a really hard time trying to make arrangements because of the spotty wifi ...
my negatives : the house wasnt as cean as I wouldve liked it to be there was urine stains on bathroom floor and toothpaste stains in the sink obviously the bathroom wasnt cleaned .. the kitchen countertops werent cleaned either .. but when you pay 4000 a week for a house and pay 200 cleaning fee you expect to come in to a sparkling clean house .. and the screened in porch has one of the screens missing so some of us got eaten alive by bugs when we sat out there ..and we had no propane but chrishelle did take care of that when I brought it to her attention ... we also ran out of water after a few days ! but chrishelle did order water for us and we managed just fine it was only few hrs ...

bring as much as you can from home it is so expensive there ... but we had a vacation of a lifetime than k you so much for sharing your house with us Dan would love to return for my 50th ! .. you absolutely need a car ..

Owners response: Hi Rita:
Thank you so much for your glowing review. It is great to hear that you had "a vacation of a lifetime." However, I do want to address some of the off-putting issues you encountered.
First of all, my sincerest apologies, I was totally unaware of the situation until I read your review. Anytime a guest arrives and finds a problem we ask that they contact our property manager, Chrischelle, or myself immediately so we may resolve the problem as quickly as possible. Had we been aware of the cleanliness of the house, we would have sent the cleaning crew back immediately. In any case, they have been made aware of this situation and any future guests can rest assured that the Villa will be "sparkling clean" when they arrive.
I know that the storm in Northeast did have a residual effect on the weather here in the TCI (rain and high winds). We had problems here on Providenciales with our WIFI as well. So I know how frustrating that can be. Fortunately, it happens very in frequently. In fact, you are the first guest to ever mention having a problem with it. Never-the-less, I have contacted the satellite dish technician to come by the property and thoroughly inspect the satellite equipment to ensure that it is working properly. The screen has been repaired. Mesh was on order. It was installed as soon as we received it.
Finally, I am glad that you truly enjoyed your vacation at the Villa Cecilia and I can assure you and any future guests that you/they will not encounter any of these issues in the future. We pride ourselves on striving to provide our guests with the best Caribbean vacation experience.
Thank you again for choosing the Villa Cecilia as your Caribbean vacation destination.

The perfect spot to relax!

Review submitted: January 9, 2013   Date of arrival: December 24, 2012

Our family (2 adults, 4 kids) had an amazing week at Villa Cecilia! The house was clean, well-maintained, spacious, and ideally located on a gorgeous, quiet stretch of beach. The water is calm and blue, perfect for young children (and grown ups!), and we took lots of long afternoon walks. You don't need to leave, but if you want to explore, we had a couple of good meals at Silver Palm and an amazing day trip to Middle Caicos (Mudjin Harbor is idyllic, and Daniel's was delicious for lunch!). Chrischelle was very kind and helpful, and we highly recommend having her pre-stock the villa with groceries from the "main island" for your whole visit (if you run out of milk mid-week, you may be looking at boxed milk unless you want to venture to Provo for the afternoon!). We enjoyed cooking meals in the house, and eating on the large screened porch overlooking the sea. North Caicos is very quiet, so make sure that's what you're looking for -- we were, and we loved it!

Dream come true

Review submitted: November 27, 2012   Date of arrival: November 17, 2012

We had an amazing time at villa Cecillia. It is located on a long beautiful sandy beach which you will never want to leave.
Villa itself is nicely decorated, roomy even for 7 adults, very clean and comfortable. Large kitchen is well equipped. There are 2 more neighboring villas nearby but to our delight they both were empty.
Our favorite feature (after beach) was a huge screened porch with sea view. It is so relaxing!
Thank you owners for sharing with us your dream!

A week of Relaxation!

Review submitted: September 11, 2012   Date of arrival: August 18, 2012

My husband and 3 children and I stayed in the villa the third week of August and have been thinking about it since the day we left. The pictures on this site are exactly how the house truly is. It is everything we had hoped for. We had almost a week of absolutely perfect weather - the last day and a half we expreienced part of a tropical storm which was in fact quite exciting! One day we walked 2 miles down the beach without seeing another house or person. This is why we opted for this home. When the owner says "private island" he means it. The water was the most beautiful we've ever experienced. The house had everything necessary for our stay. Our children are 18, 17 and 12 and we are so happy that they experienced this trip with us. There is nothing commercial on this small island and finding a place to eat or pick up a few groceries is a bit difficult but again, exactly what we wanted. The few eating establishments we went to were all wonderful. The owners more than accomodating and quite friendly. Visiting middle Caicos was beautiful. The pictures we brought home and the memories are incredible.
This is definitely a rental for people who are looking for nothing but relaxation and quiet time. We had no other neighbors for the week that we were there which made the beach in our backyard "our" beach. I would rent this villa again in a heartbeat...thank you to Dan for allowing us to vacation in such a beautiful home.
ONE thing we did not do which I HIGHLY recommend for future renters is to have the home stocked with food before you get there. There were 2 small places on the island that we frequented, however it would have made our trip that much better....our bad for sure!!!

Great family trip

Review submitted: July 17, 2012   Date of arrival: June 26, 2012

This is a really great place. My wife and kids loved the outdoor pool and being right on the ocean. The ocean was very calm here allowing for great snorkeling. The beach was great as well with plenty of room to go for a long walk to explore. I would definitely visit again. The only thing I would recommend bringing in from Provo is groceries or working with the property manager Chrischelle to bring it in for you. She was fantastic and made sure our stay was the best. We will definitely be looking forward to coming back soon.

Review submitted: May 26, 2012   Date of arrival: April 28, 2012

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Villa Cecilia. The photos don't even do it justice. Best vacation ever! This location is perfect. What we were looking for was peace and seclusion and boy we got it! I think we saw 8 people all week on the beach. It was like we were on a private island. The beach was beautiful and the water clear. Chrishelle (the property manager) was extremely helpful. We even had some lost luggage at Provo airport and were frustrated until she saved the day. We cannot wait to return to North Caicos and to this beautiful house.

Very Relaxing Dream Beach Vacation!

Review submitted: April 8, 2012   Date of arrival: March 31, 2012

Our family of 5 (3 girls, ages 10, 8 and 5) had the time of our lives. The other houses were empty except for the last night of our stay so we had a very private beach for most of the week. Our family time together was wonderful; we rarely get to spend time with each other without the distractions of life, so this was a perfect vacation for us. Most of the time the ocean was very calm...like a kiddie pool, allowing us to relax while our kids swam for hours!

The only suggestions I have to improve the villa are:

1. Add a heater the the spa if possible. It would be nice to sit in it during the cool nights.
2. Add some more recreation options (kayaks, paddleboards, etc)

If you are considering renting this villa, my tips are:

1. Bring insect repellent. Most of the time the bugs are not a problem, but when they do start biting, you will know it.
2. There are no ATMs or banks on North Caicos or Middle Caicos, bring more cash or travelers checks than you normally would. The taxi from the airport to the ferry is around $18 per person and the ferry ride to North Caicos is about $25 per person (kids under 10 are a little less for both).
3. If you can, avoid arrival and departures on Saturdays, the airport is extremely busy on Saturday.
4. Be sure to visit Middle Caicos and take your swimsuits to Mudjin Harbour! Incredible waves! Have lunch at Daniel's Cafe. Daniel and his son were very hospitable.
5. Dards Grocery in Bottle Creek (about 20km away) is a nice grocery store and they take Visa/MC. KJ's in Whitby is nice as well and closer, but cash only).
6. Hit the Barracuda Beach bar. Awesome views and the owner was very polite.

Great week in paradise!

Review submitted: March 9, 2012   Date of arrival: February 25, 2012

What a wonderful week we had at Villa Cecilia. We were anxiously anticipating our trip, and a bit worried about the more recent reviews on the home. However, our fears were unfounded. We did not see any evidence of rodents. And the privacy issue was not a point. There was one other couple staying in the house next door. But most of the time we were the only ones on the beach. And considering that typically one stays in resorts, seeing 1 or 2 people througout an entire day is like being on your own private island.

The house was decorated beautifully - granite countertops, comfortable beds and pillows, a huge and well stocked kitchen, and an astounding master bed and bathroom. The views from the home were so beautiful. It was wonderful to wake up every morning and see the turquoise ocean from the bed. Their was plenty of room for our family (three boys, aged 7, 5 and 2). And having the direct TV was useful, for when the boys needed some downtime watching all of their favorite shows. The screened in porch was great -- we could eat our meals without being bothered by bugs, and it allowed my 2-year-old to safely be outside without having to be at the pool. We had Chrischelle stock the home with groceries before we arrived. However, there were plenty of spices, olive oil, hand and dish soap already in the home. The blender worked perfectly for our afternoon pina coladas.

We spent most of our time at the beach -- I will warn you that you need to wear shoes when walking to the beach, as their are sand burs throughout the island. But once you get on the beach there are no problems. The beach is to die for. Since it is in a cove it is protected -- so there were never any waves when we were there. Also the water is very shallow, which is great for children. Our kids loved exploring the empty beach all to themselves.

All in all, it was an awesome week. We hated to leave and look forward to a return visit next year.

Paradise and breathtaking view

Review submitted: February 29, 2012   Date of arrival: February 4, 2012

I was prepared to be a bit let down upon arrival since pictures always make a place look nicer than it actually is, but in this case, the pictures do not do Villa Cecilia justice!! From the minute you walk in the front door, you are taken back by the beautiful openness of the house, the wonderful tall ceilings, and the gorgeous turquoise water peeking through every window. Every member of our group entered and exclaimed "wow". My husband and I travelled here with our two children (ages 4 and 1) and two sets of grandparents. We had an amazing time. The house was perfect for our kids with lots of room for them to run around and no knick knacks at their height in peril of being broken. Everything in the house is top of the line, and while there were a few minor maintenance issues like a couple fans that didn't turn the right way, none of that affected our enjoyment of the house at all. We ate all our meals in the screened in porch. The beach was perfect with beautiful white sand and minimal rocks. Our daily highlights included playing in the ocean, snorkelling and taking long walks towards Three Mary Cays. I was in awe each morning when I woke up and looked out the window at the amazing colours -- sky and water.

Previous reviews have mentioned the privacy aspect being oversold, but I beg to differ. Three villas on one 4 km stretch of beach is amazing. The great thing about Villa Cecilia as well is that there is nothing to the east. The villa to the west had guests for the first few days we were there, and we could have cared less. As for mice/rats, they are just a reality of being in a relatively remote Caribbean island and it was very obvious to us that the property owner is taking measures to deal with them.

We would return in a heartbeat! Thank you to the owners for sharing this beautiful place.

Owners response: Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a fabulous review. I so glad you and your family enjoyed your stay and we do hope to see you again in the future.
We would also like to thank you for also bringing the minor maintenance issues to our attention. You will be happy to know that have all been addressed.
Thank you again!

Very nice villa; not so 'private'

Review submitted: February 6, 2012   Date of arrival: January 21, 2012

Surprise! The recent review by Heath & Heidi submitted on 12/29/11 (only three weeks) before my wife and I were to leave for the villa was the very first indication I had that there was even another building nearby! I researched the area with Google Earth, and not surprisingly, the images are somewhat dated; but show only one building, and that in the foundation stage of construction! I had hopes that the villa was all I wanted, and as secluded as the description says. Not only was the villa directly next door occupied all the while while we were there, but it is being sold at a 'no reserve' auction this February! There was traffic in and out all week long. So the week we were there, this villa was nothing close to “our own private island.” This was a real bummer to me. Not all what I was expecting when I had booked the villa several months prior. The description definitely needs to be updated.
The villa itself is everything the description indicates. It is very clean, well constructed, and well decorated. Ditto the comments made in earlier reviews about bringing some provisions down with you. However, I did have the villa partially provisioned by Chrischelle prior to our arrival. Chrischelle is a great property manager. She handled all the details for the rental car (needed) and house provisioning. She even suggested we order out our first night there: "Mrs. B's delivers!", she said. Great suggestion: fresh fish, rice&peas and a salad. Yummy! Take the time to drop by the Barracuda beach bar nearby to meet the wonderful 'belongers', and take a day trip to Middle Caicos to eat at Daniel's and get authentic crafts made locally. Other than that, there is no reason to leave the villa!
I will end by highlighting a couple of things. One: this is a “cash island.” There are very few places that take credit cards. Once you leave the Provo area, you will likely need dollars. The currency is the US $, accepted everywhere. Credit cards, not so much. (Electricity is 110v US-type plug, so you are good-to-go) You are certainly safe traveling with cash, so please don't worry. Two: the villa really needs some sort of –for lack of a better term—boom box. This is the first villa that we have been to that we did not have a portable stereo that we could take out by the pool, plug in our MP3 player, and enjoy our tunes there. The alternative of course is to tune the DirecTV satellite to a music station, open the doors, and turn up the TV a bit. Enjoy your stay.

Owners response: Thank you for your 4 star review, even although you encountered several minor annoyances. There have always been 3 houses including the Villa Cecilia(VC)on this 1 mile stretch of velvety white sand beach. Until recently, they have remained vacant. It now appears the bank is planning on auctioning off the house next door on February 18th. I am excited about the prospect of this property finally being sold as it was falling into disrepair. Since it is 130' away, Even when occupied, it will only affect the privacy of VC to a minor degree. There is still approximately 500' of private beach in front of VC. The Villa Cecilia still offers the privacy and tranquility you will not find at a resort. As regards the portable stereo. VC has 2 IPOD docks (one in the leisure rm and one in the MB) that can be easily moved to the pool area. I am surprised you missed them. In any case, thank you for bringing these matters to our attention. Should you decide to visit us again, you & our future guests can rest assured (as all our previous 5 star reviews attest)we will continue to offer the finest and most memorable vacation experiences available on North Caicos.

beautiful villa, great setting, a few problems

Review submitted: January 30, 2012   Date of arrival: November 9, 2011

Villa Cecilia is a lovely home on a mostly secluded beach. We love North Caicos, the privacy, beauty, and seclusion. The island is beyond gorgeous and worth the ferry ride. Unfortunately, we had a few problems with our rental. We were expecting no neighbors and both houses next door were rented while we were there. There is no privacy between the two neighboring houses. I was able to see what the neighbors were (or weren't) wearing every day. Luckily there are still miles of empty beach.
Our main concern was a pest problem...we had mice in the kitchen, in the wallsand attic. We mentioned this to Chriselle, but she simply acted surprised. My husband finally bought traps at the store. We caught 3 mice, saw several more. There were mice droppings in every drawer in the kitchen when we arrived . Also, almost every night we were awakened by scratching noises in the walls and loud noises coming from the attic. We also had a problem with fire biting ants--all over the screened in porch. We made the mistake of laying a towel over a chair to dry on the screened in porch. I used it when I got out of the pool, not realizing it was covered with ants. These are not regular ants, but fire ants. I got multiple stinging bites, as did my husband.
We were also surprised that there were literally no supplies in the house upon arrival. We arrived with a load of groceries thankfully. But, there was no water, no spices, no olive oil, no salt and pepper--nothing. We got one roll of paper towels and one roll of toilet paper per bathroom for our 10 day stay. There was no soap, no shampoo, no extra t.p. It was a little frustrating to have to purchase basic supplies like toilet paper and soap.
The power went out twice for several hours while we were there. I realize that the owners have no control over this, but there were no emergency supplies in the house--no matches, no candles, no functioning flashlight. You may want to bring an extra suitcase to pack all the things you need to make this beautiful home functional
I hate to post a negative review, but I felt extremely let down after reading all the prior reviews. We have stayed at over 10 villas throughout the Caribbean and never experienced any problems like these. We love rustic secluded private islands like North Caicos and always rent private villas when we stay. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Villa Cecilia--try Pelican Point or La Dolce Vita (right next door). NC is worth it

Recommended for: pet-friendly

Owners response: I am sorry to hear of your disappointment regarding your recent stay at the Villa Cecilia (VC). Since you have visited North Caicos (NC) several times in the past, you knew of the two other houses on the beach. They have remained unoccupied for the past several years. It appears that the bank is now preparing the home for auction. As a result, there have been a number of people on the property. The house, the Dolce Vita (DV), you refer to in your review is located to the left as you face the ocean, separated by a vacant building lot, & 130’ from VC leaving approximately 500’ of private beach in front of the Villa & bending around into the cove. This stretch of beach is depicted on our listings & remains unchanged. As regards to rodents & pests, we have a monthly contract with a pest control co. I was never made aware of this issue during your 10 day stay. Had you called or emailed me to apprise me of the situation, I would have instructed the pest control co. to treat the Villa at once & resolve the problem. We had guests for 17 days just prior to your stay & they never mentioned a word about pests. I have instructed the pest control co. to double their efforts to eliminate any future problems. The VC is not a resort, therefore, we do not provide toilet paper, paper towels, etc., for our guest’s entire stay. I have instructed my MGR to ensure there will always be TP & paper towels for future guests upon their arrival. The spice container has been refilled since your stay Again, because we are not a resort, we do not provide personal toiletries i.e. shampoo, soap etc. I will make a point to add this in the FAQs. Lastly, I find it ironic you would complain about the DV being so close & then recommend it to other guests to stay rather than the VC or Pelican Point whose beach is rocky & not comparable. Never-the-less, I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to bring these issues to our attention. It has been, & will always be, our goal to provide the finest Villa vacation experience possible at an affordable cost. We do not take security deposits or charge for utility usage as do most other Villas on the island. Should you decide to visit us again, you & future guests can be assured these issues have been resolved & that the VC, as all of our previous 5 star reviews attest, will continue to offer the finest and memorable vacation experiences on NC.

Wonderful Solitude

Review submitted: January 15, 2012   Date of arrival: January 2, 2012

My first impression walking in the villa was that it was even better than it looked on the internet. This was the case for the whole trip. There are two homes right next door but no one was at either one. We had 2 or 3 miles of beach all to ourselves. The view was great. The beach was nice. The snorkeling was pretty good. The villa is nicely appointed, clean, and roomy. The owner and property manager were both helpful and friendly. I would recommend this villa to anyone looking for a relaxing, quiet, get away. You do need to be able to entertain yourself as there is not any night life, group tours, or shopping. There are plenty of places to do that all over the world though and few places like this were you can enjoy a beautiful villa and spectacular setting in solitude (especially if no one is in the other two villa nearby).

Amazing Vacation

Review submitted: January 3, 2012   Date of arrival: December 26, 2011

Our family just got back from a week at Villa Cecilia. The house itself was beautiful and exactly like the pictures. The setting on Whitby beach was just extraordinary, just incredible. My family had a great vacation. North Caicos was quiet and peaceful. This type of vacation is not for everyone, but if you are looking for some quality family time in a setting that is beautiful beyond belief, this is the place for you. The trip was easy out of Provo and back. The stores on North had ample supplies, but it was worth bringing groceries, as fresh items were hard to come by. The restaurants were simple but really good. We will definitely go back.

First Trip to TCI

Review submitted: December 29, 2011   Date of arrival: October 23, 2011

First trip to TCI&we fell in-love N.C so much so we bought a 1 acre ocean front lot by the 3 Mary Cays.If you want quiet & remote you have found the perfect place. From the time you walk in the front door of the villa you can see the turquoise water & the fine finishes the villa has to offer. It was nice to see that the webs photo's were very accurate.Chrischelle (PM)was waiting for us when we arrived @ the villa. She is very helpful&the best resource for any of your needs. There are 2 other villas on the West side but during our stay they were not rented. Which made for a very peaceful&relaxing trip.If you want to be secluded, peaceful&relaxing this is the place for you.Take a day trip to Middle durning your stay, we loved it!The views at Mudjin Harbor are amazing.Plan to bring food, drinks&snacks along and don't forget to fill up on gas,Middle is pretty isolated.Another activity is snorkeling down by the 3 Mary Cays which is about a 45 min walk on the beach from the villa or a 10 min drive. For food the IGA store near GB which seemed to have a different selection than the IGA near the airport. We recommend you get anything you need from TP, soap (kitchen and bathroom), any cooking necessities like EVOO & seasonings the villa's kitchen was empty and do this while in Provo.Alcohol on the other hand was just about the same price or cheaper in N.C as in Provo so wait&buy that when you get to the island, no need to carry all of that on the ferry.Ask for boxes at the grocery store to make things easier for the ferry ride. The liquor store on N.C is located on your way to Bottle Creek just passed the Texaco on your right.During our stay most things were still closed for the season opening again later Nov.So plan to get most of your food needs in Provo especially meat, fruits&veggies. You can get a few things in NC as they have several small stores but selection is limited. There are only a few restaurants on NC&never know if they will be open so plan on enough food for your stay. The layout was nice 2 masterbed rm type bedrooms on opposite sides of the house was very nice it gave you privacy when you're there with friends&family the beds were very comfortable which always makes your stay much more restful. We can't say enough about the villa or N.C Absolutely one of the best places we have been and can't wait to start to build a place of our own.Feel free to contact us with ?'s we would be happy to help.We spent almost 3 wks onNC&got to know quite a few of the in's&out's

It is the best place to spend a vacation!!!!

Review submitted: August 30, 2011   Date of arrival: August 13, 2011

Taking 4 adult children was not an easy task to sell them on that we would be the only people on this private beach....but when we got there I could not believe how relaxing it was.and they loved it and in awe with the beauty of the villa as well as the beach and of course the pool. They could be at the pool then get something for lunch then meet us right at the beach since it was like 50 steps away...beautiful, clean, organized. We had everything we needed. The Villa was fabulous and yes we have stayed there more than once. Any family with little ones or big ones will love this place. The people are great and getting from provo to North Caicos not a problem...we treated our children to a private boat on the way and on the way back we took the ferry equally as nice. We rented a car and went to Middle Caicos...1/2 hour away it was beautiful and the children could see why we love it Turks so much. We also brought food with us in a cooler and stopped in provo to do some grocery shopping. I also recommend making a menu as a guideline. I recommend everyone who is looking to get away from the crazy of this life to spend time - home away from home - that is what this villa is....thank you to the owners who have great people taking care of it and we never felt worried...God bless!

When Can We Come Back???

Review submitted: August 17, 2011   Date of arrival: June 4, 2011

We had the time of our lives at Villa Cecilia!! Everything was better than we could have imagined. My husband and I and our best friends celebrated our 20th wedding anniversaries at Villa Cecilia. We spent our days lounging by the pool and walking on the beach and our evenings making and enjoying great meals on the screened-in porch. We all agreed this was the best vacation we've ever had and we are already trying to plan a return trip. You will definitely want to have the villa stocked with groceries before you arrive and also try to get fresh fish delivered. We did not see anyone on the beach the entire week and felt as if we were on a private island only with all the amenities that anyone could need. Thank you so much for the perfect vacation!

Gorgeous house, perfect setting

Review submitted: August 15, 2011   Date of arrival: May 21, 2011

We stayed at Villa Cecilia to celebrate turning 40 and being cancer free – this was the place to celebrate. Gorgeous house, perfect setting. It was everything we hoped for and more.

Villa Cecilia is a perfect place to check out of reality and just focus on the gorgeous setting. The blue/green water, the flour soft beaches and the blue blue sky. After a lovely day of sitting at the pool or walking the beach, Villa Cecilia is a welcome oasis from the heat. The Villa has all the details taken care of, from the wine fridge, to the rain showers and the beautiful kitchen. The screened in porch was perfect – we could have a lovely dinner outside without being eaten by the bugs. It was a wonderful time with great friends in a beautiful place. Thank you.

Awesome place

Review submitted: May 30, 2011   Date of arrival: May 11, 2011

Stayed there for 7 nights in May, 2011 - really nice house, right on the beautiful beach, very secluded haven’t seen a single person on the beach the whole week…I guess renting a car for the whole stay isn’t really necessary but I’d recommend doing it anyway. Check the Old Nick’s rental place – we rented an older jeep and had a lot of fun with it. I won’t recommend renting bikes though…oh yes, there is also a really nice snorkeling place just in front of the house (liked it more than 3 Marry Keys), swim towards the ship wreck until you see the reef, but don’t come to close to the wreck – very strong current.

Review submitted: May 25, 2011   Date of arrival: April 5, 2010

We were and still are always impressed with this villa and all of the Turks and Caicos islands. We have been coming there for 8 eights and now coming back with the entire family. Middle caicos is wonderful that was our very first visit and stayed in a little cottage...we have stayed at villa cecilia and seven stars (the best in provo) and also stayed in salt cay...and no we are not divers but waking up to donkeys was fun...didn't stay to long but we can say we have seen all the islands or most of them...take the trip you will love it. The people are wonderful, helpful and friendly. They take care of you and make sure your need are met. If you are there to experience you will in many ways...God bless and enjoy His great creations....

FANTASTIC!

Review submitted: May 16, 2011   Date of arrival: April 16, 2011

My husband & I spent 2 wonderful, peaceful weeks at Villa Cecelia. The villa is just beautiful and very well equipped with everything you need. We only rented a car 1 day to go to middle caicos and to the kite festival at the North Caicos community center. The rest of the time was spent at the villa in the pool &, on the quiet beach. When we wanted to go out for lunch or dinner, we walked to the Silver Palms which is only about a mile by beach or the road. We have been to lots of different places in the Caribbean and this is one of our favorite places!

Unbelievable Honeymoon!!

Review submitted: April 28, 2011   Date of arrival: April 10, 2011

My wife and I stayed in your villa from April 10th-16th, and WOW! the home was everything we could ever want and more!! everything in the house is set up perfect and the views are amazing! The water was SO clear and beautiful! We snorkled everyday just out from the house and found some big conch shells. Chrischelle was great, very helpful and just a phone call away if needed. We highly recommend having the home stocked with groceries before arriving. We did and it was a huge help. We rented a car for the week from Al's rent-a-car and that was very helpful. We went to middle caicos one day and explored the caves and ate at Daniels cafe and had a great lunch. Katie opened up the Silver Palm just for us one evening and had a delicious meal all to ourselves. other than that we grilled our dinner at the house every evening. We went to provo island one day to parasail and ride jet ski's, but most of the time we were at the beach in front of the house just relaxing and enjoying our honeymoon and taking in the beautiful scenery. We probably saw around 10 people all week while we were on the beach, which was unbelievable! It truly was a paradise and we thank you guys SO much for sharing such a nice thing with us and for working the dates out with us!!! You truly have something special at the Villa!! This place would be highly recommended for someone wanting to get away and relax in a true paradise!! Couldn't have asked for a better place to spend our honeymoon!!

Beach Lovers Dream

Review submitted: March 7, 2011   Date of arrival: February 12, 2011

We absolutely loved our time at Villa Cecilia. We had three couples and were looking for a nice, relaxing time. When we stepped into the villa and saw the pool, the beach, and the turquoise water we were taken away. We only saw a handful of people on the beach our entire stay. The insects were not an issue. We used the screenporch during dusk and were even able to enjoy the beach in the moonlight without an issue. You do need to realize that North Caicos is not the place to go if you are looking for an active nightlife or shopping adventures. But if you love a very private beautiful beach and a luxurious villa then this is the place for you. With six adults, we had plenty of space for privacy when desired. We enjoyed playing in the ocean, relaxing on the beach and by the pool, and exploring North and Middle Caicos. We did have the villa stocked with groceries, and would do it again, but would pack some dry goods in our luggage with us next time. It was so very hard to leave such a beautiful place behind. We hope to go back someday with our daughter.

It's all about the water and the awesome beach!

Review submitted: February 16, 2011   Date of arrival: February 5, 2011

A beautiful home on a awesome beach. Chrischelle did a great job in stocking the villa with our groceries and sharing information that was helpful in making our stay relaxing. We spent our time reading, walking the beach, sun tanning, snorkeling and taking in the great view. The island of N.Caicos is very, very quiet. The location of the villa must be getting out. We had visitors by bike, hiking or by boat on most days. Of course, 2 people for an hour or two was not crowded! We had great weather the whole time and made the most of the outdoor time. We did go to Provo one day to golf and shop, but most of the time at the villa. Stocking the home is important, don't do it any other way! I would hate to grocery shop in Provo and ferry it, along with my luggage to N. Caicos. We did experience Sand Fleas and their bites. We were told later to apply Baby Oil to prevent the bites. Would been nice to know that earlier. Bring some along. We had a great time and it was totally relaxing!

Recommended for: families with young children, romantic getaway

Owners response: Sounds like you had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay at the Villa Cecilia. I agree with you regarding groceries and I point that out in the FAQ's I send out to all prospective guests. Sand fleas are generally not an issue. In fact you are, unfortunately, one of the few previous guests who have had problems with them. I would definately not recommend baby oil because it wil stain the upholstery. Most guests stay in the screened in porch in the evening and, if necessary, apply Insect repellent. Insects aside, it sounds like you had a fabulous vacation. My wife and I would like to thank you for taking the time to write such a wonderful review. I am glad you enjoyed your stay and we hope to see you again in the future.

The villa is very clean, lovely and has amazing views of the ocean from many rooms. The beach is as private and secluded as any we've ever seen. We only saw 2 other couples the entire week we were there. We drove all over the island of North Caicos and saw most other rental villas in enclaves of homes with much less privacy. I agree with other reviewers that it is a good idea to have the place provisioned in advance of your arrival. We also brought a suitcase with dry goods - crackers, granola bars, chips, etc. I also recommend bringing some soap, laundry detergent, trash bags, etc. The onsite manager, Chrischelle, was very helpful and even gave us a local cell phone to use during our stay. The Silver Palm is very close and has wonderful food. Be sure to call by noon to place your order for that night. The owner opened up the restaurant for just my husband and me - it was a great experience. I recommend renting a car as the nearest grocery store is a 10 minute drive. Grocery stores have a very limited selection - especially on weekends. New stock arrives on Tuesday afternoon with eggs, milk, cheese, etc. Middle Caicos is worth the 45 minute drive - lots of sites to see and Daniels Cafe is there with great food and atmosphere. The beach at the villa is beautiful and the water is shallow, clear and perfect for snorkeling, swimming or just floating. December winds made the water a bit choppy for us, but we snorkeled anyways and found lots of pretty fish and shells. We even saw an enormous manta ray. You can walk or drive to Three Marys Cay to snorkel- it is about a 40 minute walk on the deserted beach or a 15 minute drive by car. Every year my husband and I search for a secluded, private beach to rest, relax, rejuvenate and get away from the daily stress of life. We leave our 4 young boys with grandparents and go someplace peaceful. Villa Cecilia was by far the most private, relaxing vacation we've ever had (even more so than the private island we rented a few years ago!). Thank you, Dan, for sharing your paradise with us. We will be back!

Texans find Paradise at Villa Cecilia

Review submitted: December 23, 2010   Date of arrival: December 18, 2010

Our family went the week before Christmas and it was Amazing!
We all had such a wonderful experience.
A suggestion:
Make arrangements with Chrisella who will get you in contact with Alexis. We were picked up at the airport, taken to the grocery store (which is a MUST), then taken to the Ferry. Alexis was amazing in walking us through each step and then when we arrived at North Cacios we were met by Chrisella who delivered us to the house. We had read other reviews about getting the groceries, however, we cannot stress enough the importance of getting all your groceries. The groceries and restaurants are VERY expensive so eating at home is so worth it.
My husband said the cost of the groceries was similar to buying a large flat screen TV however, after cooking all our meals he said it was so worth it. We only ate one meal
Out and that was lunch at Daniels which was very good but the cost was $120.00 for 6 and that was NO alcohol.
The entire experience was amazing. Our only disappointment was the Snorkeling which we were nit able to do as the winds were so high.
Other than that everything was so Special!
Loved the fact we almost had the entire beach to ourselves. In one week we saw a total of 5 people on the beach and laying by the pool was extra convenient.
Again, entire visit was SO Special and we would highly recommend.
Saviano Family from Texas
So just know ahead of time and plan for your groceries before arrival.

Great Villa for a Secluded Week

Review submitted: December 19, 2010   Date of arrival: November 5, 2010

The villa is fantastic. Great features. The beach is also beautiful. We saw 4 people on the beach the entire week. Chrischelle, the on-island manager, gave us excellent service. We had Crischelle bring us fresh grouper from island fishermen on 2 occasions and highly recommend that. We also had her stock the villa with food, wine, etc. and would recommend that. If you are looking for a relaxing low-key trip on a great beach this villa on North Caicos is an excellent choice. If you want night-life, Provo would be a better option.

Absolutely Amazing

Review submitted: November 30, 2010   Date of arrival: October 27, 2010

This home is incredible! The description and amenities, photos, etc. that Mr. Silva has listed here are not only completely accurate, but they are very humble! The property was very pristinely clean and really felt like home. My new husband and I were married on the beach right outside of the villa. It was a great setting and backdrop and we could not have planned any other way. If you are getting married, we recommend Dee from Elegant Weddings by Dee. She was very accomodating, funny and sweet. Our mothers, aunt and sisters were there for the wedding and they also thought the villa was really special! They are all very well traveled and said that they have never been to such an enchanting place. The beach was completely to ourselves for the entire week. Literally, we saw abolutely no one...no footsteps but ours. We cooked every night. The sunsets each day were incredible...so many shades of pink and orange. The people on North Caicos were so nice and we enjoyed the local rawness of the island. With exception of picking up some wine and food we just stayed at the Villa and relaxed. We did not rent a car, but rather called Mac at M&M taxi or Andrew (the property manager's husband for a ride). Chrischelle, the property manager, was very accomodating and would pick up ice and things for us while she was out. All of our communications with the Owners, the Silvas, were extremely pleasant. Overall --- this was a wonderful choice and we will definitely be going back.

Don't worry about packing too much. We were only in our bathings suits most of the time! I do recommend bringing a suitcase of dry goods, bar soap, etc. Also, get as much alcohol as you can (I think it is 1 liter or two bottles of wine) at Duty Free if possible -- although these items are not too expensive on the island, you don't want to have to run out to the store because you won't want to leave the Villa and the beach! Bring insect repellent because around dusk-thirty there is a small 30 minute period of mosquitoes. Otherwise, insect-wise it was very pleasant. Bring plenty of cash. There is not a bank or ATM on the island and the food costs about 5 times that in the states. Also, we tried our best to conserve energy and water as these are very expensive and cherished on the island as well. You really can open all the windows and get plenty of cool air - Plus you can hear the sound of the beach and winds which is very relaxing.

Thank you Silvas!

Missing the villa already!

Review submitted: August 26, 2010   Date of arrival: July 30, 2010

Dan was right on about the villa! The house was beautiful and we felt right at home. They thought about everything anyone would need while vacationing. The location was perfect and we were secluded from the busy hussle and bussle of our everyday life here. We spend most of our time on the beach, whether it was walking, looking for shells, or snorkeling. The swimming pool was nice to jump into after our day in the sun. The couple who went with us saw a huge stingray and was able to take excellent pictures! We taught my husband how to swim and snorkel and I think that was our highlight of the memories. He was always scared of the water, but seemed to be relaxed and calm while there. That one will go down in our memory book for sure! We spent a lot of time sitting out on the back porch at night just enjoying the company of our good friends.

We rented a car and went driving down all of the roads. We found some beautiful beaches along the way and saw the pink flamingos. They were too far off, but we happened to have binoculars and a telephoto lens on my camera, so we got to see them pretty good. They were beautiful. We met a lot of the island people and everyone was truly nice. Their personality is so layed back and friendly and they were always willing to help us find whatever we were looking for. We met a gentleman at the ferry named "Somi" and he became a person who we knew would always help us out. He will always be in our thoughts.

Dan, thanks for the opportunity to have a week of peace and quiet and kind of get our bearings back. You truly do have a wonderful place and I would love to go back and visit again, maybe next time we will bring the whole family. I know our grandchildren would love the beach. We hated to leave the house, but knew we had to get back to reality! Hope your family is doing well and may God bless you!

Fantastic

Review submitted: July 29, 2010   Date of arrival: July 2, 2010

Our whole family consisting of 6 adults and 3 small children spent a week in this fantastic home. This is a 5 Star home with every convenience at your fingertips. The ocean is wonderful with great snorkeling and you have the whole beach to yourself. The best hambergers were at the Pelican Beach Resort with a beautiful view. The house manager shopped for us so the refrigerator was stocked with everything we asked for so we did not have to worry about getting groceries from the main island for a week. The small grocery stores close to the house have basics and more like a 7-ll convenience. Bring cash -as most places do not accept credit cards or travelers checks. Safe and very friendly island. The people were wonderful. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Missing Villa Cecilia Already

Review submitted: July 29, 2010   Date of arrival: July 2, 2010

Our family enjoyed one of the most fun and relaxing vacations of a lifetime at this beautiful home on the beach of North Caicos. I cannot say enough good things about the house itself-the rooms were comfortable, the kitchen was fantastic, all was fresh, clean, and very accomodating. We enjoyed a lot of snorkeling both off the beach immediately behind the house and at the 3 Mary Cays. We saw an immense amount of sea life which was so amazing for all of us! We threw frisbees, played in the sand, laid out by the pool, cooked marvelous food, and generally re-connected with one another as we lazily passed the days away. The few locals or "belongers" as they are referred to, were incredibly friendly and helpful, and we always felt safe, despite the remote nature of the area. We would love to come back to Villa Cecilia some day soon!

Paradise for a week

Review submitted: July 26, 2010   Date of arrival: July 10, 2010

We stayed at this gorgeous villa 7/10/2010 to 7/171/2010. Thank you for the stay of a lifetime. It's just what it says it is. If you are looking for absolute serenity away from phones, computers, and people for a week.. we had it and it was fabulous. We did not see human life until the Friday before coming home. The water was perfect... the ship wreck out back was picturesque.. we kind of felt like castaways. Pure utter relaxation and rejuvenation abound. A walk to 3 Mary's Cay, sunsets on the water, sunrise walks on the beach; sand castle contests; kite flying. We left behind some floats, a kite and more sand castle tools for the next visitors. Chrischelle was amazing: right there if needed. We opted for grocery delivery and stayed right at the house: husband did all the cooking: which he enjoys since the kitchen reminded us of home. Beds very comfortable... this villa has all the comforts of our home: A pure home away from home: just what we like and certainly needed. Having the pool at the doorstep was fantastic for our daughter: in it 24/7. This is definitely a place we will come back to: next year we are preparing. Thanks for a little piece of paradise!

Seclusion in Paradise

Review submitted: July 12, 2010   Date of arrival: June 6, 2010

If you are looking for seclusion, yet luxury, this is the place for you. Our family of six vacationed at Villa Cecilia and could not have been happier with our stay. The Villa is as beautiful as it looks in the pictures. However, the pictures don't do justice to how peaceful the white powder beach really is. The only tracks in the sand between the Villa and Three Mary Cays for the entire week we were there, were our own. The water just outside the Villa is crystal clear and provided us with days of fun in the sun and snorkeling. The view from the living room is like looking into an aquarium. We have stayed at other VRBO properties before and the Villa Cecilia owner was by far the most accommodating owner we have dealt with. His immediate response to questions made planning our trip much easier. The properly liaison in Provo was extremely friendly and helpful too. A day trip to Middle Caicos for a short hike to see the secluded cave beaches near the Blue Horizon Resort is a must. The island is the complete opposite of a busy resort and very laid back. We now truly understand the expression "on Island Time". Make sure to try and get the majority of yourself catering supplies in Provo as the grocery options at Whitby are very limited. The Provo IGA doesn't sell alcohol on Sundays, which was the day of our arrival, so you may have to make an additional stop. This review could go on and on, but you must experience it yourself to truly appreciate the property. We highly recommend this property for a kicked back family vacation and can't wait for our return trip!

Wonderful adventure not to be missed!

Review submitted: July 12, 2010   Date of arrival: June 11, 2010

Wonderful memories were created on this trip to North Caicos. The villa is absolutely luxurious! A beautiful home with plenty of room and beauty. Who knew anything like this still exists? It really is like having your own private island. We visited with our four children who range in age from 4-12. You need a little bit of an adventurous spirit to truly get full enjoyment out of the remote location but if you do the rewards are plentiful. In the off season, be sure to take plenty of food to cook as the main "tourist" restaurant is closed. Be sure to talk with the owner about his Provo rental as well. Take two weeks, one in each location. It's a great place if you like a little more choice in activities and dining. The beach in provo is still rather private as far as resort areas are concerned. We loved them both and hope to go back again.

What a Tremendous get away! Luxury in the midst of a serene peaceful setting. Natural beauty from every view. The warm soothing ocean water offering bountiful sea life. The taunting wreck calling you to explore. Endless white deserted beach for as far as you can stroll. A place to rejuvenate and connect.

OUTSTANDING PROPERTY

Review submitted: June 8, 2010   Date of arrival: March 11, 2010

My wife and I rent at least two vacation homes per year and Villa Cecilia is our number one choice. We have stayed at approx. 20 properties and have never stayed at the same house twice but we will be returning to Villa Cecilia. The Island of North Cacios is an unspoiled totally relaxing destination. The Villa is incredible. The location, decore and privacy are superb. Every morning my wife and I would walk a mile and a half up the beach. We only saw other people on the beach once. I love the old ship wreck off the beach!! Dan has made this a great vacation spot. Not only is the property beautiful but Dan has arranged for some really great people to to help you get there and to make sure that your stay goes smooth. We spent our 20th Wedding Anniversary here. We were looking for a romantic, private, tropical getaway. This Villa delivers all of this and more.

Perfect vacation home!

Review submitted: June 1, 2010   Date of arrival: May 15, 2010

My wife and I stayed at Villa Cecilia in May and had a wonderful time! The house is perfect and is everything we wanted for a vacation home. I don't think there was ONE thing missing that we could have wanted! The pool and the beach are really breathtaking and we couldn't get enough of both! I think the whole week we were there we saw two groups of people, other than that, we had the beach to ourselves! Chrischelle is a great person to get to know and is also a HUGE help - just a phone call away. The island is great and everyone we met was very friendly. Be sure to explore Three Marys Cays - take the road for some off road adventure or just walk down the beach and enjoy the peaceful stroll. The Silver Palm restaurant is very close by and Karen (the owner) will take good care of you. Also try Miss B's for lunch or dinner, Dorothy (the owner) a delight to talk to. This is the only island I've ever been to where the locals remember your name each time you see them, truly a great island. Be sure to try the SNUBA adventure at the Windson Resort in Provo, Jodi will take good care of you and it's the BEST thing to do if you've ever wanted to try diving.
Overall we had a great time and would LOVE to go back to TCI one day and stay at Villa Cecilia. It was perfect - thanks Dan!

Your home is FABULOUS!

Review submitted: May 17, 2010   Date of arrival: April 18, 2010

Your home is FABULOUS! Love the layout. The decor is beautiful and all comfy. The kids thought all was great. The screened in patio is a huge bonus, kids ate all their meals out there and we played games out there in the evenings. The snorkeling was indescribable. I agree with the food/groceries....bring dry goods and buy the rest in Provo. Alexis and her sister and Chrishelle were awesome. The people on the island were very friendly. Al's car rental super service and we used My Girl for ferry service. Chris's Dad caught us Grouper one day and a Mahi Mahi another day......delicious ! We didn't eat out at all. Drove to Middle Caicos one day but really didn't need to....the snorkeling off your beach was superb. 3 Mary's was a 40 min walk with snorkel gear. Hands down our families had a great time and the memories will last forever. We told them to soak it all in because it would be a loooooooooooong time before we would be able to be treated to paradise again!

Thanks!
Melanie

was beautiful and had everything that we need.
The owners even provided us with a cell phone for

beach, the view of the shipwreck and the three
Mary Cays from the villa were amazing.

Review submitted: March 1, 2010   Date of arrival: March 1, 2010

We stayed from Feb. 13 to Feb. 20, 2010. It was excellent.

First, the villa itself. It is an understatement to call it spectacular. We were astounded by the attention to detail. Dan and Joetta are to be commended for literally having thought of everything. I am guessing they know that, when you travel, there's always something you "just have to live with". Not at Villa Cecilia. Everything was thought through, and if you imagined you needed something, there it was (except an espresso maker!) The interior decorating was a delight. The leaf theme is brilliant, and the attention to detail in selecting everything, from the lamps and fans to the bed spreads, was impressive.

The girls who hosted us were top notch, very professional and reliable. Again, often when you travel, you get someone's phone number for help, call it, and get an answering machine. These girls answered each and every time like clockwork. The meet-and-greet at the airport and then the dock was one of the best things about the trip. Everyone knows how tiring it is to get off a plane (especially after lots of delays) and try to figure out what to do next. They were great.

You don't have to sell the idea of the IGA to visitors. We didn't arrive in time to get there, and were a little concerned. But the local market, which is just a few minutes away by car, was totally sufficient. I am guessing there are a lot of guests who like to barbecue ribs, or steak, or some more complicated things. We're not like that-- my wife is a vegetarian (and a fabulous cook), and, while I love good food, I'm also very happy with pasta with a good sauce. For the basics, that little store is just fine.

The island is magnificent and the people are wonderful. When you travel, you can run into locals who have that vague resentment about them. These people were open, helpful, and seemed genuinely pleased to see us. We agree it's our favourite place out of the all the places we've been for it's combination of untouched beauty, peace and quiet, and really nice people.

Beautiful place, beautiful island.

Owners response: Gary, We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay at the Villa Cecilia. I can appreciate that your culinary needs may not be as important as they might be to other travelers. We still recommend going to the IGA on the main Island, rather than be dissappointed with the small selection of food available in the smaller food markets on North Caicos. We hope to see you again next year.

We stayed at Villa Cecilia from 30 January 2010 through 7 February 2010.

The Villa was everything we imagined and more. The quality of construction was excellent with every possible amenity available. It was like taking our private home and dropping it on the most beautiful, serene location we could think of.

Pictures on a web site do not do it justice. The pristine, private beach was amazing with the shipwreck adding to the ambiance! On our first day we went down to the beach and felt like we were on some alien shore.

Joetta and Dan definitely have good decorating taste. The beds were almost as comfortable as ours at home and that says a lot having traveled as much as we have. The privacy was exactly what we needed.

Although fully air conditioned, the cross ventilation with the multiple screened doors made it a paradise as Dan said it would. The property manager, Chrischelle, did an excellent job settling us in. She even arranged for a private charter boat back to Provo for our departure Sunday so we could spend a few extra hours in paradise.

We will definitely be making a future visit to the Villa Cecilia. Thank you for making our experience an excellent and easy one!

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Cecilia. The brand new villa has all the amenities of a luxury hotel room with the additional comforts and conveniences of home. Beyond the home is the beautiful beach boasting clear waters, gentle waves, fine sand, and complete privacy. The seclusion, natural beauty, and comfort separates Villa Cecilia from the pack. If you're looking for a vaction that's more oriented to nightlife and water sports then this is not it.

Owners response: Thank you Jay. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at the Villa Cecilia. Although I agree with your comment regarding the lack of nightlife, there are actually many water sports available on the Island, i.e. kayaking, fishing, snorkeling, scubing diving excursions etc. You can also take day trips via the ferry to the main Island of Provo if you want to rent seadoos, ATV's, go waterskiing or horseback riding etc.
