Would recommend to anyone wanting a nice relaxing vacation in quiet neighborhood with private pool and walking distance to beach. The home was clean, spacious, and equipped with almost everything you could possibly need.

We had a great time. The house was the perfect size for our group of 17. The self contained room, above the garage, really helped since we had 3 families. It gave each group a private area. We loved the front porch in the mornings and the back deck in the evenings. We enjoyed the pool, the grill, the fully equipped kitchen, and the game room/garage which gave the kids their own space. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends

Dream Destin Vacation
2012 Louisiana & New Jersey Family Beach Reunion

Our stay at the Stingray Shack was everything we had expected and more. It was a family reunion for 10 adults & 1 child(age range was 4yrs-20's-30's-50's & 60's) and we all felt like we were at home for the week. The home provided everything we needed(with a little help from Publix) and we didn't want to leave. The addition of the pool was perfect-we soooo enjoyed it-from early in the morning to swimming before dinner. The neighborhood was quiet and we met many people, both local and renters, which made it again feel like home. The walk to the beach was only 1 1/2 blocks away which made it convenient for all. We hope to be able to stay again next summer if we can all work it in our schedules. We highly recommend the Stingray Shack for a dream Destin vacation!

poor quality furnishings--beds are poor, linens were not clean, most everything is broken--doors don't open, jalousies don't work, carpet stained and worn out, furniture worn out and shabby,
dryer is fire hazard--cannot clean below filter and hose is completely stuffed with lint
pool is great
stairs too steep and slick for children
for the price, I expected much better quality
Owners response:
Our commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction is and has always been our top priority and it is upsetting to think anyone might leave here disappointed. We have never had anything but positive responses from all of our families for the past 2 to 3 years, including those that have stayed here since.
We have a professional management company that helps provide a local, hands on resource for all of our guests, and they are a well known, reputable company with multiple awards. My family has stayed in the home a lot since renting it and has always been very satisfied with the linens, cleanliness, etc. They have a home inspector that comes in after every clean to ensure this. However we have always encouraged guests to call anytime 24 hours a day during their stay if they felt that things were not up to their standards. We also provide our own contact information so that we can ALWAYS be reached.
We will look in to all of these suggested ideas very carefully. Stairs can be theoretically steep for unattended children, but that can be said in any home and we do have a downstairs bedroom if stairs are a concern. I have had my own family stay here with children under the age of 1 and have never had a concern for their safety. We do of course ask that you please keep a watch on your children at all times if they are under age, as with any home. We will make sure we address any lint in the dryer, but saying this home is a fire hazard is unfair. In saying that please contact our rental company immediately if there is ever a safety concern at any time during your stay.
We work very hard to keep up with all wear and tear and replacements. Cleanliness is taken very seriously and repairs are immediately taken care of when noticed or reported. Our management team does a thorough walk through to make sure it stays rental ready.
Overall we ask that you take in to account the other reviews and come to us with any comments, questions or concerns throughout your stay. We are here for you throughout your entire stay, and we take your satisfaction and safety very seriously. This house is our familys vacation home, we even used to live here, and we take great pride in it.
We promise you the care and personal service of a small family company with the resources of a large rental business. The value of staying so close to everything, including the beach, with your entire family together in one comfortable family friendly home is priceless.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Stingray Shack. We had 11 adults, 2 kids and a toddler we had plenty of room. The house is huge. Really enjoyed the new pool and back yard very relaxing. The furnishing's could have been of better quality since the house is so elegant. Walking distance to the beach was great.

What a great week we had and thanks for your wonderful place! The 7 high school girls absolutely loved the open feel to everything and so did some other families that visited us during the week. Any problems were addressed promptly by the owner, Brendan. The location was perfect and walking distance to everything. The new backyard should be a big hit for any new renters. We enjoyed the fire pit a number of nights and the girls loved the pool to take a break from the beach. Overall, on a scale from 1-10 you get a 10!

This was our first trip to Destin and we picked the perfect place!
The house is spacious and has a great layout. It's close to the beach and in a great safe neighborhood with white picket fences. We came during spring break with adults, and kids age 13-19 and we all loved our vacation.
Shopping, restaurants are all close by. Our favorite restaurant was Bonefish grill right up the street. Their bam bam shrimp and chicken is to die for.
Looking forward to coming back in the summer!

We enjoyed our stay here- when I leave I might shed a tear. The house was really cool and we used the ocean as our pool. The house was certainly big enough to hold our families and our stuff. We hope to come back real soon but for now we say goodbye to you!

Thanks for a wonderful house to stay in! There were 13 very happy people! I personally enjoyed the master bedroom. The kids enjoyed the sound system! It was a great trip for all of us from Southwest Missouri!

What a great house! Beautiful and fully equipped for 14. Any problems Brendan fixed them immediately. You have to love the back yard, front porch, and quick walk to the beach. Would love to come back anytime and enjoy.

Had a great time. The house was great. We take a beach trip every year- myself and my boys, my sister and her girls and grand daughers, and my other sister and her boys (except this year the youngest sister and boys didn't make the trip.) So at the last minute there were only 5 of us. However we still enjoyed our vacation. Thanks again for the accommodations.

This house was absolutely a great find for our family. I said "awesome" when we made arrangements to book it and it has been an awesome reunion for our family. We are from Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas. Wonderful house for large multi-generational family

We had grandparents down to Newborns in this house. With the layout, there was a room for everyone, either in the middle of the action or seperated from the main house. The walk to the beach was very short and was about a block from the public access. We love this area of FL and this is one of the better houses we have stayed in. The owner is also super responsive and made us feel very welcome.
I would highly recommend this property to anyone else.

We just had to say thank you for such a great place to stay. The house looks even nicer in person. Your description of the home was very accurate. The accomodations were just perfect for our group of 16. We went to the beach in the morning, shopped in the afternoon, then back to the beach in the everning for crab hunting. There were so many things to do yet it was so relaxing. The kitchen was well equipped for any cooking we did. The only suggestions I would make are do not take car keys to the beach and make sure to rent atleast an entire week. Again thank you for all the great memories.
