Great for adults, or families with teenagers

This town home was exactly as pictured. Beautifully maintained, within walking distance of majority of tourist attractions. Metro and union station within a 10 minute walk. Had a wonderful time with 2 adults and two teens. Will definately stay here again!! Liked how previous guests each left cooking spices, so there was a kind of community atmosphere to kitchen. Could have used a few more towels and sheets as having just 4, not enough for two adults and two teenagers, when showering twice daily. Also washer and dryer only eats you do one small load at a time, can't wash and dry at the same time. Otherwise rental was exactly as pictured, very clean, can't wait to stay again.

Perfect location made for a great trip!

This was our first time in DC and this property was just perfect for what we had planned. There were three of us, two adults and a 12 year old and although the house was small compared to home there was plenty of room for the week. The location was the thing we enjoyed most - 10 minutes or so walk to the Capitol building through some lovely streets and then the museums stretched all the way to the White House. We only used the underground train once, to get to the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts for an evening show - it was a 10 to 15 minute walk to the station and the train journey was easy. We walked different streets every day and always felt safe, even late into the evening. It was great to have a house instead of just a hotel room. We would definitely stay here again. One thing that would have been handy would have been a map showing where restaurants and grocery stores were, with the house marked too. But we were happy with the property just the way it was.

The property was just as shown, it was clean and well maintained. The Eastern Market Metro stop is a few blocks from the house and the only time we had used the car was to go to the market to purchase groceries. The owner and his staff were very helpful in answering all our questions. The Metro offers a one week pass for unlimited travel on the subway for approx. $27 a person. My children and I rode the train every day to go to the Mall, Zoo the ballpark. There wasn't a single time that we didn't feel safe. If you know in advance that you will be visiting, contact your respective State Senator Office and request a tour of the Capitol, the White House, Printing and Engraving, etc. They will also provide a great information packet on what to see and do. If you are interested in seeing D.C. from an aerial view, you will need to request tickets for the elevator to the top of the Washington Monument in advance. These are not through the Senators office, I believe you need to contact the Park Service. If not, then you need to line up at 7:00 am and wait for the ticket window at 8:30. You can request up to 6 same day only tickets. Bring something to read and a newspaper to sit on. Sitting on top of the wall gets cold. Strike up a conversation with the people in line, everyone was very friendly and I was provided with some valuable information from those who had been to D.C. before. Take in a ballgame, see the museums a little at a time, go the the Eastern Market on Saturday or Sunday. There is food, crafts, a flea market with both new and used merchandise as well as antiques. My daughters particularly enjoyed the jewelry. Just down the street there are restaurants and outdoor cafes that offer many different dining and drinking experiences. Have fun and take plenty of photos.
