Great "spring break" stay

We stayed at the Chalet in March, and arrived in LOTS of snow! A late spring snow, at least 2 feet! It looked just like the photos in the description! Beautiful! Jay called us ahead of time so we were prepared and then he greeted us when we arrived with the house warm and cozy.
The house is spotless, well maintained and well equipped. Jay even had sleds for us to use (which we did!)
The photos are very accurate (even prettier in person). The Strawberry area is quieter in the "off season" so unfortunately, we missed out on the goat farm. We did however see the school house and shopped in some of the local stores. We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and just watching the snow melt from the huge deck. We did drive into Payson one evening for dinner and it was not a bad drive.
There were 5 of us, and our dog, and we had more than enough room. The upstairs master suite has a fabulous view!
Jay was readily available and obviously an attentive homeowner.
We would absolutely recommend the Chalet. We hope to go again sometime.

This place is awesome. Jay's hospitality is unsurpassed. Says sleeps 6-8, I asked for 12 and Jay provided us with air mattresses and sleeping pads to take care of us all, still had plenty of room. I searched all over Flagstaff and the Mogollon Rim area for a place to stay and the Chalet is by far the best quality place for the money. There is plenty to do all within 30 minutes, went down to Ellison Creek swimming hole in Payson, took the kids to the goat farm, stopped and had home made ice cream in Pine, and Fossil Creek is just up the road. The view of Strawberry Valley is amazing, just relaxing on the deck was one of our favorite things to do. I do not have one negative thing to say about our stay. Highly recommend the Chalet, you will not be disappointed. Everything in the description is accurate.

The house is absolutely beautiful and equipped with everything you could imagine! The pictures do not even give it justice! Jay showed us everything there was to know about the house and was so very welcoming! It can't be easy leaving strangers in your home. We will definitely stay there again in the future!

This is an amazing home and Jay and Astrid did a great job of welcoming us. The little touches they left made us feel like we were in a 4 star resort. We were able to have our whole family and still feel like we were not in each other's space. The kitchen and linen closets were well supplied. We brought lots of things to make the stay more like home and they were not needed. Everything we could have wanted was there. We went fishing and hiking and took the grandkids to the goat ranch. The goats and llamas were a big hit. It could not have been a nicer trip. Jay and Astrid were great to work with.

This is one of the nicer places you will rent. Jay and Astrid give you the "welcome" tour and make sure you're comfortable. They are somewhat apprehensive about renting because of the potential damage that could occur. However, it is very understandable because of how nice the property is. The place is big, quiet and comfortable. Plenty of fresh towels, clean sheets and a kitchen for any cook complete with anything you might need. We used the kitchen to the fullest extent, went on walks in the neighborhood and visited a nearby goat (cheese) farm.. When we left, we really felt inspired to really clean up so that the experience was a positive one for Jay and Astrid as well. Thanks Jay and Astrid!
