We have traveled extensively as a family and frequently rent a vacation home. I can state that this home is unequivocally the nicest rental we've ever stayed in. It's beautifully furnished and has an open floor plan with jaw dropping views of Puget Sound from the deck, living room and dining area. The owners have clearly taken pains to ensure that their guests have everything they need. It didn't feel like a vacation rental, but rather a well loved home. We didn't lack for anything and were loathe to leave at the end of our stay. We're already planning a return visit and hope to be able to stay here again. Thank you so much Rick and Alexandra for being such great hosts!

We spent a week of quiet relaxation here. Part of the week my greyhound and I were joined by my girlfriend, and the rest of the week we were joined by my boyfriend and his terrier. Everyone loved their time here, including the dogs. The terrier loved the dog run and easy access to going out. My greyhound doesn't do stairs well, but it was no problem walking him out front. The house is comfortable and well-appointed and felt like home from the get go. The entire experience of initial communication and making reservations was absolutely top-notch. The owners are responsive and extremely helpful. The house itself is open and spacious, yet cozy and homey. Everything we needed to have a great week was there. The setting is quiet and private and the view is stunning. Being close to the state park is a bonus, and having an off leash park in Eastsound, just a few minutes away, is a double bonus. My girlfriend and I spent hours on the deck reading and sunning and hearing nothing but the birds singing. My boyfriend loved the proximity to hiking trails. We put the quality gas grill and kitchen to great use. Furniture is attractive and comfortable, decor and colors charming, everything very clean. This turned out to be one of our best vacations ever and we will probably be return guests. I highly recommend this house and this location. Folks in Eastsound are very friendly and the town is charming for dining out, shopping and roaming about. And then it's nice to come "home" to this perch in the middle of the forest with an outlook to water and mountains. Wow!

My family and I came out to visit the San Juan Islands in May. This home was beautiful in everyway. The owner described the home to me in detail, but was pleasanty surprised when it was so much more than he said. The ambiance and setting was magnificent. Out of the three homes we've stayed in, this home was by far the most beautiful, scenic and memorable. Woods surround the home and it is very private. We were all very thrilled to have stayed here and would love to come back for another visit, for a longer stay. Highly recommended!!!!

My family and I had a wonderful time in this cozy home. The home is just minutes away from Moran state park with lots walking trails and amazing views. There are many activities you can do hiking, biking, walking, kayaking everything for the outdoor lover but if all you want to do is stay home and relax then is just the right place as well so peaceful and cozy. The house was well stocked of items you might need (basic spices, toiletries, etc.) the list of movies and games is so extensive everyone can get a chance to pick a favorite one. The home was very clean, neat and organized with plenty of useful information for those are staying there. I loved the fact that it was so easy to arrange our stay and Rick answered all my emails immediately and gave me lots of information. We all had a great time that we're already planing on going back soon. It truly was a little piece of heaven on earth! Thanks Rick & Alexandra for sharing your home with the rest of us!

We had a wonderful 11 days on Orcas in this fabulous vacation rental. It truly was our home away from home. It is fully equipped with everything and anything you might need and the beds are very comfortable. Having our two dogs along and the enclosed yard was perfect. The view, weather, surroundings, and hikes were incredible! We look forward to visiting again. Thank you for your warm hospitality Rick.

This house is everything the website claims, and more! We were amazed at how clean and welcoming it is, and the view really is wonderful. Despite being "dog friendly" there was absolutely no pet odor. Our dachshund loved the private dog yard off the deck, and we loved not having to leash him to let him outside. Moran Park is very close (walking distance) and the drive to Mt. Constitution was short and pleasant. (We did have to walk the last mile due to snow, but it was a beautiful walk.) The kitchen really is fully equipped, unlike some other vacation rentals we're stayed in. All in all, one of the best vacation rentals ever. Thank you so much for letting us stay!
Owners response:
Hello Katherine,

My husband, dog and I stayed here last year for our honeymoon. We loved it and vowed to come back. We did--for our first anniversary--and we intend to make an annual tradition out of it. I'm writing this on our last afternoon here and I'm sad that we're leaving tomorrow.
The view is amazing, regardless of weather. We've watched storms roll in from the coziness of inside and bald eagles, sunsets and deer from the deck. The house is clean and stocked with anything you could need. Our dog loves it too and it's so nice to have the convenience of a fenced area for him. There are games, puzzles, movies and music at the house so you don't have to pack all that with you. There's plenty to keep you entertained but we spend time just looking out at the water, sipping wine and relaxing unless we're hiking. The hiking in nearby Moran State Park (and elsewhere on the island) is great with a variety of easily accessible trails. If that's not your thing, Eastsound is just 10 minutes away with restaurants, little shops and a full grocery store.
The owners have been very easy to deal with and have obviously done a lot to make their home welcoming. We can't wait until we return next year!

My family (2 adults, 9-year-old, and dog) spent 4 very happy days here in late December. For us, the house was perfect! The gorgeous view sets the tone - but in addition, a wonderful layout, generously-stocked kitchen, enclosed dog run, and fantastic selection of movies, puzzles etc made us all feel welcome, and enabled us to fully relax and recharge. The proximity to Moran State Park is also fantastic! We enjoyed several spectacular hikes, easily accessible from the house. The owners were wonderful to deal with, even following through to locate and return a small and seemingly-insignificant item we had left. The house is perfectly clean and well-maintained. Overall, this place is a gem!

Our stay in this home was comfortable, relaxing, and quiet - exactly what we had been looking for. The home is beautiful and very clean, with a view of the sound that's out of this world. Several deer and a bald eagle highlighted our visits to the yard and deck, and we loved watching the ferries, sailboats, and water planes come and go in the distance. The owners are extremely nice, and even granted us a special request that made our stay an even better experience. I would recommend a getaway to this home to anyone!

First off I have to agree with all the reviews that state "the pictures do not do this home justice". My wife and I rented this home with my brother and his wife for just a weekend get away. We were all so pleasantly surprised how spacious, cozy and beautiful this home is.
The home has wi-fi, phone, and satellite tv, all amenities we chose not use but rather enjoy the quiet and the expansive views.
Our Chow Chow Milo LOVED sitting on the porch and taking in the sounds of the wildlife and the feeling the cool breeze.
The owners are completely down to earth and quite possibly the easiest and kindest I have dealt with in the many years of vacation rentals. I HIGHLY recommend taking advantage of this truly hidden gem on Orcas Island.

My husband and I rented this property with another couple and spent the Thanksgiving holiday there. It was an amazing home and I would recommend it to anyone. The photos of the home show it off well, although I must say that the views and the property are even more beautiful in person. We arrived there in the dark on Thursday evening so we were unsure what to expect in the morning, and woke up to a gorgeous sunrise over East Sound. Very beautiful. We had two dogs with us - a border collie and a German Shepherd - and they loved the home as well. The dog run is great if you have dogs and there are plenty of dog friendly hikes all over the island. We enjoyed exploring Moran State Park, which is practically right next door to this home, and the Turtleback Mountain trails. The home was very clean and had all the amenities you could need. Trust me....we made Thanksgiving dinner here and the kitchen is very well stocked! The little town of East Sound is close and had some nice restaurants and shops. We had the most wonderful time and would definitely consider renting this home again. Thank you for a great Thanksgiving vacation!!!!

Stayed for four nights beginning of October. Had a great stay. Loved that everything was on one floor!!Well equipped kitchen. Lovely view of ocean & a deck for spending many hours. The dogs loved the yard & the deck for "watching things that dogs watch"!! Loved the accessibility to hikes; very short drive of 5 min. or less. Nice walk around the Lake. Hope to return next fall!!

We had such a great time at this house. We were traveling as 2 families and this house was perfect. The view was amazing and the house was perfectly set up. We were traveling with two small children, 7 months and 14 months old, so we needed a comfortable house to hang out in when they were napping and off to their early bedtimes. There were games and toys in on of the bedrooms for entertainment, which was great because we forgot to bring them.
We were close to a great trail and hiked around the lake. The town was only about 15 minutes away and had lots of great little shops. The owner was very friendly and even provided us with a great list of shops, entertainment and restaurants.
I would highly recommend this property to anyone and hope to go back one day.

We just got home this evening from Orcas but I wanted to take a minute to send a very sincere thank you for allowing us to rent your house on Orcas Island. WOW - what beautiful home - it is truly a 5 star home in every aspect - from the outstanding detail to attention - to the large and functional rooms to the amazing view. We totally enjoyed our stay and had a great and very relaxing time. Your home is nicer than most 5 star hotels and was warm and inviting. You have done a great job in decorating and giving it that very warm - "homey" feel. We were very fortunate to have nice sunny weather for our stay and enjoyed touring the island.
Our dogs loved the great dog run - what a nice way to have it enclosed and attached to the deck. I took them on two large walks every day and they just loved the island.
Hopefully - we can rent your place again in the future.
Once again - you have a beautiful home and our sincere thanks in letting us rent and enjoy it.
Sincerely

We spent a fantastic week in Orcas the 1st week of June and this house worked out great. We were traveling with our dog and 1 year old daughter and the house was perfectly accomodating for a family. The house is modern, clean, has tasteful furnishings, and an absolutely spectacular view. We've used VRBO a number of times and this is the best value we've seen hands down. We would love to come back and would definitely stay here on our next visit to Orcas.

We could not have been more thrilled when we
walked in the front door. The home is beautiful and
extremely comfortable. You can't begin to prepare
yourself for the amazing view that awaits you from
the living room, dining room and back deck. We
just loved hanging out in the home, playing games
& watching movies (it was spring break & the
weather was cool & overcast but that didn't deter us
one bit....we still loved it!) Everything you could
possibly need was there....games, movies, books,
soft linens, dishes, cookware. Truly, what a
wonderful place to spend a vacation. We can't wait
to come back!

We will definitely make a trip back to this hidden treasure. The home is beautifully decorated - we felt as if we were in a hotel. Very clean and well kept. The view was spectacular from the living room and deck. Quiet is an understatement. Eagles, deer, rabbits - lots of wildlife right outside the door. Great selection of movies and books. We celebrated our 30th anniversary here and we can't think of anywhere else we would have rather been.

My wife and I have been planning to go to the San Juans for the longest time. Finally we went and it was incredible. The views are fantastic. This home was so well decorated, very warm and friendly. My kids couldn't believe the deer would come right up to the front door to eat! Very clean and comfortable inside. The island even in Feb. offered hikes, sightseeing, but overall just a great place to relax and unwind. And if we wanted to stay connected to the "outside world" there was always high speed WIFI and Directv.

We really enjoyed this home. It was fully stocked with everything we needed, gets lots of light and sun which we like, and has a quiet location with a great view. We especially like relaxing and eating on the deck. The fenced dog run that joins the deck is also good if you want to bring a dog. It is located within walking distance to the Cascade Lake trail in Moran Park. We are going to rent it again this year for multiple weeks. The weather on Orcas Island is perfect for outdoor activities all summer long.Recommended things to do:Visit Cafe Olga – get a blackberry pie – expensive but worth it.You can also pick blackberries in late August or early September.Hike the Mountain Lake loop in Moran Park, and Turtleback mountainCountry Corner Cellars is a very helpful and friendly wine store.
