Great Rental!

Review submitted: June 16, 2014   Date of arrival: June 8, 2014

Wow, wow, wow! This house, decor and views are beautiful. The home was well equipped, maintained and stocked. It exceeded all expectations. 5 bedrooms with bedding for couples (3 with mountain views), office, 3.5 baths, 3 fireplaces, 2 large decks and several patios. Kitchen had everything needed. Appliances are high end. Loved the washer and dryer. House is located within 1 hour of many attractions in all directions: Garden of The Gods, Air Force Academy Chapel, Pikes Peak, River Rafting, Mine Tours, Continental Divide, and many parks. We enjoyed great weather and several sunsets from the porches. We saw lots of deer right from the house, and elk, a mountain lion, birds and prairie dogs along the dirt road up to the house. Cell (Verizon, Sprint & ATT) and wireless reception at the house were good.

Dishwasher stopped working on our second day. Maintenance attempted to fix the next day, but could not, so we spent the majority of the week hand washing and drying cookware and dish ware for 8 people - bummer.

Notes: No hair dryer, the house phone rings several times each evening with solicitation calls, house accommodates 10 but dining table only seats 6 comfortably / 8 tightly and only had 8 bath towels and minimal wash cloths & hand towels, and 4 wheel drive is recommended.

Positive new experience

Review submitted: July 11, 2013   Date of arrival: July 3, 2013

We recently stayed at this vacation home in Colorado with our 5 foster kids and 2 grandkids and had a wonderful time. Everything was clean and well maintained. The home is amazing, the view is amazing--as well as the surroundings. This was the first time we had chosen a vacation home instead of a hotel. We ended up spending more time at the home than sightseeing because the kids were all so content to just play outside. Because the kids are up with the sun, we did miss the windowcoverings, but completely understand that they would have blocked the wonderful view. The listing does probably need to include a little bit more of a description of the last few curves of the road approaching the house--had we not had some previous experience driving on some of those crazy roads in the area, we may have been very intimidated by the last couple of curves/hills!
