No way of contact the owner

Review submitted: April 2, 2014   Date of arrival: March 28, 2014

The cabin itself was gorgeous but lack the welcome from the owner, there were some problems like fireplace wouldn't start, internet and hot tub keys, it would be nice if there was an emergency phone number for us to contact so we could enjoy our staying at the cabin. plus we were stuck Sunday morning because driveway was covered w snow, we couldn't get out!!

Cabin stay.....

Review submitted: January 27, 2014   Date of arrival: January 24, 2014

Overall for the price it was average, cabin is cute and cozy. Upon arriving there was a note the toilet flusher was broke that we would have to flush (by sticking your hand in the bowl) . I called the owner and the problem was taking care of immediately. We went out to start our burgers on the outside grill and there was no gas in the tank. Again contacted the owner and this was taken care of (after we made them on the stove). Went to hook up to the internet and followed there instructions and it would not connect. I contacted the owner and got no respond. Also, no shove to clean off the front walk way and steps. A lot of lights out through out the cabin. The freezer was not cleaned out from previous renters or the cleaning people before we came. Not sure why there is not a check list for the cleaning people.

Our Honeymoon

Review submitted: October 24, 2013   Date of arrival: October 13, 2013

We had a great time at the cabin. Place was clean and ready when we arrived. The only BAD part of the cabin was there was no home phone in the cabin. Our Boost cell phones couldn't connect to the towers. ONLY EMERGANCY PHONE CALLS COULD BE MADE FROM CABIN. If I'm right, only contract main cell phone (Verizon, Sprint, etc.)could connect to the towers and call out. Not good for non-contract cell phone families/individuals.

Overall my wife and I give a 9 out of 10.

Thanks.

Great Getaway

Review submitted: September 6, 2013   Date of arrival: August 23, 2013

A relaxing weekend away from home. This cabin was great! Only downfall was close proximity to major highway/traffic noise, but the place was beautiful and spacious. Hot tub was wonderful!

Nice Cabin

Review submitted: August 29, 2013   Date of arrival: August 18, 2013

The cabin was great, only had a little trouble finding it, not marked well and no GPS directions because no address. We loved the cabin and had lots of room for 2 families. Layout is perfect. There were no chairs on porch and the chairs around back were really dirty, so we didn't even sit on them. Location was convenient, but traffic was a little too close for us. Cabin is very close to the main road. Inside was clean, towels and sheets provided as stated. Owner was helpful when we contacted her. Had a great stay. Thanks!

Amazing family get away!

Review submitted: August 26, 2013   Date of arrival: August 21, 2013

This was the perfect escape from the Texas heat! The weather, even the occasional rain, was so refreshing. The scenery was gorgeous. And I can't say enough about the cabin. It was was everything we were looking for to have a few days away with our family. When our kids were small we took some trips and stayed in cabins in the East Texas area. We made some wonderful memories doing that. Your cabin provided that same opportunity for us to make memories with our grand children.
The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Very comfortable beds, and plenty of towels. We were told ahead of time what we would need to bring, so we were prepared. The only thing I would say as needing a little attention was the outdoor furniture. It was somewhat dirty from the trees overhead and webs. We did not eat or sit out back to use them, so it didn't really matter to us. Overall, the cabin was great, the price was very reasonable, and there was a lot to do in the area when we did want to leave the cabin. Thanks so much. I know anyone looking for a getaway in the Deep Creek Lake area could do no better than this cabin. J and M from Texas

My family visited Deep Creek for our vacation this year. I was extremely happy with this rental property. the cabin is gorgeous and well equipped. My husband hadn't seen the property but was pleasantly surprised when we got here. I love how the owner has thought of so many little details especially where children or families with babies are involved. I had to email her during my stay and she replied promptly. Very happy experience and would love to visit again.

The cabin was a fun and enjoyable place. I went with my parents, (seniors) my sister and her two kids (teenagers) and my wife and I with our 7 month old baby. The high chair and pack and play were excellent and we didn't have to pack the car with those items. The kids enjoyed the hot-tub and Foosball table. I wish we had more time to stay, it was a fun and relaxing time. I look forward to staying there again on a future trip to Maryland.

Cabin at deep creek

Review submitted: July 21, 2013   Date of arrival: July 15, 2013

We had an amazing my time at the cabin. Had a little problem with the cleaning service but it was immediately fixed. Great time and would stay there again. Would suggest a second air conditioner unit or another ceiling fan, it does get quite hot in the summer. Great for kids too! Well maintained cabin.

Charming, cozy weekend getaway

Review submitted: March 4, 2013   Date of arrival: March 1, 2013

My husband and I just got back from a weekend ski trip with another couple and loved this cabin! It was clean and beautifully decorated. We had plenty of room to spread out and could have even accommodated another couple and still had plenty of room. The hot tub was a wonderful way to end each day of skiing. It was very relaxing but could have been a bit hotter. The proximity to the highway was not an issue at all. It was a short 5 min drive to the Wisp. We visit The Wisp often and will definitely stay at this cabin again without hesitation.

Wonderful winter family trip

Review submitted: February 23, 2013   Date of arrival: February 19, 2013

My family spent 3 days and two nights at this beautiful cabin. The cabin was very large and spacious and beautifully decorated. We had a ball sledding down the hills on both sides of the cabin and then coming in to warm up by the cozy fireplace. Our two boys were thrilled with the play station, foosball table and board games. The cabin is centrally located to everything, 6 miles from Wisp ski lodge and minutes away from excellent dining . The owner was very helpful and accessible and the cabin was above and beyond our expectations. Our family will be back soon and I would recommend this property to anyone looking to have a great time in Deep Creek!

Amazing and affordable.

Review submitted: February 21, 2013   Date of arrival: February 11, 2013

My fiancé and I stayed for a few days and it was AMAZING. so beautiful and really affordable. The owner was really easy to get a hold of. We loved sitting in front of the fireplace. It was extremely clean and very comfortable. I'm looking forward to coming back in the summer. There was tons if stuff to do around the area that we didn't have time to do.

Owners response: I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Our goal is to provide a clean and cozy environment. There are so many things to do in the summer. Swallow Falls state park is amazing and Deep Creek state park is approximately 5 minutes away and has a nice beach and boat ramp. There is also a boat and jet ski rental place within 5 minutes. Don't forget Uno's has a great outside restaurant in the summer and is located right on the lake within 5 minutes from the cabin. I could go on and on!! Summer in Deep Creek is one of favorite times. We look forward to having you and your guests this summer.

Dirty and disappointing

Review submitted: February 12, 2013   Date of arrival: February 1, 2013

We had stayed at this cabin a few years ago and it had been very clean and nice. This time, it had not been cleaned since the last guests. The beds were not made and there was a heap of dirty linens in the laundry room. There were lots of long hairs in the bathroom sink and the toilet was dirty.

I called the owner who offered to refund me part of our rent and not have it cleaned or ask the cleaning people to come and clean. I chose to clean myself and save some money. Despite calling the owner and leaving a message as a reminder that we agreed I would receive a refund, I have not received a return call or a refund.

It is a nice cabin and if it had been well maintained, staying there would have been a pleasure. There are three nice bedroom as well as a sleeping loft. The downstairs was a great place for teens with board games, foosball and their own t.v. space.

It is a bit of a drive from WISP ski resort but the price of the cabin takes this into consideration.

Owners response: I apologize for the inconvenience that you experienced. The previous renters had not checked out on time. I did offer to have the cleaning company come or offered a partial refund. You did choose the partial refund. We did issue the refund in the amount of $150.00 and it did clear. We pride ourselves on keeping a cabin clean and updated for families to create good memories. As you can see from all of our previous reviews we keep everything very clean and inviting for our guests. I cannot apologize enough for your inconvenience.

Cozy cabin in the woods

Review submitted: January 31, 2013   Date of arrival: January 25, 2013

We had a wonderful time at Deep Creek Lake. The cabin was everything we hoped for. It was clean, beautiful, more than large enough for our family of 4. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub after snow tubing and skating at Wisp.

New Years Weekend

Review submitted: January 10, 2013   Date of arrival: December 29, 2012

This cabin is a great bang for your buck! We were attracted to the price and the fact that there was no holiday surcharge and were very impressed when we arrived. 7 friends and myself stayed for 3 nights over the holiday weekend. Everything was very clean and it is very spacious. Close proximity to stores and The Wisp; we were able to enjoy the hot tub and fireplaces and had a very nice time! Great weekend getaway!

Wonderful experience

Review submitted: January 9, 2013   Date of arrival: January 4, 2013

We had a great time at this cabin. There were four of us and we had plenty of room. It was also close to Wisp, which was nice. We would have loved more lighting outside so we could have used the hot tub at night. The only thing we needed that wasn't there was detergent for the dishwasher. Overall though, a great experience and I would recommend this cabin.

Very happy with our stay at the cabin. The house is very spacious and well furnished. Everything was ready as expected. The dual fireplaces were very nice and we had lots of fun with the foosball table. Overall I would stay there again and recommend it to others.

Totally Amazing!!!

Review submitted: October 30, 2012   Date of arrival: October 19, 2012

This cabin was more than we could have imagined!!! You do not have lake view and it is on the main street, so I was a bit reserved, BUT I can't wait to go back!! Conveniently located and extremely spacious for it's size!! Made for a wonderfully affordable Deep Creek get-a-way :)

Be sure to come with "things" you will need, such as trash bags, dish soap, but if you forget (as I did), there's an awesome little grocery store acrss the street, with a VERY nice butcher.

We took an hour and a half hike through the waterfalls (only 15 minutes away) and have breath taking pictures. I was a perfect weekend and totally enjoyed just being together in front of the fire place.

Cozy Cabin in the Mountains

Review submitted: October 10, 2012   Date of arrival: October 8, 2012

Our 3 night getaway to this cabin in Deep Creek was very lovely. After hiking at Swallow Falls, we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and then hanging out by the fireplace. Playing fooseball was a lot of fun, even though my skills definately need some work! We found a local brew pub nearby, Mountain State Brewing, that had delicious food and drinks. Overall, our stay has been pretty great. We would definately visit again with a larger group, since there are many sleeping spaces. The cabin was much more than we expected, very clean and cozy!

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Owners response: I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay!! I'm glad the new foosball table was a hit and that the hot tub was relaxing after your hike. Your visit to Deep Creek was at a perfect time of the year. There is no better place to spend a fall weekend. Thank you so much for choosing our cabin for your fall getaway.

Not as advertised

Review submitted: October 7, 2012   Date of arrival: September 28, 2012

The cabin itself was beautiful and extremely clean, road noise didn't bother us, and we really enjoyed the fire pit. Cons were broken fireplace on basement level, no foosball table, grill didn't work and had cobwebs in it and broken heat shield, hot tub was set and locked at 100F which was way too cool for a tub especially in the fall. We contacted the owner and overall I'm disappointed with the lack of response...she said we could buy propane and get reimbursed (wasnt worth the trouble as we were only there for the weekend and there was no grilling tools so we'd have to go buy those too). We read through the guest book and saw the same complaints about some of these things since June! If you don't care about amenities and just want a clean pretty cabin then this is the place for you.

Recommended for: families with teenagers, girls getaway

Owners response: I'm glad that your enjoyed your time around the fire pit!! Unfortunately we did have a few rowdy renters that did break the foosball table even after it was repaired. The new foosball table did arrive on Monday. The basement fireplace does indeed work, it is serviced before and after every renter. There were renters before and after your stay that did use it and did not report any problems. The hot tub is also serviced before and after every renter. Unfortunately I do not live in the area so if somebody writes something in our guest book I do not see it. The grill has also been replaced. I thought you meant it was out of propane which we do keep two tanks onsite. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and your guests. We will continue to add and update our cabin throughout the years.
Thank you

VERY Clean and Comfy, but faces highway

Review submitted: September 19, 2012   Date of arrival: September 7, 2012

This a great place, very clean!!! Clean and hot hot tub. Owner responsive to all requests inquiries. Only issue was that the foosball table was broken, but the owner compensated us for this issue. Other issue is that the lovely cabin faces a major highway (garret state highway). So it's bit noisy. With ear plugs and the fan on...the noise was not bad at all at night. So I'd stay there again given how responsive the owner was, but if you're looking for seclusion... you'd want to pick another location.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with teenagers, sight seeing, tourists without a car

Owners response: I'm glad you enjoyed your time in our cabin and we hope you will come again. I apologize about the foosball table, unfortunately there were some rowdy renters that destroyed the table. However, it has been replaced with a new one!!

Girls Weekend to celebrate a 50th Birthday

Review submitted: June 14, 2012   Date of arrival: June 8, 2012

We had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed the cabin very much. There were 5 of us and we had plenty of room! The cabin was clean and as pictured. We enjoyed the hot tub and had an outdoor camp fire at night. The owner was very good about answering our questions before our arrival. We did have to make a trip to the store for tissue, toilet paper and paper towel so I would suggest bringing those items with you. We all said that we would like to stay there again next year. We spent one day at Swallow Falls Canyon Trail where we enjoyed hiking and swimming in the falls. Our only regret is that we didn't plan for a longer vacation!

A very beautiful cozy log cabin...

Review submitted: May 7, 2012   Date of arrival: May 4, 2012

Our overall experience was good at this cabin. We are adults between 25 - 35 age group, and mostly married, we stayed there for 2 days only, and we were very satisfied with it. The cabin was exactly the same as described here on VRBO. It was cozy, quite and peaceful. The bedrooms were cozy, well maintained, and clean.

There were couple of problems we had to face and one of them was mainly due to the bath-tub water-logging. Water was getting logged inside the bath-tub for long time after every shower, and it was almost unusable for us during our stay. We didn't prefer to use it thought it'll damage more and water will be poured on the whole bathroom floor instead, we used the other bathroom in the basement. This was a little bit awkward and inconvenient since we were 10 folks and just one bathroom was there to use. Anyway, we informed the property owner immediately on Saturday morning and left a voice mail to her regarding this issue. Patricia was really co-operative on this, later she returned my call and left me a voice mail that the bathroom repair guy is on his way to fix it but I guess no one showed up during the day. We too had gone out for rafting and we could not follow-up with Patricia during the day as we returned from rafting after 7:00 PM.

Also, I also quickly wanted point out one more thing, the hot tub does not seem to keep the water warm at 104 F as mentioned, and this really did not help to us since we were tired after the rafting, we thought of getting relaxed in to the hot tub but it didn't really help us. Also, too much chlorine was coming in to the hot tub when we were increasing the speed of the controls for massaging. The hot tub may be required to fix, not really sure what the issue was.

Overall, it is a great cabin for 8-10 people, the only thing which was missing here was the lake view but that's not a big deal. You get what you spend for. There cannot be a better choice than this cabin in deep creek lake area if you want to save money too. Patricia was very co-operative and she tried her best she could regarding the bath tub issue. We ignored that thing totally as there are other good things about this cabin too.

Thanks.

Recommended for: sight seeing

Owners response: Thank you so much for your kind remarks regarding our cabin. We try to make it as comfortable as possible for our guests. I apologize about the slow drainage in the tub. A repairman did come to fix the problem while you were out, unfortunately it was not something that could be fixed that day. It has since been repaired and will be ready for your next visit as well as the hot tub!!

Girls get away

Review submitted: October 15, 2011   Date of arrival: July 29, 2011

Cute little cabin, only missing a bigger table for card playing. We had a wonderful weekend there and plan on renting it again. There was a mix up with the key for the hot tub, but the owner who was very pleasant told us where to find a spare. The place was very clean, the front had some weeds but we sat there and pulled some.
