Renovated! in Norris Lake

Great Location your Boating Family!

We have now rented this house multiple times, and we have had a great expeience. We like the proximity to Ohio (shorter drive time than other parts of Norris Lake), and if you are towing a trailer, you have easy access to the house from the highway. There is plenty of room for your car as well as your boat trailer (our boat is 23' long). It can be tight to turn your car and trailer around on the street in front of the house, however, so plan accordingly. Our family is made up of a lot of watersports enthusiasts and this end of the lake is outstanding for smooth water for slalom, barefoot and wakeboard runs throughout the day.

The dock area is really nice - if you love your boat and don't want to leave it in the water to get smacked around by passing boat wakes all day, the hydro-hoist is a must-have. On our first visit, the lake was at normal pool level and at the end of the dock, the depth was in the 35-40' range, which is excellent. On our second visit, the lake was WAY down, and yet we still had between 12 and 15' of water at the end of the dock. The dock is covered, too, which is nice to keep the boat somewhat dry if it rains.

The covered deck out back and weber charcoal grill is a great place to relax after a day on the water. There is also a large fire pit between the house and dock, which we used several times after the sun set.

Twin cove marina is only a few miles away and that is were we launch our boat - no cost to launch there. The ramp this past time was hard to use due to lower water so keep that in mind.

The house itself is very clean and well organized. WiFi is there to stream music, check email, etc. The loft area can sleep a lot of kids at once and they love climbing up the cool library-style ladder to get up there. If you are looking for super-fancy, 5 star accomodations (which defeats the whole purpose of a cool lakefront cottage in my opinion), you might want to go over to Deerfield Resort. The only thing to be careful of are the steps down to the dock. All the wood/steps are in very good repair, but it a fairly steep hill so have kids and older adults be very careful walking down.

We love this place and will keep coming back in 2013 - we highly recommend renting it!
