vacation rental description
Only125 steps from Lake Erie and nearly a century old, this historical house has been updated and newly furnished. Having been built in 1920, it is the second oldest house in this subdivision on Huron’s west side and it allows you to step back to a time of peaceful relaxation. The house is situated on four lots providing huge yard space in a tranquil, quiet neighborhood. WiFi is available throughout the house.
Views of the lake can be seen from the living room and dining area, as well as the first floor bedroom, the master bedroom, and the third floor. The wide verandah style front porch runs the length of the house and is perfect for taking in the view of the lake, relaxing, reading, and talking with friends and family.
The dining table seats eight comfortably and is readily accessible to the remodeled kitchen equipped with a large five-burner gas range and two ovens. A new queen size bed is on the first floor in a small room off the living room and a half bath adjoins this room.
The second floor contains the other new queen size beds. One is in the spacious master bedroom (21’x 15’), and the other is in the guest bedroom (13’ x 14’). A full size futon is located on the very large third floor (30’ x 15’).
In the full basement, you will find the one thing older than the house itself, an antique tournament size 9’ pocket billiards table that dates back to the 1880’s. A Queen Size Futon is situated in the billiard room. There is also a separate laundry room with washer and dryer.
The house is so comfortable and the sound of the waves is so soothing that it will be hard to leave it to enjoy the variety of amenities offered by Cedar Point, the Lake Erie Islands, the Huron boat basin, local golf courses & wineries, Thomas Edison’s birth place (located in Milan), the Hayes Presidential Center (the first presidential library and museum located in Fremont), The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (located in Cleveland), and other nearby attractions.
The turn-off from Cleveland Road /Rte. 6 onto the Cedar Point Road (also known as The Chaucee entrance) is just two and one half miles from the house. This allows you to visit the park in the morning, return to the house for a late lunch, a siesta, or dinner and then go back to the park for the evening hours.
Please note, smoking is not allowed in the house. Doing so will result in the loss of part or all of the security deposit.
