Big Lake Private Island in Gaylord

Rent an island for a week!  Big Lake island is over 4 acres with nearly 2,000 feet of mostly sandy waterfront on all-sports Big Lake.  Yes, you would be the only one on the island!

Big Lake is approximately 120 acres and up to 80 ft. deep.  The lake is spring fed and clean.  It is located just east of Gaylord, a short drive from I-75.  There is a public boat launch and a variety of species of fish and most fishermen enjoy fishing the lake.

The property has a 2,200 square foot log cabin (including the enclosed porch) and a 345 square foot guest cottage.  Much of the exterior has been covered with stone.  The main cabin includes 3 bedrooms and one bath.  It will sleep 11.  There are vaulted ceilings in an open floor plan and a stone fireplace stretches over 2 stories.  It has an updated kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances.  There are 2 TV's and satellite service.  The guest cottage sleeps 2 and has a full bath.  There is a large hard space area with lots of seating and a barbeque just outside the double doors from the dining room.

There is plenty of parking on the mainland.  You'll have access to a pontoon boat, a canoe, 2 paddle boats and a golf cart for getting around the island.  There are a couple of acres that are grass and open and the rest of the island is wooded.  It is nicely landscaped and there is a path around the island.

View the sun as it comes up and as it goes down on this one of a kind northern Michigan treasure.  Only 2 weeks will be made available each year.
