Surrounded by a working orchard, this eight bedroom home is a bucolic island of privacy just eight minutes from the magnificent Columbia River and great dining and shopping in charming Hood River. Reception, reunion, or corporate meeting, this is the perfect place for your large group to come together in a spot that's serene, yet not too secluded. Nestled on the edge of a property filled with row after row of fruit trees, its large lawn, lush landscaped property, and stunning vistas in every direction could be the perfect place for your special event.

Unless it's a royal wedding, your guests probably won't need a hotel. The Orchard View Estate will sleep 29 people. As they wind around the circular driveway and stop in front of the elegant columns, they'll feel like they've arrived at a country estate. Except for the spacious master bedroom with a full bathroom, king bed, and queen sleeper sofa, the main level is prime entertaining space. Large rooms with big windows allow your guests to mingle with full views of the surrounding property, and there's lots of counter space for their drinks and hors d'oeuvres plates. The newlyweds (or anyone!) can pose under the big arch and, with a wonderful view of Mount Hood in the distance, capture the moment for the picture album.

The game room is the perfect place to set up the music. Live band or DJ, guests can dance to their favorite tunes. Others can rack 'em up on the full size slate pool table for a friendly game. There's another full bathroom down here and three more bedrooms. In one bedroom you'll find a bunk with a full bed on the bottom and twin on the top. In the second, there are three bunk beds. The third is two rooms in one: one room has a queen bed. Go through the door and there's a queen pull-out couch and a twin bunk. Head to the upper level to find four more bedrooms, each with a queen, and one an with ottoman that can be converted into two twin beds.

A big place like this needs a big kitchen, and the Estate has it. Plenty of counter space for those platters as you gear up for the reception, or to just feed that hungry bunch you've brought together. The piggy-back stove, big frige, six-burner stove, microwave, and double sink make preparing meals easier.

Kids will love it here. If you can pull them away from the play area, (which includes a great tree house and slide), make the eight minute trip over to Hood River. Right on the magnificent Columbia Gorge, Hood River is a magnet for windsurfing enthusiasts from all around the world. There's also rafting, hiking, and fishing somewhere nearby. Before tourism developed to compete with it, the fruit industry reigned supreme in this area. It still grows world-renowned apples and pears. Hop on the Mount Hood Railroad and make the rounds on the Fruit Loop as it meanders through all the beautiful orchards, meadows and vineyards in the valley. Or, visit the Fruit Company or Full Sail Brewery just minutes away. For wine lovers, there are 19 wineries around Mount Hood and a number of tours will help you experience them.

That's just summer! Skiers who stay at the Orchard Estate will be just 22 minutes from Mount Hood Meadows and 50 minutes from Skibowl down the road near Government Camp.
