Watauga River Cabins in Johnson City

Watauga River Cabins consists of 3 cabin units -
one upstairs and the other two downstairs. It is located on the banks
of the Watauga River, halfway between Johnson City and
Elizabethton. The lodge sits on 5 acres with over 600 feet of river
frontage.

The upstairs cabin unit (named Laurels) as well as the downstairs
cabin(named Hemlock) each
have over 600 square feet of living space consisting of one bedroom -
with queen bed, one bath, full kitchen and living area (with a queen
sleeper sofa hideaway bed). The second downstairs unit (named Sycamore)
has queen bed in bedroom plus bunk beds and loft. Extra air mattresses
are available for any room upon request. Each unit has double doors for
access and view to the river. The upstairs unit has a balcony at both
ends -- one end looks down at the river and the other end looks toward
the road to meadows beyond.
All linens are included -- all you have to do is pick
up some food and bring your personal items -- everything else you
would need is furnished. Kitchens are fully equipped with dishes,
cookware, toaster, coffee maker as well microwave. All
rooms have heat/air conditioning as well as ceiling fans and there
are Satellite TV's/VCR's; central laundry
facilities and gas grill are available.

There is also a full hook-up RV pad with 50 amp service, located on
the river.

Very convenient to both Johnson City and Elizabethton (10 minutes)
as well as Roan Mountain, Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain and
Hawksnest ski resorts (45-60 minutes). Immediately adjacent to the
lodge is the Watauga River which is about 100 feet wide and is home
to some of the finest Trout fishing in the Eastern United States.
Trout species in the Watauga River are Rainbow, Brook and Brown as
well as several types of Bass and various non-game species. This
lower part of the Watauga has been designated as the "Quality Trout
Zone."

Future plans include horse friendly cabin rentals with stables and
fenced in area. Riding now available on 150 adjoining acres along
the scenic Watauga River bank.
