Luxurious Guest Casita with Stunning Mountain Views in Santa Barbara

Come stay in this luxurious newly built and furnished Mediterranean-style 2nd story casita (or guest studio) in beautiful Santa Barbara. Completed, from ground up, August 2008, the casita includes such details as gorgeous reclaimed Canadian Douglas Fir wood floors, French entry doors, and custom maple kitchen cabinets with granite tile counter tops. 

The casita encompasses the entire 2nd floor above a detached, free-standing garage--no shared walls and no living spaces below!  At 450 square feet inside, it offers a spacious comfortable feeling & tons of amenities.  There are windows all around with amazing views of the City and mountains, or enjoy the views on your own generous balcony.  Or wander through the garden to rest and relax, soak up the sun or perhaps enjoy a picnic, in the back yard! And it's located approximately 1 mile from downtown or 2 from the beach, Stearns Wharf and the Harbor.

Although the casita is in the City, it has a touch of a rural feeling, with large oak and Eucalyptus groves in view on 2 sides, as well as views of the city, Riviera and mountains on the other 2 sides. This is a perfect home away from home for business & vacation!

Entry to the studio is by a 17-step exterior staircase to studio. There are 2 cats who live on this 1/4-acre property (outside only); owners live in main house on the property and are happy to help.

Living Room: There is comfy seating for 5 in the living room area which also includes a new entertainment system with a 32' flat screen HDTV with digital cable (includes all movie/ HD channels and DVR), and a sound system with multiple speakers, CD/ DVD/ Tuner & XBox.  If you're looking for quieter at-home entertainment, you can choose from a selection of card and board games, & books. A picnic backpack, beach towels and pads are available for day trips.

Bedroom: The beautiful cozy 4-poster California-King bed offers a comfy pillow-top California King mattress, plenty of pillows and high-quality bed linens. A dark wood futon chair/chaise/twin bed, with more high quality bed linens, is added to the mix when a 3rd person stays.

Kitchen: The fully equipped kitchen includes a full range/oven, a microwave, full size frig/freezer with icemaker and dishwasher. It also includes a hand-held mixer, small Cuisinart, dishes, glasses & utensils for 8, even a picnic backpack, fresh roasted coffee beans and tea bags, cream and sugar, condiments, oil, vinegar, paper products, dish washing and washer soap -- enough to get you through until your first grocery shopping trip.

Bathroom: The elegant bathroom has stone tile floors, beautiful dark wood furniture-style vanity with storage underneath, and a tub/shower combo with rain-style shower head. The deep soaking tub with arm rests is wonderful for those days you need pampering; the bath pillow, bubble bath and bath salts add that extra special touch. Large thick and thirsty towels are included, as well as a blow dryer, TP and various toiletries are also provided - enough to get you started.  

Outdoors: There is a gas barbecue on the balcony, as well as a cafe table and 2 chairs to enjoy the beautiful view. Or you can enjoy the back yard. There are several different kinds of fresh herbs growing in the garden. There is also a   When in season, we often pick fresh berries, citrus and avocados for our guests, picked from the plants/trees on the property.

Parking:  Parking is on-street, close to the casita and plentiful. 

Santa Barbara's weather is so moderate, however if needed, the (well-insulated) casita comes equipped with Forced Air/central heat with thermostat to keep you warm and ceiling fan to keep you cool.  Fax service available upon request.  Land line service is not provided. Cell reception is good.

In a centrally located neighborhood, this beautiful casita is approximately 1 mile from downtown Santa Barbara or 2 from the harbor and beach -- an easy distance to enjoy all Santa Barbara has to offer. Close to downtown businesses, shopping, museums, restaurants, night clubs, the Santa Barbara Mission, the Santa Barbara Zoo, the Botanical gardens, the County Bowl (for live shows), tennis courts, golf courses, the harbor and Stearns Wharf, whale watching, island and coastal boat tours, wine tours, bike and electric car rentals.
