vacation rental description

On the west side of Cayuga Lake, this cottage is nestled in the heart of wine country. Our 40+ mile long lake has great fishing and boating as well as many other opportunities to enjoy this beautiful area of the Finger lakes. Ceramic tiled floors downstairs and carpeting upstairs provide comfort. This cottage is only 6 years old and has 98 feet of lakefront, shallow beachfront and ample parking for day guests on the private parking area adjacent to the property. This unique setting provides panoramic views of historic Sheldrake and WyersPoint with no neighbors to the south and a cliffside view, thus the name "Cliffside at Wyers Point"

Fall vacation in the Finger Lakes

Dianne (Ottawa Canada)
Review submitted: September 24, 2012   Date of arrival: September 16, 2012

We were 2 couples renting this cottage and had a wonderful week in the finger lakes area. The cottage felt more like a home than a cottage but that was just fine with us as it was extremely clean and had all the amenities we needed. It was very easy to find and centrally located for us as we went out daily to explore the area with it's wonderful wineries and proximity to Watkin's Glen and Syracuse. The cottage itself was extremely clean and had all the amenities we needed. We all agreed it would be a lovely place to be at during the summer as well with it's lakeside location.

Recommended for: age 55+, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Owners response: We are always happy to have our Canadian neighbors visit us and explore all the area has to offer. It sounds like you did just that. Please know we would welcome you back anytime in the future.

Terrific Lake House!

KeithM (Webster, NY)
Review submitted: August 20, 2012   Date of arrival: August 10, 2012

We were looking for a place to spend a long weekend celebrating my 50th birthday, and found this house on vacationrentals.com. The house definitely exceeded our expectations, as it was very clean, quiet (no neighbors to the south) and had everything you need for a vacation - full kitchen, gas grill, fire pit and terrific stone beach area (our son spent half the weekend skipping rocks!) The owners even supplied the linens!

We found great fishing off the 2 docks, did a lot of swimming in the water right in front of the house, and made quite a few trips to town (Ovid - only 15 minutes away) for supplies and bait. Even found a great place to rent a boat, which was delivered and picked up for us right from the dock.

The property is perfect for families, as we had the four of us, plus a couple of guests. Will definitely stay again when we can do an entire week!

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, sight seeing

Owners response: So glad you enjoyed your birthday celebration, Keith. We are glad you caught a big fish off the dock as well! Hopefully you will be able to return next year for another enjoyable visit.
