Why not have all the accommodations of a home with a pristine sunrise/sunset view (right out your window) rather than a hotel room? We offer a few Vacation Guest Cottages, but 'Lonesome Dove' Vacation Cottage has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, & a 2 car garage. Amenities incl WiFi internet, Satellite TV, washer and dryer, fire place, 2 refrigerators, a baby crib & high chair in the garage if needed, small wire fenced in back yard for small pets, & a screened porch with rockers to watch the world’s best sunrise. Everything you need to sleep & cook with the exception of your tooth brush!
Located on a 40 acre Horse (AKA Dude) Ranch, Happy Acres is just 7 easy miles East of the quaint little town of Dunnellon & the Rainbow River. It is also only 12 miles south west of Ocala. Trail riding is our claim to fame but most everyone who comes to the Ranch (whether it be for Square Dancing, Hay Rides, BBQ's, Meetings, Clinics, or parking their RV’s) come to see the horses. At this time we have 15 registered quarter horses, No old broken down nags. By staying at one of our Cottages you will automatically get a 10% discount off of anything the Ranch offers.

The Ranch has 3 barns with 33 stalls. Nineteen of those are in two newly constructed concrete block barns. These two new barns offer new modern bathroom facilities. Also we provide private tack rooms for boarders. Our stalls are 12’ X 12' but can be enlarged to 24’ X 12’ for foaling or post-natal care. We also provide sleeping quarters in the barn for owners or grooms on one or two day lay over known as Happy Trails Lodge. For boarders who want to work their mounts polishing up their skills we have two arenas one lighted. We also have a 50’ round pen.

Lake Otting Park, just 2 miles west of the ranch offers tennis and picnicking and some gorgeous 100 year old oak trees. The area surrounding the ranch has 50 miles of trails just outside the front gate and The Pruitt Trailhead (only 3 miles from the Ranch) merges into the Florida Greenway (now a State Park) which provides trail riding through the central part of the State. You can trail ride all day and camp at night. We’ll bring your gear & food and pick up the horses. In the morning we’ll return with the horses and pick up your gear.
The famous Rainbow River offers a good diversion to the Ranch. There you can visit the Rainbow Springs State Park. If you would like to see what Florida looked like before all the people came that’s the place. Take a relaxing boat trip or swim, float, snorkel, dive or fish on the river. Do you like photography? You’ll see turtles, herons, ducks, otters & maybe even an elusive alligator. Dunnellon brags that they are the Bass Fishing Capital of Florida.

The Ranch is 1 hour & 15 minutes from the Orlando or Tampa Airports & less to Disney and most of the Theme parks. Also, Salt water fishing in the Gulf of Mexico is less than 20 minutes away & the renowned Florida favorite, Daytona Beach is less than 90 minutes East of Happy Acres.
