house rental amenities
Our renovated farmhouse-style home was built in the mid-1800s and we have renovated it but have tried to keep its "old" charm and style. It is furnished with everything you will need. The first floor has a living room, dining room, eat-in kitchen with new stove and dishwasher, and a half bath. There are three bedrooms and a bath with shower on the second floor.
The best part is a spacious deck with grill, picnic table, and deck chairs. It will be a favorite spot to cook, eat and enjoy the great view. Our property goes to the water's edge where you will marvel at the strength of the tides as they rush in and out. Sea birds abound in the area.
activities and attractions in Rockland Maine
A day trip to Monhegan Island leaves from Port Clyde and shouldn't be missed. There are ferries leaving from Rockland for several island communities and several schooners offer day and overnight trips around beautiful Penobscot Bay.
A walk on the boardwalk in Rockland Harbor is an easy, scenic activity. For those with more stamina, a walk to the Rockland Lighthouse on the breakwater is invigorating. The Georges River Land Trust has a variety of marked trails in the area for those who enjoy hiking and birding. Nearby lakes offer fresh water swimming and renting a kayak can be great fun.
There is a lot to do, but when you return to our house, you will find it the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sunset over our wonderful tidal river.
