This gorgeous custom-built log cabin makes a wonderful home base for your next Lake Cascade adventure. Just two miles from the lakeshore down tree filled, winding roads, you'll enjoy the beautiful water views as sip your morning coffee on the expansive deck and plan the day's activities: hiking, fishing, kayaking, windsurfing, boating, mountain biking, birdwatching, or simply relaxing by the fire!

The cabin is spacious and packed with amenities, but still feels like a wonderfully cozy getaway tucked away in the mountains. On the ground floor, soaring timber ceilings and a wall of windows create a sunny, warm living space where the whole family can gather together. Comfortable sofas are arranged before the gas fireplace in the living area, so you can enjoy the beautiful views even while curling up with a good book or board game on drizzly afternoons. The open kitchen overlooks the living area so the amateur gourmet in your group can still be part of the fun; with plenty of dishes, cookware, small appliances, utensils, and even a dishwasher, preparing meals for the whole group is a delight.

Double doors open from the great room out onto the expansive deck, where tranquil views of the surrounding pine trees and Lake Cascade await. There's a gas grill provided for summer barbecues, or head down to the yard where an outdoor fire pit is perfect for roasting marshmallows.

On rainy days or lazy evenings, retire to the lower-level den for some indoor recreation. Between the pool table, TV (now with cable!), DVD player, another cozy fireplace, and plenty of comfy seating on overstuffed sofas, the space has plenty of attractions to keep even the whole family entertained.

The cabin sleeps eight comfortably (maximum of 10), with a log-hewn queen bed in the ground-level master bedroom and two additional queen beds in the upstairs loft. The loft also contains a twin bed and a twin trundle. There are two full bathrooms, with an antique claw foot tub on the lower level and a luxurious jetted tub upstairs. The house also has a washer/dryer to help keep packing light, and includes Internet access for those who need to stay connected.

The Lake Cascade region is an outdoorsman's paradise at any of time of year. The lake itself, just a short stroll away, is home to rainbow trout, Coho salmon, perch, and bass; fishing is popular both in summertime by boat or from the shore, and in the winter through the frozen surface! The surrounding national forests and state parks offer nearly endless trails to explore by foot, mountain bike, snowmobile, or cross-country skis, depending on the season. Less than five miles south, the small but charming town of Cascade has a few good home-style restaurants, a lakeside golf course, and a handful of shops. The slightly larger town of Donnelly is thirteen miles north, and the bustling resort town of McCall is another thirteen miles further; Boise is only eighty miles south.

Please Note: Four-wheel drive and/or chains will be required if booking this home in the winter. It is a windy 5 miles in from the main road. In the event of a heavy snowfall, it is possible to be snowed in until the plows can make it. It would be rare, but possible for it to take 24-48 hours.
