Vacation Rental Description

Spacious, airy cabana, located on the Costera of Bacalar overlooking 
the laguna. Large, fenced yard with gated parking. Beautiful views of
the lake among flowers, palms, and fruit trees. Large screened porch.
Facility is wheelchair accessible.

The downstairs bedroom has two single beds or one king bed. It adjoins
a handicap bath with hand-held shower, sink and commode. The bedroom
and kitchen doors and windows look directly out on the lake, 30 meters
away. Adjacent to the bedroom is the kitchen and dining room, with its
own bath. 

The second story has a very large bedroom (three singles or one king
and one single) with tall ceilings and a window looking out at the
laguna. Palapa roofing is screened over to provide an exceptionally
airy bedroom. 

Electric sockets around the perimeter of this upstairs bedroom 
provide 110 volt power for lights, radio, etc. A study area with 
lighting, computer table and regulated power provides space for the 
inveterate worker.

Floor fans supplement the breeze as needed. The bedroom is served by 
the bath just at the base of the stairs. 

Vacation Rental Amenities

handicap ramp provides access to a large screen porch. A bedroom 
with handicap bath and a kitchen/dining room are on the first floor. 

The kitchen/dining room has a separate bath with shower and access 
to the stairs to the second story bedroom. 

Ceiling and floor fans supplement the breeze when needed. The kitchen
has a two-burner gas range, microwave, and large refrigerator with
freezer. There is a blender, juicer, and coffemaker. 

The porch, with a view of the lake, includes hammock hooks and
hammocks as well as table and chairs. There is a small cd player and
speakers in the cabana so bring your cds.

Activities and Attractions

You can relax, read, kayak, swim, birdwatch, gaze at the lake or lay
in a hammock. If you are an early riser, watch the sun come up
over the laguna with a cup of tea or coffee. Visit Hotel Laguna, a
short walk away, for a meal and
swim, or try the restaurant next door, Aluxes, for dinner or cold drink.
Walk or drive to the fort in town, sit in the park, eat at one of the
small restaurants, visit Cenote Azul for a swim and lunch. Charter a
sail or motor boat ride. Stroll around the small town of Bacalar or
along the Costera.

There are many lovely and quiet ruins near by to explore and the Costa
Maya with its beautiful beaches, diving and snorkeling is only an hour
or so drive away. Chetumal has a fine Mayan museum and Calderitas on
the bay of Chetumal offers excellent seafood and the chance to spot
manatees or dolphins in the bay.
