traveler reviews for this rindge cabin rental

Spacious home with great mountain and lake views!

Review submitted: February 7, 2014   Date of arrival: January 23, 2014

Wonderful family getaway! We all enjoyed the log home design and the huge stone fireplace! Since it was a chilly weekend we loved sitting by the fireside reading, chatting, and relaxing with our family! The home was well stocked with videos and board games ! Some of us enjoyed a winter hike in a nearby wooded trail as the snow was lightly falling! Beautiful winter time! Look forward to returning to experience another season by the lake and mountains!

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children

Owners response: Thank you for the the kind review!

Could be a great place - but wasn't

Review submitted: September 25, 2013   Date of arrival: September 19, 2013

Don't believe the pictures on this one - very deceiving. This cabin is in severe disrepair and need much attention by the owners. Not one door in this cabin closes correctly, the cabin in general is very dirty, cob webs everywhere, windows haven't been washed in years by the looks. The wood logs are rotting in many areas with many water stained logs from water intrusion. Appliances dirty, dishes, silverware, and everything else in the kitchen needs a good cleaning before safe use. We arrived at the cabin to find dirty dishes in the sink, no linens that we paid for, floors dirty and sticky, counter tops dirty, and carpets not vacuumed and in poor shape. Dirty laundry in the basement along with full garbage containers left in the basement. The driveway is very steep and then you have to walk up a steep slippery (when wet)grassy bank to get to the door to get in. Be very cautious about giving a security deposit as everything is already broken and dirty. We have notified the Town Health Dept to investigate this property further due to the many potential health and safety issues present. We stay at many cabins in VT/NH and have never been as disappointed as with this one. Be careful here, especially if you have children. This cabin is in a great area for enjoying the outdoors in the canoe, many great ponds and lakes very close - just need to find someplace else to stay.

Owners response: We are very disappointed to hear the negativity in this review. As you will see below, we have NEVER EVER had a negative review. We have had over 30 different families stay at this log cabin, many of which return season after season. We have even had a Major League Baseball player stay here, who loved it!

This particular guest was extremely rude and unkind to management. When they arrived dissatisfied, they were offered a FULL REFUND but chose to stay anyway. We even gave them a $50 gift certificate to a local restaurant as our sincerest apology that the cabin did not meet their expectations.

Portions of the above review are entirely inaccurate and exaggerated (we won't get into details), and for that, we are extremely disappointed. We take pride in this family-run cabin rental business. This cabin was built in 1996 and is cleaned thoroughly after each stay. Appliances are all new as of 2011.

We keep our rates low (and some may argue below the competition), as we want other families to be able to enjoy this place as much as we have.

We love it!

Review submitted: August 9, 2013   Date of arrival: July 27, 2013

We rented this house initially Memorial Day weekend. We loved it so much, we had to come back another week this summer. Andrew, the property manager is very accessible and accommodating. The house is very spacious - much more so than the photos lead you to believe. The family room is enormous, and leads you to a deck with a gorgeous view of the lake. Our kids caught many fish, by the way.
There is also a roomy and private screened in porch where we had most of our meals. The house is very clean and contains all the necessities for cooking and entertaining. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

Recommended for: families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway

Owners response: Arlene,
Thank you! We look forward to having you back!
